Disappointed not to find, there having been a find recently. Looked at the base of every post and pole around to no avail. There is a new fence with concreted posts bang on GZ, so could well have been removed.
Found at 5:09:00 p.m. on 13/02/2015.

Couldn't find this cache today despite 10 minutes of seaching around the item hinted at in the clue
All quiet at Paerau today - actually never saw another person for next 30k of travel. TFTC
I had a good view of the Taieri Scroll Plain as I descended from Loganburn - wow, really interesting!
Great info boards, shame about the school - which is intact but empty.
TFTC - another part of NZ I wouldn't have ventured to without our crazy hobby.

Lots of plaques at this spot. Another school closed by Teflon John. When is something going to finally stick to him and let people wake up to him and his government. Last for the morning after a most enjoyable ride. Now home over the Old Dunstan Road. TFTC.
The axe has finally fallen on this country school. The locals were busy clearing out the class rooms as we arrived. Trailer loads of desks and other chattels were off to be auctioned. We stopped only to find the cache and left behind saddened and bewildered locals. It's called progress but no one here sees it that way.
We stopped here with fluffyduck38 on our way to Poolburn Dam (that turned out to be an adventure). I found the cache while the others read the information boards, luckily the car prevented the locals over the road at the school from seeing what I was doing. As fluffyduck38 said, the school is now closed.
Day out on the Dunstan...

Found it at 12:40 PM, Nice spot here. One of the hebes was in full bloom and being worked over by a lot of bees. I managed to catch up with one of the local farmers on the road and had a good chat.

A fairly quick find in a hot deserted area today, and nice to hear the school has recovered. After this we attempted to head home via the Old Dunstan Rd, but were stymied by a very wide and deep ford, from which we knew it would be a long walk if we got stuck. So a long trip home instead. TFTC
we drove to within 25km of this from other direction morning after it was published, but the thirst for FTF was not strong enough for us, so turned back. SO, was good to come and tick it off. Really enjoyed coming to here thank you.
nice quick group find - must be so much fun going to a small school like that! TFTC!!
A drive up the road on our return trip from the Serpentine Safari. Quick easy find with bumandworker although we lost Onslow Fisherman somewhere along the way.

End of the road here for as today, very hot, now the long drive to the next cache, about 2 hours I think.-Bitsprayer
*FTF* Its a lot way from the top of the Ida Valley to Paerau unless you take the shorter route via the old Dunstan trail which we didn't. The information panels are an interesting read as is the recent history of the local school. TFTC
