Sadly the weather was no good for skiing today so we decided to take a trip to Cromwell. We visited the car museum. It was too wet to go go carting. So off we went to a friend who lives in Alex. This one was on the way back to Wanaka where we are staying for the week. The logbook was soaked.
Yes found it but the container is not waterproof & all the paper soaked - needs attention please!
The last time we visited New Zealand in 1998, we missed the Milford Sound because of lack of time.
Now, as W is working in Sydney and C is visiting him, it was very close by.
So we decided to turn her visit into a small New Zealand vacation.
And off course this can't be done without a few geocaches.
A few turned into about 150 of them.
We started in Queenstown, but this time no bungy jumping anymore.
At the airport we switched the gsm-card to a NZ one, with internet access.
That way we would be able to check for recent logs and spoiler photos.
After we got our rental car we started the gps.
We're not used to driving on the left side of the road, but that was no problem with all the road signs.
During our last visit it was summer, now it was autumn.
The weather looked more like home, but we had our umbrella and raincoat with us, which we used a lot.
At the Milford Sound the rain was an advantage, as the rainfalls were huge.
Today was our best caching day, 25 founds.
this was one of them, but it was a very wet one
thanks for the cache.

Too easy, not hidden at all well and contents are wet. An easy one for kids but no challenge. Tftc
Once in a lifetime we wanted to travel to the other side of the world. This year we took a chance and made a 4 weeks trip to New Zealand! Although caching was not the main purpose, we had our GPS prepared and when we were close to a cache, we of course looked for it and logged it. So we found several dozens of "kiwi-caches" and want to thank all the owners!!
Today we drove the route from Queenstown to Fox Glacier, only interrupted by slow campers, nice walks and some caches. This one was one of them and we found and logged it quite fast. Logbook needs to be replaced!

Another great day for geocaching in Otago. Hot and clear. Looking good for the New Year. TFTC.
I was unable to find the cache as there are so many brushes around and unsure which side of the road it was on
Heading around the lower south island on a family holiday and we are going to pick up a few caches along the way. As many as the wife / mother will let us get away
with. To save time and data, these logs will be shared and written by Roaming-Haywards and The Real Batman. This is the last day of the trip and we have been given the green light to grab as many as we can on the way home. This was another park and grab we thought would be easy. The volume of traffic however made this anything bit. It took ages to find with one of us on guard and warning of cars, bikes, and even a horse. Found it eventually, signed and placed back without being seen. Thanks for the cache.

Well have an opp on my shoulder about 4 weeks ago and still got about 4 weeks to go before I'm back at work so I thought I would come visit some friends in Cromwell for a few days so while out getting a few I thought I would grad this one else on the way back to Cromwell. A nice park and grab TFTC ☺
Found it on a lovely sunny winter's day. Nikki, Aaron, Hunter, McKay & Chase Heath
Found with Rowenad on a freezing cold morning, temp still below zero. Brrr. Paper is wet.
Found on our 25 day New Zealand South Island holiday.
Apologies for the late log but with little or no internet as we travelled and only super slow WiFi in van parks I decided to log all finds on my return home.

Good & easy find! Not really under leaf litter...more like under a plant.
Also got average trade ins...just old paper of sorts. TFTC

Quick easy find. Had a look at the church nearby which is now privately owned. Spoke to some motorhomers who were staying there with the owners permission. SL. TFTC

Ar king this as found as found the geocaching note. No container or logbook. Was found under a rock. I had no container with me to keep this in the game.
No luck for me today
I did find the "Geocaching Note" in the mulch but not the container.

I missed this one yesterday when driving through Luggate so stopped to find it today. Easy find. TFTC =)
This one was well buried in the leaf litter but a bit of scratching around soon had it in hand. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
We are loving our time in New Zealand and thank all of the local cachers for placing so many caches for us to find. Today we tried our hand at speed caching. We drove from Wannaka to Lake Dunstan, down to see roaring Meg, dropped off in Arrowtown, over the hill to Cardrona then back around the other side of Lake Dunstan and down to Cromwel before finally driving back to Wanaka.. A very long day but a fab trip. Thank you for all of the caches along the way. We had our best day ever caching.
Took a bit longer than expected but got there after a couple of circuits.
Many thanks
Many thanks
A quick find while passing through on the way to Wanaka this morning. Signed log, TFTC
Staying at Arrowtown for holiday and thought great time to get all the caches in this area. TFTC.
A cache or two to fill in time while the family checked out Puzzling World.
Thanks Bitsprayer for the cache.
