31 December 2023 20:27 TFTC erninz for placing this cache, number 13220 for me. Staying (relatively) nearby, so checked the obvious place yesterday unsuccessfully. Managed to source a replacement container this morning, put it in situ while I was dropping off some recycling nearby. Tis now a blue m&m tube, with waterproof paper, hidden under a mat of grass clippings.
After spending a couple of days exploring Ranfurly it was time to head to Queenstown for the Gibbston Concert. Came through the Ida Valley to find this on my way. Nice quick find TFTC erninz
Replaced the cache. Hope you don’t mind.
The local buildings and grounds are looking very tidy.

Made the detour but muggles working nearby prevented me from looking for this one. Good to know there is more than a pub though! I will be back
The cache wasn't quite where it should have been, possibly being moved when some work was done at GZ but it was found a couple of meters away. Apart from some water in the container which we tipped out, cache was fine. Hid back at hint item. tftc
Found on way back from Poolburn. Contents damp and logbook mouldy so couldn't sign. TFTC
Exploring new ground, I’ve wanted to come up here for ages.

Beautiful morning for caching after the Gibbston Concert.....found with Conbatz TFTC!
A nice quick find today. Cheers.
And now it is time to head home. Today we started from Alexandra, and travelled through the Pig Root. Once we hit SH 1 No caching! (As there re none left)
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day 7 of our extended Easter break. This is our last day in Central Otago before leaving for Dunedin tomorrow, so a trip to St Bathans was planned, via the scenic route of course . St Bathans visited, now to take the long way back to Clyde.
Heading for Moa Creek, had to stop for this cache. TFTC.

#17047. While parked we did see a vehicle emerge from one of the hub buildings. Quick find hrere. TFTC.
Found. Log book looks like it could do with replacing. It's gotten wet and mouldy.
While I had parked my snail shell in Ranfurly I needed to go to Alexandra for a few bits and pieces and on the way home I detoured a bit at Omakau.
On my way to Poolburn.
Cheers for the cache.

Cheers for the cache.
On way home from catching up with friends in Cromwell and had time to sign a few logs. A short detour and an easy find and on to the next one. TFTC
Thanks for the short detour down here to collect this cache. Quick easy find. The kids wanted to get out and play in the playground but had to carry onto Naseby. TFTC
Thanks erninz, on way to Naseby for a geomission on the bikes today. Forecast 30 degrees, perfect.
Logged with GCDroid. This was the perfect park and grab. Slight detour on my way to Ranfurly and another calendar day ticked off. Noticed it has no Fav Points so I'll fix that. tftc
One of nine located today between Ranfurly, Naseby and Alexandra. Enjoyable drive through Ida Valley before reaching this spot. Straightforward find. #1460. TFTC.
Stopped here on a day's caching in the area north of Alexandra. A quick find here in the obvious place. Signed log, TFTC
As we stayed in Clyde, we decided to go out cache hunting in the Poolburn area. Lovely landscapes combined with good weather and excellent company made this day to our most wonderful first full cache day in New Zealand.
Readily found, happy there are no snakes in NZ.

Decided to head off to the St Bathans market day so now on way home caching as we go TFTC
Amazing! Yes, they do have everything you need here, don't they? Including long-drop toilets on the outside of the rugby clubrooms - always handy to know where toilets are - AND an honest-to-god old-fashioned REGULAR geocache! Well done ernienz!

13.10: On the way from Wanaka to Naseby, following Mark Wilson's roadbook "4WD SOUTH" along the track "Omakau to St. Bathans". The hint left no doubts where we had to look here. Interesting place: desecrated church on one side of the road and the microwave as postbox on the other....
Weather: sun, cloudless sky, 20°C;
Wheelchair: no problem in general, help for grabbing required, trench along the road;
State: all good.
IN: little flashlight;
OUT: piece of jewelry (hand).
Thank you!

Been here several times. A lunch stop or a place to overnight. Today it was a spot to unhitch the caravan and go for a drive to Poolburn.
A short detour off the main road and the co-ords were spot on for us. Found with debsnz
This was the last on our list for today and it was nice to be able to let the kids run and play. Nice easy find and great to tick it off.

First find today on route to the Poolburn Dam. Easy find. A very friendly 'postie' was wondering what we were up to so we enlightened him all about geocaching. Tftc.
One of my older sis's came along for the ride today and she remembers attending dances here about 50 odd years ago. Log book has a few odd scribbles in it so not a good place to leave travelers.
A quick park and grab today while we were in the area picking up a few caches. TFTC [^]

The sun has at last broken through and it is a lovely day up here on the Ida Valley. Glad we backtracked to this traditional cache site. Actually saw a police car so we are not alone. He didn't stop.
A quick find on our two day caching trip in the area. Hardly a soul in sight today, just the local policeman.
Was a nice day to go out for a motorbike ride. So once the chores were done we donned our gear and rode out to Ophir for lunch. The lady proprietor advised us that there was a quilting exhibition at the Poolburn Hall. Low and behold there is a cache very close so we had to find that. Very easy to find and a nice large container.
Yay a real cache! Right size, interesting location. Nice change from all the micros around. TFTC!
Was a minute too slow leaving and got caught in a traffic jam - large flock of sheep being walked between paddocks.

Great cache for Baby-Organist. Last cache in our trip. BO is getting very homesick.
A big setup here - one hopes their are enough locals to support it? Found a very decent sized cache,in good order, thanks erninz.
A stunningly beautiful Autum day, far to good to work in the garden, so we had a trip to find some of the newer caches and try to get a few photos. Clearly the inhabitants of Pooleburn are way ahead of the rest of the world in their communications and can send letters by microwave.
Annie was glad to find the 'facilities' at the nearby community area - even though the cleanliness & decor left A LOT to the imagination. LOL!! The cache was a good quick find and very well stocked. Will make a little boy's day for some cacher. TFTC
Found it at 1:19 PM, our 1st of 7 finds today. Nice easy find and a good sized container. We are doing a cache run today to pick up the ones I was too busy playing host to find when we came through here a week ago.
TFTC, erninz!
