I think there have been big changes here. Certainly there is no ford any more, the banks have been reshaped and unless the cache is up the top there is no cache either. I went around and climbed up to the top, just in case - could not find anything there either. However given some of the COs imaginative coordinates, it is possible the cache is still here, but without the ford to guide where to look, we could only try the supplied coordinates and out to about about a 15m radius.
Taybeedragon and I went on a tour of the Coromandel - one of the few places of New Zealand, especially of Te ika a Maui, that I have yet to explore throughly, and from there along the coast to Opotiki to see one of my many, many sisters. From 18 December to 5 January we found over 400 caches, including 12 adventure labs (60 caches), 20 or so TMGTs and a host of virtuals and earthcaches. And I hosted an event to see the sun come up on New Year's day - surprisingly popular given that it was at 5am. We climbed a lot of hills, saw some amazing beaches that were quite popular despite (or because of) the insane access to them, walk a lot of bush, entered and explored 8 gold mines and generally had an awesome time. However I am glad to be back, but now is the hard part, and I fear it will take just as long - logging!

love the hint. Fortunately I love my Japanese cars so wasn’t baited into ford v Holden
GPS was all over the place but we didn’t get into a flap. Good start for the New Year and new decade.
Found while on my Christmas holidays in Pauanui with Tramyard. Beautiful place. We saw a lot of hares about the place. Thanks for the cache
Find number 5621. The power company was doing work near my house so the power was to be disconnected most of the day. So I decided to go caching. I have looked at this from Whanga so many times but have never ventured over. Had time today so I tackled the road. It was rough in places but able to be driven in a normal street car. Mine is a VW. Spotted the hide almost straight away but did not realize it. Thank you for the placement.
Number three with da mumma and, buoyed by the logs telling us it was an easy find, we persisted. GPS not entirely accurate but was convinced I was looking for something auto related so thought it would be straight forward. Couldn’t find a damn thing until I approached the area from a different angle. Do approach it from Te Ananui road and it should be a doddle. Closely followed by Ballbreaker2...she didn’t have much difficulty finding it.
Out for a Sunday drive and to hopefully pick up another couple of caches. Met Laphs, a new comer, and her 87yr old mother doing the same.
Good description and hints. TFTC

On a day trip caching with Richard up at Onemana. Lots of walking and seeing some beautiful beaches and bays. A few good downs and of course ups. Thanks to the COs for some great caches and for Ri hard taking me as I am not sure whether my Suzuki would have liked some of those roads Not sure about those other cars either TFTC
We decided to take the boys for a drive and after checking out the cool new playground in Onemana decided on a whim to check out the view back to Whangamata from the end of the peninsula. We had had done this before we had kids but forgotten how long the drive was. We stopped her on the way. It took me way longer to find than it should have.
Found after a lot of searching, GPS sent us into the forest but it was less than 3 metres from the road.
Had a reasonable look but couldn’t locate it. GPS was bouncing around quite a bit
This was a last minute planned trip for just the morning to try and get a few numbers for the latest bl**dy souviner challange by Groundspeak. Started the morning in Pauanui and working my way south towards Whangamata
It had been a long time since I travelled this road and so collecting the remenants along here only seemed appropriate. For some reason I had always bypassed this area but as today time was on my side it was great to take the drive down to the point and pick up these caches. Heading back to Whanga and one final stop, I recall having those items continually falling off (am sure it wouldn't have been my driving)
Thanks for the placement, Thanks for the cache

The caches out on this peninsular have beckoned for a while, but we are usually in our motor home and we weren't keen on coming out this way in it (glad we didn't). We also brought the bikes with us in case they were needed (not today). I wandered in to look and phone took me further away, but as soon as I read the hint I knew exactly where the cache was! Huh! All safe and dry here, thanks G-2.
Love the clue but your are a brave man ....even though I agree....found the cache in good condition signed and returned ....it’s not unusual for parts to fall off those things lol Thanks G2
On a trip with TNXPro to clear a little bit more of the Coromandel. We'd finished the Broken Hills yesterday and Mt Pauanui this morning so I was looking forward to some park and grabs. This cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward hint. Cheers G-2, TFTC
Today I drove from Panganui to Tauranga. A pleasant drive with some nice views and caches on the way. TFTC!
We were over for the Beach Hop and I managed to persuade my husband to come down Peninsula Rd to go for a couple of walks. Interesting road here - popped out of the car and nabbed it then on to Te Ananui Beach. TFTC
Woke up early to lovely views this morning, after overnighting on the foreshore at Whangamata. Time to head north to find caches along the way to Pauanui and Tairua.
First we took the turnoff to Onemana and then back along the peninsula's forestry road to the Turnoff to Te Ananui. Our GPS was pointing further along, so one of us looked for an easier way to the cache, only to stumble upon the hide on the way. That was a quicker find than expected! And just the sort of hint item we had imagined from the cryptic clue. Thanks.

Understood what the clue referred to but took a little bit of finding as the GPS was all over the place. Real dusty in here today but so peaceful. TFTC
Tftc! A nice quick find here, which was great, as we had a tight timeframe for these final few finds. A bit of a hunt, and I was soon Holden the cache...
Pulled up in the middle of the road, as there didn't seem to be a soul about on this entire road. I was dismayed to read the description and logs as it looked like this one could take up a bit of time. Time that we didn't have. Good on thescoobydoos though - only a minute or two of hunting before she called 'found it!'. Bit of a laugh!
Very muddy road so don't wash your car beforehand. TFTC

On the road again with Gap (of Fap and Gap)... It's Valentine's Day and we are chasing down caches around the Whangamata area. Someone has been busily planting new hides here...
The iPhone gps and Gap's dedicated gps swung all over the place at this location. We were getting all sorts of ground zone hits that turned out to be false leads. We even resorted to following one of the coordinate suggestions in the logs, and that seemed to throw us even further off track. This resulted in us making a mess of the hint. Then after many minutes, Gap managed to right all of the wrongs in the world, and he discovered the cache... Thank goodness for that. TFTC.

4.15pm - Boy this one had us working. Co Ords all over the place then bingo spotted the hint. Glad not to be holding onto this one anymore. SLTFTC
Found it with Slaille during our trip to NZ. did not sign the log book was full at that time. TFTC Sling and Slaille
Followed the desription and hint rather than the coords and quickly found it. Coords were about 10m further up the road.
# 930 one of 100+ and we also placed 5 caches in NZ this trip as a thank you to the NZ Cachers that made this trip so enjoyable.
We are over the ditch for 18 days, with the goal of achieving our 1000 milestone at East Cape, which will give us our Most Easterly Find as well, 4* east of our current one.
Sorry about the delay in logging, no access to a computer, had to wait until we are home in Qld.
We are staying in Onemana with the Brother inlaw and family in his rented Batch and using it as the base for a few days, before heading out to the East Cape.
This one took a bit of searching, GPS was going in circles and I love these hides
An easy in the end
All with the cache.

Although we had some idea what to expect, it took us a wee while to find this cache, as the coordinates had us 20 metres too far up the hill. Our coordinates were S37 11.255 E175 52.880. TFTC
Took a while to get the GPS settled enough to find GZ. Loved the hint once I found it. TFTC
Starting to rain, coords all over the place, which small tree? Stepped back and used our caching sense for a find. Gathered up a few bottles and a bottle with added pipe... I wonder what that is? and jumped into the car as it really came down.
At an event I mentioned that I would like to find around ~150 geocaches during the weekend to be able to award my 5000 find to a special geocache in the states. YuGeo4 & yorkshirekiwi83 were more than happy to help me out overachieving this goal on Saturday. We met up early morning at 5:30am and started driving in the direction of Thames to tackle the Pony Express Power trail. We continued our drive to Waihi via Whangamata back to Auckland collecting drive by geocaches. Thanks YuGeo4 & yorkshirekiwi83 for an awesome day out geocaching!! Signed logs as "YAY"....
Uhh not a straight forward find for the group. We were already on calling it a DNF when we ditched our GPSs and made the find. TFTC

Co-ords were out for us, must have been distracted by the clear blue skies today. Took a bit of searching, couldn’t Hold en back a good giggle when we finally located the cache. Log signed as YAY (found with alpenmilch80 and yorkshirekiwi83) to save space, as we headed Ford to the next location, TFTC.
YeoGeo4, Alpenmilch80 and I met to head to the Coromandel and then Whangamata to hit as many caches as possible, in a fun filled day with great company we far exceeded our expectations of how many we would find.
The coords were off for us on this cache and it wasnt until we found the hint item that we realised what it was referring to. Thanks for the cache we signed as team Yay

a quick find on our way to the lookout. totally new area so thanks for bringing us here. glyn
Glad you put a cache and not a waypoint, as we decided not to go down the beach, too late in the day (official reason) – legs too sore after Pokohino Beach (not admitting to reason). TFTC
Staying in Whanga & off on an adventure to explore new places. Tftc & the waypoint!
Long time to find this one, but then we signed in. Thanks and greetings from Germany
Only had phone and not my gps so co-ords were bouncing around little but got it in the end. Over in Whangamata for a surf club competition. Very nice weekend. TFTC.
Off for a day trip from the Whiritoa bach to check out the beach down here. Not sure about the 'small tree' part, but soon had cache in hand. Very rough road, but view to Whanamata is well worth it!
Cache #3
Had the parents four wheel drive (if you can call a Honda CRV a 4 wheel drive) so could make the expedition down the peninsula road. VERY RUTTED...
Found cache then on to the last two.
Was offended by the clue as I support the brand mentioned.

Looked for a littke while for this one and then suddenly the clue stood out LOL. Have to agree with you. Rather push one of these than drive whats in the clue. TFTC SLTNLN
Gps had me a bit off and so did the clue untill i found the "clue" some how i missed it the first time, TFTC.
based on the clue thought we knew but turns out we didn't. Gps was a bit out but map gave us betier idea. after expanding search cache soon in hand. tftc
Watch out for the drop. In trying to turn round dropped the front wheel down a hole. Luckily the car following helped us out. Once sorted a quick find. TFTC and thanks to those who helped us out.
7000
Woohoo another milestone number notched up - no nicer way to do it than a nice Glyn cache. We rate Fords right up there, just behind Toyota's and don't talk to us about Holden's eww yuck! TFTC

Took the new black wagon for a bumpy ride to see if the 4 wheel drive bit works. Black and dust dont go together. Preconcieved idea here for this one had me in the drain........????A drain is a ford isnt it. NOT... took a while then the penny dropped. What a neat hide. TFTC
Quick find, also picked up some geo litter from the middle of the road.... bl#$dy calling cards.
