Logs
Time to find two of the GCs here at Grays Bush before we run out of light. The log was too sodden to sign so have taken some photo proof. TFTC
Found it thanks. As I was short of time, and already failed one in the area, I decided not to continue on to No. 5.
This was a MISSION to get! Cache is too wet to sign, I had to tip a whole bunch of water out of it, but pic of it attached to prove I was there. TFTC

Third stop at greys bush, was a fun walk. Found a little camel in the cache.
Enjoyed our walk around here. Around & around but eventually cache was located. Tftc
Out looking for treasure with Miss 7 and Miss 9, for the school holidays. Thanks for the great find. Left a special bracelet. Couldn't write in book as everything is soaking wet.
Really nice Forest to walk through, wouldn't recommend jandles . Left Mr Elephant in Cache
630pm dark af couldn't see a thing somehow found it with the help of a random old lady and her children haha
Late afternoon, on a very hot day, we decided to go for a walk at Gray's bush and grab the kiwi guardian code. As we noticed this cache, we set off the beaten track, and as little cacher said, pretended to be ancient maori explorers (with shoes and a map ). We took a little time to locate GZ, sandflies enjoyed our skin. After a few bites, we found the trees and the container. Allgood here, both container and logbook were in good location. Thanks for the hide!
glad it was dry this afternoon for this walk. followed our gps and spied group and soon had cache in hand
Took some hunting but found it. Kids took a bandaid and bracelet and left a toy camel and toy cheetah.
Wow what an awesome bush reserve which is noisy with birdlife. Such a sweet sound and not that common unfortunately. I can hear wood pigeons or kereru, tui and something that sounds like a dog barking high up in the trees. I will need to Google that to work out what it is.
One of 12 located in the Gisborne area on the last day of our Labour Weekend stayover. Managed to find all four in Gray’s Bush. Took just a brief moment to find once we’d travelled cross country “off the beaten track” to get to GZ! #2813. TFTC.
Today I decided to go a drive out to the west of Gisborne seeing that it was a fine day but the nasty weather was forcasted to come in a bit later.
I went for a wee wander amongst the trees.
In: TB.
Cheers for the cache.

This had been a planned trip in the company of HKCB to Whangarei but as the weather wasn't the best in the north we thought we would bring this trip forward and head over here to see what we could locate as neither of us had done a whole lot around this area.
Leaving home 7pm Friday evening and returning by midnite Saturday, 954kms travelled and approx. 70 caches located along with about 8 DNF's.
Thanks to all the CO's whom have put out these caches for us and completing the maintenance to keep them going.
Starting the long journey home and a final few caches as we head out of town and hopefully before the rain catches us. What a great day we have had in the area but have left enough for a return visit at a later date. A wedding party was taking photos in the entrance to the park and we smelled bad by this time, but after workign our way to GZ the cache was quickly located.
Thank you for the placement, thanks for the cache.

This weekend had been booked into headed to Whangarei with Cats&Dragons for a bit of caching, but as the weather wasn't looking flash at all, so we decided to head East instead to Gisbourne as we both hadn't done much caching in te area. Leave home about 7pm Friday, and returning home midnight Saturday meant we got a fair bit of caching time in for the limited time we had. All up we found just under 70 caches in total, so a big thanks for all the CO's for placing and maintaining the caches we found on this trip.
Gate crashed a wedding party taking photos at the carpark, but we politely avoided them a headed off into the bush. It was great to be back "Bush Bashing" (it's been a while since I have done it), though this bush is nice and opened compared to the usual places I go. A bit of a hunt at GZ but no real issues with the find. Thanks for the hide.

Today we made a trip from Gisborne via Opitiki to Whakatane, again at least at the end on the route of the Pacific Coast Highway, thereby visiting many new sightseeing locations and looking for caches, too. On this trip we searched, found and logged a lot of caches. The weather was very good all day long, a bit colder in the morning but it got warmer in the afternoon. Funny clouds were our compagnions especially in the afternoon.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had other things to do than observing harmless geocachers.
Thanks to Canaryz for showing us this location and for the fun we had at Off the beaten track (Gisborne). The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
We visited 2 Caches in the Gray's Bush Scenic Reserve - both deserve for the perfect Location a favorite!
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

One week off during school holiday time, combined with some cheap flights made a great adventure in the HB and Gisborne area, popping into BoP a couple of times also. I had great fun and I am grateful to all CO's who placed the caches for others' entertainment!!
Favourite place for the day!! TFTC!!!

We are spending a couple of nights in Gisborne, after making a spur of the moment decision to get the FTF on the new Virtual, and to collect the CANZ Gisborne cache. Having achieved those goals, we set about finding some more caches. We recall visiting and enjoying a walk in Gray's bush for a cache on our first visit to Gisborne years ago. So we were quite happy to make a return visit. Especially for three quite high terrain caches. After eventually finding the Pay Back Tree we decided to go Off the beaten track. Our GPS has some Gray's bush tracks marked on it, but they didn't seem to correspond very well with the tracks we made as we walked along. At the point where the beaten track turned away from the cache location, we made our own way in a beeline towards GZ. With the reasonably open bush it wasn't too hard to navigate our way through. After a while we spied a tree that seemed to fit the hint, and sure enough we found the cache container there. Thanks fo the fun. This bush is well suited for off track pursuits. Adding a Favourite point.
Decided that since I had an extra day off work I would come up to Gisborne and visit family as I was in the Hawkes Bay for work and it wasnt too far to travel the extra distance and it also gave me the chance to pick up a few caches in this lovely community.
After a DNF on GC5JBKN - taybee say's Goodbye to Gisborne, I decided that since I was in the area I might as well go and see if I could find the next cache that I had on my list in the area. I checked my GPSr and it was pointing me to a very dense bushy location, so I decided that the best way to GZ was he direct route as I noticed that there really wasnt any paths really going the direction that I wanted to go.
The walk to GZ was very interesting as the canopy was quite dense in some places and there were plenty of cobwebs along the way towards GZ, but it was causing me any grief. Finally after what seem like ages I finally got near GZ and after having a quick look around the GPS settled down and pointed me to a spot that was worth investigating, after a short search I soon managed to find the cache in the first spot that I looked, managed to retrieve it without any issues, signed the logbook and then replaced the cache back as found.
Thanks Canaryz for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (13171), now to go and see if I can find the next cache along this bush trail.

Found this cache with my partner and some of his family. Sure enough after walking around and getting lost in the bush, we found what we were looking for and decided to drop off a TB too.
In Gisborne for the North Island daffodil show. Sunday morning drive out in country to find some caches. Enjoyed the walk in this bush. Thanks Canaryz for the cache.

viděli jsme nápadný strom a kešku hned našli

Looked at the wrong gnarled giant first, but had it pretty quickly when I figured ot the right one.
There's a pair of sunglasses there too. I wonder whom they belong to.
The travelling fox is satisfied =-_-=

The name certainly matches this cache! Great fun strolling through the trees. Found with The Shirelings. TFTC
Really enjoyed this trek off the pathway to cache. Nice quick find thanks to helpful clue.
Found with Barnard Star.

Found the other day whilst walking with family. Introducing them to geocaching. Cache easily spotted by my cousin. Not very hidden, but complete with cobwebs.
Found a few months ago after a few failed attempts , made it rather rewarding to nail it.
Found it!!! Nice hide although wouldn't recommend taking small children as it's a bit rough LOL. Some cool treasures and swaps made it worth it though
Tomorrow we are leaving Gisborne for Napier so I had prepared a list of caches I wanted to look for. We decided to do a few central city caches first, while the parking opportunities were good, then go for a walk (fortunately a shady one) before the temperature got too hot. After a coffee break and lunch, we set out to look for some more caches.
We decided to stop at this lovely reserve as it looked nice and shady on a hot afternoon. And it was an enjoyable walk in the cool of the trees.
This wasn't too hard to get to, and the group of 5 trees was easy to spot (they looked like they were huddled together for a gossip session). And the cache was an instant find as I was standing in the right location to see it. TFTC.

#12009. We were a surprisingly long way off the beaten track, though the busy is quite open and easy to walk through (spider webs are the main hazard). TFTC.
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Our target today was to find caches with difficulty ratings of 2.5 and greater. Gap spied a whole lot in the Gisborne region... Road trip. It rained on and off throughout the day, making conditions slippery underfoot and slow-going at times. Weather coupled with quite a few DNFs made this a bit of a disappointing mission. Nevertheless, we soldiered on, as we do...
We were expecting a rough walk off track to this one. However, it was a pleasant surprise to find pathways through the undergrowth for most of the way. It took us a couple of minutes to pinpoint the right hiding place. But the corner of the cache sticking through the natural camouflage was a certain give away. TFTC.

I love this bush! We found the likely suspect in a group of five, but had no luck finding the cache, even though we spent ages poking around. So disappointing, our second DNF in the reserve.
Third cache for the day in Grays Bush needed to do a little off track looking hint is good and found reasonably quickly. Getting back out took a little longer and yes there are a few spider webs. A lot of small palms regenerating around the location TFTC decided to leave other caches for another visit on a hot day..
Definitely off the beaten track, was able to see a part of Gray's bush I hadn't been before, thanks.
This was fun – there was a gale force wind blowing over the top of the trees, but it was sheltered down on the ground – other than the odd bit of debris coming down. Came across the close ring of trees, and the cache was easily spied shortly afterwards.
The waypoint was remarkably good considering the trees – trust the technology is good advice here.

This was to be the last cache of the day. Mrs Zorgon was txting me and telling me to hurry back. Surely this wouldn't take long. Only a couple of hundred meters from the entrance. It was actually quite quick through the trees to GZ but then circled the tree spiralling outwards to no avail
Next time ....
Next time ....
Fairly decent trek as the name implies. Found with some difficulty after searching high and low, and almost giving up. Great little hide. TFTC
Nice to finally log this one, GPS was a bit touch and go but a quick search found the cache. TFTC cheers SiLiRy
A bit of a mission with the GPS wandering under the trees, but some keen young eyes spotted it after about ten minutes. Thanks.
Almost impossible to find with an overcast sky and thick foliage, but we managed to find it! Beautiful little reserve, well worth the visit!
GPSr didn't want to behave and spent so long looking we had to give away looking for the others in the reserve, thankfully had a change of clothes in the car, as we both came out a bit bedraggled.

Took a bit of finding as we headed off the beaten track, nice and cool in here out of the hot sun, TFTC.

TFTC. Lid was open when found but log was still in good condition. Lots of spider webs.
Oh dear did I leave the lid open? A nice walk in the bush with more to come to the next cache. TFTC
Had to have a good hunt around these 5 trees before it was found. Found GZ easily enough but I couldn't turn up the cache in the obvious places. Even dragged out the iPhone in the pouring rain to shed some light on the infinite number of dark recesses. Still no luck. Had to widen the search area and then turned up trumps. TFTC
Were not sure about which group of 5 trees. Kept comming back to same group. GPS all over the place but ultimately pointing in general direction of the same five. Hunted around and had sucess. TFTC.
Well, we searched and searched, sure we at right group of trees, but no luck. Nice little remnant of bush.
