As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Hi barkingmadnz

It appears that this cache has been inactive for quite some time. Is it going to be replaced or should it be archived to make room for possible future caches? If the cache owner does not contact me within Three Weeks, I'll assume the cache needs to be archived.

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,

Regards,

Gone along with co

28-Jun-17
Nope

11-Jun-17
Second time looking but still no luck

11-Apr-17
After 45mins of trying to find this one, I ended up having no luck, and got eaten alive. Wont give up, will try again Smile

01-Apr-17
I searched for my maximum of 30 mins, my opinion is if it can't be found in that time then it isn't there or I no longer care! Good luck to the next finder though....

27-Jan-17
Got home after our DNF, and had a look through previous logs. This time I found mention of a certain helpful photo. "Worth another go," I thought, so popped in for second look on my way home from work today. With the new info, it was a quick find. As others have said, the ponga clue's no longer correct, and the log was too wet to sign - but it's there!

22-Jan-17
No luck for us either - found the lump, didn't found the right ponga, our if we did, it's grown a lot.

04-Dec-16
Not sure if this dog is shy or deceased [xx(] [?]

04-Dec-16
Looked in all the obvious places. Found a piece of grey electrical counduit that may have been a cache container at some stage...but sadly no cache for us today Sad

15-Oct-16
Looked around for a bit but couldn't find this one. The dog was especially shy today.

03-Sep-16
Tftc we found it after a bit of a look through the other logs. Log wet so took photo with it. Found with stevecoxnz

03-Sep-16
Tftc. Log soaked could not sign. Found with pricefamily6.

08-Aug-16
Clue, gps and hint not helpful. Look at images

08-Aug-16
Having a wonderful day finding all the caches hidden by the same person, however, this one needs maintenance and was very tricky to find. Hint wasn't helpful, GPS jumping and very slippery in winter

08-Aug-16
GPS was way off due to heavy bush surrounding. Could sign the waterlogged logbook, so have taken a photo to show we found it. Found with Julie, Lili et tom and mel

27-Jul-16
After a few minutes searching was very pleased to find this shy wee dog esp seeing all the DNFs. Good clues. Terrain rating deceiving though. Should be 2.5 or 3 due to wet, hilly track. Log saturated so unable to sign but took photo as evidence of find. TFTC bmnz

27-Jul-16
Sorry wasn't carrying any spare paper today to replace the wet log. The cache container was wet also but it wasn't in it's "pouch" properly when found, so we put it back as best we could. Cheers bmnz

26-Jul-16
Easy find! Thanks! Lovely day for a walk and a bit of geocaching

07-Feb-16
Searched with kw12 for a while but no luck with this one so moved on.

18-Dec-15
This I've got the better of us. Pity Google doesn't show bush tracks , it was hard to know what track we needed

02-Dec-15
Just couldn't find this one today. Got lots of mozzie bites over a 40 min period of hunting for this one. Will have to come back another day.

02-Oct-15
FINALLY ! !
So glad to make the find tonight ...even in the dark too ...but had a good torch ..... Covered in cutty grass scratches too! But worth it .....had to resort to hint from a PF .....Was in the wrong cuttygrass for a while ! Should have studied the photo more !

30-Sep-15
Needed the patience of a saint to find this one. At least I had the patience part, but was there over an hour. Was just giving up when I spotted it. Couldn't let the visitor from the South beat us. Tftc.

28-Sep-15
Had a day available to go caching on the North Shore, so decided to go to the dog show. I hadn't quite realised how much those dogs like jumping UP and DOWN. Excellent days exercise. Thanks.

Had done the homework with the photo too.

06-Sep-15
Was hunting here for 45 minutes at least ,,,,,, so sorry not to find it ....
Had just been on a 5 hour walk with Natural History Club , so was keen to go caching after .....but no joy .

23-Aug-15
Tricky find, photo and cutty grass clue were key!

14-Jul-15
Had to use photo to find it. Got there in the end! Great hiding place but now covered in cuttygrass scratches

12-Apr-15
Tried hard but no joy. Found the tree in the photo and looked all around. This one got away from us. Nice spot however Smile

05-Apr-15
Couldn't find whilst out with keylev and laval.

05-Apr-15
Couldn't find whilst out with keylev and cragger.

05-Apr-15
This cache was certainly shy...couldn't spot it...gps was jumping and we were this way and that with no luck so moved on to the next one.

Thanks for bringing us here anyway - its a cool spot.

25-Jan-15
Last find of 5 on our pre dinner walk, lovely evening

25-Jan-15
Cache found lying out in middle of track. We replaced it to a suitably hidden location inkeeping with the clue (by the lump to south of track) in a fairly standard geocache hiding place! Consequently coods may be a little out

18-Jan-15
Out for a day of caching with Goober24. This one was 'the adventure of the day'. Initially in the wrong spot, and was eaten alive by the mosquitos. Our GPS told us a certain way, so we followed, to find a strange 'hump' in the path. We found the tree we thought it was, but took us a little while to actually realise it was right in front of our eyes. TFTC

18-Jan-15
Out geocaching with Gwen-o-nator. This was a challenge. I have to disagree with the terrain, it was far more treacherous! Finding the path was also tricky (but fun), Gwen wasn't so convinced there was a path. Found where the hint suggested and even though I was looking right at it, it still took me like 10 minutes to actually see it. Then we had to get it back there...that was even harder.
Then we had to get back to the car...and that was even harder still! I missed where the "path" went and we had to bush bash our way back, I got some impressive geocaching wounds. All in a days geocaching.

05-Jan-15
I spent lots of time making friends with many trees in the area. I had to expand my search pattern quite a bit to find the cache. I almost killed myself tripping over the hint, just before I made the grab. TFTC.

30-Dec-14
Took a while to find this as there are so many paths around.

30-Dec-14
Trickier than some of the other cache in the Dog series due to interpreting the terrain as GPS was of little value. The material holding cache has parted company with the body but we have managed to secure it in its position. TFTC.

30-Dec-14
Took a littlr bit of time but found the right path in the end tftc

24-Dec-14
Content completely wet. We placed a new log sheet and a small cache container. Thanks.

24-Dec-14
Today we had such a wonderful day of hiking and caching in this area! We just loved the way the residential area is surrounded by such wonderful natural habitat! A very great place for us to visit!
Thank you so much for showing!

24-Dec-14
Awesome camo!

26-Nov-14
Found it Smile

16-Nov-14
Coming from the opposite direction we completely missed it. When found the log was very damp. Had spotted the hint but dismissed it as being too obscure.

08-Nov-14
It took us a while then we found it, it took us a little while but eventually we got it
Tftc!!

03-Sep-14
Great cache thanks

03-Sep-14
Wow this was a bit of a wet and slippery mission. GPS way out. Cache very clever. Never seen one like that. Well done. Replaced very damp log

03-Sep-14
Tried earlier in the year now finally found it, quite tricky, look up!

28-Jun-14
Found whilst doing the rest of the Chelsea dog show caches with Leo. Good fun trail, had never realised this park was here. This one presented more of a challenge, I have looking in entirely the wrong place and credits for this one must go to Leo. Coordinates seemed slightly off, though may have just been thick overgrowth

08-Mar-14
Too shy for us

11-Feb-14
Oh my. Listen to the clue Smile walked straight past it

09-Feb-14
Smart phone wasn't very smart had to use the geocachers smart to find it!

05-Feb-14
Great hide? Took some time.

29-Jan-14
Looked for a while with no joy, then read the hint and tried the other side of the stream and found it fast.

16-Jan-14
I had some hours to spare before I had to head off to the airport and home so decided to spend some time caching around this part of the North Shore. Decided to try and find a few of the 'Chelsea Dog Show' caches while in the area. GPS struggling in the bush so it took quite a while to find this one. I was up and down and all around the path before I was finally standing in the right place to see it. TFTC, Biggles.

08-Dec-13
Great day out, the odd shower , but not humid

TFTC's

30-Nov-13
Was looking at geocaching map to see what I still had left to find in this part of the shore, when I noticed that I was missing a smiley where there should be one.
Checked back through my notebook to find the date I'd visited this shy little fella.
Due to tree cover I had gone passed GZ (although As I passed I thought this place fits the hint), when GPSr started pointing back the way I'd come I turn and slowly crept up on this pup.
Had search a few places, including one that when I had saw it, thought it had to be the hiding spot (would have made a good one) but it wasn't.
Was just beginning to think that the pup wasn't going to reveal itself, when I realised there was one other possible place that I hadn't looked, and their he was. TFTC

25-Nov-13
DNF on this one... We searched the area and with all the roots and vegetation here I felt on my ass. I couldn't "fall properly" because I had my iPhone in the hand. I had troubles waking up and walking after that... My right arm and right leg are all scratched...
We decided it was time to leave this place and give up on this one.

28-Oct-13
All alone now, all caching buddies have gone. Time to collect a few more on the way back to the digs. A race between my curfew and the battery level in the Montana.Nice wee trail another reserve never visited before. Thanks for the hide.

09-Oct-13
good container and good hiding spot
TFTC Smile

15-Sep-13
Strange, shy, little track leading down into the woods here. Cheers for the cache.

07-Sep-13
Made our way out of the chelsea bush and onto solid ground after finding a very muddy track to raven stone road. Popped down here for a quick find. GPSr was pointing 20 metres away but the spot just seemed to match the hint. Better lucky than good! Cheers for he smiley!

13-Jul-13
Nice winter walk. Ticked off all in chatswood area now Smile tftc.

12-May-13
Last one for our Mothers Day caching hunt... We went back and forth on a fork before deciding which option to take. Dad found the hint area, but it was 8YO who came up with the cache - well done!
We thought 1YO was pretty exhausted by this stage so thought it was a good time to end the hunt... she ended up singing a lot of the way home in the car!!!

10-Apr-13
What a mixture posh houses then jungle / rain forest I'm getting to know the kiwi names of plants at last - Sliver Fern SL dipped trackable replaced where found T4TC

10-Mar-13

Were in the Chatswood Reserve and the Kauri Centennial Park today for some doggish caches. Walked a merry and decent 10 km in total.

Had found a second spot to which the hint fit but the location was incorrect. After ignoring the GPSr signals, we found the cache just by following the track. Thanks.

By the way, interesting container...

30-Jan-13
Longest search of the day. Failing light and sunglasses didn't make it easy. TFTC.

29-Jan-13
Found with Nzanz. We found 19 this day! TFTC

29-Jan-13
tftc #16

27-Jan-13
Neat hide. The quickest way for me to gz was straight down from David Beattie Place and then straight back again to the next cache as the track here very rugged underfoot. Found quick thx to good clue - t4tc

31-Dec-12
Woops! Going back through my Found register on my GPS and looks like I didn't log this one with all the rest... Red Face TFTC

13-Dec-12
More trails weaving around and eventually leading to GZ. Thanks for the cache.

31-Oct-12
Cache in full view when in the right spot.

28-Oct-12
This is a shy dog! Eventually found the right hump and soon the cache was in hand, tftc

10-Oct-12
A long search here (shouldn't have let TuisReturn take a breather here as TuisReturn had completed this one) but was great to finally get a smiley face TFTC

23-Sep-12
Good quick find by Tuis Return as this wee dog wasn't shy today Smile.

23-Sep-12
A good hide here but found quickly with help from previous logs. Thanks!

30-Aug-12
On our night adventure.... Wil look for this one with a bit more light

22-Aug-12
Took a while to find as co-ords had me 12m out. A grid search located the Shy one.

05-Aug-12
Good find but path a bit slippery after the recent rain. TFTC

04-Aug-12
Making the most of some nice weather, and wandered off with snakelion and evilno9 to find a few puppies. Came across a very friendly puppy on our way to this way, closely followed by its owner chasing after it. Once said puppy was captured and returned to owner, we carried on, had a bit of a slippery trip to the bottom, but soon came up with the find. TFTC

04-Aug-12
Out this way with evilno9 and mel_ramsay for some caches. This being the next one on the list. The path was bit slippery but we survived.

Another quick and easy find for us.

TFTC barkingmadnz

04-Aug-12
Out with mel_ramsay and snakelion to collect a few of the prized dogs today and came through here. Had to deal with a very unshy dog who ran across to us from a nearby house on the way. Then had to contend with a very slippery path after the recent rain but we survived without anyone losing balance and soon hand the cache in hand.

Slipped our way back to the road and off to the next, TFTC

26-Jul-12
We were showing an ex muggle from Wellington (shaymal) a few of the great caches on the North Shore (which we had already found) and almost missed out on getting a cache for the day for ourselves.Sad Luckily we had this last remaining Chelsea Dog Show cache to find and we were no too far away. Made our way to GZ at about 11.00pm at night, found the track entrance and made our way into the bush. We initially shot right past GZ and had to back track a little. Soon located the hint item and it didn't take long before the cache was located. Thank you for the great series which has had us in this bush for many nights over the past couple of months. Looking forward to the next series. TFTC.

25-Jul-12
12.40pm. Last of the morning for us today. Some rather more extensive searching was required on this one - some distance (maybe 15m.) from where the GPS suggested GZ was located. Got it though!!

46th of 60 for the day.
great day for a tramp through the Kauri Point area. TFTC

13-Jul-12
On a mission collecting caches in the early morning before needing to head of to work in the arvo.

Phew! This was a hard one!! Started off looking in the spot the GPS said, even though I had seen a spot that matched the hint a few metres up, decided that this time I wouldn't try be cocky, and would go with the GPS.

Silly me though! After like a good 10min search, the GPS changed it's mind! And pointed straight to the place I had initially looked in. Well - as if this made me find it sooner... searched the whole place to bits, but I couldn't find it!! And then, I saw it... How could I not have before?? I suppose perhaps my shortness?? Either way, I was glad I found it in the end!

TFTC!! Smile

01-Jul-12
9429… Resorted to the hint, GPS behaving badly… or was it just acting shy? TFTC.

09-Jun-12
This shy dog took a while to locate-nice cache container-tftc

03-Jun-12
Headed out with Fiwinz for a spot of night caching. Arrived at GZ to find that both of us forgot a pen decided as we had a long night ahead a photo log would have to do... TFTCBig Grin

03-Jun-12
Out caching last night with Geomatt123. Lost my pen looking for this one and Geomatt123 didn't have any on him. Should we go back to the car and get it?? No, let's take a picture Smile I'll post it on my log once Geomatt send it to me. First time I found one of this container, new experience Wink. TFTC Smile

28-May-12
Thanks for all the fun with this series - really enjoyed the ones we got today Smile TFTC

29-Apr-12
A nit worried as muggles near the entrance but soon had the cache in hand, a slighlty different kind of hide in this series.
SL tnln Thanks for the smilie.

28-Apr-12
Took longer than I expected as GPS wandering all over the shop but we careful examination of each and every likely tree we found it. t4tc

25-Apr-12
Overshot the mark on this one due to slow signal under trees. backed up and there it was. TFTC.
