Unfortunately we could not find the final after collecting the initial information
This was one cache that looked a must-do - and we had brought our UV torch with us. We had scouted out the dark corners while doing the adlab, so no trouble finding the coordinates. But the final eluded us... now reading past logs, we may have overthought it... perhaps we should have ignored the GPS and just searched the obvious hides...

So this was the end of a pretty long day, Long Bay walk, a swim, and a good explore around the Kennedy park including going down the old WW2 steps towards the searchlight emplacement. So next we went to Mairangi Bay for fish and chips - the perfect holiday meal on the beach with a view of Rangitoto!

I was in the area today to do the adventure lab, but I also really wanted to grab this multi. My new UV pen had arrived in the post not long ago, and it was definitely going to be helpful here.
Upon arriving at GZ I figured I knew where I had to go, and after a very brief search I spotted the coords. I entered the waypoint into my phone and went to find the cache. An easy grab even with some picnicking muggles nearby. Thanks for the multi, very cool. #1367

Out on the North Shore with 2FLYTim, we are gathering finds for the next mountain and also working towards the Spelling Bee challenge in Chch . . . . . . takes a bit of planning but this is the third month of the Spelling Bee and so far so good. Well . . . . . number 8 was a bit of a challenge so look in a select number we did . . . . . . Tim found it . . . . . . a short walk to the cache and we signed and left. Very cool little multi . . . . thank you for something new for us today, we enjoyed this.
Out again with Mum (SethRaven) gathering this months mountain and a challenge for Christchurch. Cool place to come and learn a bit of local history. #8? hmmmm we found it in the end and Mum punched the coords in and I made the final find. TFTC
First port of call was here and after failing to get the detail required last time I was much better prepared today, and soon had what was needed to proceed, though I'm not convinced that those PT instructors need to be hogging the historic place (been there twice now and both times they've been doing training and classes). Made the journey to GZ and soon spotted the container and signed and replaced same. Nice way to do a Multi, thanks Zork V.
A quick dash out after work today, and a fleeting visit to Castor Bay, and area, was what was on the agenda. There are still a few more caches over here on the Shore which I want to convert to yellow smilies and a 3 cache haul was just the thing to slake the thirst today, thanks to the COs for their hides.

Was very pleased to get this one finally...my mates had UV torches and after a bit of counting and calculating all was revealed and we were able to get the final.
We've wanted to find this cache for ages. In the park this afternoon to watch the America's Cup, Miss Seven and I brought the required equipment and made a quick find during a break in the sailing. We gotta make a cache like this! Thanks!
I'm down for the weekend to say happy birthday to my son so it's not really a caching expedition. I need two caches for a spell July challenge and this one of them.
We had a nice family day yesterday where there was a delicious lemon cake for afternoon tea. I'd already taken them to a cache yesterday so I thought I'd do this one with my daughter in law today before everyone got up.
We left home sometime after 7am and were back about 45 mins later with 30mins travel time. The toddler was still asleep when we got home so that was great. A neat park. Thanks for the fun

Trip to Auckland to get one cache in particular for a challenge we are doing.

With family, and meeting up with Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We left the thick, dense fog of the Waikato, and climbed the Bombays into the brilliant blue skies and sunshine of Auckland. The weather looked like it was going to hold, so we did all of our non-caching things first... And then it rained, and rained, and rained some more...
Of all the caches on our ‘must do’ list, this one rated highly. We didn’t plan the execution very well - We left our UV torches at home. After Gap made an urgent hardware stop, the journey to the final cache progressed without any major hitches... This hide has held up remarkably well considering its age (It’s been around a month longer than we’ve been caching). Thanks Zork V and TFTC.

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
*We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.*
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!

*Great multi-cache, took a bit to spot the right place for our uv torch but then it was a quick walk and find at final location. Numbers very clear, nicely done.*

I'm on a 10 day multi streak for a Wellington challenge I'm working on. So later in the evening when some of the heat has gone out of the sun, I rang FMZ for company, he was keen to get out of the house and so we ended up here since it's getting harder to find caches we both haven't done, or more to the fact caches he hasn't FTF'd in the past!
This a park I have never been to before, Loved how these buildings were dressed up to look like conventional homes! We clambered down stairs and soon found something suspicious, and sure enough when the UV light went on, there are the co-ords! I can see this never ever getting muggled! That was fun! So then we punch in the new co-ords and make the short walk to GZ. Chris found the cache, it was quite obvious and when we open up the log, we see it's the original log paper! That is quite amazing actually, how it's been here in an obvious spot and never been muggled!
Cheers Zork!!

Nice quick but fun multi. Hadn't noticed it before but Gorby OS on a multi streak so dragged me out. All good here including original log. TFTC
I finally got to use my UV light that I received in a Christmas gift exchange. TFTC.
Our 1st UV cache. This has been on the radar for years but somehow we could never find Kiwiscots toy secret invisible writing light when needed until now. Kids have far too much stuff nowadays.... (I blame the parents). Surprised ourselves with how quickly we uncovered the required information and then made a quick find once at the final gz. Picked up the TB. TFTFun Multi
We were nearby collecting geocaches in Centennial Park and saw that this UV cache was here. Expected that I had forgotten to put the uv torch in the caching bag but discovered to my delight that it was its pouch in the bag so definitely had to come and get this one. Mrs Tuolei kept Albert the geohound company in the car as he was very tired and I scampered over with UV torch in hand to look for this one. Fortunately I interpreted the hint correctly first go and spotted what I needed very quickly. Made the adjustment to the coordinates and went to the final. A bit of looking required here as I didn't really know what to expect. Got it though which was great. Saw it was big enough to drop a tb (a little one) in here so did that too. enjoyed this one, thanks very much, all is well here.
Our boy got a new UV pen yesterday for his birthday so we decided to come here and get this one we spotted a couple of years ago. Well set up TFTC
What a neat multi cache. I have previously found the hint item so went and bought a UV torch on trademe for under $5 so I could complete this cache. So glad I did, as came back this evening in the dark and soon had the numbers I needed. Cache was quickly found after that. Being dark, I let common sense prevail, which had me in the right spot almost straight away. Nice hide as well, gets a fav from me, cheers
With rebel98 and little rebel on a Heritage Festival talk thru the nearby by tunnels. We finished at the GZ, so when everyone dispersed, we were out with the black light, looking for some secret information, somewhere nearby.
It did not take us long to find the information, and with us now out in the open, the GPS was able to navigate us to the final. Thanks for the hide, and bringing us here

Finally, an opportunity to use my uv torch! Jag50, Aiden29 and I explored the emplacement and didn't take too long to find the hidden message but it took us slightly longer to find the cache. My gps was telling me I should be over the cliff but common sense prevailed. Thankfully Mrs Jag50 spotted the well hidden container then managed to drop it on the wrong side of the fence so Mr Jag50 had to climb the fence to retrieve it!
Out with Merlot58 and Jag50 to walk from Campbells Bay to Devonport. We really enjoyed exploring the encampment and having to use the UV light to locate the clue. Each of our GPS were sending us in different directions to search, but it was Mrs Jag50, without the GPS, who located the cache. Thanks for this fun little multi.
Just about to leave this morning and Mrs Jag50 asks where the black light is. We will need it at one of the aches. So with the minutes below 10 counting down to departure and moving through the house with a mouth full of breakfast Mr Jag50 began the search for the blacklight. Fortunately despite having been used a few times he had put it back where it was originally placed after purchase. That was not in his pack.
Finally out on site with Merlot 58 and Aiden29 we explored the emplacement and didn't take too long to find the hidden message, but it did depend on where we began our count from. It the took slightly longer to find the cache. The gps was pointing out beyond the fence. Mrs Jag50 spotted the well hidden container then in replacing it managed to drop it on the wrong side of the fence. So, ever so gallantly Mr Jag50 climbed the fence to retrieve it and save his companions the trouble effort and risk.

Nice hide. First time using our UV torch. Took a little while to work out No. 8 but when we did, found it fast. Soon had coordinates and cache in hand. Good fun. Thanks.
Had seen this one when I placed the CITO, so made sure I had my UV torch with me, we werent sure with the number 8, but those that had previously found it fine tuned us, quickly had the coords and then soon had the cache in hand.

A joint find with Vamber, yorkshirekiwi and more after doing the nearby CITO. A fun little multi. TFTC
I noticed this cache while doing research on the area for today's CITO and hoped someone would bring an appropriate tool. After having a look through both structures (I enjoy sites like this) I noticed the shine of the groups torch and went for a look.
With the required info in hand it was off as a team for a chat and search.
FP for both the site and this being my first UV cache.

This was a group effort by most of those attending the CITO held at this park. I used my daughter's 'magic marker' that had a little uv light on the end of it. Someone else beat me to it - but I had a quick look afterwards and it works really well, what a cool idea! Finding the cache took a few minutes, even with a lot of eyes. Maybe we were too much in 'rubbish' mode still. Nice multi, Thanks for setting it up.
Found this multi while attending the CITO at this park. Once we were pointed in the right direction we needed to look with the UV light, we were soon on our way to grabbing the final. After a good rummage around, the container was spotted and this great multi was grabbed. Thanks for the cache!
#10688. A nice wee multi to finish the caching day. A UV-capable torch is part of our caching kit, and it didn't take too long to locate WP1. The final was a bit elusive, but eventually I spotted something "interesting". TFTC.
Enjoyed exploring the gun emplacement, which I didn't know were here. Thought I had found the first WP but the UV torch said no. StreetWalker went off on his own to explore and soon he had found the co-ords. We thought the cache was a quick find, but it turned out to be a discarded beer can . We were starting to think the cache was AWOL when SW looked in another spot, and there was the nicely hidden cache.
Nice multi, something a bit different. Thanks for bringing me here and TFTC.

This was our first UV cache, and having bought a torch we will need to search out some more. The first part took less time than the final.
Thankfully garball had the necessary UV implement and after coaxing/carrying the puppy to the necessary spot we had the first waypoint in hand, or so we thought, garball had to go back to double check as our GPSr had us over the cliff somewhere, turns out one of us had a discalcula moment and had 2 numbers back to front, after that the final was gratefully found without drama. Thanks for this cool multi Zork V.

Out with my siste, casaba3, today to spend some time together and enjoy some cache hunting. We were in the park in October but didn't have anything to read a UV message with but, having supplied myself with something that would do the trick and having it on me today, and coming right passed on our way to meet someone in Milford we just had to stop and see if we could turn this spot into a smiley. And indeed we did! First of it's kind for us. casaba3's geodog had some difficulty with the terrain of the first waypoint but we made it in the end. Thanks Zork V!
Cool my first uv one. I will have to find more with my new torch. Nice hide and new experience.
Cheers

I'm suspecting the final is in a place that we weren't able to access at the time. Found the co ords no worries
Great Cache. Found first clue finallyon the second time. Did it the first time in the dark but not necessary to view the UV clue.
WOOHOO!! Finally found this cache!! We soon realised that last time we were looking for the co-ords in the wrong place but discovered them after a bit of a look. TFTC!! Great find.
Downloaded a crappy UV light App which was no good so quickly moved on to the next cache.
Had theTurbo Torch which worked fine.
Great idea and after a bit of a search, had final. TFTC.

This was such a cool multi ! Have never seen anyone use a UV torch before .... Thanks Ric ...and thanks Zork for coming up with the idea !
I continued my walk this afternoon to the old gun emplacements and this multi even though I didn't have a UV light on me. Pondered the GPSr for a minute or two then decided what was what and soon had the note available to me. But it was unreadable except for one lone character. Decided to check the app store for something to do the trick. Well, what do you know I was soon downloading something to my phone. It certainly didn't generate an impressive light, but it did the trick. You know what, I think these smart phones might catch on. Off to the final which was soon in hand. That is an unusual container. Cheers for the multi-cache Zork!
Mega 2013 Monday. Great day very busy trying for a max of different types in one day. Thanks for the cache my 2849 find what a cool place
I'm visiting from Melbourne for the New Zealand Mega which means finding lots of caches and coming here especially to find this one - the whole experience has been fantastic. The weather has also been much nicer than back in Melbourne and that has meant long hours starting early and caching late into the night and not getting much sleep in between. I had spent many hours in the lead up to my arrival in New Zealand preparing an itinerary of caches, solved puzzles and places I wanted to visit and I'm pleased to say I completed just about everything I had planned. For the places I didn't get to visit, well that just means I'm gonna come back. I've seen stunning sights, walked lots of kilometres (and driven even more) met some great people and made new friends which has been awesome.
Aw I liked this one! I think I'll give it a favourite point for what is a fantastic location and then the little mission to find the cache - I did enjoy that bit too.
Thanks Zork V for bringing me here and for adding to my positive experience.

Went searching for this one last night. After arriving at GZ we searched everywhere (I think) but managed to come up with no co-ords. We thought that they might be on one of the walls but they seem to have been painted over. Either the co-ords are not visible or we were looking in the wrong place. Will return to have another go.
A very well executed UV cache, no problem with the waypoint, then just had to dodge the bag of doggie doo to reach the final.

What a simple, great uv cache. Really loved it, specially to show us a bit of history too. Would be more complete to put some more information in the cachedescription as we were very curious to know what this all was. Lucky that avoyager did explain.
As the other cachers, I take my uv everytime with me and finally could use it too. Thanks Zork, would love more of these.

Finally a proper reason to use the UV torch....bought to view scorpions on a holiday as they glow under UV light. After initially coming up with nothing we soon figured it out and had a proper look. Once we had co-ords plugged in the cache was quickly found, like the camo, tftc

Arrived at WP1 to find a tour group in situ, the guide wasn't moving on anytime soon so we wandered around until finally they looked like they were going to move off... the guide then thought we wanted to joing them - no thanks - and we managed to get to the right place to find the UV marks. On to the final only to be waylaid by yet another tour group... Mrs P came up with the goods whilst Mr P distracted the group with his antics in the trees. t4tc (A favourite from us)
Needing a multi for my Geo License, it was time to put my new torch to use.
Quickly figure where Wpnt GZ was but then spent a few minutes checking the wrong areas, till brain kicked in and co-ords then found. Then onto the final.
Hope this one isn't muggled - I had enough problems finding one of it's predessors, don't know how a muggle did (unless it was a 4 legged type). Gave this a favourite - something a bit different (wpnt and cache).

Its amazing how many places around Auckland have these gun emplacements - not too many at this size though. Loved doing this multi. Took a few moments to get the info, then a quick find for the cache. Cool camo. Will definitely be back when the tunnels are open. Took the 142 steps down to the beach to see another couple of gun emplacements. Loved the area and the cliffs. Refrained from joining the boot camp do-ers at the bottom of the stairs, that was another lifetime.... TFTMC and it gets a favourite tick as well.

After a DNF a lunchtime, it was with trepidation trying this one after work. Took quite some time to locate wp1, but eventually found. Then the final was a quick find. All very clever. SL. TFTC.
8939 No problems locating the WP1 clue, same can't be said about the final, nicely hidden, TFTC.
We had not realised quite where this multi was, or perhaps we would not have made a night-time visit, No problems though, and perhaps it was just as well it was a week night, as there was no one else around. A nice adventure to explore the site and find the co-ords with the UV torch, and then off to the final. Took us a wee while to spot the nicely hidden cache. Thanks for the fun.

No problems with the WP except I transposed some figures , the final was nicely hidden and had to pick the moment to retrieve due to many two legged and four legged muggles about on this lovely summer day. TFTC
We heard this notification come through and as this was close to home & we have the required equipment, we made our way to the given co-ordinates. After a little search found the coordinates for the final WP. Had to wait around until the many muggles walking their dogs had moved along. Good little multi. FTF TFTC.
