DNF Checked obvious spots and previous logs and this one is definitely not there
I climbed this tree with ease thanks to the added steps but did not find this cache, like the previous 2 cachers. Possums enjoy stealing things☺
Nope, no luck this time. I climbed up and around and found where I figured it should have been.
I notice this one hasn't been found for a while and these trees have a habit of falling apart, so it might be worth the CO seeing if it is still there.

I went up and down that tree twice but still didn't find it. I managed to get my head right over the likely spot but nothing there. Either blind, looking in the wrong spot or gone. Thanks anyway.
#674. 256 days in a row.
W is for... Wanniassa Hills Birds Nest
I'm finally catching up on logging my finds from earlier in the year. I hope I've got all the dates right, but I've definitely found all of these caches and kept my streak going as long as I'm logging it.
This was my twenty third cache in an attempted alphabet streak (I only made it this far). I intend to have another go at an alphabet streak later in the year.

Yeah, Nooo!, I'm not climbing.
Still, I think its a wonderful hide (if its where I think it is) and a lovely tree.
I'm off to get some caches that are closer to the ground .

Made harder work of finding this than needed, but we got there.
Thanks izfiz

After making the find on a nearby multi, I was in the mood to continue my after work caching loop around the area....and there was still plenty of daylight left!
Next stop was this one. Up, up I went on the handy foot holds. I still had to stretch a little here and there to get into the right position, but I had the cache in hand in moments after checking out the obvious spot.
Signed log and replaced, and then returned to terra firma to continue on with my walk.
Thanks for the hide, izfiz

Today my grandad and I went on a caching adventure around Wanniassa Hills.
This was the last cache we tried for the day. I made my way up the tree by using the helpful foot holds. The highest I could climb to was the main fork. I have a good idea where the cache is (judging by the hint), but I just couldn't reach it. We'll be back!

Really fun cache. Had fun climbing around our old stomping ground in search of this one. This is why we got into geocaching - thanks!
I went up the once and didn't see it. Read the logs and realised I have to go up again. It's interesting that when you're a little nervous your legs feel like jelly then, in such situations as this, that makes one even more nervous. Saw the cache then thought how do I get that out without dropping it - very carefully. Managed all that and put the cache back.
Out in search of the mother ship and space invaders and came close to this one so just had to stop. Found a massive arachnid cache guardian who didn't want to move. This was a lot of fun at night and Miss Stormcatcher did the hard work and retrieved the cache while Mr Stormcatcher distracted and fended off the guardian! Thanks for a great cache izfiz
Second of 10 for the day, found during a wander around Waniassa Hills.
Circled the base, then had a hunch where it could be. Poked around and found it

Nice walk, and good views. Good hide as well. I walked here slowly with the GeoSchnauzers, who wondered what I was doing in the tree. TFTC.
433 Found with Plofessor. The Plof and I climbed simultaneously from different directions. Fortunately we noticed before we had an accident. Tks izfiz. Nice to have a climb that I can manage.
My first find on an afternoon walk on this hill. A hill I have driven past numerous times and often wondered what the walking was like up there. Now I know! I had to take my watch off to find this as my arm was barely long enough. A fun cache to do, so a fav point from me. TFTC
Been looking at this unfound for a while, well today was the day, boy there are some windy(curvy) streets here. Found somewhere to park and up I climbed. Its most likely there I thought but should old people with big feet be doing this? Anyway did the deed, safely finished and back to the car and the grandkids at school.tftc
I was in the area again and realise I had already found this one but not logged it. Better late than never
Easy walk on a pleasant morning. A good excuse to get up the hill. Thanks.
One of two caches found before dark this evening. Nearby, a mob of kangaroos was grazing. TFTC.
Liked it, deserves a favourite! Did izfiz provide the handy footholds and the artwork at the bottom??
Great to have the Jr Cachehunter no. 1 with us this morning: he was straight up and in for the very well hidden cache.

Too good of an Autumn day not to be out and about. Great views around here, FFLL no 1 did the honours of retrieving. TFTC

was hoping it'd be a birds nest cache container, but still fun. Always up for a good climbing cache, tftc
I really wanted to get this one but Wasptor and fraggle wouldn't let me. At least hotwheels07 got to play with the dog. TFTC!
Loved the hide, both myself and Wasptor took turns retrieving and returning. Poor t- Rex though was itching to get this while hotwheels was just happy holding the GPS. TFTC!
'2013: 31 Days In A Row' - We seem to be finding a few like this recently. A quick find, Fraggles replaced it and then we were on our way. Sunset was getting close, and we still had one more cache on this hill to find. TFTC
Found during a pleasant evening stroll around the hills. No little birds in sight.

the_proton got to use his monkey skills again today. The supplied apparati were most appreciated. I got a great shot of him jumping back down. TFTC.
Knew where this would have to be, and given the supplied equipment at GZ it didn't take long to get in position and after locating the cache in the first place I looked it was soon signed and we headed on to our next target not far from here. TFTC.
#831: Wasn't sure about this one, but given the set-up I gave it a go and ended up with the cache in hand.
447. I love tree climbing caches, and this one was no exception. Container was tricky to retrieve as it was wedged awkwardly in its hidey hole. Thanks izfiz
Found on a nice day around Fadden. It was a bit of a challenge climbing up the tree, but the cache was quickly found. Very nice hide. Great location. Thanks izfiz!
Luckily my girlfriend is the adventurous type otherwise I would probably still be searching! TFTC
Me don't like tree climbs! but up I went. Couldn't see it at first (looking higher), but then spotted it. Not a very nice spot for a nest, maybe its moved. Managed to sign it on the spot, then very carefully got down. Thanks.
4943 + 561 = 5504. A nice run around Canberra today with Sol de Lune for a variety of caches...
After kangeroo corner it was a quick walk over to Birds Nest. Found the cache in the logical spot - nice ! Thanks izfiz !!
TNLN - TFTC !!

Sunday 15 July 2012 - cool crisp sunny winters afternoon with a cold breeze blowing from the mountains. Bring your climbing shoes. Thx p2p, TFTC

With a few caches around the ACT offline with the roo cull going on, I wasn't sure whether this one would be effected as well, but this early in the morning, I didn't think it would be much of a problem anyway. Headed up to GZ, and a quick climb up soon had the cache in hand. It wasn't until I went past another gate on the way back to the car that I saw the sign saying this area was closed as well due to roo culling, so this one should be taken offline as well. Just saves someone getting fined or shot!

Gratias izfiz,
No trouble nabbing this one, and thankfully had a pen in my pocket so I could sign the log in-situ.
Thanks izfiz for the cache.

I had walked past this one about 6 weeks ago and decided not to attempt it until a more dexterous time. Technically, I'm not much more dexterous, but I am a bit.......55degrees and counting....but need to get to 100. But hey....9 weeks down the track and I'm over half way. So this afternoon I decided on a quick doggy wander up in this direction to test the waters.
Once at GZ there was a nicely located branch upon which to loop the doglette and up I went. No problems encountered on the up....wandered around a bit and up a bit further thinking it couldn't possibly be that high. I was right. As I backed down I spotted what I was looking for. But I had climbed without a pen so I wandered (not that it was really 'wandering') back down to sign it on the ground...only to discover there was a pencil inside. [:o)] Never-mind. With limited hand strength it was probably a wise move! Back up for the replacement and we shall chalk all that up to a bit of remedial therapy shall we? TFTC.

5322. [font=Century Gothic][green]Back this afternoon to continue the streak. Went up and then came up empty handed in the obvious spot. Was about to head down to see if there were other spots but in looking down spotted the cache. Wasn't too sure about going down the way I came up so I jumped - did you feel the earth move?

After doing the near by cache , decided to grab this one, looked in nest and found it empty..... No way..second party climbed up and further search, nest was found.. Enjoyed the venture. TFTC izfiz
#81 This one required a thorough search of the area. Found whilst doing the Wanniassa Hills Circuit. TFTC
Found with J+J.au..Not wanting to spoil a good find rate today, had to join in here with the final effort paying off.. Great fun..SL..TFTC
Found on an early morning walk through the area. After a bit of scrambling and feeling around finally got the cache and signed the log.
Thanks for the cache izfiz

Mr Roo was up the tree, and I was on the ground. I made suggestions (which were generally ignored) but I did my bit! It was quite amusing watching him balancing up there, poking all sorts of nooks and crannies.
Thanks for the cache, izfiz!

Was going past this one today. Got to gz and couldnt find it at first. The hint really didnt help but after a fair bit of searching spotted it TFTC
After an embarrassing miss last week when it was found later in the day, I had to come and try again. I spent way too much time in two very stable looking hide locations, before getting around to the spot it was in. Enough out of the way to be way less than obvious. Thanks.

Most disappointing, went where I expected and then even higher. No luck for me. Maybe I am blind.

Well, after seeing Albida's DNF from earlier today, I must admit that my spirits were low. What chance did I have if Albida missed it? Well, after making the appropriate steps I was lucky enought to spot the container really quickly. Thanks izfiz, a very rewarding cache.
More like didn't even attempt it. I am currently one-handed and figuring this required one to be 'upwardly mobile' I decided it would have to wait until I have full mobility back so just kept walking.
A couple of nearby caches after dinner, and even though the day was nearing its end it was not too late to have a snake encounter on our way up the hill. A close encounter in fact - apparently I walked past it and Mr Winglen very nearly stepped on it! No problems after that though, thanks izfiz.
Walked over after finding Kangaroo Corner....
Not really my forte, but this one seemed easy enough. Got to the actual GZ area and after a short search, spied the prize. After fiddling about a litle, the cache was signed and returned to it's hidey hole.
Hardest part was the return trip....but after careful foot placement, terra firma was soon reach.
Bit of exercise, bit of fun, and a cache......yep, all a good mornings work.
Thanks izfiz...

Came here again today with Doppelfrog. And bumped into AmethystPig who confirmed cache is here. Had another good look around and got it. Watch out for all the bindi/sees things that accumulate in socks trousers leg hair etc. enjoy
Found @ 1600 on a wander around Waniassa. From the previous logs I had a suspicion where it wasn't - but still had to have a look ('cause that's what you do, isn't it?), so I took the well-planned approach, confirmed my suspicions, then set about the systematic exploration of every nook and cranny. I was close to giving up the search at my current position, then something a little 'awry' caught my eye and the cache was quickly in hand. TN, left a pathtag, SL - TFTC

OK - that was a little tricky! I saw so many good little hiding places, but it wasn't in any of them ... Finally managed to find it after using a PAF option! Thanks izfiz!
