It appears one of the way points has changed

16-Oct-21
Structure at landmark 4 has been rebuilt. Don’t think this cache is possible now as can’t work out the next coordinates.

25-Apr-21
It was not near or there we looked for a long time

31-Jan-21
This was done over several trips. I had a couple of hiccups mainly on the tile counting and then the boat anchors... but I think I stuffed something up. After talking with another finder I was able to see my error and had a GZ.

Today I was in the area and made the quick find on an interesting structure.

Thanks Biggles Bear for the hide.

**Find {350}**

*Aaarhh, aaarrhhh aaarh.* I planned to find this cache on Sept 19, or "Talk Like A Pirate Day" but some stupid coronavirus situation had other ideas. So we came here today to finish off this multi that I started at the beginning of the year when the St Kilda Festival was on. I forgot about it, then, well we were all on home detention for about 7 mths. Given our newly found 'freedom', we set off early today to grab this smiley, & to make a couple of finds in the area.

**The Cache**: I gathered the clues over a few hours during the St Kilda Festival, trying to act inconspicuous. At the first WP, a makeshift marquee was erected over the plaque, but I was able to slip around the back of the tent & move the 'wall' to find the plaque & get the info. Everything else went fairly smoothly after that, although it was a pretty hot day & crowds were swelling. I gathered as many clues as I could, but left the final WP til today when I had a car.

At GZ we were the only ones around so we were able to search & came up with the cache fairly quickly. We left the TB in the cache for the next finder, as coincidentally, I have already found this trackable in another cache & released it nearby, only for it to turn up here. What are the odds?

Thanks Biggles Bear for a really fun & enjoyable cache. TNLNSL.

Without writing a long log.. I did the early parts of this cache when I was doing some traditional cache in St Kilda. - maybe about 2 years ago now. Got stuck at the last FP due to some misinterpretations of the clues. Still don’t quite understand.
Anyway, during lockdown, the final FP is within 5 km of my work. I tried again to decipher, but got coordinates that were not good. In the end I guessed where the key might be as I walked along the beach path and yes I did find it.
Today, I was able to go 25 km from home to target the final X marks the spot for treasure.
It’s Halloween ,so dressed as a pirate I approached the final only to see Bluebeard smoking where I wanted to be. Had to wait until he walked the plank and I was alone to search. After a small hiccup, found the treasure and left a smiley badge. This has been my longest cache journey. ! Biggles Bear well done.

I enjoyed riding my bike along the coast chasing down this treasure. I ran into a couple of issues locating the coordinates for the key, but the CO quickly pointed me in the right direction. You can fumble your way to the correct answer by a process of elimination if you're persistent. There's only really two numbers that you need. The key is a pretty cool placement. I couldn't travel outside my 5k radius at one point, but luckily had a family member who could help me out with what I needed. Lots of fun, thanks BB

17-Jan-20
I set upon this cache a few days ago and had quite a pleasant stroll along the sea shore.
No ladies selling sea shells though.
I was befuddled at one awkward wp, but muzza came to the rescue and we sailed on down to the key, where i alighted the vessel for a quick hunt before noting it for another day.
That day was yesterday. A big day planned with a walk starting and ending in st kilda, clearing out everything walkable or climbable in between me and the treasure.
I left two trackable trinket treasures inside as some booty for a great multi.
Thank you for keeping this multi alive!
This is also a mini milestone with cache number 2200.

Thank you very much for this cache. We completed this one over 2 days with a few weeks apart. The first was a a great sunny day and had a lot of fun cycling picking up waypoints along the way and a few other local caches!

The final GZ had us take another day of caching in the direction of the final spot, and found it in a location I’ve never been to in my time in Melbourne! TFTC and and 2 really enjoyable days out cycling!

Was able to complete this with Crank1, Pwala and Papi4506 today. Thanks for the cache.

This has been a long time coming. In the area today after the nearby CITO so able to complete at last with the help of Crank1 and Pwala. Thanks for placing this cache.

Been worked out with Multi in few years ago, many places to visited which it's beautiful. Finally Today I came due of CITO at Port Melbourne. Now I tick this name off in my list. Found your cache today. Biggles Bear, thank you so much for placing it.

I'm looking for the last jewel to be found for Mystery at the Museum and this cache fitted the bill nicely. It seemed like a lot of effort but I decided to.give it a shot. Unfortunately after walking close to 3km from St Kilda none of the signs matched what the description described and I had to give up.
I'd already walked a considerable distance today and I just couldn't backtrack to give it another crack sorry.
It is a lovely walk along here and if I had a bike I might have had more luck.

03-May-19
I was at a conference in St Kilda earlier in the week, with this being one of the few close by i took the opportunity during lunch to head out to gather as much information as possible.
Then this evening I continued my journey for Black Beards Treasure. A late night visit to GZ had seedy eyes peering from dark corners, the Treasure was located out of sight of others.
Log signed and replaced as found.

Thanks for Multi Cache Biggles bear

Got the coordinates for this over a year ago. Normally I chase the cache immediately but put this on the back burner for some reason. It was a lovely day so I made this my project. A walk and a cache. What could be better.

Found this some time ago, however didn't get to do the earlier stages till today. A cool multi, thanks.

Found it! This was quite an adventure, something to pass the time before my flight home and really enjoyed the views from the seashore while solving the puzzles ...

1. Landmark 1. No sign of a plaque but Mr Google soon provided the information.
2. Landmark 2. I am sorry to say I was able to work this one out with the help of Mr Google too ...
3. Landmark 3. I overshot the turn for my intended parking so ended up elsewhere but found a sign with the relevant information and then that Landmark 4 was nearby.
4. Landmark 4. This was soon located. My first attempts at the calculations had me out to sea but I soon spotted what I was doing wrong and had a more promising set of co-ordinates in hand.
5. Landmark 5. I felt a little uncomfortable with this one due to the muggle kids at the landmark, but I was able to sail round at a suitable distance from it and collect the required information.
6. The key. Walking along to this I wasn't sure what I'd be looking for and initially search was fruitless. Then I re-read the instructions and soon found the key.
7. The treasure. I'd appreciated this was some distance away but perhaps not in which direction! A short drive soon brought me to the final location and I quickly spotted something promising. I had to wait for various passing muggles before locating the cache, retrieving, signing and replacing it.

TFTC and for a great adventure looking for it, FP awarded.

It was cold and drizzly but Diana8 and I were keen for a geocaching day out. I really enjoyed the coastal walk for this one, and it didn't take us too long to find. TFTC.

This morning I got up early to do this cache on bike before I was to watch my daughter, pa_i_ge , compete in the Victorian Short Course swimming championships, (she finished 18th in 50 free and 5th in 50back, pbs in both). I had looked at this cache a while ago and had figured out the first couple of waypoints but ran out of time. This morning I went through all the waypoints again and found the coords for the final quickly, however it was going to be a longer ride than I had time for so I went to the pool and drove there later in the day, soon finding the cache tucked away safely. Dropped a tb, thanks for the rejuvenated cache, one of the signs is slightly different to the description but it wasn't too hard to figure out the next coords. Smile

Julesc21 and I had done the long walk for this a few weeks ago. It had been a sunny but very windy day for a walk. We didn't have too much trouble finding the 'key' although it wasn't immediately obvious. We did encounter a curious muggle at the final waypoint and had to explain what we were doing. Today we set off to find the final, along with a few other caches that were in the vicinity. Not such nice weather today, but a few showers weren't going to stop us. Final was quickly found with the hint. Thanks for making me get out and about around the bay! +1fp!

Find #779

After being out of the game for a while and doing a great series on the other side of town (OCRP series) I stopped off here on my way home. Enjoyed the stages, did them on my bike over a few times. Wasnt too fond of final GZ with many single man lurking around, so I was glad it was a quick find so I could be on my way. Fav. point awarded. tftc

Well this was a long time coming. I visited the earlier waypoints on various dates with long intervals between quite some time ago now. Mostly on foot, but more recently with the aid of a motor vehicle. It was a bit of a thrill to finally find the 'key', but the trip to GZ also became something to defer to another day when those coordinates were revealed. I'm rarely so tenacious in my pursuit of a smiley that it can't be trumped by concerns about inefficient fuel usage. Curiously, the last time I visited this final location I was on my way home from hospital the day I discovered I had an illness that would almost certainly kill me. That makes it 12 years since I was last here. (Which is considered an improbably long survival time; that woman on TV *must* have known she was courting controversy and inviting derision when casually claiming she cured herself of this same disease, with mere dietary changes no less!) I'm pleased to say that I wept rather less today than on that day. Which is to say that I didn't weep. The cache was found pretty quickly after all. Without me even contemplating consulting the hint. I may even have smiled. Thanks Biggles Bear!

I had been eyeing off this multi for a while but didn't have the confidence to attempt it being fairly new to the game/sport and only having a few multis (and fairly simple one or two stages at that) under my belt. After completing sharkiefan's multicache monthly challenge I felt that the time had come to attempt this one, especially as it was in my proverbial backyard and had a fair bit of unlove on it. The exercise (which I am sorely in need of) would be a bonus.
I wasn't sure whether I would be able to complete all the waypoints in a single long (very long) walk and given that there really is no free parking during daylight hours near the listed co-ordinates I determined to complete WP1 quickly and then find parking close to wherever WP2 would be located.
Such proved to be the case. For those with cars who subsequently read this log I would recommend Blessington or Dickens St. as untimed parking (as of the date of this log) which cut some distance off the 10km round trip and are close enough to WP2 to make the return to the car that little less painful after a LONG walk.
None of the WPs were particularly tricky other than the second last for an unaccompanied male. However all the information can be gleaned at a relatively comfortable distance including the number of points on the wheel. Oh and don't assume the brass key referred too is actually key-shaped. Key in this case refers to the map reading rather than lock sort.
Interestingly at GZ I was pulled up by a bloke (apparently homeless judging by the amount of stuff in his car) who advised me to be careful as he had been beaten up last night whilst at the park. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to comfort him but wished him well and thanked him for the information.
The cache itself is in perfect condition and is where it should be.
Thanks for the exercise, the contribution to a couple of other challenges I'm working on and of course the fun, Biggles Bear.

I headed out today to pick up a few caches in my 15km zone from home plus a few solved puzzles as well a few a bit further afield since I had a few hours free today with the family down in Geelong.
This took 3 visits when in the area near each clue to gradually gather them all with one location giving me a bit of a problem but I ended up finding that clue in the first place I looked and today I was heading back past GZ within a few hundred metres so had to stop and finally mark it off the list.
Thanks Biggles Bear for the cache, the hunt and the fun.

Found by Mary & David at 1905. We found the original cache early in our own caching career, on 28August 2002, and it was quite memorable. Great to have this tribute cache to rekindle those memories. Finding multis towards a Challenge today, we stopped off to find the earlier waypoints mid-morning, but left the final for our trip home late in the day. Our drive to GZ was frustrated by road works each way we tried to approach GZ, and we ended up parking some 400m away and walking in from there. A familiar place, although we haven't been back here for several years. At GZ, we quickly found the container for our 11th multi of the day. Our thanks to Biggles Bear.

It was a dark and stormy night, I had just helped a Krazy pirate by burying his new treasure chest for him and decided to see if there be any about for me.
A little bit was found near the top of yon hill and then down here onto the sands I came.
I tracked the scurvy Pirate Blackbeard until he hid some clues. He didn't notice me as I went and grabbed them for meself.
By this time the clock on the town hall was ringing 3 bells and I was in need of some rum, so off I went 'til the morn'
Heading into the rising sun, so as to blind the lookouts, I followed Blackbeard's map and soon found meself digging for gold!
This be the start of a huge day for me crew. We ended with a thousand pieces of booty!
Arggh. 'tis good to be alive!!!

268 down 2,541,005 to go.

We're pooped, in case you were wondering!

Never found the correct 'Elwood Beach' sign, but manged to make a sensible guess.

Struggled a bit to find 'the key', but got there.

Kind of surprised the final took us away from the beach...

28-Sep-14
Wow... somehow i had completed this multi cache about a year ago, judging by an old entry in the logbook, though strangely, I have virtually no memory of having done so.
Returning today from a friends house down south I took the opportunity to duck into ground zero for this one.
The way points I remember as being methodical and good fun, and taking me on quite a journey, though at the time I wad heading a different direction to the finish, so left it for another time.
Well, looks like I left it for two other times hehehe my name is now in the logbook twice! An interesting little structure surrounds the buried treasure, though im not quite sure as to what the viewpoint it offers is.
My thanks to biggles bear for the fun on this one, and im glad to finally be logging it before I end uo signing the log thrice at some point in the near future.
Good timing too, with talk like a pirate day having passed by once again last week Big Grin

31-Aug-14
Found over a couple of weekends. The first was a lovely all-day walk in the sunshine and really enjoyed ourselves finding the different landmarks. We did have a bit of difficulty with the Elwood Beach sign and also the mosaic mathematics took us into the harbour... not sure what went wrong with that one but we were soon back on track and found the "key" to the treasure. Then today we drove out to this park which I was feeling very apprehensive about due to all the previous logs. But it was perfectly safe in the middle of the daytime and the cache was quickly found. Thanks for the adventure.

26-Aug-14
I've finally completed this one. I've had the final co-ords months ago but the cache hiding spot was completely in the wrong direction for me. Today I was nearby GZ whilst picking up my first rubber stamp for caching. With a brand new rubber stamp in hand, it was time to give it a test run. When I arrived at GZ, there were three Muggles standing nearby trying to solve the worlds problems. I continued on and did another cache that was located nearby. When I returned, they were slowly walking away still throwing around some opinions. With the helpful hint there was no mucking about. The cache was quickly signed and returned to its hiding spot. It's surprising how busy this park is.

Finding the waypoints were fun. It is definitely a fun one to do when starting out caching but the distances are definitely larger than most when factoring the final location. Thanks Biggles Bear for the adventure. I've always loved looking for pirates treasure.

02-Aug-14
I'd been chasing Monsieur Blackbeard for quite some months and as I was (roughly) in the area this morning, I decided to see if I could find his hiding place once and for all. With his last 2 or 3 known haunts discovered, I mosied on over for the capture. Unfortunately, there were several, shall we say, shady characters loitering around GZ including one who was only metres away as it would turn out. Surprised

Feeling quite uncomfortable (far moreso than I felt at the second last WP), I had a look at the hint and realised that despite the very close proximity of said loiterer, I could grab the stash with him being none the wiser (previous finders would understand how). I signed the log at 15:55, replaced the stash and scurried back to the car where I now noticed several other vehicles with guys sitting in them which I hadn't noticed when I parked! Surprised Not a pleasant end to this one really. Oh well.

What was interesting, other than GZ itself Smile (pity I didn't want to hang around), was that I wasn't the first finder of this one today. Amazing! Smile

TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks Biggles Bear.

Find #346

I had collected all the info for this over time with a few pleasant bike rides not too far form home. Once I had worked out where GZ was I knew that I needed to carefully choose my time to visit this one. I know this park from mountain bike racing just to the south of the bridge and as others have noted it's a well known seedy meet up area and best avoided in late afternoon and early evening. I decided to give it a try on a Saturday morning with Geobaby in tow so my intentions were hopefully readily apparent. Still a few odd types about but I made sure not to catch any eyes and just go about my business. It's certainly not the place to bump into a stranger who might be Geocaching and ask 'Are you looking for what I'm looking for?'. No probs with the find. TNLNSL and off to look for another nearby.

Thanks for keeping the spirit of this old cache going Biggles Bear. It's a great multi that (at least up until GZ) visits some lovely bayside spots. Thanks for the cache.

Sorry we missed you EuDes. As you mentioned we were just a few hours earlier than you after no visitors to this cache for over 3 months.

28-Apr-14
I had visited the locations by car over the previous few weeks. In a couple of spots I had landmarks calculated in the drink but the right locations were obvious even if my counting wasn't.
I finally made it to the key last week and was pleasantly surprised to find that the final location was in an area I needed to be today. A few muggles around but far enough away that they couldn't see my short search before I found, signed and replaced the cache.

Thanks Biggles Bear for the fun. A fave.

Find 1070 at 15:16. I was out caching with Burge today on one of our rare daytime caching runs. We decided to head to some of the caches that have been on our maps for a while. All up we found 6 today and this was find number 5.

I don't know why we couldn't find this one last time we were here. Today we walked right up to it and there it was! I think we had our caching blinkers on last time but it's good to have it off the map once and for all. Thanks for the cache, and for the maintenance when I logged my last DNF, Biggles Bear.

@15:03. I was out caching with Burge today. We had been solving the waypoints to this one in stages and it was only a couple of weeks back that we found the final coords. Unfortunately despite searching everywhere we could think of, we weren't able to locate the cache (even though the hint matched where we were looking) so we're not sure if it's still there. There was a lot of unsavoury activity happening in the park today which was unsettling so we decided to move on and will have to try this one again soon.

Had a job to do in Port Melbourne and St Kilda today so decided to grab the required info to find Gz and what do you know it ended up not to far away from the other job I had. Thanks Biggles bear for the cache. Sl The cache was nice and dry on a very wet and miserably day.

Found while night caching with MD, I guess the place is nicer during the day when most cachers would visit Smile Whereas we were there at night, which was a slightly creepy and uncomfortable walk around. Grats to Justin for the FTF a year and a half ago, looks like he had quite a battle to claim it!

I'd started this cache a number of years ago and only travelled so far.

Today was a diferent story, after basking most clues during the day in perfect sunshine I finished of here in complete darkness.

I skipped 2 clues and was in the right place at the right time tonight.

The cache was quickly spotted by torch.

Very happy to cross out my TO DO LIST.
Now meeting my son for lunch at Thai restuarant in St Kilda.
Thanks Biggles Bear for enjoyable tour and adventure.

# 2587. Out on the bikes today with the hope of finding a few caches along the way. Very enjoyable to combine two favourite activities. Robmc had done this one some time ago so was able to lead the way to the various WP's on the eastern side of the bay. With a bit of guidance it also meant I didn't need to take too long finding the information at each stop. But maths and I aren't great friends so generally the calculations slow me down. However, with the relevant information to hand and the coordinates to GZ retrieved from the key it was homeward bound for us. A hot day and getting hotter so no time-wasting today. I always enjoy the scenery around the bay so all in all it was a great day. To GZ in this lovely park (day-time only it seems from other logs) and soon the cache was in hand. Took: Koala TB that is yet to start its geocaching journey and LN. TFTC BB

Like others I am sure, I worked out the lead-ups to this one a few months ago, but somehow never got to GZ. By an odd sequence of events I was near here today and made the deviation for an easy find.

Found @ 18:00 with Spladem.
I admit I tagged along for this one. As we were passing Adam asked to pull in to grab it - who was I to argue. An interesting structure at GZ.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. There was a trackable inside which has yet to be logged in - I'll wait until it is before discovering it.
Thanks for the cache Biggles Bear.

I got started on this cache in its first version on the pre-release of this (before it was temporarily disabled..) At that stage I skipped WP1 and made my way instead to WP2, however before moving onto WP3 I got a call from C@H asking about another recently published cache.. turns out he'd found this one already.. We met up at the other one instead..

Today with SirJ-Oz we swung past here and made the find.. The cops in the car park had scared away all but a few bold locals.. I wsa glad to have John here at GZ, as I'd not dared venture in here alone as I mostly pass by here on the bridge after dark..

Requirement 7... fulfilled

We were solving this multicache for three interesting days. It showed us very interesting places in Melbourne and we enjoyed it so much (except the strong wind at the seaside). We were a little bit confused by final coordinates but the last day we tried to find it. It was very easy by using Google maps and we saw new suburbs of Melbourne. But the way back home was more difficult because we solved this cache walking. We were a little bit disappointed by cache size because in this location it could be larger. Anyway thanks for well spent time. Greetings from the Czech Republic. TFTC!

Let me tell you how I found this cache:

Sheltering from one of today's icy showers, I decided on a whim to check out the likely hiding spots on the structure keeping me dry... and surprised myself by coming up with a cache container. Pure, unadulterated tinny luck.

Went out for lunch today in Ackland Street St Kilda with friends and decided to get a cache or two on the way home.
This cache takes you to a series of interesting locations, should have had my bike but went by car instead. The GZ was a bit out of left field compared to the intermediate stops but still with some interest.
All in all a very enjoyable couple of hours.
Thanks for the adventure Biggles Bear

This cache has fitted in nicely along the bike path that I ride to each day to work. It was great fun to have something to look forward to along the journey, and to see the murals which I have just ridden past oblivious to their existence. Today I went on to the GZ and found the cache tucked safely away. Thanks for an enjoyable experience and for the cache!

The original cache was the second one I ever did, found ten and a half years ago. I have just looked at the old cache, and even though I found it over 6 months after it was published, I was still the fifth to find (FTF???).

Rather than doing it all at once, I ended up doing it over 4 days. On a regular walk to St Kilda Pier, I picked up a couple of the waypoints. On another day, I headed in the other direction and was able to skip a waypoint because I knew where the next one was, then on a third day, grabbed the details from the key.

Today I headed to GZ. There was a muggle nearby, so I went for a bit of a walk and by the time I returned, he was gone and the coast was clear. I grabbed the cache and left my name on it.

Thanks to Biggles Bear for reviving an historic cache and one with a lot of sentamentality for me. I'm giving this a favourite!

We were out nearby to this one today and decided to tackle this one, but we did cheat abit by not completing all waypoints.
After completing some waypoints and finding the key we were soon off in the opposite direction to find the treasure.
Once we arrived at GZ it didn't take long to locate the treasure and sign the log.
Thanks to Biggles Bear for this cache.

Having spent most of the day in Tullamarine, I decided to pick up some caches as I made my way back home. The TDC (Trailrunning, Blacklegend and myself) had been going to the waypoints over the last couple of weeks during our night caching runs and today we could go and get the final hide.
There were quite a few muggles about, noticibly single older guys, so we made quick haste to find the cache. Final coords were spot on so we were quite happy to sign and get the hell outta there. A fun multi that took us to many interesting spots along the way.
Thanks Biggles Bear.

Was down in Melbourne for a single day, and after taking care of a few things, was able to meet up with the other members of TDC "The Demolition Crew" and grab the final hide on this one. A great multi which we had solved the other waypoints for previously. Bit of an adventure and some fun WP's as well. Except the final.... Creepy, lots of single older men walking around, and obviously we know what there game is, and I can tell you, after signing the log, we didn't wait around to find out personally, because it was definitely not Geocaching.....

Thanks Biggles Bear, had a lot of fun with this, and despite some other comments, had no trouble at all with "The Key" stage. TFTC. +1 Fav given.

Wow, after finding the clues the other night it was time for TDC (Quasar 3671, Blacklegend and Trailrunning) to log this one. A nice multi, but having knew the previous one, sort of knew where this one would end up!!! thanks

Wow an old style multi the type of which you rarely see these days. It was a perfect day for this one and I gathered a number of other caches on the way as I had not walked down through here in ages.
The final had to wait until later in the day when I detoured in here to make the unexpected find. I had wondered if I had counted and added up everything properly but once I found the key all was well.
TFTC Biggles Bear and your trip down memory lane.

Finally found time to collect this one on a sunny day out in the little car with the top off. I got the final coordinates ages ago, as I recognized the ship from the description. GZ was a way away, however, but here I am at last. I've never been to this spot - it's an amazing place. TFTC

An overall interesting Multi - had fun gathering the clues, took some time but well worth the effort. GZ was totally unexpected - the structure at GZ blew me away. LOL!! Being late at night when I arrived I feared the worst - cars parked and faces appearing from dark and soon scattering as my torch light moved along the shadow of the night.... HA that will teach'em Razz

Thx for the hide Biggles Bear

I completed the waypoints a few weeks ago and decided to finish up and find the cache today after work. I enjoyed spotting that key just as much as finding the treasure.
Thanks Biggles..

No Snowmobiles - you're joking!!!!! Guess I'll have to take the deadly treadly then.
A really nice day for a ride (not like the next day!). Collected my first bit of information, and headed into the wind down the bike path. Been a while since I have ridden this trail - picked up two other traditionals on the way.
I had seen the mosaics before, but never looked so closely at them. Not so sure of one number here, but the other had me in the bay, so that was an easy choice.
The Shipwreck was packed! I was hoping I wasn't looking for the key here. Mini-muggles and their muggle-mums were swarming all over the structure. Fortunately, I just needed some information that was easily collected.
Found the key - is that the original one?
Back with a tail wind to GZ, and an obvious hide (if you didn't want to play with the spiders).
Thanks for re-loading this great multi. There seem to be too few of them these days.
Thanks, Robmc.

[purple]I knew it![/purple][font=Comic Sans MS]

Pirates are really gay* - why else would they place the treasure in that area?!? :surprise: Some of them were cruising along in the sunset but fortunately as a non-pirate I didn't get too much attention.

Anyway. I was sitting at home avoiding the heat when sometime during the arvo my chatbox went off *pling!* It was Liam who among other things promoted this one to be a good bike ride. Well why not - I couldn't pretend that I was too busy doing other stuff.
The ride towards the key was almost perfect but after that it just got better. Since now I was riding the other way, I had a nice tailwind speeding things up Very Happy I passed stage 1 and my new home in no time and soon the cache was found.

I did replace the old logbook with a NEW blank log book, so I think all the other logs have to be deleted and I am claiming the FTF. Wahoo! [white]... just kidding[/white]

[green]Thanks Biggles Bear for placing this one & thanks Liam for telling me to get my lazy bum off the couch

I was in St Kilda yesterday and noticed this multi in my gps. I had time on my hands and it was a nice day so I set out to do it.
All went well until the last waypoint where the key was located. There were a couple of elderly muggles right where I wanted to look.
I waited about 20 mins without any sign of them moving so I went and bought lunch.
When I returned they were gone and I was able, with a little difficulty, to obtain the key information I needed.
I proceeded to gz but before I located the cache, I tried to load it into c:geo but it would not appear.
I then found the cache and surprisingly it had a blank log book, aside from the owners initial comments and a note about a travel bug. I noticed then that the date on the logbook was the 18th of Feb and it clicked that this was the cache which Covert had the issue with. I must have loaded it into GSAK while it was present initially, before being "unpublished".
I decided not to log the cache but to wait until it was published.
This happened this morning so I called by to sign it, hoping to be first but half expecting to see the FTF junkie's name already there. He didn't disappoint.

Thanks for placing this cache. I had a lot of fun completing the stages on such a great day.
Also, happy tenth caching birthday, we were "born" just a couple of days apart.

When this cache was first published, I liked the look of it so thought I would head out for a chance at the FTF. We left at around 7:30 from Hampton not anticipating a quick multi, but a fun one. We weren't disappointed. I have ridden past all of these spots so many times that we actually knew where all the waypoints would be! Still, we did everything properly right up to the key. We found the key, noted the coordinates and decided that it was too far to travel to tonight, so we put it on the back burner with the cache on the watch list. The listing was then retracted and though I felt very sorry for C@H, I was a tad happy I had the chance at a FTF.

During the week, my mum made plans to have lunch at the South Melbourne market on the saturday! Woohoo! This gave me the perfect opportunity to come and log this cache with the possibility of being first.

Well, I woke up this morning and not long after, the cache was published. Damn, no FTF for me. Oh well, it didn't mean that I wouldn't go and find it anyway Smile. After a nice lunch, we made our way over here to make a find on it. I was told I had to be quick, but I wasn't that quick unfortunately. I had to use the PAF option because I was just blind and didn't feel on the right side of the step!! Oh well, I found it eventually in a really nice park I have seen many times but never been into. I actually considered a NightCache in here but I was told it wouldn't be the best place to be at night.

Thanks for a really great reincarnation Biggles Bear Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

Cache replaced.

Geocoin dropped

"How is the game played?

At its simplest level, geocaching requires these 8 steps:

1)Register for a free Basic Membership.
2)Visit the "Hide & Seek a Cache" page.
3)Enter your postal code and click "search."
4)Choose any geocache from the list and click on its name.
5)Enter the coordinates of the geocache into your GPS Device.
6)Use your GPS device to assist you in finding the hidden geocache.
7)Sign the logbook and return the geocache to its original location.
CoolShare your geocaching stories and photos online."

We draw attention to point 7. As there is a new log book in this cache, we will check to confirm FTF status.
