We haven't time to revisit this site all year, so will archive this cache. Someone else may wish to use this area, perhaps? When we do our pre-Xmas run up here to check on our other ones we may reset it, but will need to be a securer hide. Some thought needed first.
No one has found this since we replaced cache in December, so possibly gone already? We are unable to visit immediately, so best to disable until we have an opportunity to call and check.
Looked before and after my 5hr loop walk to the lighthouse. Got an idea to match the hint but not found
Day eight of our 11 day binge trip we are signing as NNES. We are up North visiting our friend Gracie's GPS fun. Ethness and I are having a wee road trip to St Paul's Rock and Cape Reinga today. We completed the St Paul's Rock walk and caches that I needed for a DT gap. Up to the Cape and back we go. We're on our way back. Ethness found this one. Logbook without container.
Yay school holidays! Time for a road trip with my friend Ethness. I flew from Christchurch to Wellington. The idea is to drive up to the top of the North Island and back. We planned the trip ages ago.
Thanks nalawod for placing this geocache 7827 find for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

The container has disappeared but the old log sheet, and now a new log sheet, are still there. Be careful when following the hunt item as you may miss the log appearing and it could blow away if it is windy.
The school holidays are here and NosyNel and I are on a road trip north - to the far north. TFTC. Signed NNES.

Thanks nalawod for the cache. It’s #1106 for us. We found your cache on 30 September 2019. Amazing views and worth the stop after dropping off our intrepid walkers on Te Araroa.

After a wander around the Cape for a few hours it was time to head back south and even had time for a few caches.
This one was surprisingly easy as I’m not too confident in nanos, happened to be in the first spot I closely inspected.
Team of concreters over the road installing what looks to be like a new helipad but they were out of site and nothing to worry about so cache was found, signed and placed back.
Worth noting that the container is missing its lid and log is full. Maintenance required.
TFTC, Cheers.

Looking ,looking, still looking ,sit down think about it look again aha success
Found at the start of walking the loop trail from Te Werahi Gate today. I found the cache after a couple of minutes but I found it very tough to extract the camo in order to access the cache. I got there in the end though.
The walk was absolutely incredible. It took me about 5.5 hours to walk the loop and the trail to Cape Maria Van Diemen, with lots of photos, lunch and a few caches on the way, really enjoyed it.
Thanks for placing this cache.

Ein sonniger Tag, wie gemacht zum Cachen und um die riesigen Dünen zu bewundern. Diesen haben wir schnell entdeckt und geloggt.

Meanwhile his is my third geocaching-trip to Middle-Earth . I love it! [:X]
And still there are routes and places in this beautiful country that are on the 'discover-me' list and want to be visited and explored.
Day #3:
Today, the red rental-cache-car took me on a long, interesting journey from Coopers Beach ‘farest’ up north to breath-taking Cape Reigna [:X]. This is one of the regions/spots I had not been before - what a shame!!!
A long way - but more than worth the ride .
Splendid weather-conditions , blue skies - sooooo cool!
I was very happy to collect a few nice geo-treasures along the route and of course at the scenic spots at Cape Reigna [^].
Just like this one, allthough it needs maintenance :
The container seems to have gone . Found only a logstripe (full), that I signed at an empty place in between . Replaced it into one of the small holes in the wood.
Thanks to the owner [:X] for placing this cache and cheers from Germany!

Driving home having had a great day visiting Cape Reinga. So many interesting places to stop. Had lunch here but no walk which will have to be next time. TFTC
Well what a great Christmas New Years we have had so far it all started off in Friendly Feilding have Christmas lunch with the family then next day Boxing day off to Danniverke for a weeks holiday together so special first holiday with the Grandson hes only 7 months old, then we didn't know what or where to go next so ended up going to Napier and then across the Napier Taupo road got a cache and a trackable, not easy to stop all the time with a large caravan on the back. We finally got to Taupo and said where to now so we kept going and then we got a text message some plans next week had been transferred to the end of January so we could go away for an extra week. We ended up in Walton Gold course for two nights to finish off the Kiwi and another puzzle series got 46 caches in total some were traditionals as well, got that sorted and then headed off today decided we would do the Route 66 trail and Smilie trail so we ended up in Orewa so we are here for a few nights. We set off this morning and completed the Route 66 series had some lunch about 1.30pm then we decided to get some more traditionals in the area and then slowly head off to get some smilie series caches. once we were back to our accommodation had some tea we decided to go for a walk along the beach front and get a couple of caches. Decided to see how many caches we could get in whangarei before heading north. Also looking for our minutes for a minute challenge back in Wanganui, so hoping to achieve that by the end of our holiday too. A fantastic day for geocaching today just hoping that it doesnt get too hot. Arrived at gz today and was a quick find here today, thanks for the cache. signed the log and replaced exactly where we found it. thanks again number 34 of the day
Busy here today, but no one paying any attention to us. Who would when there is ice cream. Quick find. Log is full. Managed to sign, but barely. Tool we brought was useful. TFTC!
Stopped off here while the sun is rising so nobody about for snagging and tagging this one. Cheers
Its Tuesday - day Four - Cape Reinga - Cape Maria Van Diemen - Kaitaia.
Its another epic 4 week geocaching adventure with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and Willam to the Far North. What an amazing place to explore. Lots of walks, gravel roads and sand. Lots of amazing trees, beaches and interesting POIs. Lots of kilometers traveled by vehicle and foot. Vehicle breakdowns, making new friends and catching up with old friends and family. Snagged a couple of FTF's, lots of lonely caches and the odd event along the way. Lots of cache maintenance and replaced caches on this trip. But what an incredible adventure!!. Thanks to all the CO's who have made this trip so memorable..

Stopped here on the way to the beach (or is that Beach?). The plan was to drive down it, but the road to the Beach was a little out of action for our skinny tyres. Anyway, stopped in here for a cache. Later we found a little lunch cart set up here, alas they were either setting up or closing whenever we came past . They don't have any icecreams either . This morning there was no one around, so an easy hunt.
Day four of an awesome, tiring, long, four week holiday geocaching with Taybeedragon in the upper north. A second day mucking about the Aopouri Peninsula. The whole trip comprised of hours of walking on sand, sliding down sand dunes, hundreds of kilometres of unsealed roads, car breakdowns, paddling out to islands, dolphins, goats, events, FTFs, weird boulders. You name it, we saw it. Lots of bisons, lots of cache maintenance, lots of sunscreen. A month is enough. I am glad to be back home. Except that now I have to write up my trip. We averaged just 20 caches per day, but that is still a lot of logging!

Northland Day 2: Drove up from Hokianga to Cape Reinga and back down to Doubtless Bay to stay the night. Today’s drive is a really, really long one, and I am glad for these caches that break the monotony of the drive. Many park and grabs today due to the lack of time, would have really liked to do some of the better ones. That being said, many nice ECs along the way and a lot of amazing views and sights seen today.
The following is the specific log for each cache
A quick one here while taking in the views. I really don’t like to be poked when caching, so I was a little worried here. Luckily it was the cache that needed to be poked and not me. TFTC!

Today we had a trip from Kaitaia to Cape Reinga and back, thereby visiting many locations especially near the road and looking for caches, too. On this trip we searched, found and logged a lot of caches. The weather was good all day long with only partly some clouds.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had other things to do than observing harmless geocachers.
Thanks to 'nalawod' for showing us this location and for the fun we had at 'Te Werahi Gate (Northland)'. The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

Day to walk, watch and do some caches in Paihia - Cape Reigna - Omapere.
After visiting the Cape Reigna and with some free time left, we made a few stops. I did love this possible way of climbing fences. Cache a bit dificult to find and logbook very hard to remove. Is a good cache to star this new jorney.

We found the same cache vial as bbricardo which certainly fitted the hint. Again there was no log even though they replaced it. We also replaced it but the vial has no lid so I hope the log lasts longer this time. We were keen to get to the Cape at this late stage in the day so didn't even think about the walk today. Another time perhaps. Thanks for the cache
Today we started our Te Werahi loop here and this is what I found at GZ in a hinted spot. I was sure this is it. Now I see previous logs and it may not be the right one. Added a log sheet so now there even might be to containers. TFTC
Found after a short survey of all the ‘pokey’ wee places. Had to take back to the car for tweezing! TFTC
On the way back for the cape we stopped but we couldn't find it. Perhaps we misunderstood the hint or we simply were blind...
Nevertheless thank for showing this nice place says anbo68 from Germany

Up in the North for 5 days of R&R and looking around. Heading for the Cape. Parked very close to GZ but needed a tool to extract the cache.
No room to sign log.. photo taken with it near to GZ but not at GZ TFTC greetings from Scotland
We we're headed back from the cape and stopped for a coffee. While waiting in line I noticed that this one was only a few meters away. TFTH
After waiting a while for a walking group to set off, we found the clever little hidey hole and extracted log, signed it and Departed. Tftc
On the ground when approached GZ. Hopefully returned to where it was suppose to be.
This was the day of our New Zealand vacation where we finally made the way up to the most northern point. It took a while to drive. Good thing is that we had great weather and the sun was shining all the way.
Sorry for not having a lot of individual logs but it was just too much for it. We try to add a note to all of them.

6.40pm - DAY 2 of 3. Today was our second real day of caching on our north trip, starting in Kaitaia and heading to the Cape.
With lots of stops, detours and back on only 1 road that we had missed caches from the previous night.
This part of the North Island is amazing with great views, history and lots of hidden bays and Campers parked in all sorts of places.
The roads were good but couldn't get over the number of one lane bridges, twists and turns. Told the guys that it would be great to bring Mrs Fap up this way but she hates driving on these road types.
Amazed at the number of tourist at the Cape, cameras posed waiting for the sunset.
Returned to Kaitaia for night stopover. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap) and Mr Davidson (of Davidson clan). Signed most finds as BGH.
Visiting Northland for Easter... The plan for today was to cache our way to Cape Reinga. If conditions were favourable, then we wanted to return along Ninety Mile Beach... We really hope to make a big dent into several challenges we are working on...
This was a tricky find in the dark. It took us a while to figure out where this was situated. The container has no lid and the log is open to the elements. TFTC.

The morning was not as nice weather as we thought it would be. It was cloudy and a bit raining. We are changing the plan. We will not go to the second lighthouse, but we will go to the Tapotupotu Bay. It turned out to be a happy decision. On the other side of the island, the weather was completely different.
Thanks for the cache.

Another stop to admire the view on the way back from the Cape. There were 3 vehicles parked close to GZ, but luckily one was empty, one left soon after and the other was behind the empty one, so was able to look for the cache uninterrupted. With the clues given, it was a quick find, but the paper log inside was just mush, so no chance to sign it. Took a photo as proof if required. Cache will need maintenance.

Yep tweezers were certainly needed but on getting the cache out the log has run away & the cap is missing.Have signed & left a bit of note paper in place which will work for a while.Cheers & thankyou.
A tricky little one and yes, tweezers were needed. Thanks nalawod for all these placements along the Far North of SH1 - these DOC information stops are very interesting.
Today was another nice day for our holiday trip in new zealand were we of course also found some caches along the way.
Today we took a trip from round kerikeri.
This is one of them. thank you for maintaining this cache.

On my way to Cape Reinga I stopped here by accident. There was a car park and the view looked promising.
But one never stops without checking for Caches nearby and - tata - there was one just 20m away from my car.
That was the easy part and then followed the difficult one: I looked thoroughly, climbed over the fence and looked more thoroughly, climbed back again and looked even more thoroughly...
I guess it took me at least 15 minutes until I finally noticed something suspicious which proofed to be the container.
Thanks for showing the place (even though I had stopped here anyway for a change ) and greetings from Austria.

Lovely picnic spot to have some dinner and sleep.. oh yes, a cache is here as well. Didn't take long to find the cache, but took few moments to understand how to retrieve the log. But we did it with no much trouble with an instantly available tool. Now its soup time... tftc.

We noticed this spot already on the way to Cape Reinga but didn't stop then. On the way back, it was getting dark and late already, so we decided that this would be a god spot to have dinner and get some night's rest. And it was. Is it an **infraction** not to bother going to an actual campsite for that? No, I don't think so
We left the walk to NZ's most westernly geocache to another time
Thanks for the cache!

On a far north holiday hoping to add some caches at the top of our beautiful country. Couldn't spend too much timing looking as night was fast approaching and we still had to make camp for the night.
