Sorry forgot to log this, but know we visited on this day, took a little bit of looking but got there once we read the hint, tftc
No 1 of the day. I let the eagle eyed Ro struggle getting the log back in while I posted the first find of the day on the S4. Could life be any more fun on such a beautiful day

Day 2 of my trip to Auckland for the Mega event. Today I decided to head north to the Whangaparoa Peninsula to take in some of the views and then to explore the Dairy Flat area to look for some smiles before finishing off the day with some Fish and Chips. The day did not quite start out as intended, so I ended up going straight up the motorway.
After Silverdale, I headed farther along the peninsula to look for some views. I was following my nose now and just stopping to look for caches. No-one sailing today.

Geocaching with 16 newbies for Duke of Edinburgh silver exploration and were trying first without a GPS for our assessment.
Once the group stopped and actually read the cache description properly it was an easy grab.

Thought my luck was in - no one & no vehicles insight, nice quick retrieve of the cache.
However by the time I had on wound the log, signed and rolled up again, there were people everywhere. A bus had dropped of some college kids and by the time they had passed there were 2 ladies walking their dogs down the street - took ages for them to reach me and go passed so that I could return the cache. TFTC PS there's only 4 spaces left on log.

Had to wait for a female muggle and her K9 owner to pass before signing this one off.
Cheers for the cache.
Found easily at dusk. A few people driving past wondering what we were up to.
Grabed while out on the peninsula, took a bit of locating this little guy

Great Little Find - But I couldn't physically log my visit as I could not get the log out of its container...
This one was close to home and we went looking at night trying out our new Garmin eTrex 10. Just as well we had the GPS as it wasn't where we thought it would be
Quick easy find for my NZ friends I think it won't be long before they purchase a GPS! TFTC
Were in the completely wrong place- by the pond! However, found in the end. TFTC
Wohooo!! First find - With NoseandLard! Difficult to find at first, but when we found it, we couldn't believe we hadn't before!

Miss Geckoh was chomping at the bit to find a cache so she was released to locate this one and was back double quick with cache in hand. It took far longer to roll the log back up! TFTC

Found on the way home from a few finds down Golf Harbour, the GPS wasn't being kind.
An easy find after reading the clue.

A quickish find but I was hindered somewhat by a reasonable amount of traffic and not wanting to attract attention with the torch. TFTC

Put us down for a DNF on this one. .Checked every centimetre of the GZ furniture to no avail. However, we DID find an unexpected piece of electronic gadgetry in perfect working order. If anyone lost something at the GZ then please let us know what you lost and we can arrange to get it back to you ASAP.

Decided to spend the day caching out Whangaparaoa. A quick find and a nice colour match on the container! The little yachts were out racing today also.

Why is it as soon as you get to GZ every man and his dog appears from nowhere and looks at you with great suspicion. Got it in the end. TFTC
The postie was sorting his mail right in front of GZ when I arrived, only a short wait required though.

Great place for a Nano... Easy find with the youngest member of OMCNZ!! Thanks Molly..!
Found by our daughter Molly, working 'closely' with rival team 3 wise monkeys - TFTC
A milestone cache for me. Have been saving to do this one as an emergency find for an age as its been the closest cache to my home for quite a while. Almost did it straight from a hospital bed earlier this year but a sick surgeon saved the day.
I have been working towards filling in the geocaching calendar for a few years with the view to completing it on Feb 29th just gone. Unfortunately the International dateline got in the way and I skipped this date last year so this finally completes the dates. Seemed appropriate to grab the closest cache to me rather than one on the other side of the world which after 2 million km under my belt seemed a good chance.
Its new hide should last a bit longer for the owner.

Great place for the yachts! There were about 5 yachts out charting courses around the bouys. While everyone was busy watching the yachts I just had to tie my shoelaces, several times. Aha, there is the cache. Got the log all signed and had to re-tie the shoelaces again to return the cache. Sat and watched the yachts for a while. TFTC.
Was busy today with radio controlled sail boats.
The were ebusy minding their own business.
Easy find.

Arrived to find three hard-core yachtsman racing while sitting down...so I did a few other caches in the area and returned just in time to see the last sailor packing up. A quick find and a tight log had me sitting down for a while too! Thanks for this one.
Geocache replaced.
Please take care when retrieving and re-hiding. This this a highly visible area full of muggles at times.
Many thanks.

Took a seat, admired the spot. Searched all over but could not find it. Perhaps its been muggled? Will try again another visit.
Great spot for a cache and luckily we had some bread for the ducks. One of our sons had a radio controlled yacht that he raced down at Lake Pupuke under the guidance of Mr Smale TFTC.
8897 Got a txt from Rosmar, who were caching behind us, while we were signing the log on the pew with the view. Arranged to meet up and had a cuppa nearby. Enjoyed the yummy Belgian Slice and the catch up, good luck with the night caching, cheers YuGeo4.
Was pleasantly surprised when this cache popped up a couple of days ago as we have a few mid week gaps on our calendar and this one was not too far from home. Saved it for our first calendar gap which was today and was even more pleasantly surprised to discover a blank logbook. Nice place for a cache but those Pukekos were after food that we didn't have.
