Spending a whole day in NYC without having to work. So I planned a decent hike through Central Park. No mysteries solved, so it was all trads, virtuals and earth caches. After 16 founds, my feet were killing me so I went back to the hotel.

I went to LI to visit friends this weekend. On the way home I stopped in manhattan to grab a few virtuals and one traditional so I can complete the nations capitals challenge cache in DC. Of course Henri was here so it was a bit rainy but I pressed on.
After finding the virtual nearby on 5th ave I walked over and checked out this one. Neat cache and probably would have walked on by clueless if not for cache. Answers sent to CO. TFTC!

I had to go to NYC unexpectedly so I tried to make the best of this rushed trip and used the couple of hours before my flight back home to walk around the city and visit some caches and Adventure Labs.
I was walking along the outside of Central Park and missed the entrance that was closest to this Virtual Cache. I almost didn't go back but then decided that this little detour was worth it to get another cache. No regrets! I loved the unexpected surprise!
Thanks for leading me here, JoeyDude!

#4909 - 13:40; On foot through Central Park and headed for The Met, collecting a few caches along the way. Took the geofamily along to see this one and to grab a pic while we were there for the family album. Email sent to the CO seeking the OK. TFTC JoeyDude! Cool

09-Nov-14
We were off to the USA and Canada for a few weeks of holiday, and thoroughly enjoyed traveling around, and visiting the many different places and caches we came across Big Grin

We decided to spend the day today exploring Central Park to complete the Bridges and Arches Multi. While completing that cache, we couldn't help but grab a few other in the area as were rode past on our bikes, and we soon spotted this one close by Big Grin We rode past quite quickly before realising we needed a safe spot to pull off, so with a little traffic dodging, we soon had the perfect spot, and a good view of GZ. We quickly spotted what was needed, and wondered to ourselves, how many people ride past here and have never seen this [?] Who knows... Well, we are off to our next one [^]

Beautifull day all around Central Park on our bikes (with Dori). From 9h to 19h, 33 caches (11 Gates and 14 Dasthardly) were found under a beautifull sun.

This virtual was visited on our bikes. Nice surprise.

Thanks for the cache

Today we spent in beautiful Central Park.

So I followed my Garmin to GZ from Belvedere Tower and decided to take a seat on the large rocks opposite the "object". Nice place to stop for a rest. But the volume of people running, cycling, skate-boarding, roller-blading, etc beggars belief. I suppose I should have expected that --- being a Saturday morning in Central Park.

New York was the final stop our tour. Besides from visiting all of the touristic spots in this great city, there was enough time for geocaching.

This was our personal project APE challenge!

Our main goal was to visit the last existing Projekt APE Cache (Mission 4: Southern Bowl) in Brazil. Travelling in total more than 25.000km from Germany, visiting Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and the United States, just to complete this Mission.

During our travel we had a great time. We visited a lot of great place and met many very nice people.
Thanks to all the Owners of the caches we found during this trip and to DreiD and Twente123 for doing again a very crazy trip across the world.

We found this on Saturday and haven't yet heard from the owner as to whether we are right in our answers but I can't think of any reason for confusion, so I'm logging the find. If we are wrong, I'll amend the log later. It was a great cache as it brought this to my attention when I would never have noticed it otherwise. I also looked up the history of the cache and found lots of interesting facts out about Central Park. TFTC.
