**Sun, 21 Jul - 15:25**Decided this cache has run its course. Too many heavy handed geocachers causing additional maintenance. Replacing with a basic traditional for the time being. Might look at bringing it back in another form further down the track. Thanks to all those who found it, for the interesting logs, and for being 'conned'.

This one stumped us for a while. Not sure if we were missing something or if parts arent where theyre supposed to be. Or maybe we missed the point of the cache lol but we got there in the end just by searching everywhere. Thanks for a cool cache and brining us to a lovely spot. Found with FairyDust01

That took a while, longer than it should have. Looked in a wider circle which didn't help. Came back and thought more, also didn't help. Just a lucky spot from the right angle in the end. HC GERR indeed!!??

This cache was one of those found around or on the leap day February 29th, 2024 before, during or after the Mega event in Adelaide. Many thanks to all those owners who placed caches that VK7HCH and I found during our trip from Hobart to the Mega and return home again. A quick find when I looked in just the right direction with the sun behind me. A favorite from me

Oh yes you really make people think and work for this one ! What a blast thinking this one through. No wonder it collects favourites by the bag full ! Anyway, thanks very much Phetlern for an enjoyable experience, and finding the well contrived stages to winning the prize. Take yet another favourite.

I was on a mission today to grab a cache in this LGA and I was strapped for time. I got to GZ and started scratching my head. I had a look at a couple of things but nothing clicked. The clock was ticking. I decided to move off and look for another. Ive never been down this part of Victoria before and after my quick visit today, Ive decided I need to return and spend more time here exploring.TFTC PhetlernKeep smiling

Road tripping to the Leap Day events at the Adelaide Mega, caching all the way and trying to fulfil various challenges as I go.This cache- why? favourite points field puzzle attribute Really enjoyed the twists and turns of this one, very well done so giving it a favourite point.Arrived late afternoon and had the foresight to bring a torch along. Went through each of the steps but the last couple took a while with the final not being where it should have been so some anxiety there about whether I was going to get my name on the log. Signed it EC1 in red ink and returned it to an obvious spot.TFTC

Couple of Finnish vanlifers traveling around this beautiful Australia with Matilda the campervan. Stopping here and there to enjoy life without any plans. After getting everything set up and visiting some friends, Mntti1 and I began our travels few months ago. After visiting Melbourne we headed to Great Ocean road. Fresh from visiting Peninsula hotsprings we took the ferry over to this side and stopped here also. All steps were found and in good condition! Thank you for the cache!

This was an incredible puzzle. Off to queenscliff for the next one

21-Sep-23
After 2seekers reported troubles, checked on the cache and everything is as it should be. Remnants of previous incarnation totally removed to avoid any confusion.

** Logged with CO permission **So much to say here but really I think its best if you go in not knowing anything like I did. I struck trouble the course of the find, had to consult old logs, and then contacted the COs, but with limited time in Queenscliff, had moved on when they replied. My name isnt in the log, but Ive been granted a find. Suffice to say, this is a great cache, and I highly recommend you visit it and give it a try. We are indeed lucky that there are COs out there that put this much effort into a hide. Definite FP from me, well done Phetlern.

04-Sep-23
Thank you for your patience, everything is back in place and the cache is once again, ready to be found.

Elements of this cache are still being repaired/replaced - April was a bit ambitious! Now looking at end of June, but hopefully sooner.

28-Feb-23
OM visit as a result of last log. Seems the cache has been trashed and components removed in the last 7 days. Cache off line for a couple of months - till end of April, when we hope to have it restored.

21-Feb-23
A lovely walk along the sun drenched walkway by the ocean followed by a clever cache, what more could one want? Well maybe some mozzie repellent! We felt like prey! We found the cache on the ground with one of the holders separated from the body. Easy Fav, T4TC

09-Jan-23
What a fantastic cache! We had great fun piecing together the various clues and marvelling at the unique camouflage along the way. Despite making an embarrassing attempt at spelling at the first step we made our way steadily through the cache and were soon rewarded with the final hiding place. I can't think of another hide like this that I've come across and this is why this game remains great fun, thanks for all your efforts Phetlern.

06-Jan-23
This is beautifully constructed. I’d come here to find my second dead Premier, and I had time for one more - the favourites made this the choice. Breezed through Step 1, loved the dymo at Step 2, and looked around to find dots where the hide should be. On the ground I found the camo, and a bit later the cache. I can see that putting it back right is a bit tricky - I did my best. Thanks Phetlern - I’ve added another favourite to your haul.

Out on a Christmas break with sir_spectre, exploring southern Victoria grabbing lots of smilies, finding caches in LGA's and of course signing a few more challenges.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.

31-Dec-22
Really not sure this cache it's a field puzzle, but it is at listed co ords. Found the first " clue " which lead to finding the second " clue " and then mogni found the cache. Well designed, well worth the fav points this cache has, so have another fav point from me. I can say it was entertaining. Nice location too.
Left with Mogni the day before Christmas to go down to Mount Gambier for Christmas Day. Then on the 27th left for Victoria. Plan A was to go to the Ottway Rangers, complete the Geo tour in Ballarat and then head to Geelong and take the Queenscliff ferry over to Sorrento then grabbing new LGA's on route to almost the New South Wales/Victoria border and the old 2001 cache near there. Also attending a community day event, a CITO and a couple of other events as well. Then head in to the high country and come back to SA in 11 days. Things didn't go to plan. Turns out that one of my almost new tyres was defective ( side wall blown out ) and blew in the ottway ranges on a narrow road in the rainforest, Drove to Melton to stay overnight and get a new tyre there, tyre machine broken and the other 5 tyre companies not open so off to geelong for a new tyre ( and some caches on the way and in geelong ) . The event we where going to attend in geelong didn't turn out, he was late by ALOT to his own event. Then to ballarat to same day since we had a b&b booked for the next few nights. Planned on getting the ferry at 1200 and ended up on the 400 pm ferry but we did attend a event and CITO in geelong. Then we drive into the rear end of a thunder storm with forecast 20 mm dropping for the next few days. Cancel the high country and change targets to letterbox D/T for fizzy grid only using letterboxes and same wirh the multi fizzy grid plus fizzy grid only using victorian caches plus any challenge caches we where near. Plus getting a few more victorian 2001 caches. And finally any caches that had 40 more more favourite points. Only got soaked to the bone for a couple of days but the water on the tracks was noticeable. On the return home tried to get the rest of the missing LGA's around the Melbourne CBD i missed in the last mega. Still a fun trip was had if not the planned one.

Heading home from Queenscliff we had to give this one a crack. Had us co fused for a mi use but soon had it in hand. Great cache. Great Camo. Thanks

Mr Dromaniax had headed off for Father's day pancake breakfast with his daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. The pancakes were delicious with bacon, egg and maple syrup, the pancakes were so fluffy, buttermilk is the secret.

He had noticed that this cache was back on line and as it is one of only three left on the bellarine to find he decided to pop in and visit today.

We had attempted this one night and had been deterred by someone who was sleeping rough right at GZ. Today there were no such problems and he quickly found four decoys which led him to a fifth. each of the decoys made finding the cache that much easier.

Unfortunately a couple of cache components were not where they were supposed to be , but a thorough search came up with the goods. The cache was signed and everything placed back to where they were clearly belonged.

We know why this cache has so many favorite points and we will be adding another today.

The cache is in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache Phetlern

Caching out Queenscliff with day1976. I had never been to this side of the bay before so it was a lovely change. Very nice area.
We bummed up the first bit but the hint helped and we worked it out in the end anyway. Found the main part of the cache on the ground, put it back where it should be, it's not staying very well so may need checking.

28-Aug-22
Enjoyed a day out with ilukaperi finding geocaches in Queenscliffe today. I had only ever found a handful of geocaches in Queenscliffe before, so that's why the location was chosen. Plus it was a good day as it had been 16 weeks since my last geocache find. So it was nice to be out again.

Took us a little while to get going with this one. I overthought the first step, but somehow muddled my way through and found the next step anyway, besides my confusion. Once I worked out that step, I realised how I'd stuffed up the first step and stumbled upon the second by accident. Anyhow, iluka found the third, but only because the camouflage had come away.

We signed the log and tried to replace as best we could, but its pretty delicate.

19-Aug-22
Component refreshed - all good to go!

Maintenance check - thanks for the heads-up 'wespro ', seems a 'delicate' component has been heavy handled!

*The "Gotta Sorta Isolate, But Can't Stay In The House" Adventure #9*
I'm Day 8 of my seven-day isolation period. I'm still feeling scratchy around the nose and throat, but SueHut has people coming over. I need to clear out, just in case. A no-contact Geocaching adventure in the offing!
So simple... yet so amazing. The multi you have when you don't have a multi. Be-conned beckoned. Following the steps, my jaw may have dropped, but I kept my beak-on. And despite my passage, the bee convoy continued around the winter blooms.
Enough cheap puns.
One serious note. When I got to "the last step", I found... an empty spot. The item required had become detached, and was on the ground. It was replaced as intended.
Thanks heaps, Phetlern!

Enjoying a few days in Melbourne with friends and today we headed south to the coast. Port Lonsdale beach is spectacular, and we spent sometime exploring rock pools. Walked along the path around Queenscliff but ran out of time and couldn’t complete our circuit. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining caches for us to find.
I have never done a traditional field puzzle before. That was fun.

Unfortunately, it would seem the vandals have discovered the location. Off-line for a few weeks to repair and rejuvenate. Thanks for the heads-up 'Mister Doctor'.

Staying at Point Lonsdale for a couple of nights in a delightful pet-friendly airBnB. What fun to see such a popular cache nearby.

We stopped by on the way to the dog beach but came up short. One element was discovered and the remains of another, but no cache.

The CO was quick to respond to my message, confirming there was supposed to be more to the story and pointing me in the right direction for the next stage so I returned to continue the search.

Despite the disappearance of some parts of this cache it was still a fun and clever hunt! Fave.

Really wanted to check this one out due to all the favourite points! Just when I thought I had part 1 figured out GeoMum tells me it's time for us to head home. I'm exhausted after an action-packed weekend and the heat isn't helping my braincells. Next time for sure, sounds amazing and I loovvveee field puzzles!

Took a few minutes to work out what was required here. The two boys were useless, having found sticks and started sword fighting. They helped find the first clue then gave up. Lots of work put into this one. Finally worked out the clues. Found the cache. Epic. Thanks.

A brilliant hide! The twists and turns it took for us to find this was similar to an Agatha Christie Novel.
But with the combined sleuth work of dad and son we eventually came up trumps.

After finding a couple of Laurie's nearby caches this older hide beckoned me.
In fact I have been here before when it was undergoing maintenance.
All in order here and part 1 I already knew what to do. Part 2 was soon underway and I had to make up my own rot13 grid as I had no phone on me. All good. All good with the final hide too so it must therefore be awarded a favourite point as so much work is on display here for a trad cache.
Thanks Phetlern

Sorry, wrong button... again..
Well after three visits, a lot of mumbling and Head scratching I got to stage two only to stall again. So a little lesson in code from Kia1 and I was back in the hunt.
Then of course I fell for the next con and started to mutter again...
But when I looked closer.....it was on to the final phase!
Success!
Well done on the placement and effort and thankyou for bringing me to this cache.

Thanks to 'Kia1 ' for the heads-up - placement checked and adjusted.

With the rest of the group 'long gone' Surprised, I figured that I'd give this one a '5-minute' shot. Once I started finding the red herrings though, my curiosity was piqued. With a bit of decoding, a bit of searching, a bit of guessing and a bit of luck Wink, I finally had the very clever stash in hand at 13:55 and a great big smile on my face. Big Grin

How could I not give it a fave point? Well, I can't so you've got yet another one. Big Grin

TNLNSL, although a couple of our geocoins had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks Phetlern.

**PS:** The logsheet is incredibly full so I ended up signing my name up near the top (and took a pickie for reference JiC).

After the event today I decided to stay around in the area and find a few caches. Now for a traditional cache this one was definitely a little different. I loved each and every element. Worthy of a favourite point for sure.

**Thanks to Phetlern for placing this cache.**

This spot is quite a landmark and we have been here a few times now. We managed all our tasks but as Rob says it needs some attention before you lose some parts.

15-Dec-19
On an evening stroll to check on the beach we needed to walk past this interesting cache and decided we had to give it a go, even though we were wearing beach footwear, not caching, close toe, prickle proof, solid sole type... (I'm still getting the prickles out of my thongs.... the ones that go right through to the foot bit)

We soon found a con or two and were had for a moment, that's when J1 went off in search of who knows what no where near GZ...

C1 and H were soon onto it and had gathered the info and made the find.

The log book is completely full and unfortunately we had already used our last replacement log earlier in the day.

We were a little conned and enjoyed the find a fav point from us.

Another mild day, and I spent the morning caching around Queenscliff with The Morris.
We then lunched in town (award winning pies), and set off for home.

It always takes a little while to get my mine around a field puzzle, when I have been expecting a traditional.
We worked out was through it though, we each one finding part of the puzzle.
The cache needs a bit of maintenance as the logbook is chockers, and a couple of magnets need renewing.
Thanks, Robmc.
