2826 - I visited the Dam on a cloudy and humid afternoon with a few showers and clouds hanging around the area surrounding the lake. I went for a pleasant stroll after completing a few of the Adventure Lab locations, the Earth cache and then this one was next. I had a bit of a look in the likely location for this one as a few muggles were around, but after about 10 minutes or so, one group of them was safely out of sight around the corner, with another up near the cafe area. I took the opportunity to look a bit harder and found the cache at 5:14pm. Thanks for placing this cache here Herbz and for its ongoing maintenance.
Drove out here with my parents this morning to see the dam and do some walking. They're used to my geocache stops so helped me look for this one but after a good 10 min or so none of us could find it Kia ora from New Zealand
Found it, but it may need maintenance because the magnet seems to have lost its stick
Out for a Wednesday Wander with 1MinnieMoo to clear a few of our mutual unfound caches in the area.We were completing the AL here and 1MM remembered that there was a cache here that she had found but could not remember where it had been located. We searched for quite a while between muggles walking past but could not locate the cache.
A bit of a hunt here for this one, but we got it with the help of some photos. What a fantastic place, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit here.
Wow this was a great cache!!Took a chat with friend but finally found it!!Out and about with Lotus car club. Great view and great cache!!TFTC
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location. (HaHa). In your dreams, these cachers do. [:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort. Devilish Brilliant and Clever I like it Another one off the list TTBLNSL TFTC/TFTH/TFBUH - Herbz [^]
A lovely day spent around this area with Kolour and chamad collecting caches as we went.
This one took us a while - not only because it was hard to find, there were so many muggles about.
Persistence paid off though, chamad eventually made the find.
Thanks Herbz for the cache.

Willis007, chamad and I were down this way for a target Wherigo cache and we decided to visit Hinze Dam for some caching before heading home - my first visit to the dam.
This took longer than it should have. It was the first place I felt around but I didn’t find it. With the three of us looking everywhere without success, we came back to my original place and chamad, who has a longer reach than me, managed to retrieve it. Very clever. Tftc

After this morning’s walk, Willis007, Kolour and myself continued on and did a few caches around the area, this was one of them.
We decided to head up and do the local adventure lab and a few caches that were in passing. It was a nice lab and the caches were fun and a little tricky. This took way longer than it should have. While we searched in this spot a couple of times, it wasn’t until I had a good study of the area and found the tricky hide, nice one. Although with the new fencing in play, I think the terrain rating may have to change as no one in a wheelchair will grab this now, still a cool hide tho.
Thanks for the nice hiding spot. We signed the log and replaced as found and then continued on with the days caching.

Had fallen in to view, which made this easier. Replaced into presumed usual position. TFTC
Sure was stealth! Found it but didn’t carry a pencil to write in the log - rookie mistake! TFTC
Had the day off so decided to visit this part of Qld I haven’t been to before.
You would think the title would have been a clue but off I headed over the spillway heading to the far end. Got about half way across when I realised I had overshot the mark.
Back at GZ and some muggles where standing in the shade reading the information boards. Waited in the shade doing the same till they moved on.
It didn’t take too long till I had my hand on the cache. Loved it.

The three of us were here on holiday, and stopped here to look around and find a few caches.
This was a very challenging hide, but we found it after 10 minutes of searching.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Herbz.

Spent 5 minuete looking finally found it after looking at logs very good spot tftc
Live around the area amazing views but couldn't find sadly will come back again to find happy caching
Sometimes, as an Australian, this game makes me really nervous. I don't wanna stick my fingers in holes and find redbacks! Don't worry, you're safe here. Tftc.
After a busy day at our granddaughter Harper's birthday party at the dam we went for a walk to get this cache. Muggles everywhere but we did manage to retrieve sign and return without being noticed. Very clever hide. TFTC
Lucky find. Lucky the lady who placed the cache was around. Cheers. TFTC JenneG and Budgy. North Nowra.

A quick trip out of cold Melbourne to sunny Queensland! I love checking out dams and wires whenever we come across them in our travels - this one is a cool one! We grabbed the information we needed for the nearby earthcache then I was lucky enough to grab this one! Favourite point added - awesome use of this type of hide in this cool location. Thanks for the cache Herbz.

Had to avoid a number of muggles today however after a quick duck and a weave found it. TFTC. Replaced in same location, no pen to sign (out of practice here!) but have photo of log to prove find. Beautiful day at the dam
In between workers and muggles I didn’t get a really good go at searching for this tricky little guy. Knew what I was looking for but no luck today. Hoping it’s reachable for shorties like me?
Got it, after using a stick to push it and retrieve it from the ground, now it’s back in a higher trickier spot, but now reachable.

Had fallen down to the ground and was in plain sight but very difficult to retrieve. Got it eventually, signed and returned to where I think it came from, but the magnetism is very weak and it may not stay in place
On a day trip through the hinterland and stopped in at the dam for lunch. A clever cache and a quick find for us today. TFTH
Came a few years ago dnf but back today and found it no pen but a picture of the log
Third time trying to find this one. So glad to have finally found it. Beautiful day for it. Log full so pic should hopefully help TFTC!
Found while out on Dearstranger's birthday! Definitely a unique cache, not one I've seen before which is always fun.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
Found with some geo newbies. A favourite point from me, and a truely unique cache!
TFTC.
Found while on a day out and about with Fearless_Ren.
Wasn’t to long of a search before Fearless had it in her hands.
Couldn’t sign log book but took a pic if you need it?

Having been for a damn fine walk earlier today, our little group (myself, oz_bean_counter, peanut209, 1MinniMoo and Captain Terror) reconvened for another dam good walk ... and weirdly enough started here. Took us a little while to discover this one, nicely hidden, and armed with a fresh logsheet proceeded to do what was needed to get it included in the container. With our names on it. I have never been on this Dam wall before, so thankyou for a lovely walk.
Thanks Herbz for entertaining me at this location.

After a journey along a razorback or two, to the peak of Pages Pinnacle, it was time to explore Hinz Dam with a less adventurous elevation. I loved our time in the sun, walking along the dam wall, laughing with friends, and generally getting up to no good. What happens on tour stays on tour, am I right???
Great caches out this way. Many thanks to the lovely COs - you are salt of the earth kind of people, and I love having you in my world.

24/4/21 Find #4754
The main plan of the day today was to finally conquer Page’s Pinnacle, so at crazy-o’clock this morning, Pprime and I set off from Fangsoki’s and headed to pick up oz_bean_counter and peanut209 and grab some coffee before making our way down here to meet up with Captain Terror, Mr and Mrs Herbz, and their muggle friend Miyuki.
With that Dam amazing adventure done it was time for us to head off for some more adventure, and as we told Herbz we were planning to head here, it was decided between us all that we could run some maintenance for Herbz as well.
So off we headed and soon found ourselves the skinniest parking space (well, only just excluding the motorbike parking) to pull into.
A quick check of what we would need for the nearby Earthcache and we were off.
And it wasn’t long before we were at GZ and beginning our search as surreptitiously as possible.
Pprime came up with the goods, and then set about finding a way to add a new log without the additional required supplies for this particular hide.
With log signed and sorted, it was dam well time to start the rest of this nice flat walk - nice and flat like a ridge line should be, right Pprime/oz_bean_counter?
Thanks for the cache Herbz.

Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I had planned a hike in Springbrook National Park. We descended into Waringa Pool and Purling Brook Falls, and were lucky to get a car park given how many people were enjoying Easter Friday today. A great little walk followed by a nearby lunch. We then scoped out the Tweed Caldera at Best of All Lookout.
On our return home, and given the recent heavy rain, we made a stop off at Hinze Dam, and greeted by the significant water release into the creek/river below.
Dam, this cache took a while to find! I had suspected the cache hide type, but it still took some effort in locating. Our searches needed to be discrete as muggles passed by, and it was only looking at a few past logs, that it gave us a better hint. Finally, the cache was found, and a great cache hide indeed. The logbook was well and truly full though, and so we had to stamp over a few other names/signatures. Thanks Herbz for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Not a successful day for us! Better luck next time! Back at the café, we also found out that we did not have a working pen with us... Yep - we are noobs
In amongst what little space we could manage between muggles today, neither of us could locate the cache. Got a decent idea of what kind of hide it could be, but we had no luck.
I knew what I was looking for, I knew where to look and I used the right tool. And it still took me multiple attempts to find it! Sneaky and fun. Thanks.
Having driven past Hinze Dam many times over the years it was the first time I have ventured down this road. Am so glad I did - what an impressive place - rare to be able to walk along the top of a dam wall. Peppa checked all the logical places while I read previous logs - a photo gave me a hint and Peppa quickly had the cache in hand.
It was PirateLinda who made the suggestion that enabled me to make the find even though I’d rummaged there already... as others have said, the log is full, but I marked P & PL sideways... tftc... very clever...
