Didnt find this one today may be missing looked all around the fence and railing but no luck may come back another time. ??
Adding our name to the list of DNFs here sadly. Looked on the way out and back with no luck
We looked for all kinds of sneaky places. We even found one spot that would have been a very sneaky place. Alas we had to hit the DNF button
A lovely day spent around this area with Kolour and chamad collecting caches as we went.
This one also took us a while, in the end it was a joint effort. There was no log, we signed a new log and put it snugly in the cache.
Thanks Herbz for the cache a fav point from me.

After this morning’s walk, Willis007, Kolour and myself continued on and did a few caches around the area, this was one of them.
We decided to head up and do the local adventure lab and a few caches that were in passing. It was a nice lab and the caches were fun and a little tricky. With time ticking it was do we go or do we go home for this one. Eventually we went for the cache (knew we would). However, this took way longer than it should have. While we searched in this spot a couple of times, it was not until I had a good study of the area and found the tricky hide, nice one. We had to replace the log on this one.
Thanks for the nice hiding spot. We signed the log and replaced as found and then continued on with the days caching.

Willis007, chamad and I were down this way for a target Wherigo cache and we decided to visit Hinze Dam for some caching before heading home - my first visit to the dam.
After finding the other one on the dam wall, we thought this would be similar so easy. Silly us! This took just as long to find. The others had noticed something a bit different and after a closer look, decided it was the very clever cache. It was a little out from my phone coordinates. Chamad used tweezers to retrieve the logbook but nothing was in it. The CO had previously mentioned that the lid was missing, so it must have come out. We’ve placed some paper inside which we hope will last.
It was a very busy day at the dam, we must have looked a bit odd at times. Tftc

Too clever for me. I'm NOT going to claim it is not there, but I'm damned if I can find it.
Very sneaky Dam the Middle love it. This one we found, DAM START we didn’t… might have been too many people that assisted in my lack of a find.
Checked this cache today. Replaced log book but needs a second visit to secure the lid.
Have finally found a replacement lid that will fit. Will replace asap.
Although the lid is missing - the container will still be in place as it would be impossible to remove accidently. So even though it's disabled until we replace the lid, this one is still in play.
If you find it and the log is missing - you are welcome to leave a temporary log and claim a find.

Well we made the walk with very tired
g/kids. Unfortunately we searched everywhere but believe this is no longer there. We then read the comments and it hasn't been found since December 2021.
No smiley today for us.

Might not have looked hard enough; but cranky small children mean turning around and heading back for icecream!
Arrgh this one is still eluding me! I have tried three times!! This time I made a friend though, I’m sure he was trying to tell me where it was, only I don’t speak bird
Thinking I may have found where it should be but nothing inside. Will try again another time. Good place for walk anyhow.
Another great hide along the dam! Sneaky but satisfying haha! Found on Dearstranger's birthday
Thanks for the cache!

Having been for a damn fine walk earlier today, our little group (myself, oz_bean_counter, peanut209, 1MinniMoo and Captain Terror) reconvened for another dam good walk and now we are in the middle of it. We collectively had heard this one was tricksy tricksy, but a methodical hunt (less muggles out here - although we did spot a cute baby snake off away from GZ that curiously took a look at us and left to play hide-and-no-seek) soon enough turned it up. A bit of logbook love here and we were on our way again.
Thanks Herbz for entertaining me at this location.

After a journey along a razorback or two, to the peak of Pages Pinnacle, it was time to explore Hinz Dam with a less adventurous elevation. I loved our time in the sun, walking along the dam wall, laughing with friends, and generally getting up to no good. What happens on tour stays on tour, am I right???
Great caches out this way. Many thanks to the lovely COs - you are salt of the earth kind of people, and I love having you in my world.

24/4/21 Find #4755
It was absolutely glorious weather today, so what better way to spend it than with an equally glorious walk along the Hinze Dam Wall with friends.
We had spent the morning conquering Page’s Pinnacle, so this nice flat walk was just what our bodies needed to stretch out post hike, and with CO’s approval, we were on a maintenance mission at the same time.
This second cache did take a little time to find, although I was slightly distracted by a cute little snake, and oz_bean_counter apparently distracted by my backside, which didn’t exactly mean all eyes searching the entire time. Also during this time, Captain Terror and peanut209 showed their rebellious nature, but finally the cache was found, and the appropriately required maintenance performed.
Thanks for the cache Herbz.

Found it but the top was on the ground and no log to be found. Sent photo to owner. With deaftiger and deafsanta
A surprisingly quick find. If I were looking at any other angle, this may have taken longer. Despite the amount of people walking along the dam, we managed to arrive at GZ during a quieter moment.

Touring with our van Hilda the HiAce. Last night we stayed in Kingscliff and today was time to cross the border. Clever little cache, tftc!
Out for a day of caching fun with Richmond Lad. A bit of a search and Richmond Lad located the cache. With our names added to the log and the cache returned as found, we continued on our stroll. TFTC
Out and about today caching around Gilston, Hinze Dam and Numinbah. A variety of caches were found and placed by various cachers. Thoroughly enjoyed the countryside and the spots where they were placed. TFTC Herbz - appreciate where you have placed them. Much has changed here since I last visited the dam, many many, many years ago. Where I knew was a picnic area near the dam is now part of the extended dam wall. Giving a FP for bringing me here. Thank you.
Watawieh from Norfolk Island South Pacific.
It was a beautiful sunny day on the Gold Coast. Time to go and find some geocaches at the Hinze Dam. Sneaky little cache hide. TFTC

Second time here this week after not being able to find it on Tuesday. But an extra clue from someone I just talked to (new caching connection for me) and that did the trick. Still a hard search, but at least I knew it was there, which makes all the difference. Thanks for the cache and bringing me here
this was a very cool hide, haven’t seen one this well done before, took me around 10 minutes but with the limited hiding spots wasn’t too long before I narrowed it down. Fav point. Thanks
Took the opportunity for a short walk out here offer finishing work on the Gold coast.
Sunday arvo drive out to Hinze Dam area to catch a few caches. This one had been muggled when we previously found parts of it. All good today and a sneaky hide and a fave from us. TFTC Herbz
Found it on the ground good hiding spot yay - cap had fallen out , several on the ground.
Omg, I have seen similar hides but this is much trickier. tftc took me about 15 min minimum.
Took a while but finally found it, was so sure it was where it was but took the other half to inspect it to figure out the solution. Thanks for the clever hide
Took me awhile to find it. Broke my pen to retrieve the log. Came back with proper tott.
TFTC Herbz. Very sneaky hide! All good.
Pls consider attending the Queensland Outback Geo Muster, visit

Wow. What an amazing hide. I looked and looked and it wasn’t until I thought about some other caches I had seen. Good hide.
Ooooh this one was super sneaky! Love it. Worth all the favourite points, here have another one. TFTC!
Had to wait out a few muggles here, when krcamber says I found it, very sneaky this one. TFTC
Yay!! I found it. What a lovely one... thanks for hiding and maintaining it
We checked on this one today. The container is still there but the logbook and lid were missing, now replaced. Please make sure that the lid is firmly in place after signing the logbook.
Another thorough search with no joy! We did find what we think is the cache container and will message CO as to whether it has been damaged.
Another wonderful, tricky hide. I actually had my hand on it on several occasions before identifying it for what it is. Thanks for the cache and a nice walk Herbz!
This was too tricky for me today. Found another down near the beginning of the dam afterwards but didn't walk back. Next time!
Loved this clever little hideout, thanks Herbz and a favorite point from me, TFTC
Just returned from my holiday and catching up on the logs from my fantastic trip. I have seen (and hidden) these kinds of containers before and, even so, was fooled at first by this clever hide. Gave me a new idea to use back home too. Favorite for location and container. Signed log, Thanks
Sunday 23 April 2017 - a glorious warm sunny/overcast Autumn day at Hinze Dam for brunch with family and friends finding 2 from 4 caches. Sadly, and despite 7 adults and 2 kids searching a 10 m radius, both bridge micros were far too clever for all of us to locate. Maybe some other time. Thx Herbz for the opportunity - maybe next time.
A very tricky find. Tried many similar but had not found one hidden this way. Visiting from NZ and came to see thee dam overflowing after Cyclone Debbie. A fav ppint
TFTC, devious little hide, took longer than it should have to nab this one but saw something that was'nt needed, I'm glad I had an extraction tool handy to get the log. Have a F.P for the views and the hide.
We had to wander awhile until the topless 70+ year-old gran bustled (sorry, couldn't pass that one up) past us, followed terribly slowly by pop, also topless. At least they kept pants on lol! Well we searched and searched but couldn't spot the blatantly obvious until after we had walked down to dam end and found that one. Yes we passed gran and pops again, still blowin in the breeze.
Herbz gets another nod for this one. TFTC.

OMG, you don't expect to come across and elderly lady walking along Hinze dam topless, but there she was, oblivious to all. Anyway, just glad there weren't any kids around. Tricky cache indeed, spotted it twice without realizing it's clever disguise. Thanks Herbz
Very clever hide thank you. The lid of this one is a little crumbly though. A nice walk over the dam, I enjoyed the little swallows company
Staying nearby on holidays for a week, we decided to explore Hinze dam - somewhere we have never visited before. Seeing there were a few good caches along the way we set off on the walk. After giving up looking for the first cache along the wall, we continued along. Once we reached here, 2 things became obvious: First, it didn't seem like we were going to find this cache in a hurry either, and second - we were only half way along the wall at this point!! Very deceiving as you look along the wall when you first start walking!
Anyway, we weren't going to give up on this one - (we already had one to look for again on the way out) - and persistence finally paid off. I was pretty happy to finally spot this hide!
Thanks for the very clever cache Herbz. It was a really great walk along the wall today - even when it started raining on the way back!

The further away you get from the visitor centre the less tourists there are, so it's a bit easier to have a search for a cache. There were heaps of little hidey holes for Geohubby and I to have a look in for this one and after an initial search we had to stop because a group of muggles were coming past. While we were waiting for them to go by, I noticed something peculiar at the same time Geohubby did. As soon as the muggles were a safe distance away, Geohubby was off like a shot - funny as I'm supposed to be the geocaching fanatic in the family . Oooooh, that is so sneaky, love this hide! Log signed we continued on our walk across the dam. TFTC Herbz, giving this one a fave point
Stairman1 was training for a 5 day hike in NZ in early 2017 and we decided to join company with SeffnJarah, Swellerfungus, and Crooked Pete. After completing another challenging cache earlier we decided to take the afternoon easy. There were so many muggles around but we finally made the find. All good here.
