Logs
Stopped briefly on the way back from Rattl's BBQ, D&I explored a few options but to no avail. Will be back.
Was just about to give up when i saw something. I thought that must be it, at a quick check i thought wrong again, then a more thorough look aha, found it! Very clever hide, lots of different types around Whanganui, I'm very impressed. Tftc. Not a peaceful, scenic walk, but well worth the search.
21 May 2021, took us a while but we got it!!!!!! Whooooopppp whoooppp. Don’t give up trust me!!! We put it back where we found it
After the last log saying there was no container and no log, we took GeoGrandad for a blatt and checked the cache. It's all safe and accounted for in its hidey spot. Will have to message the last cacher re what exactly they found. All good to go.
Nice find from little man KJ, he was hoping for a swap however no contents or log... KJ left a special key ring from the Awa as the hide was next to the river off for a ice cream from McDonalds
After taking part in the nearby parkrun, I wanted to grab a couple of cache finds before leaving Wanganui. I appreciated the clear instructions on where to park and then safely walk to this cache site. It wasn't exactly an instant find but I soon discovered the cleverly hidden cache. Thanks, RachelsRiffRaff.
Couldn't find it. Though as it's a deserted area I'm sure it's here somewhere
Once again I find myself in Wanganui for the weekend (up from Welly). Just about to head back home and thought I'd grab a couple more on the way out. Low traffic volume meant I could park close to the location, and cache was soon spotted. All safe and dry here. TFTC.
#11,711. A nice little walk via the Cobham Bridge Cycleway over the Whanganui River heading east to Putiki, Whanganui. GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Relatively quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

What a great sunny day to be out caching. Loved the hide and now completed the series. Plan to head off tomorrow and find the mystery. Thanks.
Find number 6385. In Wanganui with a German friend who is doing part of the Te Araroa trail. After dropping her off at where she had previously go to I spent the day caching. I had my bicycle so spent the day on the cycle trails each side of the river.
On my return journey so crossed the bridge. Hide spotted and log taken to the shade of the bridge for signing. Thank you for the placement.

Quick find find here. Nicely hidden. Spotted it and used the hint to confirm. Tftc.
It took a while for me to find this cache. When I found it, at 1105Hr on 11 Jan 2019, my GPS read that I was 8m from the given coordinates.
S39° 56.765 E175° 02.861 might be closer to the log!

Have made a new container and put in place today. The cache size is a small but the container...is not. There is absolutely no need to go bashing about in the cutty grass. Enjoy.
Checked this one out, and whether its a case of 'cache creep' or the creeping cutty grass (which wasn't there before) this one is too hard to find without being cut up. The area has seen rather a lot of growth. So we'll disable it for now, and organise a replacement until the foliage dies back (and they do spray it as well) or we can get in there with heavy armory to find the original. We'll take an epirb with us just in case LOL.
Had to phone a friend for this one. It was well tucked away, almost out of reach. TFTC. Will have to wait until last of this series is back up and running before I can grab final Mystery cache
Found on a round trip in NZ. A stop at the place and signed the log book. This took several minutes to find and the log book was wet. TFTC.
I had picked up the required info for north south and west quite some time ago so today on a little road trip from the naki was a good chance to pick up east. Took me awhile to workout where the track was but I did stumble across the info for the multi thats now here. Stood at gz for awhile while waiting for his to settle and yup was standing right next to it just had to look a little harder. Think I Wil leave the final for another day
Another big day in Wanganui with Pagenz so please excuse the copy and paste logs but will add a note to each one as well. Slowly getting the numbers we need for the bonus. TFTC
There was only place the cache matched the coords, cutty grass is closer than I expected. T4tc
Heading home after attending rattll's xmas party and a couple of hours caching in and around wanganui this was too be a nice quick find here ,the cutty grass is getting closer otherwise all good here, signed the log and replaced as found.we had not been in this area before so thanks for bringing us here.TFTC
Had to come to New Plymouth for a work meeting last night so grabbing the opportunity to collect a few caches on the way back this morning. Day is wet and cold, but the weather is improving the further away from NP I get. Pulled off the highway and walked down to the GZ. Cache was quickly spotted and the formalities achieved. TFTC
We didn't find today, it was cold and windy, but will try again. One minute the app was saying we are close, the next we were ages away.
Shouldn't be in the cutty grass! Looks like a case of 'cache creep'. Will add to our maintenance list.
What a mish had us going nuts nice hide, very hard but glad we didn't give up . Ps so in the cutty grass lol.
Glad I didn't have to go near the cutty grass. A quick location of the cache. Thanks for the placement
Having a day trip to Wanganui with Casey2201 and Missymoomee from the Naki. The DNFs didn't get us down. Hint was helpful. Cheers
Found quickly today by master 6 with guidance from mum Whittaker - tnln tftc
Stopped by and replaced with a waterproof log in TWO plastic bags. Please replace in the plastic bags when signing is done and ensure the lid to the cache is sealed securely.
Took forever to find this cache lol, but it should have six kids searching for ages which kept us busy...decided to give them a hand and miss 7 found it with a bit of guidance from mama log book is soaked...tftc
Thanks for the hide. Now to find the rest. Log/Cache very wet/ GPS/ good HINT/ did put me wrong for a wee bit. TFTC.
Nice size cache with a few treasures forth time at this one finally got it . Phew.
After a quick stop on the outside of the bridge, a little hunting around required for this one, but in the end found fine with a slightly damp log, nice spot. This one is a wrap. Mission accomplished TFTC! Blenheim Bear

Not as simple as I thought... tracks were everywhere. ... cache slighly wet. Discovered that was found by someone else just before us..
The compass was pointing the right way so was able to pick up the third point most enjoyable only north to do now TFTC
Could not locate on last visit and was slightly worried about cache as of possible locations and with how far the flood came up at this point. trudging through mud and scrub alike I failed to obtain the treasure that my boys and myself sought out.
After reading that it is indeed where it should be,we attempted this yesterday. Also after realizing the terrain difficulty is so low, we narrowed our search to a more reasonable confinement and the sought out treasure was soon in hand. Signed and sealed and placed back for the next adventurous explorer to discover.

Finally managed to get to check on some caches today - wasn't sure how far the water came up at this location but cache was in place. Was wet inside so dried out - log book is dry, thanks to the last cacher who sealed the bag (chocolate fish to you!) all good to go.
didn't find it but there where are pair of classes I left them next to the retaining wall
checked on a maintenance run yesterday - thanks to previous cacher for drying things out, but was a bit manky so have taken home to dry it out properly and will replace soon.
Was half filled with water, luckily the log was in a small sealed bag so was reasonably dry. I dried contents as much as I could in the sun and returned. I think people need to make sure the seal is in place and the lid is on tight when they return cache. TNLNSL everything was all musty and smelly. TFTC
nice walk to the bridge traffic busy. i liked the size of the cache. look forward to getting number 5. SL. TFTC

Headed south with C&D, for a full weekend of caching, with the first cache being found at 6.00pm Friday night and finishing with an Event in Hamilton at 1.30pm on Sunday afternoon. Both of us had certain caches we were targeting for the Geo Licence series, as well as finding anything else we driving past, or near. All up we found 165 caches, travelled just over 1700kms and had around 5 hours sleep.
All in all it was an EPIC adventure, exploring in and around the Whanganui to Dannevirke area. We found some great caches along the way and saw some great sights. Thanks to everyone for placing all the caches.
Jumped out of the car and found the cache while C&D turned the car around to come back and pick me up.

A fairly quick find, in a strong cold wind, and now we have all the necessary information for the final cache, when we work out what it is, as it doesn’t seem to be named in any of the individual caches. TFTC
A bit of a caching trip in the company of HKCB both of us endeavoring to know off a chunk of the requirements for the Geocaching License Series (different stages, different requirements for each of us), so what better excuse for a road trip.
Between 6.30pm Friday and 1,30pm Sunday I collected approx 140 caches (HKCB=155) and many of these needing to be a great distance from home, so little sleep, so much caching
Some figures for the trip were
1/. approx 1700 kms
2/. Caches mentioned above.
3/. some very memorable caches in Wanganui
4/. lots of laughter and lies
5/. 4 hours sleep
HKCB made a quick grab of this one while I turned the car around
thanks for the placement

After a few trips to this I finally found it and was kicking myself as I was in the wrong place previous visits. Thank u. Added trinkets but didn't take as I thinks others would enjoy the trinkets more
A well deserved favourite point! Not my favourite place anymore but a very challenging hide for us! Thanks again RRR!!
Headed over to Wanganui with Capperz, Tommygun9 and Hunterhillson for an afternoon of caching. This one took some searching. Spent a few minutes hunting before one of the party noticed the recent update in the coords. Moved off to the new location and found relatively quickly. First to find the new logbook?? Thanks for the cache and the smiley.
This one took much longer than it should have due to most of us using old information but once the correct information was identified it was quickly found, and in a much better location.
Out on Whanganui caching mission, took a bit to find this one..but got there in the end! TFTC!
No good today. If I ever lose my keys I'm gonna come here and see who found this cache ...
How do I delete my log, as the something i found was not the cache, but have come back to look again. And still no find.
Thanks

Deleted the tumeke log - wasn't expecting the new placement to be so difficult......
Finished the replacement cache - have placed slightly away from last position but not too far away. Safe parking co-ords and close parking are still valid, just the co-ords and hint have changed. Hopefully it won't go missing again. And no, IT IS NOT IN THE CUTTY GRASS - we wouldn't do that to you. LOL. Enjoy
Had a really really really good look yesterday and bugger! looks like it has gone. Will get onto replacing asap.
I came to this cache with a fellow cacher who had not found this one
After him looking for 10 mins I joined the Hunt
It wasn't where I found it previously & wasn't in the surrounding area.
I'm convinced this has been plundered/muggled.
