Trouve I was afraid people would think I was stealing their mail. But I found it pretty quickly. Very random, I love that. Tftc
Driving back to Nelson from a great day at Abel Tasman NP. Picked up this one along the way. Quick find at GZ, TFTC!
I needed four finds for today's calendar loops, so in spite of the rain, I had to go out to find this one. TFTC.
We are on our long-awaited journey around the world in 99 days. Second try after canceling in 2020.
Our third stop after Los Angeles and Hawaii is New Zealand.
This time was of course used to find some geocaches here.
Today we were searching for the Traditional **Round The Pine (Nelson)**
Thank to the Hints and the good coordinates the little box was found quickly!
After signing the logbook there is a new smile on our geocaching map!
At least we would like to take this opportunity to thank bumandworker for creating and maintaining this Traditional.
Greetings from Nuermberg/Germany

Today I was going around kaiteriteri looking for geocaches up these roads and this was the first one we found. Looking around the tree for a minute till I found it. TFTC
There aren’t many caches you can reach from your car … and you can almost with this one! Quick PNG en route from Marahau to Richmond today.
Out visiting kaiteriteri and thought I'd try and pick this one up on a walk. Great spot for hiding! Tftc
Thanks for the cache.
Out on a geocaching roadie today while my muggle partner plays some golf. Want to pick a couple of the geotour caches out this way and also fill one of the holes on my DT grid
Haven't been out this way before so enjoyed the sights on a bueatiful Tasman day

It is a long weekend (Anzac Weekend) and NZDi wanted a few days away. We spent a few days in Motueka over Easter and intended to tack a couple of days at Kaiteriteri to that trip, but end up staying at Mot, so this trip is to make up for that. Our intention was to come across on Friday, spend two nights at the camping ground, then head home. But we enjoyed the first two days so much, we tacked another day onto it and will go home on Monday.
Today is day three of our holiday and being Anzac Day, first up is to attend an Anzac service before any geocaching is contemplated. This year I chose the Riwaka service. If I am away from home on Anzac Day I always attend a local service in the area where I am. That way I have been to dozens of different services around the country.
After the service, we packed a picnic lunch and headed towards Marahau, caching along the way. This was our second find on our way to Marahau. It also was a QEF PnG after waiting for a cyclist struggling up the hill to go past.

#1477. Day 4 of a 9 day caching holiday in the Tasman region with GB Leader. After travelling from Picton to Nelson, we arrived in Kaiteriteri yesterday. Walked from our Little Kaiteri accommodation for an early morning caching expedition. Then decided to hit the road after lunch on the Coffee Cruise Split Apple Rock cruise, for a scenic drive to Marahau. This was the fourth find of the day. Initial search proved unsuccessful, until GB Leader spotted the cache lying on the ground down the bank. Pretty sure that wasn’t where it was meant to be, so relocated into the cache name item at head high level. Greetings from Wellington!

And that’s the Wonders of the World souvenir completed, with the final Solar System icon done.

Needed to have a good look for this cache. Just as well hubby was with me as I wouldn't have been able to grab it without him. Thanks for the cache
A quick park & grab while in the area with SJT_NZ getting a bit of a leg stretch and explore. Thanks b&w for the cache, all in good order.
And that's exactly what we did - drive around the pine. An instant find in the first place looked. All in good order - signed log and replaced as found. Thanks B&W for the cache.
We are down in the Nelson/Motueka area for the weekend and a family gathering. Managing to find some caches along the way. Overall we found caching quite challenging in the area as it turned out with a larger number of DNF's than we are used to. However this one was a lovely surprise to find it. We left some pathtags too in caches where possible. Nice pretty spot. We were on a morning drive around Kaiteriteri area to fill in the morning prior to our family lunch. Was thrilled we found this one. SL. TFTC.
Abel Tasman NP today! This morning we went to Kaiteriteri for a boat trip all the way north to Totaranui. In the afternoon little walk to some viewpoints with some caches, also a virtual. Also visited the Split Apple, answers to be sent! Favo for the earthcache, the highlight landmark here! Late afternoon we still had a nice walk on the coastal track with some more caches, but also some dnf's. High muggles area here... kids still played in the sea for a while. Now back to Mapua for our first family New Year's Eve dinner ever!!!

I went back out to Kaiteriteri to find a few caches that I left a couple days ago.
I turned around a bit further along the road.
Cheers for the cache.

A quick one on the way back to Nelson. A bit of a laugh when the straight line distance keeps going up and down as you drive the road and the driver gets confused
Quick park and reach for this one. Problem with round containers is they can roll out when you are stretching to put it back, but safely in place now. TFTC
Quick find after visiting the beach. Unfortunately the road to Collingwood was closed so we need an other plan for to day. We say TFTC and greetings from Germany.
12:49:00 PM. Out for a drive around while on holidays from Australia. It is a shame about all the damage done from the weekends rain. A quick park and grab. The better half managed the retrieve but left me to return the cache. Log signed. Thanks bumandworker for the cache.
Found easily with a taller person, very wet inside though and hard to write on
Our pickup in Kaiteri made, we headed back to Marahau, collecting a couple of roadside caches on the way. This was a tall order. tftc
Sur le retour de notre super journée dans la baie. Belle cache ! Bisous de la France !
Quick find. Log was saturated and the bag was split, so we added a new log and bag, but have kept the old one in as well, in case this has the chance to be dried out in the future. No chance today though, but TFTC B&W
On our trip to Kaiteriteri we went around the tree ... and finally found the cache. The paper is very wet!!

Went around the pine a couple of times, and then made the find. The log is quite wet today. Cheers.
Exploring around Motueka, Riwaka and Marahau today. There are a few caches around here!!
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Nice one! Glad I found this BEFORE my upcoming hand surgery. Needed all four limbs! Gnarly old thing, isn't she?
Great parking. In fact, I wasn't watching the GPS. I saw the pullover and thought there should be a cache there! TFTC! SLTNLN

We were very grateful for the good pull off area here with a very big vintage car rally going through in groups of six, some of whom seemed to be not cognisant of the 'keep left' rule.
As soon as I realised where the cache was I reverted to one of my favourite positions and directed hazedarus to make the retrieval.
Thank you bumandworker.

I was with Paddle Chick when she got this cache unfortunately I wasn't cacher then so had to make the stop today so I could retrieve it .I am sure the tree must have grown since we were here last, unless I have shrunken .Thanks for the cache .Bumandworker
With a few hours up our sleeve before the Godzone pursuit race starts tomorrow... Thought it would be a good time to take a walk and break in the new shoes lol
I came over to New Zealand to meet my son, who was staying for nearly six months on the other side of the world. Our intension is, to travel now for 4 weeks through this fantastic land and visiting a lot of fine spots on both islands.
Met in Auckland, our first trip led us to the Far North with some spectacular locations. It was a lot of driving, but we think, it was worth the result.
The second part of our travelling route led us to the south. Going via Hamilton with some fine locations, Hobbiton was an absolutely must of our "unexpected journey" . Went then to Tauranga with a hard upclimb to Mt. Maunganui, visited Rotorua to see lot of vulcanic activities, have had a lot of fun with Zorbing and Claybird shooting and drove then to Taupa, to doing Skydiving.
Napier with it's beautiful Art Deco district and the great Aquarium was the next stop.
Final destination on the North Island was Wellington, were we visited some great places and met some friends from Germany.
After crossing Cook Strait now we followed the east side of the southern island down to the most southern point of New Zealand.
Blenheim with its wine yards, fantastic dolphin watching in Kaikoura, the story of earthquake in Christchurch, following the famous coastline down to Dunedin with its beautiful and interesting places as well as the nice city of Invercargill were our main spots on this part of our journey.
Being in the South, the way now went up on the west coast back to the north. Crossing the Fjordland with its famous landscapes we've reached Te Anau to do a private flight over Milford Sound, then spend in Queenstown some time with the most spectacular activities ever done (Canyon jumping and Shotover canyon jetriding were some unforgetable experiences!) the way led us to the glaciers, up to the nice town of Westport and further to Abel Tasman Park to doing an unbelievable hike trough the park and an outstanding kayak tour with seal and bird watching.
Nelson, Picton; Cook Strait is waiting again for us.
Of course, even if was is not our main activity during this holidays, we were looking for some caches, which are laying beside our route.
So this cache was one of those, we've picked up.
Many thanks to bumandworker for this fine cache and best greetings from Germany.

Round and round I went before making use of the helpful feature seemingly designed to give cachers one final lift before they consider a DNF.

To make the most of this hot and sunny day, I started early this morning to go to Kaiteriteri and on to Abel Tasman National Park...
Like on all previous days of my holiday I looked for caches when I stopped at lookouts etc anyway - often there were caches hidden in such spots. But every now and then I also stopped my car when my gps pointed out a cache and it was possible to park nearby.
Just like here. The hiding spot was immediately recognized. I am just not sure if the terrain rating is correct at 1.5. Someone in a wheelchair might need more than a little help... Maybe it can be upped a bit?
**TFTC** says *kinderarzt* from Germany!

[Purple] #5 for our 3 day holiday over this way. Nice wee hide. I nice day, with some cloud xerox, so it's not too hot. Tftc
In Richmond for a wee family holiday. Mr TG grew up here; staying with family.
Came out to Marahau for a wee walk around the Abel Tasman track....been along this a few times as a lad. Every school camp was out here!
Heading back via Kaiteriteri from a mornings adventure around Marahau. Quick find and sign in a quaint spot. Cheers.

A nice easy find (Mum did the retrieving) and then we stayed and had our picnic lunch here in the shade. Alot of traffic passed from both ways while we were here. Thanks for the cache
We made a few circuits, before reading some past logs, and discovering that it was actually a higher terrain rating than the stated 1.5. After that it was a quick find. TFTC
We spent a wonderful day in Abel Tasman Nationalpark. And at our way home the made a short stop here. After a few rounds around the Pine I was the lucky finder.

Thanks to all the owners of the geocaches that we found today on our way to Kaiteriteri, Marahau and Takaka. We enjoyed searching the caches and watching the beauty of this part of New Zealands Southern Island.

Should have driven around the pine, there was enough room for the car. After a bit of reversing, finally got safely of the road. Luckily the road is quiet.
Took a few circuits to find the cache. As StreetWalker has the desired attributes for retrieval, I pointed to a likely spot and asked him to check. Yes, it was there. Second visitors in the log book today. TFTC.

For the sake of sanity we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!
We started our adventures today kayaking, but decided to find another ‘few’ as at this stage we still did not know that the Bulk Finding Challenge has been archived…
We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.
Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!
So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!
... eventually - terrain rating should be upped for shorties!

Today was a trip from Nelson to Ngarua Caves with some side deviations showing our German visitor around the sites of the area. A few caches along the way were compulsory of course. A few options investigated before choosing the right one. Nice hide. TFTC

During our visit in beautiful New Zealand, we have naturally sought some caches. There were many memorable impressions on our trip and showed us some caches the New Zealand off the beaten path. You have a wonderful country! We thank all Ownern for the cache and send best regards from Denmark, Thyde2.
