I don't get out this way much anymore for maintenance. It's been almost 10 years, so a good run. Thanks to all the finders...

Just out for a drive to catch up the caches just stopped by so decide to head over to find just found placed back where it belong TFTC Pacmaina
Found it but paper is badly water damaged. Best not to do in summer we king brown snakes are in the area all my life.
Found on a trip around central New South Wales with e.gregory1. Our original plans were to travel through Bourke, Cunamulla and Toowoomba to attend the Dayboro event in Queensland and return via Port Macquarie and central NSW, but a series of events that included road closures due to flooding in southern inland Queensland, a covid outbreak in Brisbane and widespread storm damage and road closures along the north coast of NSW resulted in multiple changes of plans during the trip. As it eventuated our travels took us to central New South Wales, on a route from Broken Hill to Cobar, Nyngan, and Gunnedah from where we meandered southwards through some great scenery and historic towns that included Dunedoo, Wellington, Cowra and Yass. We then headed in a roughly westerly direction through to Temora, Wagga Wagga, Deniliquin and Swan Hill before making a final dash for home. All up we found a good mix of Traditionals, Puzzle Caches, Multicaches, Adventure Labs, Wherigos, Earthcaches, Letterbox Hybrids and Virtual Caches on a very entertaining and enjoyable trip. Thanks for the cache Pacmania!
Found on a trip around inland NSW with FeatherWaite.
Our original intention was to attend the Mega event at Dayboro in Queensland, travelling up via Broken Hill, Bourke, Cunamulla and Toowoomba, then home via the NSW coast to Port Macquarie then on to Adelaide via central NSW. However, the Covid outbreak in Brisbane forced us to reconsider, particularly given that the Mega and associated events were within the area of concern and we may have had difficulty re-entering NSW to get home and then would have had to quarantine back in SA for 14 days.
The floods in the north and east of NSW also hampered our travel plans. But we were able to develop a new plan that took us on a very pleasant tour around country NSW, picking up some interesting caches along the way.
Thanks Pacmania for the cache.

Finalf29 and I decided to spend a few days getting off the main highway and grabbing a few of these backroad caches. Having a wonderful time with my bestest buddy.

After a week caching around Canberra we are heading up to Grenfell for a few days to catch up with friends. Took a slightly longer but way more interesting route to our destination and collected a few caches along the way. Thanks to all the COs who have placed the caches so that we see more of the country side.
Floating around while the others use their amazing skills to find the cache, well, not much help was needed, *ThrosbyOC* had things well under control. Log signed and replaced and the scene evacuated OCW *Throsbyonchurch* and *DustyJasperJet*. TFTC Pacmania! Your efforts in placing and maintaining this cache is much appreciated.

Good to see the place I have heard so much about so often through my local historical society. Quick find, log signed in either our names or our initials in some switcheroo form of LP, DJJ, ToC and then returned cache to its hide'y hole exactly as found.
**The Day**
OCW *Little Panther* and *DustyJapserJet*. Cruised down to Binalong to undertake some cache maintenance between here and Wyangala, plus a short few days camping. Want to stay longer but we have a three day Scout hike commitment. Couldn't resist a trip to *Galong* since I have heard so much about the castle through my local historical society, and there is the added bonus of caches here.

***Please don't be hasty - zip and wrap the bags - money, time and effort that has gone into them.***

Now that I had finished the Threatened Species Trail I now knew what I needed to get my target for the day (or so I thought). First goal was 100 and if I could 120 was the next (for Project-GC award). I had accommodation booked in Yass but in the end I went to Binalong and Galong to get a good start before heading into town just on dark.
My wife had visited the castle for a sewing retrea but I had never been to Galong. Pulled over and followed the trail and eventually found the cache down low.

I really quite enjoyed reading the history in the description of this cache, also the pictures you have included of the castle at different stages of it's life was quite interesting! Well done, an interesting spot that I would had zoomed past without taking notice of if it wasn't for this cache!

There is nothing better than a sunday trip getting caches. Signed dsd. Thanks for the cache and the adventure. All caches were an easy find and all were in great condition with plenty of room in the logbooks.
Found on a warm Autumn day for a drive around the area.
Mostly nice quick finds and generally good safe hides out here.
Cache condition is OK/good.
Thanks for the cache Pacmania,

Woke up early this morning in my "luxury" accommodation in Cootamundra. Had a little bit of time to do some caching before starting my course at the rfs. Then a long day of learning before attempting the long 4 hr drive home.To brake up the drive, again grabbed a few caches. Had fun and made quick progress.

Tankengine and I decided on a last minute trip together out and about the countryside.
We got a few caches that he didn't have and of course heaps that I didn't have. It was a lovely morning of caching ending with lunch in Binalong - which I highly recommend the Cafe on Queen. Thank you Tankengine for all the driving and company. I had a great day out.
This cache: We parked on the side of the road and made the short walk to GZ. The view was sort of ok and we were tempted to go and visit, but then thought - no. Cache was all safe and sound. Tftc Pacmania!!!

I drove up here this fine sunny morning for a a FTF mission in the area of Galong for a total of 6 FTFs in the end. And as I was early enough I had some spare time to go and find essentially all other caches in the area all the way back to the M31.
All the FTFs were done and dusted. So I came back here where I had speeded past earlier to take in the came and do the cache. I was thankful for the hint as it might have been easy overlooked in its place. Now I was curious if this place was open for tourists, will have to look into that.
Thank you Pacmania for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

I've been looking forward to picking up this cache! I attended St. Clements back in the mid 90's for a 3 day 'Year 12 retreat'. Attending a catholic college, it was the usual affair of prayer, reflection, contemplation etc... but on the final night once the teachers had retired for the evening we had ourselves a bit of fun. In a respectful and restrained way of course! No-one died and no property was damaged. There was music, singing, dancing, really bad late night movies on sbs and then a late night/early morning excursion to the nearby cemetery. As it turns out, it is kinda difficult to find your way several hundred metres back across a couple of paddocks to an unlit building on a moonless night. Who would have thunk it?
There were a few rather tired people on the coach heading back into Canberra the next day, but frankly it was one of the best days of my senior schooling!
Thanks for the cache, Pacmania, as well as the trip down memory lane!

Wonder how much guilting it takes for a person to leave everything to a religious order instead of family?
There's spearheads and seeds everywhere today. Am battling with my socks. Cache found in good condition. Tftc

After staying for a couple of days in the castle for retreat. It was time to claim this little smiley. As I’m in the middle of a streak I was so grateful to see a cache so close to my hermitage! A quick find at GZ, before heading back in for dinner. Tftc
I was so confused by this one - where is the building?? The little bush flies and strong winds threatening to blast my hat into the universe must have been playing with my mind. However, finally came to my senses and located the cache. Interesting place - thank you.
Found on a blustery Xmas day whilst on a travel route.
Great spot and location.
Many thanks to Pacmania.

#7813 - 16:40; It was forecast for a hot day in Canberra, so the geohoney and I decided to go for a drive in the country over to Young to pick up some cherries. Caching was also on the agenda, of course. After collecting a couple of caches on the way in to Young, we stopped off for lunch then headed south where the primary part of the mission was completed at Ballinaclash Cherries. A stop in Wombat and then it was on to Harden Murrumburrah for a couple more. A detour to Galong wasn't part of the original plan, but was soon added to the itinerary. Parked beside the road and after removing the caching goggles located the cache second time past. Now, how do we get to the cemetery? TFTC Pacmania
Wow, never seen one so weather affected/chewed/run over. Being in the wrong spot also didn't help. I have replaced with a different container in the proper spot (low). Also waterproof paper should help!
With some cooler weather i headed down the hume to boorawa, harden and jugoing and surrounds. What a neat adventure so very green down these ways!
Log is quite damp but did my best to sign it.

#3338 6 of 23 today.
I tried to gather some likely suspects for a trip out to the coast today, but was particularly unsuccessful being father's day and all. So I decided instead to head out past Yass to Bradman country - Cootamundra via Binalong. It started out as a lovely warm spring day, but a change came across with some very strong winds, but it stayed warm, hitting about 23C - the warmest I've been since about April !
Didn't see the castle.

Soggy but at least it was there! Went at night, got scared by a busload of monks. Thanks for the creepy cache!
On our way to Young for the cherry festival, this was an easy find on a pleasant country road. It appears to have been wet in the past but has dried out and is still quite usable. Thanks for another piece of history Pacmania.
I've been in Boorowa for the last week with no access to my own wheels, but on the very wet Wednesday did a bus tour out to Galen Castle aka St Clements. A fascinating day and a lovely lunch there. Today, back on the road and found this one. Thanks pacmania
Fitzy_1965, SpecimenX and I headed out on a geocaching mission to collect a few numbers for Fitzy_1965 as he has a mission to find 2000 caches this year. This mission was from Canberra to Borowa, onto Cowra, Young, Grenfell and back home. We travelled well over 700kms over 13.5 hours! I found 54 caches in total, my best ever daily total, and surprisingly 5 FTFs! Fitzy obligingly did all the driving and SpecimenX and I made most of the finds, although SpecimenX had her caching glasses on today and was quick to spot most of them. We had solved a few puzzles before leaving so we were well armed to collect both trads and puzzles. The rain/drizzle/mizzle did not slow us down and we had a great day of caching and laughs. We signed the logs as S A F I (for invasion) to save time in the rain!
47th cache of the day found at 1755. We had turned for home now and were driving slowly picking up a few last caches on the way. We knew we were not far away as suddenly a few Canberra CO names were popping up! cache not found attached in accordance with the hint, but still easily found. Thanks Pacmania.

Plans were set in place with fitzy_1965 and AngelG27 for an "invasion" of several country towns between Yass and Cowra. We managed to dodge the worst of the drizzly weather to collect a decent swag of caches on what was a fun day with great company!
Another easy pick up for us on the way back home to the Can
Thanks for the hide, Pacmania

After our busy period with the animal minding business slowly coming to an end, a plan was hatched with Rapidlywild for an assault on the caches around the region. The weather was kind, warm and overcast.
We stopped in Yass to commence this assault and then moved further north to Cowra.
After Cowra we decided to have a go at the Harry Potter mini powertail. After completing that we slowly headed our way back to Canberra collecting caches scattered along the way.
Interesting place here but didn't drive down the road to check out the castle at the end.
Quick find at this way then tried to figure out how to get to the next one.

Plans were put into place with one party of the FurfacesLL team to do a country drive and pick up some caches in Yass, Cowra, Young and surrounds. We made plans to set off early and headed North for a long day of caching. After finishing off Yass, we headed further north.
We had now finished off what we could in Cowra, and finishing off the Harry Potter mini trail. After seeing a real castle earlier today, we were looking forward to seeing another one. However we were unable to see anything from here. Cache was quickly located, interesting location lol
Log signed, cache replaced and on we went.

Finally made it out this way have heard a lot about this location, and really wanted to check it out. TFTC
found this one on the way down to visit my grandparents with my spare mum nice to have a few stops along the way (visit meaning borrowing a room so we can go find the weddin mountain cache)
Enroute to the Weddin Mountains for some long-weekend hiking with the spare-daughter we took the opportunity to stop for a couple of driving/caching breaks. Slightly off our planned route but you can get pretty much anywhere from here.
tigersden grabbed me from the hospital and we decided to grab a few, this being our first.

No problems with the nab, thanks for another Pacmania.

ACTchil and I had a little trip to Cootamundra to visit my little sister ynnbub and on our way home I just had to go via Galong to show ACTchil the castle and tell a little story of my visit there on a few Mother's Day events which were very moving. After grabbing the cache and signing the log book we went into the grounds and had a walk around, amazing feeling came over me being there again. tftc and seeing some of the history in the town Pacmania.
Had a great weekend in Cootamundra with DarzeeDi and her family. DarzeeDi had got this cache sometime ago but she took me to find this one. tftc Pacmania
It was a bit drizzly today, but that didn't stop us from taking a nice country drive and making a few stops to cache along the way. Visiting the area on a trip from Canada. Love the history here. TFTF!
[:(!] Went for a weekend caching run to do the ES Series (Endangered Species Power Trail), after spending the night at Burrinjuck Waters State Park (I recommend it), I was once again on me way back to my abode and picking up a few caches along the way and this was one of them, parked the geocar as close as possible to GZ and walked in from there, on arrival at GZ the cache was located and it was in hand in a matter of minutes, once the fog had lifted, the sun was out and it was a marvelous day for caching after experiencing the previous day of miserable weather.
I love it

Haven't been down this way before so it was all new territory for me. Glad the road was sealed, and once at GZ the cache was found without issue. This was my turn around point today, so it was back to Yass for lunch and one more before heading home.
Thanks again Pacmania....

Such a tempting driveway - would have loved to have driven up and seen the castle, but settled for the cache. Thanks Pacmania.
This cache has been taunting me from the map for a very long time. We were heading to Canberra and as we approached the turn off on the road to Yass our youngest decided he needed a pit stop. Perfect time for a detour!
Cache was easy to find. It was nearly dark, but no problems here after having a quick read of some old logs.
Wish we could have seen more of the building when we visited. I really appreciate the pics you've put up there.
Thanks.

Definitely no longer magnetic - geofriend accidently kicked it as it was lying in the grass! The cache is looking a little chewed up on the outside but contents are pristine. placed it under some rocks at the site. TFTC
First time out this way although have lived in the area for many years Thanks for bringing us out here on a caching grab on a day trip to Canberra TFTC
Found after a trip from Harden, easy find as there is a track through the grass to it. Thanks
The last one for the day. Knew where cache was and took a drive down driveway to hopefully see the castle but its a pity we were not allowed access beyond a point to actually see the castle. Tftc
Found during a slight detour on the way to Griffith. The cache was out on the ground next to the road and looking a bit chopped up on the outside but was still functional. Now back under a pile of rocks near the post furthest from the road.
I was going to visit the nearby cemetary but realised I had been there when working in Galong a few years ago. Its well worth visiting. Mighty sad to see the Galong pub shut up and for sale as it was a great place to stay. Thanks Pacmania
