Found, what a lovely spot. Lake is awesome company awesome off for some more..TFTC
We are back at Ipswich for the week so headed out to Lake Manchester for a walk and caching day. We found the cache log reduced to wet pulp, we signed a sheet of note paper put it in a plastic bag and left it in the back of the cache but as there is no water proof container it will not last long. love these off track caches goldielover, thanks.
A plan was hatched to get the kayaks out and head off for a boys night camping trip. How could anyone resist........
Chamad, Nayfee and myself left Brisbane at stupid O'clock this morning to enjoy a days paddle around Lake Manchester and then head over to Wivenhoe for a night around the campfire.
A great few days out and about on the waters of SE QLD with great company. All up there was only 3 DNF's and many many finds.
Top few days out and about. Loved it.
Many thanks to all the CO's who have placed and maintained their cache's for us to find. You've given myself and many others hours of enjoyment.

With a couple of days free to cache and a new kayak to try out, a plan was set with Team Tyrrell and Nayfee. We were going to hit Lake Manchester via kayaks, then overnight camping stay at Wivenhoe. Then in the morning, a quick paddle around Wivenhoe before heading home to our pre-organised afternoon/evening events.
As usual it was a fun filled time; we grabbed our target caches as well as a few as we passed by. “There’s always time for one more cache” seemed to be the theme for the trip, lol. The highlight of the trip was our campsite and one we didn’t want to leave. A very nice view, a curry and a bottle of port for dinner, some stories and laughs around a well maintained campfire, neither of us really wanted to leave.
After a long walk dragging the kayaks to the water’s edge, we were soon off paddling around Lake Manchester. Some were easy finds from the water’s edge, some required a stroll into the bush and a couple required and good look before we found it. In all we spent 7 hours paddling and finding caches here today.
This one was our next find and another in the theme series of caches around the lake. Thanks for placing this one here, with log signed and cache replaced as found we were off to enjoy some more paddling.

Out with Chamad and Team Tyrrell for a spot of caching on Lake Manchester for the day. We opted for the kayaking method rather then the walking method, because who doesn’t love a good paddle every now and than, plus it was a picture perfect day to be out on the water with great company.
Thank you for placing this cache here for us to enjoy. We had a fabulous day exploring the area.

What a beautiful time out on the water it was today with the PRCYS, it was so nice to be back finding caches here after nearly 3 years when I found my first water-accessed ones. Thank you for your caches out here, and for ensuring my return to this super pretty location!
08:22:00 These are the journals of the maiden journey for the good ship - gone dark - S.S. Kalianna Prime.
A day on the Lake with Pine Rivers Cruising Yacht Squadron (PRCYS), and Kalianna has been launched down the chute, sans wasting any good grog, and away she has gone. This be the next plunder for S.S. Kalianna today. Enjoyed a great long morning out on the waters with PRCYS.
Thanks goldielover for entertaining me at this location.

Out with the Pine Rivers Cruising Yakht Squadron (PRCYS) crew to attempt a final clearance of caches @ Lake Manchester. It has taken me several years and several visits and each time there has been a great day out on the lake ( or walk near in the early years).
While I only needed the caches close to the SE section of the lake I accompanied the group to the bad lands of Dave's Hut for a fun paddle.

The pie had swooped to ground level and tossed the log from its nest. A little bit of rescuing needed. TFTC
Love it! Looks real from a distance. A great view for it too. Thank you for the hide. Logging with DeafPVC
Mrs slow puncture and I were out this way for a a nice walk . This was our last find for today and approached through long grass . I could see something looking at us in a tree and it looked super real but as we got nearer I saw it was actually the cache. What a great cache. Giving it a FP FOR all the fun

Friday. We had a short wander around the area before spotting this one. We found little bits on the ground and the log was soon signed in the great cache guardian container.
This was the 3rd of 4 caches found on this outing.
Thanks ***goldielover*** for showing us this place

As we continued our walk around Lake Manchester, we really enjoyed the detours to find these well hidden Geocaches. This one was a beauty, one of our favourite birds. The location was so peaceful and we could look back and see the dam walls.
Thanks Goldielover

Thanks for the cache. Appropriate name. Agree that log is bone dry despite the incontinent wrapping
Our plans of finding all the Lake Manchester caches were put on a temporary hiatus when we ran into some ugly terrain multiplied by the fear of walking up and down hills. We had found our target cache for the day and our soft-cockiness had the better of us. Walking back to the car we passed another trail that seemed to head in a direction we liked and so we followed it.
The path led all the way down to a patch of land that I want a job mowing. If someone provides a ride-on mower, some petrol and a few beers I would even consider doing it for free, and then accept a job doing it for no less than $150K. How sweet would life be?
After taking in the view from an awesome spot, we walked down to look for the cache and made short work of it. We also witnessed a minor miracle. The log is wrapped in the holiest (not devine just full of holes) bag but somehow the log was bone dry. Who says that plastic is ruining the environment? tftc

Was checking for unloved cache to finished the 15 year unloved challenge. Saw that Lake Manchester had a few. Today came available so of I go. 8 cache were available. Hour trip to Lake Manchester I had fun walk around the lake. Thank you for bringing me here. TFTC goldielover #949 D5
We are big fans of this series of caches - thank you so much for the awesome find!
Maintenance required - some little creature has chewed through the bag. Also be careful - we found a little huntsman friend in this one.
It was a smallish group that cruised Lake Manchester to witness Gcoven's millennium milestone. The JAGAS group (which means to guard or watch) approached cache hide number 3 for the day. Perfect day for cruising, with cool weather, flat water and a very light breeze.
Not finding any great landing spot, pulled up to let the yak graze on a grassy bank which had been recently mowed. Someone was obviously keen to mow just this little patch. Grabbed the paddle to ward off the pair of plovers just in case they became interested in what I was doing. Luckily they couldn't have cared less for the two trips made to place a temporary log in the black and white.
In the footholds of the yak, I now have a water beetle and shrimp in a few mm's of water, hitching a ride. Feel like an urber driver. Thanks for placing another interesting cache container goldielover.

Found this cache on a day of kayaking in a group around Lake Manchester. Create cache container - hopefully the replaced log lasts . TFTC!
What's black and white and sits in a tree??? ARF located and no log book or container ....only the B&W. I supplied some paper and a plastic bag to create a new makeshift logging device! Number 999! Tftc
Out with a small kayaking crew today to join in on Gcovens 1000th Cache celebration. We made the short descent down and knew instantly that it was going to hurt coming back up afterwards. Hitting the water it was beautifully serene, everything still and calm. Plenty of birdlife was seen around the lake and as for the flowers, spectacular! The cache containers for the series are delightful. I am going to drop some favourite points around and a few photos of the adventure. (Photos not necessarily of GZ)
There's something strange about this cache. The log and container are missing. The black and white part is fine. I checked the surroundings but nothing is there. Great hide anyway and we stopped here for a picnic.

Back again today with KeCa_junior to enjoy the peace and quiet of Lake Manchester. After running into the CO at our starting point we set off to find a few of their caches.
Found the cache quickly but had to fight off heaps of not so happy cache guardians. Glad we had a helpful tool with us to extract the logbook.

Lake Manchester Paddle Adventure #2 with Geohubby and JaffaJ, Cache #8 of 8. This was our last cache of the day before heading back for school pick up. Another lovely cache and we had all guessed what we would be likely to find. The log has got wet and stuck together and there is only room for a few more signatures. A new one would be lovely . TFTC goldielover and for giving us a fantastic day of fun out on the water
We had been looking forward to getting out on Lake Manchester so the event organised by stairman1 and goldielover was most opportune.
After the initial struggle of getting two kayaks ‘down the hill’ we were greeted with a lovely calm expanse of water and lily patches. Having tried the sometimes-choppy Lake Wivenhoe a couple of times, it made paddling a breeze.
No problem with any of the caches, all in good order. Enjoying the theme of the caches

The best fun amongst the group was guessing what the cache was from the name.
We were pretty close each time.
Continued on the trail to this one.
The cache was located and geopartner retrieved the cache.
Signed the log and returned the cache to hide.
Piccy taken.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks goldielover All good with this cache

Continuing our Quartet's opus of caches around Lake Manchester, this was another quick walk down a good access track maintained by SEQ water. Thanks guys . We were wondering about this cache from its name, guessing what it would be, But all was relatively quiet around the lake today, save the group chatter, of course. I was expecting to hear an array of complex vocalisations like "Quardle oodle ardle wardle doodle". But no, all I heard was "Found it"

Forever onwards our merry band of cachers 5 continued on our journey of search and discovery. Some of these hills were taking a toll on a few of our party but we continued on regardless.
Nearing GZ we all had a guess at what the cache would be and sure enough, it was continuing the theme. Great cache and location. Logbook signed and replaced it was onto the next one. TFTC

Still time for a couple more before i have to head back! Getting the hang of these so it was an easy spot this time around. Spiders had taken up residence around where i needed to get to so had to remove their homes with a stick to retrieve the prize. One cache was signed and returned it was time to continue for a little bit further. Thanks again goldielover. Great cache and in good condition.
On around the lake and very happy that I found the lower path again and have been able to save one or two hill climbs along the way.
It really is such a beautiful day out around the lake today, with clear blue skies, mid 20's and a slight breeze. Could not have picked a better day to get out and do this ride.
Soon I was in the most likely area and was having a little look and sure enough soon found who I was after. I added my name to the log and was soon on my way to the next stop.

Can't think of anything more delightful to do on a public holiday than to discover Lake Manchester.
Couchmen and I met up with the COs just before turning down the trail to GZ. They were doing a couple of repairs on the run today. It certainly is a wonderful series of caches and I can't wait to get back out to the lake.
I was quite taken with this cache and way it blends in naturally with its environment. It just belongs! Took a few pics and happy to give it a FAVE point Also took pics of Zack splashing about in the lilypads.
TFTC goldielover!

Ms Maddy & I were both looking forward to a day out in the bush and to have a lake to enjoy as well made it twice as pleasant.
It was an absolutely perfect day and I found my jacket totally unnecessary.
Neither of us had been into this area so we just had the cache descriptions to help us on our way.
We had just rejoined the top trail when we had the pleasure of meeting up with GoldieLover & Stairman1 who had come to fix a few maintenance issues.
They walked with us down to here but let us find the cache before they then went about replacing it as it was broken.
Zack (their dog) just loved a swim here and I think we all loved this spot and it was great meeting up with the CO's so this one gets a favourite point from me.
I loved most of the caches in this area but unfortunately we only have 2 or 3 favourite points to give out so I will have to be selective with them.
Thanks GoldieLover TFTC SL

This was an interesting location, right on the water. When I first started looking for the cache, I noticed a real dead turtle next to GZ. After another few moments of search I had the cache in hand. TFTC
We've come out today for a walk after a bit of a break from the hiking while Swellerfungus sorts his health issues.
We arrive at the meeting point carpark, driving straight past a giant "mobile camper vehicle". Can't really call it a campervan coz it's so much bigger! Anyway we head back out to the road to await the arrival of other cachers. Along comes that giant "mobile camper vehicle" and out jumps The Green Geckos and they introduce themselves. They had slept overnight in their camper to save a 4am wake-up, living more than an hour away...a bit clever I thought. Keepingupwith and Yasirrazc has caught a lift with us. Before too long Crookedpete arrives, time to kit up and start walking, yay yay yay, very pleased to be getting back into it.
Well, from here we can see the dam wall. In all the walking I've done here at Lake Manchester I haven't actually seen the dam wall so I'm pretty pleased right about now. A bit distracted by this sighting but the cache is found and signed. Replaced carefully as it is in a fragile state.
Thanks so much and goldielover and stairman1 for these caches around Lake Manchester. They have kept us busy and given us several pleasurable walks/hikes. This area will always hold a special place in my heart as it was the first hike Swellerfungus and I did in Feb 2013 and that began our love of hiking.

Was out and about with a party of cachers for a lovely early morning stroll around Lake Manchester. We had an early start so were getting some lovely views over the lake.
I was a little behind the group and this one was already discovered when I got there. This fella was a little worse for wear but we carefully signed up and placed it back where we found it.

Enjoying the company of SwellerFungus, LadySim, CrookedPete, keepingupwith and Yasir on a short stroll around the lake. Great company, beautiful weather, amazing views. Who could ask for more? Poor fellow has lost his head. Might need a wee bit of silicon to plonk it back on again. Thank you for placing this cache.
A nice short morning walk with some like minded cachers this morning proved a nice distraction from the tiresome business of moving house and unpacking.
At this cache, I was distracted by the view over the lake to the dam wall. Didn't even see where the cache came from, but it emereged, someone wrote my name and it was replaced.
Thanks Goldielover

Out and about with some fellow caters for my first foray back into healthy walks after some serious cardiac surgery. I chose these particular caches because I knew the terrain would be a good starting, without being overly difficult. Lake Manchester was our first real hike with fellow geocachers, and so brought back many wonderful memories, but it was nice to create some new ones with some new friends! LadySim and I met up with The Green Geckos (in the biggest camper van I have ever seen), CrookedPete, Keepingupwith and Yasirrazc (who finally started an account with GC.com even though he has been on many walks with us).
As LadyGecko and I approached we soon saw what we were expecting. Sadly this little tacker requires some attention. The expression 'This is an ex Parrot' springs to mind of this Monty Python devotee. The water tightness of the container is very questionable, and is cracked. It no longer seems to be in its intended hiding spot either - unless the Monty Python expression is true!
Thanks GL

This poor creature's head has come off and she was lying on the ground. I said a few nice words and signed her log and left her be. Tftc
Having met up with Walandor earlier along the trail we joined forces to complete the reamaining caches along the trail. Walandor spotted this one and made the grab. Is looking a little worse for wear at the moment but the CO is on the way with some TLC. Tftc
Nearing ground zero we were beginning to guess what this one could be. The geokid was right and let's just say I was on the wrong continent. Have contacted the CO about where this one is. We are having a great time searching for all these caches around Lake Manchester. And I am sure we will be back to finish off the ones we missed soon. TFTC Goldielover
It was my turn to do the honours this time and then Kylie received a message that a ftf was up for grabs on the opposite side of the lake. As we stood there starring and contemplating a way across I was sure I could see something new glistening in the sunlight.
Kay Eightnco, my friend Amanda and I set of early this morning, (very early that is!) aiming for 10kms a loop of caches - this was our fourth and I was enjoying trying to guess what they would be. It was at a quick rest stop at this one we got notification there was a FTF up for grabs across the lake. Sadly the other two were not keen on swimming, so it was on with our original plan!
As per the other guys another great find we are really enjoying thewe series thsmks goldielover and stairman
Of cawse we spotted this one although some of the team had to geowalk a bit before they spotted it. Neat one.
Wandering down to this one remsjw said he could see it.. Where is where is it, around, around.... Hmmm oh there you are, I was a little bit cache blind here, but once on the right side it's not so hard. Tftc
I set out from the picnic area earlier in the day with the goal of getting to Dave's Hut. The option then was to walk back to the car and drive around to the other side of the lake ... or walk. Oh well, it was only 2.5 km (as the crow flies), so off I set. 2.5 km quickly became 3.5 km as the track headed around the lake - and then it was up, up and up for a while. But finally I was headed in the right direction past familiar territory (from the day before and several other visits) and on to GZ.
I had an idea of what to look for and soon spotted the prize - guarded by another smaller species who didn't seem happy to have me invade the area. Signed the log and continued on around the lake.
Thanks Goldielover (and Stairman) for all the great caches around here.

After walking a little longer, and making our way through some long grass, we soon spied the cache on its perch keeping watch. Another log signed and we were soon off again heading to the next goal. Thank you for having placed the cache goldielover.
Who needs track [?]
The grass was a little overgrown here, so if there was a trail we didn't see it, but then again, with a GPSr, who needs trails
We all had a good idea what we would find here and we were not disappointed with what we found. Another great cache

Getting very weiry now, heat taking it's toll, but what's to be found next
keeps us going.
Now this fella had a great place to live, you must of had a lot of fun finding homes for these caches,
but l think we've had just as much fun finding them.
Left Texas T.B.
Another great cache goldie & in good condition.
TFTC goldielover Cheers.

Another great container. A quick find this time while out doing some of the other caches around the lake. TFTC.
My iPhone was out of range out here, so I was relying on all the caches I had added to a Saved list a long time ago. Now that I can see the most recent map, I realise that I must have walked right past several newer caches, which is a bit annoying, but on the upside, I'm sure I'll return one day soon to gather them up.
The coords for this one were precise (as they all were in this trail) so it was a blessedly easy find on a peaceful afternoon. All in great condition and the lake was beautifully calm this afternoon.

In hindsight, we may have been able to follow the lake around but we took the long way to this one. Another fun container that fits with the series and another picturesque location and photo opportunity. Loki was also happy that it had warmed up a bit since our chilly start. Thanks goldielover
Lokipagan and I took a bit of a detour to get this one next. I led the charge in toward GZ. We soon found a the clever container (which thankfully was not real). It was all in good condition.
A nice little walk through the bush. TFTC goldielover

Out and about on the MTB's with teamdfl
We'd talked about these on our travels today. They're a bit of a problem at this time of year, but we didn't meet any today. TFTC, goldielover. And now that I've checked the numbers, this one is actually my 1300th Find [^]

Out on the geocycle with IolantheK D We had seen a few of this ones relatives en route. Very happy that they were not swoopers .
Second one for the day and like others I could see a pattern arising, just glad it didn't swoop me lol TNLN SL cheers
A great spot down by the lake. Not much of the path is anywhere near the lake so these little trips down the paths are just what's needed.
SO much wildlife around.

Third cache for the day on a hike around Lake Manchester with Goldielover, Geosapiens, Tiamet, 5meerkats and Aberosenstingel. At GZ we fanned out and I headed straight for the cache. I couldn't see it at first, but Tiamet noticed something unusual sticking out from a shrub. I made the grab and passed the log around.

Found with 5 Meerkats, Geo Sapiens, Ice Cream Boy, Goldie Lover and Aberosenstingel and of course, Zack the dog. Another great Goldielover cache and very appropriately named. We had a magic day for caching out here today - what more could a girl want: great weather, fun caches to find and great people to cache with? TFTC.
Found on big day out with 5 Meerkats, Geo Sapiens, Ice Cream Boy, Goldie Lover and Tiamet. one of a series with common theme . Another great cache in a great location. Had a great day with good company.
Part of a group sortie on the Lake Manchester caches today. A great day to be outside.
Just getting into the rhythm by this one. A pleasant looking fella. TFTC goldielover

Our next cache on the trip today and we all had an idea of where it would be. After taking the advice of the CO we took the overland route taking in the water views along the way.
We were not to be disappointed up on arrival at GZ with another quality cache, we found the prize after a short search and the log was soon out and passed around for all to sign. A quick pic for the Geokids and we were heading in the direction of our next one.

A quick trek and there we were, watching swans glide through dappled sunlight as we grabbed a bite and signed the log.
What an amazing view !
What an amazing view !
Knew what to look for and found quickly. Nice one!
Love the idea and the area. fisherw0man, myself and our accomplice had a time constraint today, but I believe we will be back!
Thanks for our little afternoon adventure!

Doing a maintenance run with captain terror for goldielover. All safe and sound.
On advice of stairman1 with me today we took a more direct route from the last cache to this one than I would have, but it turned out to be a good plan. The perfect weather made the trip around the water's edge a brilliant stroll. Some bush bashing and was at the spot and on the hunt, with a fair idea this also was going to not be an average cache. I looked around right where my GPS wanted me and sure enough, spotted it and retrieved. Such a nice spot to sit and sign a logbook too. Another great cache in this top trail of caches. Off to the next one I think, TFTC and a favourite from me goldielover
first of another batch of goldie stair caches for the day. Needed some exercise so this area seemed a good candidate. TNLN TFTC.
Well today looked like being a very wet day with the weather but I set out with the company of Goldielover who was up for the walk and do a maintenance run as well.
Got to love it when the CO comes along.
After the first two caches it is starting to turn into a 'what do I think the next container will be' sort of game. Goldielover did not let out any secrets here. [^] I only managed to get one little 'slip up' early in the day about a much later cache.
I soon found this cache and it is as good as the previous couple. Love the effort that has gone into these hides.
Thanks for the cache and the walk.

Was beginning to suspect what I’d find here and soon had those suspicions confirmed [^]. A straight-forward find that had me signing the log soon after I arrived at GZ. Spent a while longer gazing out at the view. I was beginning to feel that this was the real reason these caches were placed. Grabbed the “I love Australia” TB before replacing the cache.
Third find for the day, and third joint FTF. Shared the honours with MightyMouse09 and bulldozer72. Loving these caches, cheers goldielover
