We were docked in Timaru New Zealand for the day on our ship - Holland America's Volendam. We walked all around the city and south along a trail along the ocean. We wound up with 15 caches and a complete Lab on the day on our 11-mile walk.Thank you to drawp for 4 of the caches, Dups16 and RAYZR for 3 each, and to the other 5 COs for their efforts and for the other 5 caches.Thank you also to the Lab creator for that adventure.#####################This Cache: Quick Find at a beautiful location
We are visiting from Tauranga and what better way to explore Timaru on our bikes? Great trails, busy today too. The birdlife was having a great day today too. Cache is all good. TFTC
A reasonably quick find once I managed to get my self up the incline. A great spot to watch the bird life. Tftc
On the journey south, we completed this multi. The nature reserve is a beautiful oasis. Thank you for caring and maintaining the caches.
Happy to have watched the Pukeko before reaching this one. Lots of lovely yellow lupins growing nearby too. A quick find here. TFTC
This was the last find for 1MinnieMoo and I while in the area.As a muggle begoned, 1MinnieMoo made the find and we signed the log. Some lovely bird life here. TFTC drawp
12/9/2023 Find #6492
Day 4 of the Fangsoki/1MinnieMoo NZ adventures. We got up and moving quickly this morning as we had big day of travel today heading from Lake Tekapo to Dunedin via Timaru and Oamaru. It was a chilly start to the morning with frost on the campervan and table to start the day.
Heading through Timaru we had a couple of caches on the list to find, which brought us to this location. Of course as we were heading past a couple of additional caches it would have been silly not to have grabbed them at the same time!
This was one of those such caches. I waited for a walker to head past, doing my best photographer impression (which isn’t hard out here!) then dashed up to make a quick find.
Thanks for the cache drawp.

Lots of great bird life around but we had to wade through a freezing water section of track to reach this cache
Out for some respite today biking the track. So I headed off in the wrong direction. Lucky my mate was paying more attention
Logbook was wet and moldy. Placed new one with bag into container and removed old.
Wet day. Wet log. Didn't get log out as it would rip and destroy. Nice trinket guarding the log however.
Best observation spot indeed. I could see the waterfowl, rowers, and even a train - well timed! TFTC!!
Trying to navigate these walkways as best I can. Not quite sure where I’m headed, but I live a little adventure. Lots of Paradise Duck watching but they didn’t prevent me from finding the cache. TFTC
On a quicky weekend getaway down to the South Island (from Wellington). I flew into Christchurch on Saturday morning, and then drove down to Timaru for the night. Drove back up to Christchurch Sunday afternoon and flew home late Sunday night. My goal was to catch up with a friend in Timaru, and to target a few specific caches that I need, and a few others just 'cos. This is one of them.
After a few specific caches elsewhere, our plan for the morning was to walk this walkway and get all the caches. We almost succeeded. I had one DNF, and due to poor planning and an unusual lack of commitment on my part we missed one. The rest were found without much trouble. TFTC.

Headed straight to an obvious hiding spot, which was bare, then spotted another option a bit lower that was hiding what I was looking for. TFTC.
Lovely spot this one, truly a nice spot to do a bit of Observing of these wonderful wetlands. Nice accurate coords meant a quick and easy find.
after the DNF on the beach, wanted one smiley - and this one was just a quick scramble up from the track. Nice view of the creek too!
Unfortunately the container is broken and the logbook unusable. See photolog. Needs maintenance urgently.

Found. But unable to sign the log as it was very water damaged. As well as the container was smashed
Cool spot, top of the container is smashed and paper has gone mossy. Thanks for a lovely walk though!
A lovely long weekend in Geraldine with BCD and a lunch stop in Timaru before heading home. A lovely wee walk and a nice quick find TFTC
In Timaru for an overnights family adventure. Stayed the night in the Top10 ...up and atoms and packed up & time to head out to Saltwater creek for another family bike ride before heading back home. Boys loving the adventure. Fantastic big loop around the river and lagoon. As previous cacher noted; container lid poked. Replaced upside down to try and save it a bit. Cheers.
Hello from the UK. Travelling around NZ for 5 weeks grabbing caches where I can. Easy find. Container cracked and log soaked through. Nice views from here. Thank you for bringing me here. TFTC
Got a bit lost and took our own way which led through the cracked mud where ducks/geese/seagulls/all the birds were hanging out together, and through the trees back to the path, and found another cache on the way. TFTC and the fun taking your own path gives
PS:logbook was completely wet, tried to dry it out but, will need a proper replacement

Gads, hundreds of ducks and geese out here. Quite the sight! Cheers, resident pukeko was rather unimpressed with my arrival!
The banians trip to Timaru for a wedding, and of course a cache or two.
Quick find but the container had water in it and the log book is sodden, I did not have spare paper or bag so I tipper the water out and rehid it.

In Timaru for work. Just over two years ago I was here doing the same thing, and walked these tracks. A few days later, my friend introduced me to Geocaching and now I can walk the track again with a new purpose! Log book soaking wet, signed, kind of ( see photo) Tftc
Found with StreetWalker on our Queens birthday weekend trip down south.
We didn't make it this far on our last walk along Saltwater Creek, so made the short detour to here before taking the coastal route back to the car. There was a geotrail to an obvious hiding place, so a quick find for me while SW checked out the "bridge" across the creek. TFTC.

#15651. Another cache were Troodles got to GZ first and did the scrambling. TFTC.
I’m here for a week from Australia doing the great Southern scenic Trail. So far I have spent time in Queenstown, Te Anau, Bluff, Stuart Island and Invercargill. Met the lovely locals in Airbnb’s. Today I’m heading to Dunedin via the Catlins. Gorgeous scenery thanks for this cache.I’m starting to get itchy from the grass seeds.
