Found what was thought to be the obvious location but after a bit of digging through the bush we couldn't locate it. Will have to give it another shot.
709 Finally got to find this cache. First time there was road works with stop and go signs and we had to go past, next there was a man working right in the area so third time lucky. Easily found and signed.
1.30pm - DAY 3 of 3. Final day caching up North today and this was a massive driving day for me today. Kaitaia to Rotorua then home to Papamoa, along with a huge list of caches to collect.
We ended up wasting far too much time on a Wherigo in Whangarei which we had to DNF.
Thankfully mother finds came a lot quicker so made up up for a bit of lost time.
We will have to return one day to collect the ones we missed on this trip.
Enjoyed the weekend with a 100+ caches found. SLTFTC

Up North for the Easter long weekend with Squirrel nutcase and Gap from FapandGap.
A couple of caches in Kaitaia before we had breakfast and left town on our way home we had a big list of caches to get on way home it was going to be a long day. After we had arrived by car this cache took a while as co ordinates had us on wrong side of road but then Fap spotted the Rural support sign across the road soon had cache in hand.Log signed BGH

With Gap (of Fap and Gap) and Mr Davidson (of Davidson clan). Signed most finds as BGH.
Visiting Northland for Easter... The plan for today was to cache our way back to Whangarei (and home), while picking up as many caches that fill spaces in challenges we are working on. We really hope to make a big dent into several challenges this weekend...
We started searching in the wrong place, but wisened up once we thought about the cache title. The container was well hidden under slimy leaf litter. TFTC.

Feels like a long time since we have been home to enjoy exploring our own backyard, so off today to explore Kauri and around Lake Waro, but also a chance to collect some previous DNFs that have been updated. What an awesome afternoon of caching was had (although now to deal with the sunburn consequences). 22 caches in 3 hours of adventure, we even had to go for a swim to collect a cache, this was our fifth cache of the day.
On a bit of a roll now, heading for # 300. A quick stop here and the cache was soon found. It was only after I got back in the car to turn around, that I saw the sign on the pole...!!

Whangarei Day2.
We spent a delightful day in the outer region of Whangarei, driving through the rolling country side then onto the sea side where many surfers were enjoying the waves.
A great variety of locations & hides were found.
Thanks for placing this cache Riser5

Taking the opportunity to grab some caches during my week long visit up here. Decided to take the back road from Kauri to Hikarangi as there are a few caches along there. Quick find here TFTC
I'm back up in my home town of Whangarei for the holiday period and on this very wet morning teamed up with fellow Auckland cacher yorkshirekiwi83 and local caching friends tikitour for a couple of hours of caching, till the rain sent us home! A quick park and grab here. TFTC!

Decided to finish the year and see in the new year in Whangarei, Vistra and tikitour decided to join me and we spent the time grabbing caches around the region, in some cases it was just one that needed to sign in others it was all three of us, signed as TYV (or combination of those letters) or VY when it was more than 1 of us.
Early morning in the rain, quick find. TFTC

Yay , we found this one no trouble .....feels good after a few DNFs on this road .
Todays plan was for a further attempt to increase my unique Minutes for the 400 Minute Challenge in Manawatu. I only needed an extra dozen or so to tip me o=ver the magic mark and, with a plan to head further North than before (whilst a cacher), there was a good chance of success. Built the plan aroubnd the barrier caches spread evenly along the upper S H 1 and also another couple of Letterbox hybrids and an Earth cache at Hikurangi. The hope to also fit in Waipu Cove and Mangawhai Head was a step to far. Settled for 53 caches all up, 23 new minutes so mission accomplished and I can now claim another D/T for my grid. Many thanks to all the C Os whose caches I found today. Got to see some cool sights of lower Northland and help my little missions along. Got all the North ones on the way up and the South ones on the way back down. Yay

Couldn't spot this one, then the two dogs from the residence came out to the street and started barking at us. Time to go!

Well, this was much easier than the last cache at Karamea. Now moving on...
It didn't take us long to have this cache found. Thank's to a couple of good hints. TFTC ;D
Great tittle for this cache. Having great success on this road today. Rain is slowing. Was logging these in order but the internet cut me off on this one and I just realised my totals for the day didn't add up. A moment of disappointment that we hadn't made 20 when I realised this one hadn't logged correctly. Whew! TFTC
Decided to do a bit of a day tour of Northland and grab some easy drive-bys in the process. Thanks.
Went to wrong pole at first then the little one before trying one furthest away and there it was
I think it was on the way to this cache....hit a very bumpy patch on one of those big downhills & my GPS went flying out of my bike-bag and into various bits when it hit the tarmac! thankfully not broken,, so aftr reassembling made a quick easy find in the shade. TFTC
Found as part of my Post Mega northen road trip. Really enjoyed a part of the country I hadn't seen before. Thanks to all those who have placed cacahes to encourage us southerners to come your way!
I finally made it to Matapouri Bay today after a false start last Tuesday. Today it started fine and stayed that way all day.
I'm now on my way home and decided to pick up all the caches in this series in the Jordan Valley and environs.
Cheers for the cache.
cache 6. following an old friend who hasn't logged hers yet. This once was sooooo easy for us rural dwellers.
#453 As I pulled over to grab this cache, a car pulled out of the driveway. Quick, pretend I'm grabbing something out of the boot. Success. Car left none the wiser and I made the grab. TFTC!
Stopped to find this one but there were muggles pruning trees close by...
Save this for another day.

A good find on a very pleasant day's caching in the area, all pretty straight forward.

Caching with Mini Mob today. Only method to get him to come was a promise of a lolly for every 4 finds..... 4th so lolly time!! Yipee!! Nearly had the phones out here while looking for this one. TFTC.
Nice quick find on our trip around this loop that we have meant to do for a long time. TFTC
Got nabbed by a local as I parked up and walked over to get the cache...quickly grabbed it but with him looking on walked back to the car but he parked up again further up the road so I had to drive off (still with the cache) in opposite direction and do a u turn to replace it once he headed off - oh the effort we go to! tftc
Quick park and grab, although coming from the other way missed the obvious at first. TFTC
9139... Luckily no Rural Support neighbours were watching us as we retrieved this one TFTC.

Is this a test to see how well the rural neighbour hood support works when they notice all kinds of vehicles stopping at all hours to rummage around the area. Thankfully a quick find. TFTC

4.45pm. Another quick one after having to miss one that I will have to return for a longer look.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
Returned after finding a couple of caches on this road earlier in the morning. Much busier at 5.30pm so only able to grab this one. Will be back another day. T4TC!
FTF 12.55 Nice easy cache, shot past so had to find a place to turn and head back. Quick grab. Thanks for the small cache spree.
