Finally ticked this one off been meaning to stop many times as I’ve gone past, yay.
Decided to try Hukerenui to Hikurangi via the back roads today, and collect 6 caches. All good here. TFTC
Another one of those, "I have my blinders on so I didn't see the right place." I searched one spot very thoroughly, then took my blinders off. TFTC.
Locked and loaded! Cache water damaged so have replaced with new log and container. TFTC
TFTC... unfortunately the "park" was obstructed by a road cone... but nice easy find with geodad Matini264.
Sorry left my maintenance kit in the other GC vehicle. Log extremely wet but managed to pop our names in. If out this way again will put a new log in

TFTC... Liked the 55 chev-ron. Nice easy park and grab. Log soaked but not maintenance gear with me.
Managed to find without a GPS. I had been here before but decided not to stop for it but noted the location. So this time I didn't have it on my GPS but found it quickly anyway. Thanks for the cache.
Managed to locate this one just fine. Couldn't sign the log as it was wet and didn't have a spare log on me to replace it with.
Feels like a long time since we have been home to enjoy exploring our own backyard, so off today to explore Kauri and around Lake Waro, but also a chance to collect some previous DNFs that have been updated. What an awesome afternoon of caching was had (although now to deal with the sunburn consequences). 22 caches in 3 hours of adventure, we even had to go for a swim to collect a cache, this was our sixth cache of the day.
Another one on the other side of the road, but a quick find, thx to the good clues.
This completes the circuit with Apotu Rd now.

Found the original one. Couldn't see the new one. Had nothing with me to replace. Obviously couldn't sign it.
Whangarei Day2.
We spent a delightful day in the outer region of Whangarei, driving through the rolling country side then onto the sea side where many surfers were enjoying the waves.
A great variety of locations & hides were found.
We have replaced this with a new cache container & log book.
Thanks for placing this cache Riser5

Taking the opportunity to grab some caches during my week long visit up here. Decided to take the back road from Kauri to Hikarangi as there are a few caches along there. Quick find here. Cache is missing its lid and its log. Placed some paper in the cache but it will get wet pretty quickly without a bag and a life. TFTC
Found it but pretty destroyed... full of mud and unrecognizable. Needs maintenance.
Nice little find - an enjoyable Sunday morning while on family vacation up in Whangarei
I'm back up in my home town of Whangarei for the holiday period and on this very wet morning teamed up with fellow Auckland cacher yorkshirekiwi83 and local caching friends tikitour for a couple of hours of caching, till the rain sent us home! Another quick park and grab here. TFTC!

Decided to finish the year and see in the new year in Whangarei, Vistra and tikitour decided to join me and we spent the time grabbing caches around the region, in some cases it was just one that needed to sign in others it was all three of us, signed as TYV (or combination of those letters) or VY when it was more than 1 of us.
Early morning in the rain, quick grab, TFTC

Ha ha ... the pole is a bit wobbly ... I think it has sustained a hit ...but I did the job that was required ...
Todays plan was for a further attempt to increase my unique Minutes for the 400 Minute Challenge in Manawatu. I only needed an extra dozen or so to tip me o=ver the magic mark and, with a plan to head further North than before (whilst a cacher), there was a good chance of success. Built the plan aroubnd the barrier caches spread evenly along the upper S H 1 and also another couple of Letterbox hybrids and an Earth cache at Hikurangi. The hope to also fit in Waipu Cove and Mangawhai Head was a step to far. Settled for 53 caches all up, 23 new minutes so mission accomplished and I can now claim another D/T for my grid. Many thanks to all the C Os whose caches I found today. Got to see some cool sights of lower Northland and help my little missions along. Got all the North ones on the way up and the South ones on the way back down. Yay

That's better, back on the Found It trail again. The sign is quite wobbly at one end

Easy enough park n' grab late at night! Almost fell over with the steepness of the 'right' post.
Geocaching through the countryside during our short visit to Nothland. What could be more pleasant on a lovely summers day? Easy find. Cache good. TFTC
The kids are really getting into treasure hunting now so to find centipedes in the cache was magic! TFTC
Another park and grab. ooh a cuppa and a bikkie waiting for me when I retrieved the cache. thanks Lis''s crew. TFTC ;D
GraciesGPSfun made a quick grab while I poured us another cuppa. Found the gingernut biscuits this time. Caching in luxury. Sign was covered over and I just learned what cheverons are. Another great cache tittle Thanks.
A little tricky find GPS wasn't working 8 meters wrong but still awesome find
Decided to do a bit of a day tour of Northland and grab some easy drive-bys in the process. Thanks.
Thankfully this was a quick find as there was a lot of traffic on this trail today. Log full but thanks for the cache.
Found as part of my Post Mega northen road trip. Really enjoyed a part of the country I hadn't seen before. Thanks to all those who have placed cacahes to encourage us southerners to come your way!
I finally made it to Matapouri Bay today after a false start last Tuesday. Today it started fine and stayed that way all day.
I'm now on my way home and decided to pick up all the caches in this series in the Jordan Valley.
Cheers for the cache.
