Nice slide down this one! Nothing some early morning exercise. Day 4 of our 4 day anniversary road trip to Maryborough and out West. Lots of adventure to be had with my love SCAHPA. Log signed as CS & SC to save time and room - Trademark skeleton animals sticker left in cache - TFTC, effort time and maintenance
While visiting the area we stopped and found this cache.
I made the little trek up and easily found the container.
Nice views.

Found easily enough however the Guardian spider have me a fright. Signed log. And headed back put spider back where I found him
Definitely need some hiking boots! Thankful to have Geoson with us today who loves these hikes!
TFTC! Definitely an adventure

Another day in Kilkivan. We were going to have an easier day but as usual, it didn't work out that way. We changed plans along the way which was a bonus and headed towards Tansey. Then we decided to drive a loop and headed off to Goomeri. Having no lunch with us we stopped in Goomeri to see what we could find. A lovely older small town with some amazing old buildings and a fantastic bakery. Great coffee, but the pies are up there with Mataranka pies. Excellent. We then headed out to Kinbombi Creek Gorge and Falls another unexpected find. We only headed out because there were caches there, but what a bonus. Well worth the diversion.
We then returned to camp a Kilkivan.
Lots of really good sized caches in good condition.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Sweet-Sour.

On my way from Canberra to North Queensland with a few detours for shires. TFTC.
I thought I would walk along the road for a bit. Bad idea. Surprised some motorists as I scaled the cliff. Quick find. Nice and dry.

Starting my day at Bjelke-Petersen Dam, I’ve been through Murgon and Goomeri, and now heading for a couple of target caches at Kinbombi Falls…
I grabbed a rock and got as close as I could before braving the slope and wall of grass… it didn’t take long for me to send a couple of Roos bounding away…
I found the cache without issue and after leaving my mark and a rock was back off to the car… I surprised myself by remaining upright the entire time…

In the area today and decided to pick up a few caches and this was one of them. I parked nearby and once at GZ the cache was soon in hand and after signing the log all was returned as found.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for me and others to enjoy.

Gotta love a rock cairn.
I've carted rocks from the bottom or halfway up a mountain and added it to the cairn that's usually on a summit before.
Some are really impressive.
There were two cairns i found at gz.
What i can only assume is the old one with many a rock perched in a pile, and the new smaller one, where the cache is.
Luckily i spotted it first.
I walked here from town after setting up the tent at the showgrounds.
Overshot gz then walked back and up for a quick find after stomping my way to gz.
This is the last cache found today, although i still need to log the gympie-widgee leg from days ago. Sigh.
The favourites and the title had me scratching my head at first, then after a read of the description, everything fell into place.
A japanese friend once impressed upon me a cool saying that i'll no doubt pronounce wrong that goes something like this...
Hyakubun wa Ikken ni Shikazu.
This translates to a hundred times seeing is less than one time doing.
Something about it struck me and i've always remembered it.
Thanks sweet-sour for the cache and a philosophy rolled into one!

Geohubby wanted to take the walk up here. He took a rock with him to add to the cairn. That’s a nice idea.
The cache was found and log signed before replacing. Many thanks Sweet-Sour for all your caches we’ve found over the last couple of weeks. We’ve really enjoyed the locations they’ve taken us.
Cheers and happy caching!

Day 9 of 10 – Wondai to Goomeri via the KKRT - Cache 9. We are riding from Walkuraka to Kilkivan. Staying in Goomeri for the night. Mrs EMC always likes to go for a walk after her day of riding. She says she has been sitting on her arse all day and needs some exercize. The other chikins don't share her view but they are willing to go along. Tonight we went out to do some night caching. We tried to access this one from the highway - creeping along in the dark trying not to get hit by trucks and passing traffic. It was freezing cold. Mrs EMC and the little chikins kept walking down the highway whilst Mr EMC decided he was jungle jim and started to climb up the cliff wall. Mrs EMC found a way in from the road and proceeded to walk back in the direction of GZ. The little chikins then climbed up and made their way to Mr EMC who by this time was up the top with cache in hand. Mrs EMC stayed on the back path. I believe they added to the cairn as suggested. From here we followed the perfectly safe and wide path all the way back to town. Wish we had known this path was here from the onset. TFTC.
Spending some time in the district chasing a few caches and soon found the cache after a bit of a climb. Thanks for the cache.
It's been far too many months since The Bromance last went on a weekend geocaching road trip so plans were made a couple of weeks ago for a journey north towards Kingaroy and the surrounding area. Unfortunately Crookedpete was unable to make it due to family commitments so it was a Bromance Lite+ trip of JezNDez, Swellerfungus and Seffnjarah.
Today was Day 2 of the trip, and after an overnight stay in a dingy motel in Kingaroy and a few caches picked up around town , we continued our journey northwards. Dez had already found this one on a previous trip up this way so I wandered off up the road from our parking spot while she conducted some telephone counselling for a friend. No problem locating the GZ but had to poke around until I found the exact hide. Signed the logbook with The Bromance team stamp (although there may be a slight glitch with the stamp date). TFTC

Well, here we go again!
Our 3rd trip out this way in as many weeks, another 4 days for this run.
Why do country COs place their caches so FAR APART! [?]
Camping at Kinbombi Falls free camping for the first couple of nights, a really great spot!
#10 of 26 smilies today.
I just loved the walk, along the edge of the precipice, here ... looking down on all the mechanical behemoths roaring past!
Unsteady footing ended in blowing a plug on my safety thongs but fortunately it was only blown, not broken, so a quick refit on the run & I was back in business!
The compass got me to 21 metres from GZ before it decided to quickly flick around & point in a new direction ... across to the 'other side'!
NOOOOOO!
Really, should I retrace my steps or go with my gut which was telling me to ignore the compass & keep going? [?]
Going with my gut was the 'closest' option so on I plodded.
YES!
Cache in hand!
Made our mark & replaced as found.
TFTC Sweet-Sour
OOPS! I forgot, I dropped a FP here somewhere, I hope it didn't go over the edge!

Not normally a fan of a cairn. They can be a bit of a blight on a natural landscape. However, this is a good one!
Loved the idea of ‘growing’ the cairn and the aspect across to the impressive road cutting. This could be an Earthcache!
Previous logs talk of plenty of swag being left behind, but alas it has mostly all been souvenired before our visit!
A great cache deserving of a favourite point.
Thanks For The Cache!

First once on the road after biking round Goomeri.....a good stretch for our legs TFTC
Hail isivivane!! Ftf the replaced cache! Good spot... Added a couple boulders and goodies to be found. Found with cheekyado
On arrival at the GZ I was/ am surprised at the size of the cairn, huge, thankyou to all the geocaches that have added to the cairn
Having said that I was also surprised that previous geocachers pulled the cairn down to find the container that wasn't there, but rebuilt the cairn.
So, I had to go through the process again, dismantle the cairn, to prove that the container wasn't there, replace the cache and rebuild the cairn.
In future geocachers can access the cache by starting at the middle, a couple of stones down.
If anyone says that they couldn't find a stone to add to the cairn, their log will be deleted
Have a great day.

The container is missing.
It is anticipated that it maybe a couple of weeks before I can replace the container.
If anyone wants to replace the cache, logbook & cache card. Needs a large screw top container as this cache receives a lot of TB's

Walked behind the cutting for about 50 metres but wasn’t able to climb to the top.... too old thanks anyway.

Goomeri for 2 nights staying at the showgrounds.
We enjoyed the many caches we did along these backroads, the countryside being a lot dryer than we expected.
The caches were generally typically roadside caches.

Heading home from Hervey Bay to Toowoomba. We were up this way in January and i wanted to stop at this cache then but we missed the pull off! Not this time though, pulled over and carefully crossed the road and climbed the hill. Pretty cool views from up here! Signed log and replaced as found. Thanks for bringing us up here. Tftc
A wonderful philosophy, and very pertinent at the moment. Will we learn from current events how sick our system is and try to change our thinking to do better? Added a stone and a wish.
Attending the 2019 - 2020 New Year Cacheup at Kilkivan, organised by Sweet-Sour, YoungOldFella and PB1973. Thank you!!!

Up in Killivan for the New Year event. My second one. Had lots of fun last year. And how much have I learned since then.
This year I will be caching with my Geoson as wtdwarrior, Grannysmith1947, hatzofff and can’t forget The Geodog Miss Millie.
Sorry for the generic post.
Cache a day to keep the doctor away, or is it to keep me sane. No it’s to keep my streak alive. TFTC Sweet-Sour *389* streak. *2343* Finds

Today we're taking a slightly different route home and picking up a few smileys along the way.
What a great story to go along with this cache. Found it no problem but I really must start wearing better shoes. I'm sick of getting bitten by meat ants.
We added our stones.

10:18:00 AM. Had some time to kill before our meeting in town so decided to grab the only cache in town. Parked on the western end and walked up. Not sure if it is shorter from the other end. Found the cache easily and log was signed. Back to our vehicle where the better half was waiting. Now to pick up our new puppy. Thanks for the cache Sweet-Sour
After enjoying a delicious morning tea at the Goomeri bakery we quickly drove to this one.
Geohubby ventured up the slope in the long grass and found this one and signed the log

A bit of a climb to find it but it is the only one in Goomeri and we set ourselves to find one in each town on our drive. Added a rock. Beware the walk back down was a bit hairy!
I trotted up the hill and wondered where I was heading. Fortunately I spooted the nlikely hiding spot and found the cache. Love caching in Goomeri. I also love the Emporium with its western gear.
On our way to QOGM (Blackall) day 17 of our trip. 2 caches for the day and 498 for the trip.TFTC
TFTC. Day 2 of our trip away from the House sit at Bundaberg, exploring the Goomeri/Kilkivan area. The plan today Wes to do a loop through Tansey to Kilkivan and then return via the Wide Bay Highway, a triangle shape. A great day 44 attempted and only 1 dnf. I suspect that we were getting tired and there were muggles camped close by. That’s our excuse. All caches were relatively straightforward finds and unless noted all in good order. Thanks to the COs for adding to our enjoyment of the area.
As there was only one cache to find on the way through Goomeri, I made sure I stopped here for a smilie! I parked nearby and scrambled up to the cairn, taking the opportunity for a few photos of the view before signing the log and heading back to the car. Tftc sweet-sour
Another find on the final leg of our roadtrip. Due to the long grass I left Ldayz29 safely in the car away from marauding snakes, and made a quick find. TFTC
Found by Mary and David at 1430. Heading from Melbourne to the Easter Mega via Fraser Island for a family gathering of all our children and grandchildren. A FP for what your cache notes convey. Mary, as a retired RN, really believes in the circle of life. Absolutely wonderful. Great views here. Really hurts to have to go past so many caches. We'll just have to come back. Our thanks to Sweet-Sour.
Heading home from the event in Kilkivan, I still had time to find a few caches, if I didn't head to the highway. That made the decision of which way to go an easy one. Heading out of town, this was another cache that I hadn't found. Naturally, I stopped and headed to GZ. There, the cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
We’re on our way to Kilkivan for the new year’s event and took time to find a few caches as we went. This was one of them. Parked the car and hiked up the hill. GZ was easy to spot. Couldn’t see the TB that’s listed here. Added our rock to the pile.
Glad we found an easier way back down to the car.
Thanks for the cache and adding more fun to our drive Sweet-Sour.

Last cache for the day. After visiting Kinbombi falls, instead of turning right to head back to camp, I turned left to grab this one instead.
Climbed the hill as the sun was starting to slowly ebb. Just as I reached GZ I realised I had left my own in the car. Bugger. Ok, should be one in the cache. Nope.
Not going all the way back, let's improvise. Glad to report that a charcoal dipped stick actually wrote on, enough to leave a decent 'OC' on the log. Winning!

A lovely leg stretch in a great place. What a nice cairn it is reminds me of all the cairns we came across on our hikes in England. Thanks for all the effort in placing the cache here.
Found the easy way up which was good as I was in my nice work clothes. Easy find and a great view too. Thanks.
I've had a great day chasing caches and seeing a little bit of the South Burnett and Gympie Shires and this was a nice one to finish on. It's a bit of a trek up here and I've lost count of how many Sweet-Sour caches I've found at the top of cuttings (like the first one of the day this morning!) but it was well worth it for the location and view. You've also taught me a new word which I have looked into further and it suits this place well.
Thanks Sweet-Sour for all the fun today, we'll be back for the rest some day! Took JacsTeam pathtag to add to my little collection!

There was no problem locating this cache after figuring the best direction of approach. All was found to be in good condition and we took nothing and left nothing. Our signature was soon added to the list and it was back to the geo car and caravan to go on our way again. Thanks go to sweet - sour for this cache placement with a view.
I was in Goomeri for the Pumpkin Festival, and this was just up the road so what's a feller gunna do? Go find a cache of course!
Left a dollar scratchy. Good luck!
It was great fun at the Pumpkin Festival! I was impressed with the turn-out, the number of stalls, the general enthusiasm for the day, and especially the way they'd turned a rather benign excuse for a celebration— pumpkins, of all things— into a significant event. They had a pretty good parade, and even a few blokey demonstrations such as chain-saw events and old engines. I was teased by my companions at dinner that night in the hotel, though, for not bothering to watch the gala event: Pumpkin Rolling on Policeman's Hill so I promised to come back next year to watch it. All told it was a very enjoyable few days with some old friends. TFTC

Did an epic 5hr return road trip just for this one specific cache as it helps me fulfil a challenge! Made the climb up and located the cache in its nice hidey hole. Dropped a pathtag for the next finder to keep to celebrate my challenge completion! Hopped in the car and drove home - we did stop in of the small towns and had the most awesome carrot cake at the bakery! Yum yum!
Bit of a climb before breakfast. The rocks along the way made for a rather unsteady climb but got there. Kutgw
As my poor bf finished his last day at work I'm merrily making my way north to catch up with all the rellies. This little town lies half way to my destination so I've taken a quick break.. .well another one. Im not sure what the boys in blue made of me stopping near them and pulling oyt tge phone. But they ignored me thankfully. Place looks nice when it's green. All good with cache. Have a lovely Christmas.
Heading home today after spending two days caching in and around Kingaroy and Nanango. Of course we are going to stop and look for caches on the way. It was much easier going up than it was going back down. We found the very obvious Cairn once we got to the top. TFTC.
Nice climb up to see the lovely views and cache that was well hidden. Took TB to drop it off in ? Kingaroy.
