Out seeking caches west of Waimate. Quickly found this but it is sopping wet.[xx(] Etched my name on a wet page.
#18254. The latitude S 44° 39 was missing from our minute collection, so we stopped by to find this cache (will have to return another time to do the walk). Enjoyed the short walk to GZ (it obviously stays pretty damp in this valley) and made a quick find. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day one of a 4 day trip down south to Oamaru, a consolation holiday for us, as in a COVID-19 free world, we would currently be in Seattle .
Quite mossy underfoot, and it didn't take long to sniff out the cache. Looks like this would be an area to explore in summer time. TFTC.

found in a horrible state in a plastic bag and saturated so swapped the cache for a more water tight unit tftc
Quick find but sadly no container. Just a plastic bag full of slimy notebook, stuffed toy and a few other things. Took photo as impossible to log. Had hoped to leave a TB but instead I'll say it visited! Thanks for the hide.
Came for a walk in Gunns Bush this morning. This was the first find - good accurate coordinates enabled me to walk straight to it. Signed log, TFTC
A day off work so decided to do some caching around the Waimate area, Gunns bush to be exact, a place we hadn't been for quite a number of years. Found the cache fairly quickly but I would mind where you put your feet as it appears some people use the area for 'nature calls'

Last night the weather starting to turn for the better and this morning I woke up to a cloudless day so it was time for a walk in the bush. What a great walk this is.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Last for the day..great walk...The whole route being a real favourite for me!
Once the Gps finished his ''power play'' under the tree's it was clearer where GZ maybe, in fact that's called in plain sight...When i opened it though it was clear to see why it was brave enough to be in plain sight!, if it was any one other than a kiwi that opened the container they would certainly run screaming.... but we know they don't exist here we... don't we??? I am not sure now cause he wasn't were i left him in the boot when i got home but rather investigating the contents of the groceries on the other side of the boot... ?

After a cosy night in the camper van we decided to do this trail . This was the first find. I left a travel bug here due to the size of the cache.
Weekend away caching with Nosynel. We stayed the night here and hit the track in the morning. Really enjoyed the walk. Nice dry track lovely sunny day. Thanks for the caches makes the walk lots more fun.
We headed down to this part of the world for Queens Birthday, finding a few caches as we went

While on a hunting trip came past here, found via the hint as my phone said we were still 18 meters from the cache while in the cover. Tftc.
Quick find on a quiet Sunday morning dropped of a little shop treat tftc
Walked through a massive spiderweb to get to this one - yuck! Found with Aoraki Sheep and Woody104
I was a real gent and let Debs get the spiderweb face. Hehehe. Quick find.
Found with DebsNZ and Aoraki.

Watched as debsnz and Woody charged off in a race to find this one. I arrived just in time to sign the log. Found with Woody104 and debsnz
We're motivated to find this string of caches on a drizzly day! On the the next cache. Thanks.
There were some muggles having a cup of tea at the beginning so told them what I was doing. They knew about geocaching
A nice and pleasant walk, great to be sheltered from the wind. We did the walk some years ago with only one cache placed and a few days later all the other new ones turned up. So this was on the todo list for quite a while - all easy finds and no problems. TFTC
Cracker frost and fine day, so parked, boots on , find cache, start walking. thanks
A fine winters drive. TFTC. We sat to watch and listen to a tom-tit bird twittering around a car mirror and reflections in the side window.
Find delayed by muggles lingering around their cars. Eventually able to approach GZ unobserved & soon had the prize in hand. TFTC
Last of the Gunns Bush caches found today. Found as part of a road trip to Oamaru over Queens Birthday weekend. Thanks for the hide.
Got this one quickly now for the run around the loop.
162 of 270 for a day stretching from Danseys to Thompson's Track.

Thanks W.E.K.A, was nice to meet you both.. Thanks for your help too, am going to invest in a handheld GPS rather than the unreliable cell phone!
A quick easy find, and it was nice to meet jimjamz, collecting a few caches during his lunch hour while working in the area. We hope he and his family have an enjoyable return trip to walk the loop track. TFTC
Last visit here was for the original, Gunns Trek. Vivid memories of the most unusual moss carpet on the lower part of the track, and it was just as amazing today. No problem making the finds today, all except the last one that is. Enjoyed the re-visit and the walk.

Our last day in Waimate so why not come and enjoy another little walk track the town has to offer. This is the first on the track but we did it last because of muggles packing up camp nearby.tftc
Found by torch light after completing a presentation to a group staying in the camp down the road. With the 'office shoes' on, wasn't game to try walking any further up the track which looked quite damp for the other caches. Some other time! TFTC
Our only DNF for the day. We couldn't find it on the way in or the way out. Ruined our clear run. LOL
Quick find on way in to hopefully bag the lot. However GPS was having a bad day with limited clear view of the sky, so only found 6 of the 12 - the other 6 we never even got to look for because the GPS wasn't working.
Walked right by this one...oh well, now we have a reason to come back! Thanks heaps Bitsprayer!
