one of the 3 fences has been removed and there is a pile of tires and fencing wire nearby. Two recent DNFs. Needs a check from CO but not hopeful as haven't been active since 2013.
First cache along this road through to other places. Parked across the way and zoned in on G Z. Soon had the cache in hand but - no lid, munted/melted container, damp log-book, mushy contents. Needs some attention I say.
I've had a busy couple of weeks at work and was originally supposed to be working today, but with a couple of other things looming on the horizon I asked if I could have the day off before starting back on night shift tomorrow night, and yes was the answer. So, with mrs capperz supposedly at work this morning on the early shift I also got up and underway and was on the road from home at around 0615, with a full days caching ahead, culminating with the event near Mapua at (I thought 1500, it was actually 1400 - oops, made it in time though).
With thick fog all the way through from Wairau river bridge to the Whangamoa saddle it was steady driving to get me into Nelson just after 8, and a full day saw me back at home for 1845 after a catch up at The power of 3 cache with Ricardinho, the Seagnoid, TB Dragon and Jojo. A successful day was had with some park n grabs out Central Road way, a couple of previous DNFs conversted to smilies (and a couple of new DNFs to add to the list!) and a few points towards the latest souvenir scramble. Thanks to all COs for their hides, specific stories where I remember.

I must admit this was one of the most unpleasant cache experiències I've had. On arrival the cache container was lying in the old dry gorse open and empty. Shifting the gorse was not pleasant but all the contents of importance were eventually found except for the lid.Working in the heat, long grass and the biting ants added to thoughts of a violent solution. No informative sign either of anything about this place.
Our first pass by, we couldn't stop due to a vehicle following us, so went down the road a bit and did a quick u-turn and went back for another try. No one around this time and cache was found.
After tea there was still plenty of light and I got my second wind. My eldest son came along for the ride with his crazy Mum, JDSCout stayed back at the camp site and finished his beer and had a wee after dinner siesta.
Gorse galore up here but I found a way around it. I rescued a travel bug too [Click here to find out about NZs next big event; OamaruGeofest](http://oamarugeofest2017.wixsite.com/geocachingevent)

Found with TregearP whilst exploring the area. A tad wet, but great views.
All in good order. TNLNSL, TFTC.

A quick find as SJT_NZ and I were looking for property around Nelson / Tasman area. TFTC all in good order. I was challenged by the cache name until we got to the GZ and the explanation was at hand, very cool
Site is nicely clear of gorse, I would have never known this sign was here, ty very much!
Seventy five years on and the community still seems peaceful.
A hefty geotrail to the GZ was spotted as I pulled up, but I was glad I read the hint as it saved a fair amount of gorse-related searching.
The cache is still happy-as and as dry as the day it was placed.
Thanks

As I approached I saw a 10l black bucket and thought “wow, the cache is just lying on the side of the road”. Actually there is an empty 10l black bucket, a car door and bits of a broken windscreen lying on the side of the road. The cache is still exactly where the hint says it will be. Thanks for placing this. The community idea is intriguing. Apologies for late logging.
Quick find while doing a few caches in the area TFTC ignore the note as i pushed wrong link on my phone
Autumn's bounty across the road ... dodging the bird pecked ones I enjoyed the most delicious tree ripened apple. TFTC. No. 14
Another lovely winterscape and roosters guarding the gz. It is a most wonderful day. Thanks for the play.
#9463. What an interesting piece of history! The plaque is now on the ground, and the cache container has buckled badly in the heat, but still seems water tight. TFTC.
A location that I would have driven past without knowing about the back story - that's what I love about geocaching, it takes you places that you wouldn't otherwise know about.
As StreetWalker's log mentions, the info board is unfortunately just laying on the ground.
Our GPSr's were indicating we should carry on into the plantings, but the hint soon put us right. Container a bit munted, but contents still OK. Thanks for bringing me here and thanks for the cache.

It was a hot day and the cache was even hotter. It looked like it had melted. Once it cooled down we opened it up and logged it. Tftc
Typical for us,as this Road became quite busy,so we had to be stealthy..But we'r good at doing that.TFTC
Quick park and grab, although bit of moisture starting to creep into the container and bag. TFTC
Walked around in circles, goin by GPS way out paddle chick yelling out this way finally found
Have not been in this road before. There was a muggle at the other cache on this road so will have to come back
Staying in the old homeland for the Easter break with mrs tws, had a great time and weather not to bad, real nice on Easter Monday
Nice hide, many thanks
Nice hide, many thanks
Took the wrong turning to get back to SH 60 and ended up near to here, so stopped briefly for a quick find. Nice view. Signed log, TFTC
Found on our Christmas Eve caching trip. Thanks for the cache and. Merry Christmas.
Lovely spot and I imagine it would be even better if the sun was shining! t4TC:)
found the cache OK and noticed a tent set up in the gorse bushes must be a great place for a camp
If there wasn't this cache, I wouldn't notice that woodlot sign, even I live right behind the corner! Thanks for another interesting place.
A quick & easy find on another solid day's caching in the top of the south. TFTC
Just up the road from another cache so a park and grab. The trees sure look good. TFTC
I hadn't been in this area for many years so geocaching was the perfect excuse to come back. TFTC.

A bit of violence occurred during the retrieval and signing of this log. Mr Geckoh and Miss Geckoh had a bit of a half hearted battle over the find and replacement - we must work on our anger management skills. TFTC

A quick find on a beautiful day. Thanks for bringing me to this location. Appreciate the sentiment but doubt it causes more non violent conflict resolution Then again, who knows?
Thank you for placing this cache.

Came up here before but was muggled out with apple tree prunners. On my way to my parents for dinner well after any body would still be working I popped up to do this. A paddock of these would be worth a fortune. Good country cache. Thanks
Haha found you! I took some things and left some things, and got some very concerned looks from the pruners across the road wondering what the hell I was up too. Haha TFTC.
Its been years since Ive walked down through the woodlot shooting rabbits dropped of tb TFTC
Well spotted. Great wee sign. Made a quick find and then off down another road I'd never been on before.
Great first cache.
Congratulations
Great first cache.
Congratulations
#570, found during my kiwi traveling. Log in june, because I was without net. TFTC
Nice and easy find, enjoyed the little ambulance toy stamp trade item! Didnt think it would have ink and stamped the car to find out it was very inky and had left stamp marks on the boot! Made for a laugh, thanks!
Found while enjoying a caching expedition in the region on a cracker still morning. TFTC
I agree with previous logs - we could do with a whole lot more of this ideology in the world. Steel belts hmmm ouch. TFTC #3265
Found on Easter Sunday with furpurse, Mum & Dad. #14/36 finds for the day, second consectutive day for breaking my daily record.
Fast find. Its been done alot considering the cache isnt that old. Left balloon. TFTC

Nice One!!!!!!!!Fist time up the road this far. Very unique community with a concept we could do a lot more off. Clever hide. You don't really need the clue on this one. Much fun. Thanks
Out to do a few caches after tea - did the circuit and picked up a SoBad cache as well as this one. Nice hide. TFTC
Seemed a wee caching expedition after dinner was just the ticket and this was the first cache we zeroed in on. The hint gave the idea that this was drop-dead easy, but not so. A cool hide. Thanks for the cache. Hopefully it will be the first of many for you.
Last day of my weeks holiday so we thought we might do some caching.A bit late starting had a sleep in for a change.Been up this road a few times for different caches it was nice to see some more up this way the view was great but i think it would be better on a fine day never mind.Tftc
Get home from work at 7pm and before I even get out of the car Stretch0 says we have to go out !!!!! a quick change out of my uniform and off we go - off to a familiar road ( I used to have a cache a bit further up the road) but to a feature I had not noticed when placing mine A great concept we could all do with the practice of growing non-violence thanks for the cache and another FDF for us
FTF & FDF Working from home today so I was able to pop out for an early lunch break and find the cache. Some interesting personal connections here, apart from being sympathetic to the communities aims and principles... Mrs Biggles family considered settling in the community when they migrated to NZ in the mid-70's. They ended up in Auckland instead which was lucky for me . I also have a not-too-distant-relative-by-marriage that has resided in the community for a few years now. So, thanks for placing the cache. I don't think I would have ever stopped to read the sign and reflect on it otherwise. Certainly something the world could with a whole lot more of. TFTC, Biggles.
FTF had been logged before Mrs SoBad finished work but still happy to go for a FDF as it fitted in well with a cache maintenance run. Hmm, last time things fitted so well we had a DNF - but no problems today. Certainly didn't know this woodlot was here - how often do we write that - although we had been in the general area before. Dropped in a couple of TB's as we suspect that there will be other finders today. Thanks.
Got home to find this one showing as closest to home Needing some more FDF's (First Day Finds) But the FTF (First To Find) already claimed I awaited Niteowlnz's finnish time and no sooner she had got home and we were on our way . A quick stop and find to see an area we had passed a few times and not known about. Thanks for bringing us here and keep up the good work in placing caches
