Cache collected today as sign gone.

A quick find today thanks to the hint from the CO! Cache easily accessible and in good shape. Tftc!

27-Mar-23
Looked everywhere around the initial coordinates but no plaque. Then used other resources: photos at google maps location. What do you know, someone posted a picture of the plaque. Went back, still could not locate it. Calculated coordinates from the photo, seems to point to a reasonable location closeby. But at that point I had no idea where to search exactly. So many spots both up and down and no hint. Tried for a while but gave up. Will try to get extra hint...

14-Feb-23
Managed to figure out what was going on and make the find. Thanks.

29-Jan-23
Sitting here just now and cant seem to find the plaque anywhere

A nice simple multi. TFTC.

15-Jul-22
Nice easy multi and I love an easy multi did some swaps tftc

18-Mar-22
I was gathering info for a few multi's around town this morning. When I figured out this hide was close I couldn't resist having a look for it. I should have read capperz's log before I started to sidle. But when I came to a big weedy mess I realized my mistake and back-tracked. Once up higher it was an instant find of a well-stocked container. TFTC

23-Oct-21
Had a quick look for this one. Pretty certain we figured out the correct location but couldn't find it this time.

Second DNF for me today.
Got the answers and coordinates, showed almost in the water, but I tried to get there straight from where I was. Too slippery, to back to main track and down when I was close.
Found a nice hiding spot but no cache, searched some other possible places but still no luck. Was quite slippery after all the rain and I gave up. Back home I checked the numbers (I took a photo of the plaque) and I still come up with the same coordinates (only that it is S 41º not S 14ª). Again, will keep an eye open if it will be found soon and if so, I will come back and have another look.

On to this Multi first and an easy gather of the details and headed to suggested GZ. Despite knowing it probably wouldn't be 'down there', I still descended faffed and returned on high. Checked where I suspected it would be, and it was. T F T C

Last day of May and after a nights rest at home I was back over the hill for a second consecutive day to get an unfound (by me) Earthcache from Brook Valley as well as some other cache treats. Only a modest few caches today but a nice walk around the airport and a FTF too!

A funny long weekend this one was. mrs capperz has headed to the North Island to await the birth of grandchild number 12, yes 12 (with another due in October), and so I was at a 'loose end', yeah right. Also on the agenda is an impending move of us and the household to Auckland, maybe as soon as 4 weeks time, and I have 3 days off work, fuel is not too badly priced at the minute (starting to sound like a Blues Brothers line) so it was a chance to roll down the drive for 3 separate forays into Nelson/Tasman territory to pick off some random caches. Not a 'numbers' trip, more a settling the stats trip. I was keen to make a few more beltfamily cache finds to get to the magical triple figures, plus some unfinished rail business from Marlborough's t S. A weekend of great tramping/walking/caching weather, 3 consecutive days of 20kms walked, nice, and some great scenery.

Horray. The maitai walkway is such a nice spot & even nicer with no-one passing the swimming hole while working out the co-ordinates. The final spot was initially a little confusing but once I decided on the sensible route to the cache, it was in safe hands. Thanks for bringing me to this site. Find #545

20-Jul-19
Out for a walk with cousin bubs and dog and thought this was a good opportunity for a find. Bit muddy today and log was a tad damp after all this rain. TFTC!

Sunny after some rain!

19-Apr-19
Headed down the beach this afternoon to look for a wee nipper but had no luck there after 20 min or so and was on a tightish schedule so headed off to the aim of the day - visiting the grandson and picking up a parcel of caching stuff I had had delivered to them. While there I found out there was a new member to the caching family so met them at a nearby cache that we had found, but that neither of the new teams had been able to find despite a lot of searching. Well I couldn't find it either, so time for plan C. There's this multi along the track abit so time to show the newbie how to do a multi. Got the information, converted to co-ords but I punched the numbers in wrong. Even double and triple checked them. Finally I spotted my error and off to a nice simple find at the final. Oh well - off to the optometrist next week I think. tftc

05-Mar-19
Found this neat little track and decide to follow it..while doing so noticed this multi..sat down and an easy solve...after a sort walk soon had the log signed...thanks sobad nice multi and great to find new areas

02-Mar-19
This was one of my 3 target caches today. By claiming this I have now filled in the hidden date calendar or whatever it is called, so there is something Smile
It was a simple multi, but interesting. As I took a pew to work out the numbers a rowdy group came down to throw a stick into the water for their dog to retrieve. Cheers. Apparently it needed some de-energising.
So that happened. Then I made a meal of finding the cache. It was a little closer to the track than I was exploring, but in such a way as you will not spot it unless you are looking. A few muggles went passed; I did my bemused person looking at their phone shtick until they went and eventually I nutted it out. Yay! Thanks SoBad.

I had planned a while out to make the trip over the hill today. Lately my Canterbury finds have been well outstripping the Tasman/Nelson ones, so thought this needed some redress. If I can get over once every 6 weeks or so this year that would be great.
So the weather played ball, and the plans were loose. 3 caches were on my wishlist, but none were essential today. Instead I kind of just looked at what was next closest on the map and went for that. In the end I only found one of those anyway.
There is never a bad day caching I guess, but today there were some challenges. Any thoughts of walks in the hills were quickly extinguished (excuse the pun) due to the fire ban; a couple of problem hides that I thought I had good ken on still proved elusive; and it was muggle central at a few others due to sports and whatnot. I probably DNFed or did not attempt more caches than I actually found today, so the day went quickly. Just 21 to log as found, but some good ones in there. Had good success with multis, and even solved the finals for some that will require visits later. Also caught up for a chat with team GKMLB who had helped with an SOS!
Thanks to all the COs. I will log the DNFs and hopefully they are more down to my incompetence than anything.

I had some things to do in the "Big Smoke" today. I decided I'd try and sign off on some Multi caches that I had part done previously while I was in town. TFTC

17-Jul-18
I had an opportunity to go to the South Island and take a week off work and do some caching while Mrs Yeetrees had to go to the ANZEG Conference 2018 which was being held in Nelson.

Day 4. Nelson. This was the second day of 4 that Mrs Yeetrees had to attend classes and lectures at the ANZEG Conference 2018, while she was doing this it was my aim to go around the CBD and nearby and see if I could pick up a few of the harder caches around the area. This included a few different types of caches rather than just hitting traditional drive by caches.

After finding GC1MDRZ - Vibrating Cleveland (Nelson/Marlborough), this was the next cache that I had on my list that I wanted to find today. As I made my way out of the Maitai Valley this was the next cache I managed to find a parking spot not too far from the entrance to the walkway and it was a nice easy walk over to GZ.

Arriving at GZ, I managed to find all the information that I required and once I did thisit gave me the numbers to where the final cache was going to be.

Arriving at the final co-ordinates it only took a few seconds to find the cache in it hiding spot. Managed to retrieve the cache, signed and then replaced the cache back as found. Thanks SoBad for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (13599). Now where too next.

Very interesting I'll look up more about it when i get home. A lot of water through here this week but cache quite safe of course.
Thanks very much!

This was one place I did want to see - so many thanks SoBad for a cache as an extra attraction. A bit of history, a nice paddle and an appropriately sized container in a good location. Well done!

Nice multi, GPS initially lead us astray but better on second try and cache found in sensible place. TFTC.

19-May-17
In town a bit early to pick up the better half from work. This multi was nearby so off I headed. A quick grab of the required info then a quick find at the final. Surprised that saw no one else on the track the whole time but made it easier to do the search and sign. Thanks for the multi and thanks for the cache.

22-Jan-17
It is GKs birthday and we were wanting to go for a bit of a walk, the weather was a bit unpredictable so we decided to do some of the multis in town, this was the third for today. Quickly sorted the numbers then wandered along beside the raging river and made a fairly quick find at GZ. Thanks SoBad for the cache

19-Jan-17
Quick find - once we'd entered the solution correctly into the GPS!

6th geocache! Really smart

Got the information, but couldn't find the prize. Will try again when next in the area. Nice spot!

23-Feb-16
Over a year since the last time this was found, gps was putting me in a funny spot or two but was so excited once I saw it.
Was my last day in Nelson so a good way to finish off the visit to this town

01-Feb-15
This was a quick cache find, although we were hindered a little by a family of muggles in the nearby swimming hole. All quiet during the find though thankfully.

Had never been down this walkway before and found the history most interesting. A lovely swimming spot indeed, despite the depleted waters of the Maitai this dry summer, which a young couple were enjoying when we arrived. Pretty sure the young man was unaware that he was guilty of "bathing in the Ladies’ bathing place". Wonder what the penalty is/was?
We soon gathered the info and worked out some likely co-ordinates and a short walk later, were signing the log book. Dropped off a TB that I have hung on to for too long Red Face.
Thanks for a nice straightforward multi and the history lesson.

#9065. We did a few multis today. The young couple who were swimming probably wondered what we were up to when we came down to the seat, and then stared intently at something nearby. We were pleased to see we didn't have to go any further the track; we were findingthe humidity a bit draining. Quick find by Troodles once we got to GZ. TFTC.

Found eventually - after a very long walk. I must have put one of the numbers in wrong, and the coords were up the hill. Being at night, I didn't know how high the nearby road was... Luckily the GPS lost the 'next stage', and they ended up in a very diffferent spot the second time. Thanks.

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.

Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!

So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!

Almost every single log we signed as 'Team Polak' to avoid needing to write out both usernames taking up space on logsheet - as well as precious caching time!! Haha.

Consec caching day # 704

TFTC!! Smile

For the sake of sanity Wink we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!

We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!

Come and join us the next New Zealand geocaching MEGA event!! Register your interest now at www.nzmega2015.com to receive newsletter updates and be the first to know. It will be a great event, come and be a part of it!!

A short walk to get a bit of fresh air before the forecast rain arrives. It didn't take long to get the co-ords so off to GZ to make the find. Fortunately we DID decide to take the GPS after all since the compass on the phone was determined it wasn't going to countdown after putting the waypoint in. A quick find in the end and an enjoyable walk. TFTC.

21-May-14
It was perfect between shifts and between showers. A walk we hadn't done for a while. The T rating sure helped to not look where the GPS pointed before it finally settled down. TFTC

12745… An interesting piece of history and a nice location, many thanks for the Matai Mini Multi, TFTC.

27-Apr-13
I made this one a little bit harder than I probably needed too, should've trusted the terrain rating! Nice little multi to end an afternoon caching. TFTC

13-Apr-13
Attempted this months ago. Solved puzzle quickly but then had too many muggles around to have a look for it. Lost the second coordinates so was passing this morning and thought its about time this one was ticked off. Re did the puzzle and then proceeded to make it as difficult as possible to find. Should have taken a look at the T rating first Smile

20-Jan-13
Found this one after i figured out how to add waypoints, tftc. Didnt swim but looks like a nice spot.

01-Jan-13
Perhaps scrambling around the banks next to the river wasn't the greatest idea at night...but nobody got wet and the cache was soon in hand. TFTC!

16-Dec-12
Very nice corner of the city, I might have come too late to see somebody swinging there. Anyway, I quickly did the math and found the cache in the same speed. Great fun, thanks!

Glad to have a short caching trip to get me out of the office, always nice to wander about when the weather is good. Funny that we chose a sunny Saturday to take a tour of Maitai swimming holes but we seemed to get away with it! The locals at this one seemed to have absolutely no interest in what we were doing at all, we could have been invisible. Gen-Y or Gen-Z seem to have no interest in Gen-S (or whatever we are). Took the hard road to GZ for a simple find. TFTC!

24-Nov-12
Very popular area today with teenagers, the river looked great. Had to remind integersmirk that we are generation X. Nice stroll to the cache. Thank you Smile

09-Oct-12
Second attempt at this one and not sure how I missed the cache last time.....I was SO close!!

20-Sep-12
Nice little multi on a well remembered track around the Maitai. I've never swum in this hole but certainly looked inviting. TFTC

09-Sep-12
Lots of muggles about today

31-May-12
A rather interesting outing after work. My very knowledgable auto-router had me up on the hillside. Soon became obvious that that was not where I was meant to be - - but met up with an ex-colleague and had a great catch-up. Smile - - Found the right track, after which the cache was soon in hand. Feels very much like I fitted another piece into my mental jigsaw puzzle of Nelson. TFTC. Smile

28-May-12
A plaque I knew pretty well from other geocache outings. Lots of lunch time muggles made locating the cache tricky but finally a gap in the traffic and spotted it. Retreated back to the seat to complete the paperwork. No sign of any bathing ladies today, shame, maybe next time. Wink TFTC.

22-Apr-12
Took far too much looking! Finally success Smile

16-Apr-12
We too know this spot very well, as we had a cache ready to go here at the same time as the previous one was published, a couple of years ago! TFTC

09-Apr-12
Got back here today to fill in the correct log book Smile a quick find and we had a laugh about how close the two caches managed to get put in. A nice little multi and we enjoyed the visit to this area again Smile TFTC

09-Apr-12
A quick find today on a repeat visit to fill in the correct log book Smile a strange coincidence I was exactly below this spot when I got stung - lol must have been some sort of sign from the universe that I didnt pick up on the other day - ( or just a pain for being in the wrong spot lol thanks for the cache Smile

A good cache to do with your dog on a hot afternoon! Excellant swimming spot! Good one thanks Topgear01 (and dog).

30-Mar-12
What a balls up! It is funny though - more of a multi than first expected. Two caches placed about one metre apart asking to be published on the same day. Quick find without the formula at a place I had already sussed out. No bonus cache available any longer. I'm really sorry to the cachers who found the girlie cache and have realised later that they hadn't found this one. There's always a new experience waiting with geocaching isn't there? i don't want to repeat it though. TFTC #3147

29-Mar-12
A nice quick multi-cache in a good area. Soon at final and located both the caches. SL's TFTC

26-Mar-12
Looks like 2 cachers both decided this was a nice spot. Someone will be able to find ours without going to the waypoint. Sorry we just pipped you to a listing as a FDF would have been nice!! Ours has our usual camo - and the right name on the log.

26-Mar-12
A third FDF and a 2nd place at this cache today. Found the numbers OK at a fairly familiar spot then wandered off to GZ. I also found another unpublished cache a few metres away before I located this one. Signed the log in both but unfortunately will never be able to claim the other one as found. Ah well, that happens. Anyway, a nice quick multi and then it was time to head home to work. TFTC, Biggles.

26-Mar-12
Took Ms M on a Maitai Meander and got two for the price of one. One for the girlie and one for the bloke.
Discovered the two TB's.

26-Mar-12
A quick after work FDF, there were three young fellows at the waypoint braving the murky water.
Found the correct one straight off, so didn't bother to hunt for the Girlie one.

A body feeling battered and sore all over from a day before, needed a wee walk to get things moving. Found the girlie cache dodging lots of walkers and runners. thanks for this one.

25-Mar-12
OH...there are two caches here....a girlie one....and the correct one ....signed both !!

25-Mar-12
Sorry SoBads the girlie one is mine also placed yesterday. Got an email this morning to say it couldn't be published because another was placed very close and was in the queue before mine. However I was on my way north by then so it will need to stay there until the end of the week. Thats the second time in a row that thats happened to me now. I've another couple in the pipeline so hopefully you'll get a FDF with them.

25-Mar-12
Bet the unpublished one had a nice pink picture on the cache page Wink
