Difficult with the ongoing works, but hopefully soon there will be a break and I will get in a replacement.
Work is still continuing on this site but I am currently scouting nearby for a suitable replacement area, not too far from original spot.
Yes, I do intend to undisable this but demolition is still in the area and I am cut off from the cache site temporarily as it is a construction zone and no public access.
Looks like I need to temporarily disable this cache while the demolition of this fine old building is finished. Will reassess area and placement when it is finished.
#320 its proximity to the demolition might reduce its life - it looks like the main building will go soon. Sad sight.
Very sad to see the House of Pain in such pain itself. Proud to come and pay our respects though. End of an era. TFTC
Tonight we had 10 eyes on the job (12 if you count my glasses as I was told) No Vee but young Patrick Hammond and family but I found this one first. Sorry to see the House of Pain looking so much in pain.
Took a fair bit of searching as the GPS on my phone was having trouble getting good signal past the big building. TFTC.
Nice spot - so glad did this in the afternoon with a friend - would feel a little creeped out on my own as things creaked and groaned in the staduim :S
That ain't my 'Brook! Got quite a shock rolling up here this afternoon...finding the cache help alleviate it though!
My effort of getting up early was paid! Relatively easy. The cache is good condition. Thanks.
The House of Pain proved to be a painfully hard cache for us to find. But finally on our fourth (if could even be fifth) return visit we found it straight away. I have a feeling that perhaps we had been looking around a different hint object on previous visits, otherwise all I can say is that we must be blind!! Thanks Castlewood Crew.
kids were out of car and snatched it before we could even get our doors open TNLNSL

A well trodden path now marks this cache. Loved the house of pain. Lots of good memories. Tftc. Tslo
12 of 12 today. Had been here previously and looked everywhere and didn't find it, but today straight to it, obviously in a much easier spot - yay. TFTC
Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
It was nice and quiet back here today, so after a quick search, the cache was soon in hand

had looked for this one once before, but gave it away after GPS signal kept bouncing all over the show.
This cache has had a pretty bad hammering over the MEGA weekend - it looks as if elephants have been living around the area! 24
Guwapo had to help with this one, for some reason my GPS was playing silly games and it wouldn't give any magnetic direction variation - very frustrating!Signed log on October 2012 at 19:56:00

The area around the GZ is getting a good work over from slipping shoes. The cache is in good shape. TFTC
Day 5 on our 6 day caching trip to Dunedin for the NZ MEGA 2012 event with Gunnie69, Kaisho53, Ozibags, ghostgums and MrMeccano. Once again we hit the road reasonably early with a plan. The day started off spent around Saint Clair, St Kilda, South Dunedin, Kensington, Mosgiel, and Caversham.
Sorry about the bulk log but I am never going to catch up at this rate.
TFTC, Castlewood_Crew!

I was the only in the group who knew the significance of the place and why it was called the house of pain! The hypothermia was only part of it. Looking a bit run down these days.
Kaiho53 found this one.

Our dear friend RexTrex was looking for a suitable cache for his milestone 1500th find. Being a Kiwi travelling with Aussies he was more than happy to choose this location! Congratulations Rex. And thanks CC.
As this was a significant find for RexTrex we stood back and let him do the hunting. Congratulations Rex on your 1500th! Thanks Castlewood for taking us here, have heard of the stadium while watching some Rugby back in Oz.
Ghostgums, being the rugby fan among us, gave us a run down on the venue and why it was named as it is... Ahuh, we are much wiser for his knowledge... [^]
At GZ, it was almost cold enough for us Brisbanites to feel like we were on the inside. But, we battled on in search of the cache and it wasn;t long before Kaisho53 pulled the container from its lair. Back to the van for some warmth and to add a sticker to the log, everything was replaced and we left the pain behind...
Found in the company of fellow Queensland hunters Kaisho53, OziBags, TheFourBees, Ghostgums and Mr Meccano.
Cheers Castlewood Crew.

Caching with Ghostgums, Mr Meccano, Gunnie69, kaisho53 and fourbees while attending the NZ Mega. If the house of pain is about players getting very cold, then I can relate to that today . TFTC Castlewood Crew.
Another neat little find as we headed back from the peninsula and the lighthouse. A wet day on our tour, but we manged to make the find. The lighthosue ended up being out of reach which was a little disappointing, but the drive was still worth it.
Found with ZsaZsa7, Winglen, fitzy_1965 and Rextrex (local NZer) on our trip around the South Is after attending the New Zealand Mega. We managed to grab a few caches on travels and this was just one of them.
Thanks for this one, another one to the tally.

5549 + 591 = 6140. Day 3 of my week long visit to the New Zealand South Island for the NZ Mega 2012 event along with Sol de Lune, Zsazsa7, Winglen and RexTrex.
A general run from Dunedin out to the Peninsula and back caching. Heading 'back' now and stopped to grab this cache. Congrats to RexTrex on a minor milestone find here - eventually ! Thanks again Castlewood Crew ! Pain? What Pain? The Canberra Raiders have never lost here?
TNLN – TFTC !!
Cheers....

A shared find with my Aussie caching mates Winglen, Zsazsa7, Sol de Lune and Fitzy-1965 as a part of the NZMEGA2012 experience and our subsequent tour.
This was about my 1500th cache so my Aussie mates let me do the deed in the flaxbush (until they had to hand the cache to me so we could get on with life). They were well aware of the House of Pain and departing the area caused them no grief.
Thanks Castlewood Crew - good historic cache location (for some).

Last day in Dunedin for Sully1 and I as we visited as many caches as we could before making our way to Oamaru for the last night in NZ. The cold fierce wind today didn't deter us and the range of hides was once again a large one.
This was a quick find again, thanks Castlewood Crew

Found along with bogonghazy after the Mega Event, while picking up as many as we could before leaving Dunedin and beginning the trek towards Christchurch and the inevitable trip home. Sadly the weather had begun to turn on us this morning, but like true Ozzie troopers we continued our NZ assault armed with raincoats. Thanks to Castlewood Crew for placing this cache, and for bringing us here.
Finding the correct street for this one proved hardest, the actual cache was pretty easily, just follow the muddy trail to GZ...sure are encountering alot of shrubbery hides but this one was not too painful.

House of pain is an appropriate name for any cache in a flax plant, luckily there had been many tracks made around the plant, so it was a fairly straight forward find. Thanks for this one, no one about today.
Out for our last day in Dunedin. The Mega over, many teams returning home.

After an enjoyable morning caching in and around Dunedin and attending the mega cleanup CITO in the inner city...Roostaman and I decided to continue the day with some caching around Dunedin and then head out of town a little to find a few more. I'm not sure about the house of pain...but where the cache was situated could probably described much the same. Luckily it was found after a short search around.

Ya know, I never knew Flax was so big. I always thought it was a small plant, I learn so much with caching. THANK YOU. Found with mtbikeroz
Find # 4567 and a total of 45 today with Marcus Vitruvius, on our NZ Mega trip.
Another day of Mega caching all around the Dunedin area.
Another cache in this stuff, and one we were glad to find, and then on the way again.

Made a quick find due to a MEGA geotrail. I do like the new stadium. Sad to see this one go just like losing Athletic Park last century.

Out and about on a MEGA cache raid with IndiannaJill and team FMZ. Seemed an appropriate place to visit while the rugby game was on. We made this one harder than it needed to be TFTC.
Today is the last day of the NZ Mega... Decided to grab some caches after the CITO in central Dunedin...
Grabbed this cache whilst travelling with highrod & Kinkell1 & taking in the fantastic views around the area... What an absolutely beautiful country to explore and photograph...
Thanks For The Cache & for bringing me here
