Out with ConnieandRick for the day lots of fun as always! Unfortunately this wasnt willing to be found today maybe next time!Happy trails, Deanside
Out with ConnieandRick for the day lots of fun as Unfortunately this one didnt want to be found today! Maybe next time Happy trails, Deanside
Out with deanside having a great day of fun and laughs. We had planned to go to Clunes but the day turned out way too warm, so we did a few 'leftovers' in Ballarat to make the map seem a bit more yellow! But we looked and looked and no find unfortunately.
Seemed like this one must be high up, but sadly we didnt have the supplies so we had to log a DNF.
Did Not Find this one at 4.15pm A trip to Ballarat for an appointment in the morning then in the afternoon we went looking for a few caches.Heading home after doing some shopping at the plaza nearby, we stopped off here to locate this one. Looked everywhere but unable to find it.
Well Gran decided she wanted to have another go before I headed back to Melbourne and Mum wanted to come to join the adventure. Unfortunately we weren't able to find this one today
We found this cache today on our Ballaratatattat Tour XVI in company of Backpaqer. It was 13.5 years since our last Ballarat tour together way back in 2009, so it was high time for another trip today. Luckily, the ladder was with us. Thanks from D B-A
We are targeting the BGT series and this one was nearby. Thanks for hiding and enhancing our exploration of the area.
On the hunting trail with Liz & Bruce on a Warrnambool Christmas adventure via the the longer caching route of course. ???? Another great day for caching. ?? TFTC Shamus1

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

Recent log indicating the cache was not a mint container helped. Had already clued in re necessary tool thanks to the description. A nice morning stroll from our nearby Airbnb and our first find for the trip. TFTC.
In Ballarat for the day and 20minutes to kill before the ice cream shop opened. So headed for this with Spiffy-
We poked about here and there then used a nearby trolley to gain a vantage point and the extra small mint tin that could hold only 1 mint or a pack of nanno mints, was found.
Thanks to Shamus1 for the fun and the adventure.

After gathering a multi with a DT 2.5/2.5 I then only needed one more to qualify for 16 * 100 DT challenge that I signed earlier in the year so we headed to this one while waiting for the ice cream shop to open to get the adventure lab information for that and more importantly an actual ice cream.
The cache was a lot smaller than the description mentions so it took a little while to find but after whizzing me around in a nearby shopping trolley I managed to spot it and we had the log signed of my 100th 2.5/2.5 cache.
Thanks Shamus1 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Found @12:02
This was spotted in seconds once at GZ but the retrieval too a little bit of problem solving, initially used a stick but this failed (too weak) then spotted some abandon shopping trolleys so pushed these into a good position to allow a way to gain about 30cm in height which was all that was needed to make the grab. Signed in the 23rd position. No muggles around at this time. Was passing thru the area assisting with prep work for the up coming Mega event In Jan 2022. Like these style of hides. [^]

Sorry for the late log and a generic log. A combination of some heath issues making me not able to look at the computer for any length of time and a mishap with my phone that has caused me to lose my list of saved caches.
Found on a trip out with AusFox;.
Thank you for the hide

It was a chilly start to the day, but it didn’t stay that way. A perfect day to grab a few smiles around Ballarat with SimsFamily.
We spent a while searching around amongst the detritus until SimsFamily spotted the hide:
Log signed and replaced as found.

A day trip to Ballarat, with events, a CITO, some solved mysteries and a handful of multis on the agenda.
First time we stopped by, there were teens hanging around right near gz, so we left it for another day.
But then while finding a cache up the road, we saw said teens walk by.
So we returned, and after a thorough search, RoamingHowie put his hand on the sneaky blighter.
No ladder required for us here today.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, Shamus1

A day trip out west to Ballarat today to attend the events and grab a few more caches.
Our first visit to this cache was thwarted before we even got out of the car. 4 youths sitting on the tables at GZ made for an impossible discreet extraction. We moved on to other caches only to spot the same 4 youths walking by. Now is our chance. We arrived to find 2 new youths in place but were to consumed by a video on their phone to notice us. Stealth mode level expert engaged. An initial visual inspection narrowed down the likely spots this cache could be hidden. Some casual feeling around eventually turned up the sneaky hide! No ladder required for us today.
Thanks Shamus1 for the cache.

This is about the 5th time we visited this site.
We were the cachers who assisted Hozzles, to not find it too.
Today we came armed with the ladder!!!!!
Any wonder we couldn’t find it. We were looking for an Eclipse tin not a nano.
Anyone who could see this from the ground has X-ray vision.
This was frustratingly found feeling not seeing..... good luck to the next finder.
TFTC
Thank goodness we can put this one to bed!!!!!!!

TFTC 2nd time here... I pondered and saw the rating and everywhere I looked there was nothing to use to gain some elevation... so I made do with a couple of trollies lying around and soon after a while had this mystery cache in my paws...
No luck today but thanks so much to the couple who looked with us (didn't get your geoname!) plus the two loud muggles which made for an interesting experience will try again very soon!
Seeing the DNF's before we arrived we were considering bypassing this one but thought would go for the challenge anyway and we were successful.
Ended up being a very quick finds once we considered the terrain rating.
Great spot but hate to try and find this one on a busy weekend lunch

Looked everywhere even past 10m. Could have missed it but we couldn't find it anywhere
From the clues i concentrated my search in one area. I either didn't see it or was in wrong area. Will try again.
Didn’t find this one today, will come back again during the day for some better luck
A lot of rubbish here, made the short walk over to GZ, no one was around which made this easier. Cache was easily spotted and then retrieving it took some jumping.
These 4 northern cache on the BSRT had been bugging me. So decided to make the short walk to them today to have them cleared.
Today was all about just caching around Ballarat and collecting a lot of the new caches that had been placed in the last few months. Despite the heaviness of the rain early to the middle of the day 40 finds were made and the 11,000th find was ticked off.
Thanks for the cache

Another cache today that I have had on my to do list for ages, and today I got it. I did look for it some time back, but today was cold and windy and there was no-one around. I looked and looked before finally seeing it right in front of me! So hleo me I get tunnel vision. At least I can cross it off now.
I was driving past on a lovely Ballarat winters morning and the Geo kids wanted to play on the playground, so a quick stop while the kids were playing Geo Dad was off to find the cache. After a little bit of searching I soon had it in hand but a high jump was required to retrieve this. Signed the log and replaced back. Tftc
With regret I walk away... getting a bit dark for me after a big day caching. I’m no shorty but this one left me high and dry ️
A quick visit to this park revealed the cache's hiding place
Time for a TOTT !! [:o]
I found one nearby,
and grabbed the cache

Out enjoying a lovely Ballarat summers day...dodging the showers and torrential downpours .
I managed to keep relative dry while hunting down a few grabs before and after visiting the Doc and some shops for Christmas pressie purchases.
A quick grab b4 hitting the shops.

TFTC. Heading back to Maryborough from a regular trip to Ballarat, stopped here to attempt the cache. A couple of minutes looking around and then I spotted the nano container. Not sure if this was in the original place but being tall enough I could reach it. Replaced exactly as found, but CO may like to check on the hide.
We were in need of a cert facility and wiki camps told us that we would find it here. Once here we noticed a cache on our GPS right here, how fortunate. Hubby was not quite tall enough but with some help he managed to reach the cache.
Bloody Nanos! Spawn of satan. Burn down the Nano factory, and exterminate anyone who sells Nanos.

Cool and it is this morning. 12° cloud cover and wet. It was a stretch. TFTC Cheers
Who knows whether this is a throwdown or not? Its not a mint tin as in the description and is about 4m from where the satellite photo shows the location. It is at the correct height though. If the cache owner confirms that this is not the cache, happy to delete this found log. If it is, it would pay to change the cache notes and maybe post a maintenance log.

I can only reach so tall With my bad back and my 25kg son on my Shoulders. Kids had fun on the playground though so be a complete bummer. Perhaps a climbing attribute could be handy

Not sure about the mint tin?? More like a magnetic nano. However as i hadnt read the description i had an open mind about what we were looking for. Soon it was spotted and one of the few abandoned shopping trolleys came in handy for the retrieval.

Well it wasn’t an eclipse as stated but other than that a quick look around located the cache. It was slightly out of reach but a nearby trolley gave the required lift. TFTC
Found on second attempt at this one and with neither of us over 6 foot tall S flippantly asked if we had anything in the car to stand on to which D said "yes". Once retrieved we found that we needed another TOTT so S went back to the car this time and log was finally signed. Tftc
Late night signing of new logbook tonight after finding the cache on Thursday night but not able to reach it. Made sure i brought the right geotool to get access this time. Tftc Shamus1

This was my third visit and I came prepared in the dark of night. But even with a ladder and checking every nook & cranny I could reach, I still cant find this one. Either it's very well hidden or it's gone walkabout. Hopefully I'll get it one day.
Looked everywhere up high that it could be. As no one has found this one June last year, it's led me to believe that this one may be missing. Would love if owner could confirm.
No luck in even spotting it but if it is high up then I had no hope, maybe bring some steps.
TFTC. Quick find before dark and glad to get a smilie here as this one has eluded me before. Bloody Nanos. ;p
Found this one quickly with kenare and kenbryl. When I read the previous logs I didn't realise how much of a stretch this would be. Cigc. Tftc
We found it quickly and were just about to grab it when other people turned up. After they left it was a quick grab, log, replace and leave. Tftc
Found this with Nugget, and just as well too since I would never have been able to reach it without his help. TFTC
I have had 2 searches for this. One during the day and one at night. Unfortunately I haven't been able to spot it.
Can the CO please verify this one is still there. We had the GZ zero'd and no joy despite an extensive search and a good read of previous logs.
Well, I would have wanted there to be a bit of a challenge for #200... And there was.
Fortunately no muggles, but I was vertically challenged and my jumping grip was no match for the securing mechanism.
Fortunately I did have a personal height increasing device to hand so I was able to get the cache in hand.
Thanks for the exercise whilst getting this cache. For those who come after I recommend you either play for the LA Lakers or come prepared. TNLNSL

Found it fairly quickly thanks to good coordinates. I was confident that I could retrieve it without help (had something long in the car), but I needed my 8yo son to help me put it back. Nice hide! TFTC
Out tonight with sulkybear for dinner minus kids. After finishing I wanted a little more kid free time so made sulkybear grab some caches which required a little more of a reach than I have! An easy find yet he was still too short and lifting me wasn't an option. Back to the car we went to grab a seat. Log signed and then it was home time! Many thanks for the cache
