Day 3 of our 4 day anniversary road trip to Maryborough and out West. Lots of adventure to be had with my love SCAHPA. Log signed as CS & SC to save time and room - Trademark skeleton animals sticker left in cache - TFTC, effort time and maintenance
We continued today our tour of Queensland and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.The weather was - said in one word simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood. The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging. Thanks to sweet - sour for the generation of this nice cache Ginoondan (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they happened.Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood. #5748 [12:36] our extended weekend with crookedpete is ending, the main mission "exploring carnarvon gorge" is over and now we're heading back to brisbane via a bit of side road to enjoy more of local country side and more caches and this was one of them. thanks a lot of placing it here, it's always good to have some reason to stretch legs during long drive.
Road trip! Attending an event out this way this morning, geopup and I caught up with chamad and a turmoil in Gympie and joined forces to collect some caches.A quick find here, log signed, cache replaced as found. Thanks youngoldfella for the cache.
I was pretty excited when I heard that an event was going to be held in Cherbourg. The only cache in the LGA and only 5km from my home town. A trip home to see family was on the cards. Until.....my plans changed and I had someone driving a whole 12 hrs from Sydney to see me. But little TT took one for the team and suffered through a whole day of road tipping and caching with Chamad. She tells me she didn't suffer and that she actually enjoyed herself. I think the deal might have been sweetened when they were joined by Willos007 and her pup. I am sad that I didn't get to share the area with my buddies but glad that the area was shared with my little girl anyway. All the way up to Gayndah even.
A Saturday morning drive to a special event in a rare LGA, awesome cant miss this one. I had triple turmoil (naya) with me and we meet up with Willis007 in Gympie, before heading to this event. A good size turnout and only time enough to catch up with a few of the teams there. It was then off to hopefully grab a few caches northwards as time was pressing on us today. We had no real plans just to get a couple in Gayndah and a few as we passed by.As always it was a day filled with laughs and jokes. We signed the log on this one and replaced all as found. Thanks for placing this one here. This one had me, i could not see it all, yet I was right in sight of it. It was willis007 who enlightened me to this one, gees front on and it's lost, lol. All good with this one and a nice view.
I was on an incredible road trip adventure travelling back to my work location to stay for the week. I stumbled upon this drive-by cache. It was a perfect spot to take a quick break and stretch my legs. The coordinates were spot on, and the cache was cleverly hidden. Thanks to the cache owner for placing this here and adding a fun element to my journey".
We're on our way back home to Brisbane, but there's always time to stop off for a cache.A slight detour and a nice quick find.---Over a week ago we made a trip up to Yeppoon to visit family and some of the big things dotted around the state. On the way we stopped off at Noosa Heads (big pelican) and Maryborough before staying in Hervey Bay (big whales) for a couple of days to break up the journey. Whilst in Hervey Bay we went out on a glass bottomed boat and explored Big Woody Island and Round Island. Onwards again and we visited Childers, Gin Gin and got stuck in a crazy tailback a few kilometers from Miriam Vale (big crab, big donut and big Magpie). It would have been rude not to pick up a cache or two on our journey North. We visited Great Keppel and did some snorkeling (and Jack spotted a large sting ray), Emu Park to view the Singing Ship, Rockhampton (big bulls) to visit the zoo (which I wasn't too keen on) and just about every restaurant and coffee shop in Yeppoon. It's a lovely part of the world. On the way back home (boo) we visited the caves at Cania Gorge and stayed overnight at the retreat and then on to the Three Moons Silo Mural, Gayndah (big orange) and then onto the Bruce and straight back home.Thanks!!#3553
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location. (HaHa). In your dreams, these cachers do. [:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort. Devilish Brilliant and Clever I like it Another one off the list TTBLNSL TFTC/TFTH/TFBUH - Sweet-Sour [^]
During my late-night drive, I stopped here, and walked around the obvious roadside tree, before then going deeper and I made a quick cache find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [Sweet-Sour](https://coord.info/PR5XJWJ) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------This 1.5 week trip, the purpose was the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster (QOGM) in Longreach, with its aim to encourage tourism and support in rural towns. Departing from Brisbane on Friday 15/09/2023, I travelled solo taking the northern route through Gayndah, Emerald and Jericho on my way to the event, and then returned through Blackall, Morven, St George, Goondiwindi, and Toowoomba arriving back on Monday 25/09/2023.My Longreach highlights included the two QOGM muster/rally days visiting Muttaburra and Isisford; the Qantas Founders Museum; Stockmans Hall of Fame; Silver Tails Rail Sunset Tour; and the general historical town vibe. Other highlights to/from Longreach included climbing Mt Scoria; Barcaldine's Tree of Knowledge and kayaking in the water park; Blackall woolshed scour; and the smaller intriguing and historical towns that I passed through.During my travel days when I was time-poor, I targeted geocaches that were older in age, high D-T, puzzles/challenges, and rare cache types. In addition, I added 7-8 visited LGAs to my statistics. The scenery was memorable with picturesque sunsets, and a diversity of flora and fauna. There were plenty of kangaroos and wallabies, emus, goannas/lizards, brolgas, hawks, and alas wild hogs, and goats. This afternoon, I departed Brisbane to reach Gayndah for the night. I was able to make a few stops whilst passing through / visiting Gympie and Kilkivan, and it was quite late once I arrived in the cute and charming town of Gayndah.
On a slow trip out to Longreach for the QOGM 2023 event.

Heading for Gayndah and starting caching at Kilkivan. Don't normally do drive by caching. It is just not my thing. I don't mind if they are well spaced. Many of these were much more difficult than the DT ratings suggested. I suspect placed in the dry years while now it is waist high grass in most places.
Today, it stormed , it showered, and at times, it was flaming hot sun. Sometime at the more time-consuming caches, it was all of that.

Again, so many user friendly places to put this here rather than make us walk through heaps of chest high long grass and prickles but we still want the smilie... interesting to know if you hide for your cache to be found?
took a min to find the correct tree, cache in good condition, thanks again sweet - sour
Got a sore neck looking down for this one. Was no need for any of that nonsense. Intersection has been upgraded, but cache is safely out of the way.
Last one on the way home after checking out Gayndah our oldest town. Found with NutCacheBNE
We take a big stick to chase away those legless creatures - it wasn’t needed today. Thank goodness. TFTC
On my way from Canberra to North Queensland with a few detours for shires. TFTC.
Nice hide. Need to be a bit careful as the rock pile is covered in long grass.

02/07/21 Staying in Free Camp sites with Caravan and seeing the sights and grabbing some caches. I am on holidays from Mackay. Sunny at the moment but rain still hanging around. Returned cache to its location all good. TFTC SL
Our 3rd trip out this way in as many weeks, another 4 days for this run.
Why do country COs place their caches so FAR APART!
After a great night's sleep at Kinbombi Falls free camping we were keen to collect a few more smilies!
Day 2 ... #15 of 20 smilies today.
After our recent spate of super quick finds we decided a bit of a drive to relax & reenergize was in order so we headed north west towards Gayndah.
Nothing like a 1hr/90 km drive to get you going again! [:D[
This was a nice quick find ... once we managed to survive our 'passage of rites' through the army of farmers friends!
Made our mark & replaced as found.

A lot of tall grass has grown around here and what is worse is that a lot of "Farmers Friends" have also sprouted around here, so we decided that for a mere 1.5/15, it was just not enough of a reason to go and find this cache. A difficult cache to rate when the seasons changes the conditions of the approach - currently it is a T of 3.0 or even 3.5!
Nice cache but way too small for regular. Really microscopic. I'd say most of the caches made by this cache creator are, well, smaller than what they're actually labeled. The hint is quite vague. But BLACK COCKATOOS WITH RED TAILS were flying around. The place was fascinating because of them!
So this trip was my third trip to Kilkivan for the new year newbie event.
I always have lots of fun at these events. And long night of chatting to do.
So for the generic post. Because I always find to many caches
Thank you Youngoldfella and Sweet-sour for running these events

Grey nomads, we have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Now we having to coped with Corona Virus ..... and social distancing, we are finally free to hit the road, even tho in this instance it is only for two weeks.
We left Biggenden, bound for Gayndah. Catching a few caches on the way. Bit harder with the caravan in tow.
Lots of rubbish and rocks strewn about at GZ, but no sign of a Sweet-Sour tell tail hide.

Even though we’ve found this one previously, kids wanted to do some swaps so we headed out. Unfortunately we didn’t have success today. Could be due to long grass and huge spiders, because none of us could remember exactly where it was to know if it’s missing or just not our day. Sorry that’s not very helpful!
On our way to QOGM (Blackall) day 19 of our trip. 2 caches for the day and 554 for the trip.TFTC
A quick find while travelling from Mt Perry to Biggenden the long way via Gayndah and Mundubbera. Staying in the Biggenden camping area for a couple of nights.
Hi there Sweet-Sour. Today was a driving day, but a relaxed day was intended with slow driving and not a great distance planned. We had intended to stop in Gayndah but passed through and stopped overnight at the Binjour Range Camp Area. Geocaching along the way was a prime task and a handful of caches were found. This cache was a quick find after parking nearby and the container and the log are dry and quite useable. SL, TN, LN. Thanks to Sweet-Sour for this cache - our find #6763.
Out and about with The Drovers picking up some caches and this was one of them.
Once the log was signed all was returned as found.

I rarely drive this road any more since moving to North Queensland 8 years ago, but on a Christmas road trip to visit rellies. Thanks for the nice easy find. Cache and contents in good condition.
Quick find on my way to Gayndah. I’m visiting from Perth. Thanks for the cache.
This is the last day of a 14 day trip out to Barcaldine for the QOGM Event and on the way back to Brisbane. Found many caches and appreciate all CO's who placed them in their locations. Cache found and log signed. TFTC
Day 15 of our road trip to the QOGM and return and today we head off from Mundubbera for Brisbane via Gympie. Thank you so much to all the COs who have placed caches along the highways and byways that we will travel over in the fourteen days we are away. Without your caches we would not see and/or learn about your local area.

I am traveling a very zigzag route to QOGM in Barcaldine. I have been unwell, so delayed the start of my trip by several days. Yesterday, I arrived in Gympie and spent the night there. Today, I am setting off for Eidsvold. This cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
Been meaning to stop for this one for a while. On our way to Kingaroy to do some chores. Thanks for putting a cache here sweet-sour, it's a nice spot to stop for a wander.
Found with O319 whilst visiting Brisbane, Fraser Island and other QLD locations. TFTC
Tftc and a great spot to break up the drive! Great day caching with the geo family!
It was time to wander along from Maryborough and head west, while picking up a few caches along the way.
After stopping nearby, the distance to the cache was estimated and then it was just a straight walk to the exact hiding place. All was good, our name was noted and all was returned to its proper place. Thanks again sweet - sour for this hide also.

No traffic to worry about so I strolled across and soon found the cache in the long grass.

Don't you love this corner? Really catch you out if you weren't careful.
Found cache quickly. Is in good condition. Left a couple keyring, took nothing. Have a lovely Christmas. tftc

After a long, hot, exhausting trip up Mt Walsh 1MinnieMoo, wombles and myself started the drive to our camp grounds. Of course we took the scenic route to create a few more smileys.
It didn't take long until the beasty was in hand, we left our scribble and replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache Sweet-Sour

On my way out to Wuruma Dam to check out the camping prospects for a couple of days R & R. forget it, chock a block with grey nomads, was hopping that they had all gone home, forgot that they are still having crap weather south of the border.
On the way into Eidsvold for a couple of days R & R.
While out here decided to do a little house keeping. The cache is in remarkable condition, considering I haven't seen it since I placed it on 7th May 2012.
I must say thankyou to all the cachers that have found it and left it in such pristine condition.
Thankyou one and all [^] [^]
