Day 2 of our 4 day anniversary road trip to Maryborough and out West. Lots of adventure to be had with my love SCAHPA. Log signed as CS & SC to save time and room - Trademark skeleton animals sticker left in cache - TFTC, effort time and maintenance
Out caching in the Biggenden area over the long weekend with KabbellaQld and Danielle46 signed as KTD TFTC
We are exploring this area over the long weekend. Fast find here, fortunately as it is preferable that caches are only placed in cemeteries that are no longer in use unlike this one. Signed KTD (KabbellaQld, ToucanKB and Danielle46). Tftc
Nanango to Biggenden camping near the railway stationIt's so nice to be caching in the country side. Some lovely scenery in the area.We went to many locations we have never been to before. Thanks youngoldfella for hiding this cache.
Today, I embarked on a journey to discover the tales of a fading town, nestled within the heart of Queensland. As I reached the coordinates, a serene cemetery unfolded before me, echoing the whispers of stories long forgotten. The gravestones stood as silent sentinels, each telling a unique narrative of lives once vibrant, now eternally resting. Among these sacred grounds, I uncovered the hidden cache, a testament to the town's history. In this cache, I leave a piece of my own story, intertwining with the echoes of the past. May those who follow find solace in the history preserved here and embrace the passage of time as it weaves its intricate tapestry.Take nothing but memories, leave nothing but footprints.
Found cache empty and away from coordinates. Log in amoungst concrete. Put all back and replaced where it belongs. TNLS
On our way to Brisbane on our "just married" your, taking the photo book to family who couldn't make it to the big day.
Decided to take this route which we'd seen many times and never driven.
TFTC!

We have had a great few days in the area finding some new and some old caches and this is one we found. This was an interesting detour off the main road and we parked close to GZ. The cache was soon spotted. Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks Sweet-Sour.
TFTC. We have been in Biggenden for the weekend at Sweet-sour’s New Year Event. A great time. Before leaving to come back home we went out to this cemetery. A quick find
Headed up from Brisbane this morning, I was going to an Event down there but changed my mind. Found cache quickly, log signed and cache replaced as found. Must return to find more caches up this way. TFTC
Came up from the Gold Coast for the Newbys event before heading over to Maryborough for a week and had plenty of time to find a few local caches.
Enjoyed visiting this lovely area and had a tasty lunch at the 'local' before hitting the trails.
Thank you Sweet-Sour for yet another beaut hide, 'Happy New Year' to you

This cache needs some love. The logbook is soaked and full of rubbish. I have placed with some bark over it to protect it a bit.
How cool would it be to have your grave as a geocache. I'm totally writing that into my will. A nice bench seat to sit on, and a cache to find. A bit morbid but would be a good idea.

A quick find in a scratchy spot while the local donkey crew looked on. I’m sure they won’t give the game away. TFTC
Another quiet place on a sunny morning. We found the cache and signed the log. As we were walking back to our vehicle some workmen came along to do some maintenance on the headstones, not sure what they thought we had been doing when they first spotted us, but we exchanged 'Good Mornings' and headed out the gate.
Our 3rd trip out this way in as many weeks, another 4 days for this run.
Why do country COs place their caches so FAR APART!
After a great night's sleep at Kinbombi Falls free camping we were keen to collect a few more smilies!
Day 2 ... #20 of 20 smilies today.
We love the country drives & the history surrounding country towns but it brings a certain sadness with it, seeing the gradual but inevitable decline & decay.
A super quick find here.
Now, as we are fast running out of daylight, it is time to head back to Kinbombi Falls free camping site & a few cold beers before retiring to recharge OUR batteries for another crack tomorrow.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

Is this just the cemetery for the town of Degibo? Or does it include Biggerden? A lot of graves if just for Degibo - no wonder it is no longer to be seen - well at least we couldn't find the town! They are all gone!
Cache found after going past the structure that I thought it would be hidden in - btw - what is that thing? A stencil for a grave?
Thanks Sweet-Sour

While hubby was off hiking I decided to do some sight seeing and maybe a cache. This location definitely put me out of my comfort zone as I am not a fan. But I was brave. Brave until the Bluetooth disconnected and the car suddenly started blaring music. Nope no longer brave but I am here so off to get the cache which was quick thankfully and I was soon back in the safety of the car and on my way again.
Today, Brislions and I were headed to Goomeri, Ban Ban Springs, Gayndah, Biggenden and back to Kilkivan. This cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
So this trip was my third trip to Kilkivan for the new year newbie event.
I always have lots of fun at these events. And long night of chatting to do.
So for the generic post. Because I always find to many caches
Thank you Youngoldfella and Sweet-sour for running these events.
Today we went up to Ban Ban Springs and Gayndah we had 3 mystery targeted for today,

Catching up on logs from our four day caching trip. It’s been a while since we have been out and about. We found a variety of different hide, most of them quick finds . Thanks to all the co,s for hiding the caches for us to find.
Came along to find this cache with ilook4geo. It also was in the obvious spot in a very quiet location. The log book had dried itself out over the last few months so was OK to sign.
After this had been done we were quickly on our way again. Thank you to sweet - sour for this cache placement.

Found this resting spot while out cache hunting with goingplaces2. Found the cache as well and signed log. TFTC.
Not sure how the moisture is getting in, but, could the next finder dry the logbook out in the sun for 5 - 10 minutes, and maybe a new raincoat if needed, please and thankyou
I love cemetery caches. This one needs some rock as the log is so wet it is almost unsignable
Wonder if the neighbours wonder why people visit here? Needs ziplock replacing. We didn't have a big one. Easy to find. TFTC
Found with wombles and 1MinnieMoo on the return journey of our road trip to Bundy.
Thanks for the cache Sweet-Sour
Thanks for the cache Sweet-Sour
1minniemoo,nyssaflutterby,1giantpanda and I had a weekend away planned, we had to change thing a little at the last minute due to the weather. The weather looked good up this way and it was!
Saying goodbye to Bundy now and on to our return journey, though not in the typical Bundy_brissie fashion of course!
Not sure how we missed this one last time we were out here, but today we drove in and found the cache. A nice quick find here.

We were out this way about a year ago, on a trip to Mt Walsh, where we did grab a number of caches along the way. Not sure why we didn't get this last time, as it seemed to be a bit of a lonely blip on the map, but today we decided to rectify it.
Driving up as far as we could, we turned this one into another park and grab on our return journey after a fun weekend.
Thanks for the cache Sweet-Sour.

TFTC travelling to Maryborough after spending a few days at Mingo Crossing with Stopalot. Quick find.
Peaceful spot. First cache in ages though we've been past her many times. Notebook is a bit weathered!
Could the next finder please check out the condition of the container for the possibility of a crack in it. I have a report from the previous finder that the logbook is wet and the bag is useless.
Those Honey Jars are normally very water proof even allowing for a useless raincoat. Maybe some duct tape around the jar if the crack is in the side, or possibly a new container.
Let me know if there is any costs involved.
Thanks inadvance
Cheers Keith Carstens aka Sweet-Sour

Tftc. Staying in Gin Gin. Trip out in the country to push over 3000. Saw some amazing places. Around 300kms achieved.
Log was a little damp but was still able the write on it. Added my rock to the cairn. TFTC
My mum mnance101 and my sister pinkypie05 went to my grandparents farm for Christmas. TFTC!
My mum mnance101 and my brother mazza151 went to my grandparents farm for Christmas. TFTC!
My kids and I came to my parents farm at Binjour for Christmas. On a car trip for the day, my son mazza151, my daughter pinkypie05, my muggle parents and myself stopped to do this cache. The log book was quite damp but we managed to write our names. My kids liked seeing the donkeys in the neighbouring paddock. We looked around at some of the graves while we were here. The neighbours were hooning around the paddock in an old ute. TFTC!
#7815 Cache Found
Got the ole travel itch again this morning. So set off early to discover and find some caches heading North through Gymoie, Biggenden. Gayndah and Einsvold hopefully with some success. But due to a problem with the Geo Truck (Loss of brake lights) Required a quick detour to my local repair shop soon had the problem rectified ans was on my way again. Nice cache thanks for bringing me here
Thanks for the great cache and adventure Sweet-Sour
This Day in Music
1979, The New York Post reported that Anita Pallenberg (the wife of Keith Richards) was linked to a witches coven in South Salem, New York where Richards owned a house. A policeman claimed he was attacked by a flock of black-hooded, caped people and a local youth claimed he had been invited by Pallenburg to take part in ‘pot smoking sex orgies’. Locals also claimed they found ‘ritualistic stakes’ and small animals that had been ‘sacrificed’ near the house.

Found on our way back home after our roadtrip to Cannonvale. This one fills another distance for the Well-Travelled Cacher Challenge. Thanks again Sweet-Sour.
It was a family caching day,
A time we all came out to play.
We had such fun while up this way,
There's so much more that I could say.
The cache was good, the walk ok,
With much to do, we could not stay.

Nice area. Found cache in good order and then had a walk around reading some of the names and dates of the locals. Tftc
Time for a relaxing week off work seeing more of our beautiful state before it gets too hot and a few caches along the way. TNLN TFTC
We always like getting caches in these locations because on wandering around we get an idea of some of the history of the area too. TFTC
We paused a while here a a couple were obviously paying their respects to possibly a dead relative by placing flowers. When they left we entered and drove up to GZ for a quick find. Peaceful. Found at 3.00 pm on 7th June 2015. TFTC.
One of our favourite places to visit and even better when a cache can be found at the same time! Knowing what an Iron Bark looked like helped us to make a quick find. Such a nice peaceful area that is certainly well maintained. GZ gave us a lovely view over it.
TFTC Sweet-Sour and again for bringing us to this lovely place.
TFTC Sweet-Sour and again for bringing us to this lovely place.
Found at 0854. Marg and I had a bit of a debate as to what tree was an Iron Bark then I followed the GPS which had me on the cache. Now I know what an Iron Bark is for sure. TFTC.
Today, we invited Liz and Bruce to join us on a country drive, west of Maryborough.
Although they had been in the area previously, they didn't hesitate to join us.
A good variety of caches, and cache hides were found on our travels
We drove through some beautiful scenic places, and a great day was had by all.
This cache was found quickly, and in good condition. T:N, L: horse, toy motor bike.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Sweet-Sour, for us and others to find.

Nice to be out caching with The Drovers again after they surprised us with a visit to our new abode. This was day two of our three days of caching together. The weather held good, the scenery was wonderful and we enjoyed the serenity, the company and of course finding this cache. Nice one. [^][^] Thanks to Sweet-Sour.

I drove through what was left of the towne and parked the geomobile outside the local hall.
A delightful building in itself
From there I followed the mown trail up and over the hill.
The cemetery appeared at the crest and yes !! It is very well maintained
Near the back gate to the graves I found GZ and poked around in a likely spot for a quick cache find [^]
TFTC and stroll.
