Out caching with KabbellaQld quick easy find Tftc

16-Oct-24
Out for the day with ToucanKB, exploring the area and signing as KATO. We were admiring the caravan park and Paradise Dam views (great breeze here, hope the dam gets returned to its previous height) when we realised there was a cache nearby. Unfortunately, signal issues meant that we had access to limited information and didn't realise until afterwards that the description says the fence is across public land. Feel uneasy crossing any fences as many old roads have been leased by farmers. Our usual practise is to confirm ownership status on land maps before proceeding but we had insufficient signal for this. Tftc

29-Aug-24
We are camped up across the water, so I took a boat across to get the cache. Maybe it could have a needs boat attribute also. TFTC.

10-Mar-24
Got it on a rocky road to nowhere. Entrance to the old road was a bit hard to find. TFTC

25-Sep-23
Completing these for a challenge. Lots of nice camping areas around these parts. Going to be living and working in this area for the next 6 months. Nice rivers too.

22-May-23
A weekend trip up to Gladstone and Calliope saw me having some quiet time on an 800-acre property. We got in some 4wd, some walking on some extreme hill climbs, campfire at night and then a few caches as well. It can be hard work trying to convince some people how much fun you have doing this activity, especially if they are not fully open and listening, lol.

On our way home and a few target caches to collect along the way, including a first to find. The stay out signs is not meant to be for cachers, right? They are there for the people who do naughty things I am guessing. Found it with ease.
I signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for the hide and bringing me to this area.

11-Jan-23

Ignored the signs and drove right up to GZ. Quick find.

16-Jan-22
We saw this cache with 15 months unlove so we set off on a quest to find it. It appear there has been some recent changes around the GZ, with the addition of a padlocked gate and bared wire fence preventing access to the GZ. We jumped the fence and found the cache.

Thanks Sweet-Sour for the cache.
Found at 4:32 pm on 15/1/22.

09-Sep-18
1minniemoo,nyssaflutterby,1giantpanda and I had a weekend away planned, we had to change thing a little at the last minute due to the weather. The weather looked good up this way and it was!
Saying goodbye to Bundy now and on to our return journey, though not in the typical Bundy_brissie fashion of course!

We made this one "snakier" then needed as we approached from the north. We made it safely through though and easily located the cache. Interesting road here.

9/9/18 1:31 pm Find #2093
Pulling up at this one we realised we still needed to go about 100m "in there" - serious snake territory, and not too far after we had seen a Red Bellied Black on the road. That didn't look appealing, so we debated for a little while before NyssaFlutterby said "stuff it!" and exited the car on a mad march through the long grass. Wombles&Co followed and I parked the car a little better before joining them.
Well of course after bushbashing 50m we find a damn "road", don't we, with the cache just on the other side of it. Needless to say we walked back out via what there was of a road, back to the car snake-free.
Thanks for the cache Sweet-Sour.

My kids and I came to my parents farm at Binjour for Christmas. On a car trip for the day, my son mazza151, my daughter pinkypie05, my muggle parents and myself stopped to do this cache. Wow Mingo Crossing has changed since I was out here over 25 years ago! It was just a grassed area back then. Now it is a caravan park! Great to see. The road out here is a lot better than I remember. TFTC and for bringing us out here!

Big Grin Thankyou Gypsy jj for finding Mingo Crossing, I was very concerned about it, hearing stories about the amount of water that had gone through. At least it's safe, although wet.

Would the next finder please dry out the log or replace it, while having a cuppa. It is going to be many months before I can see myself up that way again. Thanks in advance.

18-Apr-13
found it I did!!!
I found my way to it without having to brave too much long grass where those slithery critters hide Smile
and looking around me, so did not expect to find a cache that I didn't take any replacement logs. So much has gone, all from the camp ground except the 2 hardword bbq shelters, hard to imagine. So many trees knocked over by the water too.
the cache is there, I drained it and managed to sign the very soggy log, but it really needs replacing.
thank you sweet-sour the cache.

You can see why this road is nolonger in use, now the dam is full it could be used as a boat ramp. We added our rocks to the pile, to continue with tradition, before heading on our way.

01-Jul-12
Like many geocache finds, we discovered the right way in after finding the cache. A great looking camp and picnic ground on the other side of the river. Added some rocks to the cairn. I took the TB's to continue their journeys. TFTC sweet-sour

24-Apr-12
FTF at 0945. Had my day all ready set and up came this little number 7 new caches by my friends sweet - sour and my plan was changed.

Still got back to my original plan at 1400 and finished it. Heading home from Bundy in the morning after checking on a couple of mine up this way with recent sad faces.

I crossed the river and was looking for the entry to the old road and quickly found it. Grass is high near the main road but easy to drive over. Quick find. Left trackables. Good view of the river from here.
