Logs
Didn't realise that this cache was out of use untill I arrived home and logged it.
There were muggles all over GZ so did not attempt to look for the cache. It is a holiday weekend so I suppose the number of muggles was to be expected.

We must have had the blinkers on today . After reading back on the logs we perhaps shouldn't have been so reliant on the co-ords. Lovely walk anyway.
Stayed The Night At Kaitokie For Christmas Day, Decided In The Morning I'd Find Some Geocaches And Found This One There Was No Camo Bag On This Cache That I Found Presuming Its This Cache...
Anyway TFTC!

Sunday caching. Beautiful spring day, no wind. Kaitoke - Pakuratahi. Hard to imagine it could get better than this.
Number 4 on our loop around the swing bridge track. The information board was very interesting and we took some time to check out the engineering. We were then at GZ in no time and made a straightforward, easy find. Cache in order, log signed; all then safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too

Completed this circuit after attending a local geo-picnic with Princess-Emily and tmann421. These walks are my favourite. Cache located quickly. TFTC
Teamed up with Just-Lookin and tmann421 for a fun day of caching with a picnic in the middle. TFTC
Another quick find and the reason for visiting - this cache had a hide date I required for the 366 day challenge. TFTC !
Caching Kaitoke with CarolinaZoe plus the three littlejardisliketardises today. Decided to tackle the round trip clockwise, so this was the next cache after the Lost Treasure of Rivendell. Initially approached cache from the wrong side, but once we changed tack the clue made sense. We were muggled by four women out for a walk, one of whom was very excited when I explained what we were doing. She wanted to find the next cache, but her companions said no, as they were heading the opposite way. TFTC
NZlamb braved the dog poo on the step and retrieved the cache. Left a little froggie in the box.

Found on a wander around this lovely forest. Many thanks to the Wellington Regional Council for their custodionship and for the person who placed the cache.
Wondered what a strainer house did, now I know. The Oregon was much more co-operative here and it didn't take long to track down the cache. Then took the access road back to the car to complete this very pleasant loop.

#6000! We'd had a productive (and sometimes challenging) few hours of caching in the Kaitoke Regional Park, and getting to cache 6000 was a bonus. First time we'd done this loop, which proved to be an enjoyable walk. TFTC.
A nice quick find, put my hand straight on the cache this time without any searching around first and GZ seemed pretty much spot on here. TFTC
A quick find on a fine but chilly afternoon. Walked back along the road to the car park to complete a circuit of the swingbridge track. TNLN SL TFTC
We found this cache on our visit to Rivendell.
We extended the tour a bit by a hike on the swingbridge trail. Thanks for the hide!

Nice easy find on a visit to the park, and showing a visiter from Holland how geocaching works. TFTC
Nearly walked past this as we were distracted, having just been at the aqueduct. But no strain here tftc
My family had already found this so we went in for the search. Quick sign and return
Nice spot for caching, well done on the hide. Was out with patnz who found this one. TFTC
2nd find in this locality. Hordes of muggles doing the loop walk but thankfully these was sufficient lag for us to go and snaffle this cleverly constructed cache. The information board outside the house also contains a string of interesting information. Nice work J'N'K.
A quick find and the cache description very interesting. Thanks also to whoever left the little doll in the cache. It was of great comfort to Miss Orsome4some who was bitten by some sort of insect moments before we made the find. TFTC
Found this Cache on our Trip to New Zealand.
Thank you for the cache.

#3317. Nice day for a circuit walk. Interesting looking into the strainer house. Water was leaking from the nearby pipework though.

Loving these caches, loving the amount of information you've put them - history in a cache, yay.
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
Having completed the LOTR caches nearby we decided as we were already wet we would complete the Swingbridge loop.
Quick easy find, TFTC, found with 2kiwis.com

Phasevisitor came down to visit for a long weekend so we decided to do a LOTR themed caching tour around Wellington with them. We decided to walk the loop track in the pouring rain to get an atmospheric photo up the valley.

Did the Loop track first then this one. Took the geomumbles (1 Lab and 1 Daschundt) along for this one.. Mycro Man walked some of the way, sat on the Crystals neck some of the way and in the backpack some of the way.. Showed Mycro Man inside the Strainer house. Still wonder why so much water leaks nearby. Cache was in good condition. TFTC
Its always a bit of a worry to see that water spurting out of the cracks in the pipes! Obviously not a big worry or something would have been done about it. Nicely hidden and co-ords spot on. TFTC
Was looking at doing these caches when I was here doing the FTF on GC3PFKP but as it was so wet I decided that I would leave these caches until another time. Managed to drop by and grab these two caches today, actually I was quite surprise that these caches really didn't take me too long to walk to and back to the car. Arriving at the first cache within about 10 minutes walk from the carpark and looking at the hint and managed to find the cache in the first spot that I looked.
I think that I have being pass this spot before as I remembered that there use to be another cache that was nearby before, but as I see that cache seems to have being archived and two new caches have popped up to replace it so that is always a bonus.
Thanks for placing a cache here and for bringing me back to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (4478)

Cache #598 - #4 on the day with Downunder Wanderer. An interesting place, and a great spot for a hide. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Find #1250. After a short walk up to Tussock Knob through some lovely forest - we still had time to do a few extraneous short walks within Kaitoke Regional Park so we chose to loop back to the car via the Swingbridge Track – an easy find (after we first sat down and let a group of walkers move past and out of visibility), and a well-placed cache. Good history here and more interesting information about Wellington’s water supply. SL TFTC.

A good location for the cache and good to be encouraged to do the walk again. SL Left TB TFTC
I have been to this location a few times now but its always a great place to visit. As I have come to expect, the J 'N' K team have chosen a very good hiding place and made good use of containers.
Walked along the swing bridge track to cache but could have stuck to the road.Quick find.Thanks.
After a frustrating search and DNF on another cache back down the road, it was good to find a nicely designed and hidden cache with excellent accurate coordinates. If I remember correctly, this building used to be a chlorination plant a few decades ago, I have memories of the whiff of chlorine in the air around it. None of that any more now. Cache was quickly found - signed log, TFTC!
When I walked past here with Scouts a couple of months ago I climbed onto where the cache would have been if it had existed. I could have found it!!! (if it was there) TFTC
Joint 2TF with Redants as we made our way around the loop in light rain. I haven't been here for over 20 years, good to come back. The loop took less than 40 minutes to complete, don't be put off by the 1 hour time estimate. SL TFTC.
