Apples, almonds, grapes, at the right time of the year, you wouldnt go hungry Today I left home reasonably early, with my bike on the ute, to meet up with Chezle and OZGrumpy in Riverton. We left my ute in Riverton, threw my bike on Chezles chariot and headed to Clare.A big day on our bikes riding both The Riesling Trail and The Rattler Trail to find caches while enjoying some country fresh air, a bit of sunshine, get some exercise and find a couple of DNFs of mine from a previous visit. All up a fun day, even if Im going to be a bit saddle sore tomorrow TFTC Frozen FeetKeep smiling
Thanks Frozen Feet for placing this cache and for the ongoing maintenance. Find #10681 on 2/11/2024 at 11:39AMA plan was hatched to ride along the Riesling Trail and collect a few caches. A delightful day in the company of Cheezel and Jolly riding along and signing logs. This is a special place, very enjoyable. We also collected some others that were nearby or along the way.
I dont recall exactly but it must be about 4 months ago at an event when OZGrumpy, Jlly and I had a chat about riding the Reisling and Rattler Trails for caches.Today is the day and as the weather gods would have it, its going to be a 35deg day Cache quickly found and log stamped TFTC
Another walk along part of the Riesling Trail this morning grabbing any caches as we passed by.Many thanks for the hide Frozen Feet
I was in Clare for a few days primarily to finally complete the Riesling Trail. I'd done some by walking but this trip was to clean it up.Who knew it was that hilly on the trail (I do now). Took me about 5 hours on a hot day before I gave up and went back to the caravan park for a rest.I finished what I set out to do later in the afternoon with a bit of walking. TFTC
I was very glad for the cover of the (bare) tree here - a very crazy swooping magpie here! I was also very glad I had a helmet on otherwise I would have had a hole in my head!
We are off on a trip to the Birdsville Races and then across to Queensland - the plan is for about 6 weeks of travel - all going well.
Week 1 we have travelled from Portland to Farrell's Flat near Clare.
Today the weather was a little better so we took the bikes to Auburn and rode to Penwortham for a very nice lunch and then back to Auburn - about 30km all up.
We really enjoyed most of this series of caches - not too close together and generally in easy to get to spots from the bike tracks. Only 1 DNF for the day
Thanks for contributing to our holiday Frozen Feet

Parked vehicle and trailer at Sevenhill Oval. Made my way to Auburn on the mobility scooter and grabbed many caches along the way, as well as taking in the interesting views. TFTC
Staying close by and out for an evening walk. I do like these old rails to trails. The container was a few feet from host and had been nibbled by somthing but still serviceable. Replaced as per hint.
A return visit to Clare was planned for the long weekend with the JAMS crew plus tallbikestan to find a lot of the caches that we didn't get to on our last visit along with the Rattler, Riesling and NE trails as well as the Mid North Channel Country trail. [^]
We had three very full days with perfect weather for caching, lots of bike riding, lots of walking and lots of driving along dirt tracks. We were lucky it had not recently been wet as some of the roads we drove on would not have been passable if wet. Loved the scenery at this time of year with everything looking very green as well as the bright yellow of the canola crops.
A fun weekend of caching, lots of caches found and lots of cool places visited.
Thanks for the cache Frozen Feet.

A big long weekend with the JAMS Crew (JJ52, allister w(me), mogni, Sir Spectre and tallbikestan). We road from Riverton to Stanley Flat on day 1. Then more riding near Spalding on day 2. Then finished the weekend with finding caches around the area in the car. TFTC
glad we had electric bikes for this trail.
The JAMS team ( JJ52,Allister w, Mogni, and sir_spectre minus mitchell&hound ) but Tallbikestan was with us instead and we where out for there usually monthly caching adventure. This time it was over the october long weekend instead of the usual day trip. The taget this time was Drop into the Light a long ladder cache on the way to clare and then to clear the Rattler trail, Riesling Trail, Ne Trail saturday on the bikes and then sunday do the Mid North Channel Country bike trail. Monday on the return home was to get Peter's view a 2001 cache. Of course there was many, many other's found on route to the various target for the weekend, somewhere around 260 found by the team. It could have been more but we were not going at a flat out pace, just steady and getting a blow out on the bike 1.6 km's from the end of the Mid North Channel Country bike trail didn't help. I didn't see any snakes this trip but allister did, he saw 5. The caches this trip where written in as JAMS, i forgot the stamps. Also 1 cache was placed by the JAMS team this trip. Out of all the bike tracks i preferred the Rattler /Riesling trail. I like riding through the very rich ( after all the recent rains ) fields of yellow flowers.

The JAMS crew went on an October long weekend adventure back to Clare. We brought Tallbikestan along as we were targetting the bike tracks and he is the best rider amongst us. Allister W and sir_spectre we the other main riders, with JJ52 and I the support crew and walkers. A huge weekend of fun and adventure was had by all, until I made SS sick with my cold....oops.
Thanks to all those who have kept not just the bike tracks but all the other caches alive for us to find.
All caches signed as JAMS.

Cache #11585
Headed north today on a bit of a pre maintenance run, dropped into the Clare Catching Carnival Flash mob to catch up with friends, present and future. But the main aim of the day was some cardio exercise on the bike, finding caches of course. Managed to rectify 4 DNFs on the Rattler and N E Trails and to finish off the Riesling Trail. Put 32K on the bike and walked another 4.2K. So all in all a very successful and satisfying day out.
Had to DNF this one the last time I was here but this time it didn't take too much rustling before the replacement was found.
Thanks to Frozen Feet for putting out this cache for us to find.

Had a very quick (and quiet) look but there sounded like a group of muggles at the house nearby so we decided to leave this for another day.
A little bit buried in mulch, but found it quickly intact and dry inside! Apples... yes a cider would be nice right now too
A lovely day for a cache or two... who am I kidding, every day is a good day for a cache!
And to top it off some excellent walking company in Mrs Froghoppin to show me the local sights.
Always enjoy a riesling, and today was no exception! Almost all the caches were where we expected them. One was hiding just a bit too well... but I'll be back for that one
Sunshine, flowers, bugs and birdlife all distracted us on our walk - and of course we found a nice cemetery to investigate along the way too. Didn't blink... yet
Thanks for putting these out there Frozen Feet

All the Geocaches are located and logged using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck!
---
Please do stay safe when caching.
Lookout for mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins... but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]
Make sure Travel Bugs are the only bugs you share and pass on
We really appreciate all those placing quality caches out and about especially away from the city crowds,
it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting

Perhaps when there is a chance, it may be worth checking up on this one. The cache may still be there, but just moved and under all that leaf litter that has accumulated around that tree, thanks.
Don't think this tree has ever been pruned, managed to fight my way in to the hint and have a good look/feel around butt no cache was found. Considering previous logs have a feeling that this one is MIA.
Thanks for the hunt Frozen Feet

This weekend, jesswrigley and I headed to the Clare Valley for a bit of wine tasting and cycling the Riesling Trail. We were treated to great sunny weather, and nice to have been visiting the wine region.
Today, jesswrigley and I started the day by heading north around Clare to visit a few miscellaneous locations and old churches. We then made our way to Polish Hill River, and then on to Mintaro where we participated in the famous maze. After visiting *Taylors Wines* for a wine and chocolate tasting, we had a final session cycling along the Riesling Trail north from Watervale. We then made the return home, briefly stopping at Tarlee, Stockport, and Hamley Bridge.
No luck at this location. We had a decent search all around the tree and even inside, having my legs stick out to the path much to the confusion of passing cyclists, but alas no cache found. It could still be here somewhere, but I certainly checked and searched all the low difficulty places. Thanks anyway Frozen Feet for the cache placement.

Wish it was apple season as can see lots of small fruit on the tree Biking with Juju54 TFTC
Out for a short walk today after a couple of days hitting the power trails. Far more pleasant and relaxing without the go go go of the last few days.
Our first time on the Riesling trail and very impressed with what we have seen.
Saw this cache was out of action but had a look anyway. After a look in a couple of places and a dig around the cache was located (probably buried a bit too deep) and found to be in excellent condition. Re-hid with less camo so should now be all good.
Will contact cache owner with update.

Mrs iluvtrekking and I dropped our geo-men off in Riverton to undertake the 44 klm cycle ride back to Clare. They spent 9 hours to complete the trail with a couple of dnf's along the way but marvelled at the scenery and had an awesome day. Thanks Frozen Feet
After dropping the GeoHubbies off in Richmond they peddled off into the morning mist. 9 hours and 40ks later they emerged in Clare sore but triumphant. Thanks to all concerned in placing this epic series of caches.
Found this cache on 19/3 having a fun biking/wine tasting day with team crumble. Seems like my online post disappeared. Logged to complete
Finding caches along the way has been an incentive to pedal along ....a big effort for poor ole me....last rode a bike some 9 years ago. Tftc
Spent the weekend staying at Leasingham with fellow cachers Meg_Norti2 and Baking Tray Pancakes. Rode from Leasingham to Clare and back. Some caches were found, along with some wineries, bakeries and sore butts! We all had fun though and will no doubt be back to find the rest. No apples today, just a lot of prickly twigs to get stuck in our bike helmets!
Another great find while in the area on holiday.
Thanks for setting up this cache Frozen Feet.

An amazing weekend of laughs, smart aleck comments, wine, food and fun shared with a fantastic group of people!
Over the whole weekend of pushibke riding, caching and travelling I managed to attend 3 great events , find 128 caches and surprisingly even scored a FTF as my last cache of the weekend at almost 8pm on my way home Thanks for leaving 1, Freddo
Today as part of the group BCBB, I rode the Riesling Trail and picked up the caches which I hadn't already made it to [^]
Definitely need to get 'saddle fit' as that seat sure isn't as comfy as my motorbike seat!
This is as good as it gets! Sharing the fun, and pain, with like minded people
Riding this trail has been a goal of mine since I started caching and this weekend, that goal was achieved...and made better by wonderful breakfasts to start each day and a great tea Saturday night after the biggest pushbike ride I have undertaken in about 30 years

In Clare for the weekend and the BBBCBB (The extra B is for brilliant... What's the other extra B for? That's a typo). Three events, well over 60 caches, and quite a few milestones (congrats to the squirrel and a pair of cats) ensured it was a great weekend, if not a little exhausting! There was wine and cheese, D/T gap puzzle solving, much falling on the air pillow during rain and hot chocolate at the end of the ride courtesy of Mrs Scoobster! Has hot chocolate ever tasted so good? I think not!
This was find number 16 of 49 for the night for me. TFTC Frozen Feet!

I found this cache as part of a large group of cachers who descended on Clare for the Big Clare Bike Bash (BCBB).
I have done many of the RT caches before, generally on foot, walking short distances of the trail.
This is the first time I have ridden for 5 years and so was also the first time I had ridden a bike in South Australia.
Thanks for your cache.

In Clare for the weekend to do the Bike assault on the RT and Rattler series. We had a great day today , lots of fun with a great bunch of people, although a little sore after our 25 odd Km bike ride. The weather was kind to us, and although cold, the rain held off long enough for us to complete the series. Apologies for the generic logs, but we appreciate the time and effort that the CO has gone to, to place this series. Log was signed collectively as BCBB as requested by the CO.. TFTS
Today was a awesome day with a bike ride organised to tackle this trail today and the Rattler trail tomorrow, as we have done the rattler we only stayed one day and cleaned up all the unfounds, we have found bits and pieces of this trail so now its nice to have the whole trail of our to do list, although we were suppose to ride as one group we ended up being 2 groups as someone yelled out (that would be me lol) does anyone need their air pressure checked as i had a air compressor onboard and soon had quite a few bikes that needed air, it was a good move as some bikes didn't even register any air, that would have made for a bumpy ride, eventually we set off and to play fair we stopped at every cache and touched that cache checking the logbook was signed etc so we never really caught up to the first group, mother nature looked like she was going to wet us at one stage but held off till later on and made up for it with some really heavy down pours, it was a very enjoyable day with great company and a nice easy bike ride, this was a very enjoyable trail to do : ) TFTC

I am doing the Riesling Trail series with my little bike.. . I must say I bought a folding bike but I could not fit it in my small boot. Then the neighbour was giving away a little bike and I grabbed it. I had to paint it silver because it was pink with purple. Lol. Found it nice and easy.

Came down from Vic last weekend and found this cache on a great weekend riding in Adelaide's beautiful weather with my dad. Stayed in Clare and rode to Auburn and back on Saturday then Barinia and back on Sunday before going back to Melbourne.

Teamed up with Sorceysal this week to do a raid on this cache rich state, and left with over 1000 finds in 8 days, including travelling over and back to bacchus marsh in Vic. Today we travelled from Wallaroo to Auburn, left the caravan there, and did the rattler series before heading to Clare to start this series.
We was really impressed with the variety of hides, concise coords, and the beautiful scenery around here.
Thanks so much to Frozen Feet for the chance to enjoy this great ride with the bonus of these multiple caches along the way.

Another epic day of caching with the bogonghazy's. Picked up over 1000 caches in 8 days in the cache rich state. A variety of hides, good co-ords and great scenery added to the enjoyment of our road trip. This was a bonus series for us as we didn't think we would have time but managed to complete a few along the way Thanks for all your efforts Frozen Feet in placing this variety of caches for us to find.
Lotsa apples on the ground but alas none to eat today. Saw a few of these trees along the way. TFTC. Cheers
#1969 - Bit of a hunt in the new foliage. But found by B. All part of the fun and challenges on our AroundOz bicycle tour. Many thanks to Frozen Feet for establishing and maintaining this cache. The last remaining apples are very yummy.
A quick find when we got to GZ. We did some of the caches on this trail when we were in town three years ago and doing some more today to fill in some gaps. TFTC
There were certainly a lot of apples hear today. We grabbed a couple but found the apples from the tree just back a bit under the bridge had much larger apples. I think the last time we rode along the path it was plum season and munched on them along the ride.

Touring Australia having left Perth in late February we are leisurely touring South Australia.
Camped at Auburn this was supposed to be a nice easy ride to Clare on our Electric bikes and return. But Not...... After 1km Mrs Felix bike had a flat tyre. So after returning to get the car, then returning to the bike shop in Auburn for a tube and then the tube being replaced 1/2 the day was over. In fact it was lunch time so of course a little stop at the pub for lunch before deciding what to do.
After a delightful lunch on the deck watching the world go by we set off yet again on the bikes to see how many caches we might find.
The afternoon turned out delightful and we completed halfway before turning back, but boy very chilly on the return 13km ride straight home. Our hands were blue before returning to the fireplace.
But aside from the chill factor this has to be one of our favourite ever trails. This is what geocaching is about to us. Awesome and we thank you so much for sharing this trail with us.

But aside from the chill factor this has to be one of our favourite ever trails. This is what geocaching is about to us. Awesome and we thank you so much for sharing this trail with us.

Glorious weather made this caching excursion in the Clare Valley most pleasant. Nice one, enjoyed finding this cache. Thanks to Team Wibble.
After completing our 2nd trip around Australia, we are now going up through the center.
Currently camped at Auburn, to cache around the area.
Got the bike out, to complete this series, which we started last year.
Enjoyed the ride, with a good variety of hides.
Most caches were found quickly, and in good condition.
Many thanks for the hunt today, Team Wibble.

Quick find along the lovely trail. Managed to pick a few apples up further to make fried apples for dessert, but the tree at this cache were bare! TFTC.
A quick find, unfortunately no apples on the tree but were able to find some further down, yum TFTC
