We enjoyed walking this short snippet of the Heyson Trail. It was made more enjoyable by finding a few caches. TFTC
The perfect time to combine two hobbies, or looking at it in a different way... how to make a hike nearly twice as long The weather was windy (as usual I'm guessing) but otherwise quite nice, the company was good and by the end the legs were worn outTFTC trail mogni
The Christmas and New Years break is a special time for me to relax and collect some caches in remote locations. When KTPops and I were discussing this rare opportunity to spend time together and combine hiking trails and caching, the series of caches along the Heysen trail west of Encounter Bay were an ideal choice. Camping in the nearby campground we made use of the opportunity to complete some rarely available goals. Thanks for the cache mogni. Find #9176 at 12.26pm
Thanks! I saw this while hiking Wild South Coast Way and came home to download the app and check it out
Found during an enjoyable four-hour walk along the Heysen Trail from Kings Beach Road carpark west of the Bluff to Dennis Hut in Newland Head CP. Eight or so kilometers as the crow flies but probably 15 kilometeres on foot. Incredible coastal scenery and lots of birdlife in the conservation areas, much appreciated. Thanks for the cache mogni!
Made great use of the public holiday. A lovely getaway with gridge98 for a few days, camping in Deep Creek. TFTC!
A lovely walk was had today along the heysen trail, with one car either end only 13km was required from us today over 3.5 hours, a lovely walk with only requiring 1 cache to be replaced and the rest found. Beautiful view too.
Today Courtneyrose_ and I headed to Victor harbour for the CITO and to complete some of the heysen trail with Michells&Hound. A lovely day with many steps taken.
Thanks for cache

I was walking along the Heysen today and having a great time! 26°, sunny with a cool breeze! Who could ask for more? A quick find but the cache is wet and the log book waterlogged. I couldn't sign the log but here's a photo instead.
Logbook wet but still signable. Quick find

Found out caching with Wollaston. Today was to be our relaxing e-cycling adventure along the coast. We loaded up with food, drink and spares for maintenance and were ready for a big day. Unfazed by the first set of steps we cycled along, dodged stony outcrops and bushes, walked the bikes through beach sand, thinking surely the path would flatten and smooth out soon? Nup, carried them up and down more steps, stopped to answer questions to calculate ends, scrambled up and down dale to seek out caches, walked and pushed the bikes up steep hills, faced a howling wind spraying us with sea salt, relieved when there was a flat section and actually got to pedal some of our way along the track. All was going ok, until we reached a stile and an unwelcome sign - no bicycles which meant our trek was cut short and we had to reverse our ‘adventure’ if only this sign was at the beginning
On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC mogni

Having a boys weekend with my son down at Victor Harbour. First order of business was to go for a walk up to the bluff and then over to the Heysen Trail.
Absolutely stunning up here. I’ve been to Victor Harbour dozens of times before Geocaching but never ventured out this way. Really worth it for the views.
Sadly we didn’t get as far as I had planned Becky son was getting tired. Next time hopefully can go a bit further.
Quick find this morning.

Found while walking this part of the Heysen trail. Amazing views on a windy and rainy day. Great string of caches.
Decided to venture out the house today and walk from Waitpinga back to Kings Beach and find all my caches I hid many years ago. Prepared shockingly for this and had to use my phone as a GPS and since being a basic member again using the app was very difficult but managed to find most caches along the way. Thanks for looking after all these caches!

Returned after 7 years since I was here last (with the cache being awol). A windy drizzly day. Thanks for the cache.
We wanted to do a geocaching walk and decided on this part of the Heysen Trail.
It was a great day, sun out, no wind, stunning views and gorgeous wildflowers.
There were a surprising number of people who had the same idea, so a bit of stealth was required.
Thanks spuddymoore and mogni.

Found while doing some running training along the coast whilst visiting victor. Tftc
I was lagging behind. Spotted the location on approach, but geo partner had already found, signed and replaced. Thanx
out for the day with the co and allister w for a maintenance run for this series. We walked the trail in reverse.
Great day with perfect weather. I joined Sir Spectre and mogni to walk The Heysen series and perform maintenance on all the caches along the way. We meet at the #1 end then drove around to start our walk at #22. A very nice walk with less up and down than I was expecting. Great views along the way with good company made this a very enjoyable walk. Thanks mogni for your efforts in adopting and maintaining this series.
Walking the Heysen with Pony1966 on an unseasonally warm April day... into the park! TFTC
There was only one place this one could be and there it was nice find here TFTC
So this was a walk along another section of the Heysen. A very cloudy day around 28 degrees or so. You could say a somewhat perfect day - perhaps a few degrees cooler and it would have been perfect. I walked up a small sweat which was evaporated by the light breeze. Coastal views spectacular. [^]
Thanks to spuddymoore and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!
As we continued on we found this one a lil worse for wear, so replaced the tin (really should be something better) with another tin.

Cache is in desperate need of attention - we didn't sign the log as the entire cache is waterlogged and full of rusty water.
Found with Jillaroo.

#11639. Day 6 of our SA holiday. Our first full day in Victor Harbor. What to do today? Relax for a few hours this morning, have lunch and then hit the Heysen Trail for a short walk and a few other caches around town.
This poor little cache needs maintenance. The Eclipse tin is rusted, the lid has fallen off, one lot of logs were glued together and rock hard, the other lot were wet. Removed all those logs and left a new Rite-in-the-Rain Log Sheet with our names on it. Size of container also needs to be amended - this is a micro.
Thanks spuddymoore

Day Six of our holiday, BettyBoo3747 and I spent half the day cleaning up the mess we had made so far and restocking the larder. After lunch we had a short walk along the start of the Heysen trail.
No bikes? Can't understand that, I thought everyone would want to ride a fast moving bike along a very narrow dirt path right next to a huge cliff!
I thought the whole of the Heysen Trail was for walkers only?
A quick find of a fairly manky cache. BB replaced the log, but we didn't have a spare container with us.
Thanks, Robmc.

Another cache along this spectacular coastline in a perfect day. Thanks for the smiles
Saw this one coming on my Garmin, so fossicked around in the obvious spot and found it. Container was soaked and logbook was damp. I did what I could but was on holiday, so did not have my full caching gear with me.
TNLN. TFTC.
Found this one while out walking with a mate. A really amazing trail across the cliffs. Found the cache no problems but the log book is soaking wet. The zip-loc bag has tears in it so it is no longer water tight. Barely managed to sign the log. Log and bag will need replacing. TFTC
Day 3 of a 3 day walk from Tapanappa to Rosetta head. Nice to collect a few smileys along this stretch but it's tough bending over with packs on! Thanks spuddymoore
Found at 7:06:00 AM with Uni, Semik, Liz and Bruce and Moneydork on an early morning hike on a rather warm morning.
While staying at Adare Caravan Park we planned to do the series of geocaches along the Heysen Trail going from King Beach to Waitpinga through the Newland Head Conservation Park. We were fortunate enough that a few fellow geocachers were willing to complete the walk with us even though the forecasted temperature was 41 degrees. So with that in mind, we had a round table meeting at the pub after dinner and decided that we needed to get up at 5am to be at the start of the track at 6am. So in the predawn light we started our hike. Finding the caches along the way gave us the chance to have a break and reform as a group. The heavy cloud cover and cool breeze were welcome and contributed to keeping the heat to a manageable level. The views were distractingly wonderful and the 5 hours it took us was an absolute delight with our happy group which comprised of Shonkylogic, Moneydork, SEMIK, Uni and Medusa. This is geocaching at its best. Thanks to spuddymoore for placing this cache which encouraged us to do this tremendous walk.
Out for a stroll along the Heysen Trail with Freddo, 3 LG and Earthlight1
A pleasant day and pleasant company made for a nice morning.
Saw a few kangaroos along the way alonmg with some great scenery.

Today we head of for a 13 k walk with Freddo, earthlight and Team Waldron, lots of great views along here and we even managed to free a Sleepy lizard that was trapped in the fence, it would have died either from exhaustion or overheating, we saw a couple of roos along the walk and it was a great day out. Headed out along the trail with Freddo, Team Waldron and 3LG.
A great walk for all of us to enjoy the views and locate caches along the way.
Last one in this series today.

A good day out caching with Cows With Guns along part of the Heysen Trail. A magnificent walk.
Thanks for bringing us to such a lovely area.

Out for the day with the geo kids from school and our adult helpers. Great day for the 12 km walk along the Heysen. We had a brilliant day with superb scenery and plenty of geos to find. Thanks for these geos and for making our day so enjoyable. We signed as “Pem Kids” on most geos. We consisted of braveheart17, pomoore83, AB123, chatterbox3, bananabros, greedy parrot, wattsUp13, lozanger, esromL plus a few more, 12 in all.
Traveled to Victor Harbor today with a group of fellow students and teachers from school. Luckily the rain held out this morning (just) and it was a great day out. Managed to find 27 caches in total walking along the Heysen Trail, including a First to Find! Group entry in log book as “Pem Kids”. Great views all along the way too. Thanks for the cache!
Malco! and T_M walked the 17km section of Heysen Trail from Waitpinga to VH. The whole trail is approx. 1200 kms long so we've only covered 1.7% today. Beaches to rocky cliff-lines and back to beaches and houses.

Walked this one with Tiger Muffin. Left Waitpinga at around 10:30 and finished at 3:30. With 32 caches to find along the way adds an hour or two to the walk and only one DNF. Great weather and the views spectacular. Surf was fierce with 3 metre waves pounding the rocks at the base of the cliffs.
22 less 20 plus 1 equals three left.
Thanks for the cache, spuddymoore.

Another Heysen trail cache. Truly awesome walk, which I may have missed if it weren't for geocaching. TFTC.
Over the stile and the cache was soon in hand. The cliffs ahead are really quite imposing. Thanks for taking me along this section of the Heysen trail spuddymore.
A quick and easy find on a beautiful stretch of coastline. Love the Heysen trail.

After climbing over the stile we found the plastic bag that is the cache. Should have read the logs beforehand and taken a replacement with us. Signed the piece of paper.

Found it but no log book. left some paper for others to record their find. needs a proper log book and pencil/pen. TFTC
Unfortunately for us, it was quite a windy/drizzley miserable day but that didn't stop our geocaching adventure. We set off after the rain cleared and found 11 treasures, with 2 non-finds. The Heysen Trail was certainly something that we'll never forget, and our feet won't either!
If a plastic bag is a cache, then I'm a monkey: turns out I'm a monkey :3 TFTC!

Well, we found the piece of paper in the plastic bag left by Freddo; Does that qualify as a find?

No success on this one but felt the options were very clear and wondered if the muggles have got this one!
Arrrgghh. No sign of the little critter but those flies. Thanks spuddymoore.
found it : BUT it's wet ( not a water proof container ) and unloggerble but an easy find .
No 5 with Irac & co today. Had to leave the wife at the fence whilst the rest of us went ahead for the last one......TFTC
This seemed to be a beautifully sheltered spot along the walk and a naturally beautiful place to stop and enjoy the view. And we did. Timber06 and Irac wondered what the objects down on the beach below were but we didn't take what would have been a very slippery climb down to investigate. Tftc
Watching a young man out bodyboarding an thinking he's game so many rocks to hit. His mates had the right idea they were atop the cliff watching him which was good as they wern't watching me get the cache.
