4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

###**CACHE OWNER ACTION REQUIRED PLEASE**###

----------

I notice from one or more log entries that this cache would seem to be in need of some help - **there appears to be a need for owner intervention.**

Therefore, the cache is being temporarily disabling so as to stop it showing up on search lists and to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary.

The guidelines indicated that regular visits to check on the cache, as well as prompt attention to any logs that indicate there is a problem, are part of the [**cache owners responsibilities.**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines#listingmaintenance) I cannot see any log that indicates a recent visit by the CO to this cache.

If you can't attend to the issue promptly, then you need to [**Disable it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=235) - I have Disabled it for you this time.

**Can you please respond to this situation (or indicated your intention) by 5th August,** so others know exactly what is happening with this cache?

You have lots of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:

- Repair and/or Replace your cache or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) and [**ENABLE your cache.**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) Then sit back and wait for the praises.

- If you don't plan on fixing it up then please [**Archive it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56) so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.

- If you really hope to get it fixed but there is some unusual reason why you can't do it soon, then at least post a Write Note log (by 5th August). Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it.

You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, it is likely that I will need to Archive it on the basis that it has been abandoned. Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then.

Please don't send me an email but instead follow the instructions posted above.

On our trip trough Australia with the hole family we looked also for some caches. They often showed us places we would never had discovered. Thanks a lot to all the people who care about this lovely hobby Big Grin.

Today is day one of our trip away. We set off to Berri to spend 3 days caching the Riverland area, joined by earthlight and Gwen from The X-Trailers. This was a good opportunity to find (or DNF) caches while trialling out our new tent and camping accessories, gearing up for when we head off to the QLD Mega at the end of March. We started out in temperatures of 38ºc before that first evening brought light showers, although not enough to dull the 41ºc temp for day two. Day three was a much nicer day as the day cooled down to a nice 28ºc. We managed 200+ finds on this trip. On day two we found caches in 3 states in 1 day being SA, VIC & NSW, that was quite a highlight. No snakes were spotted, guess it was too hot for them but we had one roo bound slowly across the road in front of us. Next trip back here will be with the boat, there are plenty of river caches to hunt for and of course all the ones we didn't have time for. It was a fabulous weekend away. We made a quick find here and 4 sailing boats behind the reeds looked like one big ship coming down the river as they were all evenly spaced, log sheet was full so we dropped a new log sheet in there. We'd celebrated New Years in Murray Bridge with Mrs C's brother and his family and the nephews wanted to go caching so we decided to grab a few in the local area.

There were a few people camping along the bank nearby but no one near GZ. We used the car as a screen and soon had the cache in hand. Master 6 and 3 call the pontoon here the "floating brick".

Out for the evening with Sylken to bag a couple of night caches and anything else that happened along our path we enjoyed the area that this was hidden in. The night sounds in the wetlands made a fantastical soundtrack for a Halloween night caching adventure Wink

We had come to the wetlands in the company of geodaughter KAROPI to attempt the nearby night cache.

With the use of a couple of good torches we made the find. We loved the look of this area in the dark and will try to come back during daylight to enjoy the wetlands. The sound of all the frogs was amazingBig Grin

Many thanks for the hide shellybobbob[^][^][^]

Here for Oz Mega, it was weird finding caches in this reserve as I went here with a friend as part of a science club when I was about 9, there are photos all over the family computer of us here, it was nostalgic coming here 5 years later!

After initially dnf-ing - and figuring it was missing because we were in the company of Winterdragon who had previously found it, we had another go after walking around the wetlands because we saw other cachers at GZ... who just happened to be the owners replacing the cache, so very fortuitous and lovely to meet you too!

Found while in Murray Bridge for the Oz Mega 2012.
We decided to do a couple of other caches nearby so we swung by to grab this one first.
The hint had eluded us for a while, and we couldn't see it. We started to widen our search and found the cache somewhere else in a manner that we didn't expect to see.
In the end we got our names in and gained another smilie. Thanks for the fun 'shellybobbob'

19-Apr-14
Found it.

19-Apr-14
This cache took a minute or two to locate because we were looking for something else, I guess. In the end I suppose it was obvious though. Just got it rehidden when a few more geo-vehicles came tearing into the car park, probably scaring the bejeezus out of the muggle parked under the bridge. TFTC!!! Big Grin
