As there's been no cache to find for a long time, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.
Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Had a go at this today. Read all the logs first and had some ideas. It wasn't to be though. However it was not a waste of time - junior geo was delighted when a train thundered underneath and the driver waved, and I was rewarded by great views of the snowcapped Southern Alps. It was worth the visit.
Sadly, not this time. I believe I found it but need to think a bit more about this one.
This cache is close to where our son is working, while we wait out the short walk through this difficult job well hidden cache

Looked for this one before with no luck, but after reading past logs and going up and down stairs a few times finally had success. Our last cache for 2016!
Cool hide. Coords slightly off but still easily findable. Odgersaj informs me that it has migrated slightly towards Hayton rd
Had a good look around and just could not find it... so we gave up. One last look back and there was something not quite right.. a cache. Cheers
It's definitely there. Found and signed log. Original cache cover is missing but it is all safe inside a plastic bag. I read the logs which gave me a hint for how to find this. Tftc
I. Love. Trains. This is an awesome location for a cache. A train went under the bridge while I was up there. Cool. Easily spotted from the stairs. Carefully retrieved and re located. TFTC. A favourite.
My 700th cache and I didn't even know it until now! A quick find for us since Jess.daphne spotted it on the way up. A neat spot, I bet it's pretty lively when the trains go by. Tftc.
A cool place to come, the cache was spotted as we were headed to GZ so quickly grabbed. TFTC!
Found with odgersaj back when I first started and didn't understand the app/have a prem account - now I do though! Signed the log back then but didn't do the online bit so logging now. Thank you!!
After the Event on that special day we did a tour through Christchurch with "AlfT & Co". That was great fun and they showed me some very interesting caches. Thanks so much for that great support.
After trying a few others in and around town with no luck due to alot of people around this one was in a prime location and just enough out of view to not be seen. Great cache tftc
Read other people's clues "look from a distance" and saw cache as soon as I turned up. Needed to get on my stomach to actually retrieve though. Thanks for the find. Log full on one side. Signed back
Went up, looked, felt, no find. Went down, looked up - aha, there it is. Up again and log signed, thanks
TFTC
He had fallen to the ground. We brought him back. But we dont know, if he is at the correct place. Please controll.
Kind regards from switzerland.

Thank you for bringing us to this location, kids enjoyed the wee history lesson of this place. Would love to come back when a train is going under. Took us a wee while to find this cache, then took us a wee while to open it. Found, opened, signed and cache is back in its spot. TFTC

Bit of a look with my son...no luck. Son was happy as two trains went underneath us when we were there. Have another crack later...cheers
Stopped by this one on way to do cycleway from the south. Found it after reading previous finds. I retrieve the cache about to open and sign.
The a muggle couple with young boy who has intellectual disability turn up. The boy wants to watch Transalpine go past. Wait for them to leave using story that I am train enthusiast waiting for same thing. After half hour they finally leave. Remove cache from pocket, sign and replace.

We failed to find this cache on a previous occasion, but today succeeded, although it took a while, eventually spotting the cache when looking from a distance. TFTC
27/08/2014 4:29 pm Find #3660 I've found a few caches on and near platforms like this and today I got my first one in Christchurch. A good size container too. Thanks Minty Express.
After a successful shopping expedition it was time to grab a few caches and take a walk in the afternoon sun before heading to South Canterbury for the week to work. On the way to the Southern motorway series stopped to grab this one. Had my bearings wrong and was looking the wrong way...but once I changed my outlook I soon found what I was after, I walked over to the steps to sign the log and then carefully replaced it. TFTC
One of many finds for the day out with Say Hello Egg and Rusty2337. Nice easy find, tftc.
We were in town for the morning running some errands when we stumbled across this cache. It looked interesting enough so we stopped and had a go. Cache was found soon after. We were careful to make sure nothing fell onto the tracks! Thanks for the cache.
This was another Mad Bear find with BBear. Enjoyed looking for it, it was a nice view from up there. Thought it would be a bit harder being a difficulty 3. TFTC
Having got the flat tyre replaced after attending the event on the other side of town I felt the need to find a few caches before heading home. Quite pleased it wasn't on the space saver wheel.
I was about to return the cache when I remembered a travel bug I had in the car, so I hope I put it back correctly.
Thanks for the cache, I have enjoyed the series so far. Wouldn't it be nice if we had passenger trains running around town again.

Came the other day but due to time constraints had to leave before locating the cache shot back today easy find TFTC
A nice quick find, after waiting for some muggles to finish eating their lunch on the steps to the bridge..sure bought back some memories as I used to spend a lot of time on this bridge watching the steam trains go past. TFTC
Thought I had logged this one many moons ago but obviously I hadnt so here it is. TFTC. Cheers Bo
Was signing the log for this cache when a train came and stopped right underneath me! Too bad Im not into parkour
Tried this cache without GPS before, but we were not patient enough. Today with the technical help this was an easy find. TFTC
I just found out that there are some geocaches within walking distance from work.
Good to get out in the sun for a bit.

Geocaching while working is always good. Just caught cache out the cnr of my eye. Is the padlock a marker? Tftc
We spent some time searching, and being rocked by a passing train, but the cache eluded us today.
Never thought we would be back but doing a high Favorited cache near thought we would give it a go. Wish we had got a picture of the taggers that were at work near - but would the police do anything ? They did nothing about pictures of people actually breaking into our sons car so what hope to do a tagged area have on their priorities ! LGM
It was a bit windy and cold up here today so it was a quick sign and return. Cheers
Tried to find this one other time. Found it today and it was pretty eay. I'm sure I looked here last time!!! Log in good shape. TFTC.
Took a while but got it in the end. Even stood there as a freight train roared underneath us much to the delight of Master Chchcochrane. Thanks
Given the last log apparently turned to moldy mush, you definitely want to consider going back and replacing the plastic bag. Coin bags are not suitable for caching because of the hole in them. You want a plastic bag that seals water-tight.
Thoroughly distracted and confounded by a seemingly out of place object near it, I eventually gave up on that and promptly found the cache.
Quickly found after purchasing some O rings nearby so decided to do a couple of quick caches on the way home! TFTC
Found cache just before a fellow geocacher, Hatas, turned up. Enjoyed our chat with him.
I was chuffed to meet the RollyRocket's. We had a good talk. This cache took me back to my childhood for when I was about 10 I knew the son of the local stationmaster. This gave us access to a push/pull jigger which we used to run up and down a sideline. In fact this whole area was our playground for I also remember playing ship warfare balancing on floating logs in shingle pits filled with water - all strictly forbidden by our parents of course. OSH would have had a heart attack. Now it is all light industrial. Oh dear! Such is the price of 'progress.'
Had an early morning start and a couple of nearby caches was compensation. Hadn't read the recent logs so hadnt anticipated the state of the cache. This really needs some work.
Log book is moldy mush. I signed on the cache info sheet which is surprisingly dry.
I see this one has been needing maintenance for quite some time. Perhaps the next person to go looking could take a new log book with them? The old one cannot be read and should really just be thrown away.

GPS sent was sending me out onto the tracks! Silly GPS. Found on the second look. Cheers
Got it after we read the description. A pity no trains went by as we were standing here. Brought back memories of our childhood. A favourite from us.
Found by torchlight in the late evening with not a soul around which made searching very easy. Had to try quite a few places before I found it staring me in the face close to where I had first looked. As others have noted, the logbook is a sodden mess and needs replacing urgently. I would have done that myself but unfortunately there's not room in the container for both the old and the new. Fortunately I had a pen that was able to sign it. TFTC and for showing us this old structure.
Finally found after being here numerous times, don't know how I missed it. Log book is soaking wet tftc
An early morning round of caching in the rain and wind, seems the best time to make a muggle free retreival for this cache, all quiet around here

Forgot to do this earlier but the log book is actually wet and mouldy and in need of replacement. Sorry didn't have one with me.
Not as difficult as I thought it would be after reading the description. Was on my way to the midnight event so with time to spare, found a few caches around this area. Great when you have the whole area to yourself to take your time searching.
#5336. I'd been over the overbridge before (while walking Chch streets). Good coords and a quick find. Log book is damp and mouldy. TFTC.
StreetWalker had already found the cache by the time I had caught up with him. Would have been fun if a train had passed while we were at GZ!
TFTC.
