Suscoe had a big day out in the Wedderburn and surrounds area on this delightful Spring day.
50 finds from 50 caches, Whoo-hooo!!!!!!!!!!!!
We enjoyed a very early start and saw lots of interesting countryside. Hilly tracks, bush, granite outcrops, lots of quartz, some old equipment, beaut gardens, buildings aplenty and even a solar array, what a great day to be out and about.
Thanks to the old blokes for this hide, the crossing was dry as a .....

Discovered this cache with GoodLook & Locus & friends while visiting the Wedderburn area.
Hello from France,
SlackMac.

18-Feb-17
After the event Locus was cool enough for Mal and I to jump on board Harry and we cached with the awesome ChooknChunk and the lovely Micaparamedic until dinner time, this being one of the caches we targeted.

A fun trip across the border. We left late afternoon on Friday and made it to Wedderburn late into the night. The purpose was for us to go on a roadtrip and attend the "9 months to Alexandra Mega" event.

I had a wonderful time with my Victorian caching buddies, and catching up with the lovely Locus Cache.

We laughed, shared crazy tales, spoke about puzzles, went 4wd and hung out with mates....I eventually got home late Sunday night in prep for work on Monday - an awesome weekend!

Thanks for the cache the old blokes! Smile

Out today on a country road trip to fill in some LGA's and explore the countryside.
Sun came and and it really heated up - great to explore some new spots!

Wow - look at the size of her. Wonder how long ago the creek ran through here.

The cache was still in place - however empty with no logbook! Thanks anyways Smile

We set off with TR! and honeysucker for the Addams Family series in The Granites Nature Reserve after a bite to eat in town , picking up a few in and around the area as well. The GPSr's were leading everyone astray this afternoon but luckily my trusty iPhone saved the day and had the cache within 1 metre, making me the finder on this occasion. Thanks to the old blokes for good hide.

Find No. 1001. Found at 2.53pm.

An afternoon drive to Wedderburn with our geo dog Penny on board and FUF009 tagged along.
The aim was finding a special cache for our 1000th find. As we have now accomplished this, we decided to grab a few more before heading home.

Another tricky hide, but just think like 'the old blokes' and you will find it. Sure are big old red gums.

Took small camera charm. Left two small erasers, a butterfly and a penguin.

TFTC the old blokes.

Travelling around Australia with our Cat.

Staying a few days in St Arnaud, today we decided to head back up towards Wedderburn and find some more caches.

Pretty cold today with a minus 2degrees start and only 0.4 at 9am. Didn't deter us though a great day out touring. Razz

Love these trees.

Thanks for placing your cache to assist with our touring of the area, and feeding our geoaddiction. the old blokes Cool

I've had a dnf here in the past when I must admit to being GPS-centric and cache blind. Today it was bleedingly obvious! Doh!

After completing the Telstra cache, we all set off in search of a few more local caches. Glad we had the 4WD's as it made it a lot easier on some of these local roads after the much needed rain.

Love these old river redgums. Magnificent trees. Thanks the old blokes

There are times that Bogonghazy and I (like many other cachers no doubt) have tunnel vision. And then follows those moments when you could slap yourself. This was one of those moments. Some fantastic old specimens of River Redgums along here. The road was still quite wet from the weekends rain, and we had the caravan on. Managed to not get bogged, and I'm pleased to report BH is on Car and Caravan wash duty tomorrow. I just haven't told him yet Smile Thanks to the old blokes for the cache.

02-Jun-14
this was the first for Sully and I after doing the morning rounds without the van in tow. We picked it up at the c'van park, and then our GPS's had us going the long way to this one, but we got there in the end.
After a couple of false leads, we again had to trust the coords, and there it was, another clever hide.
Somehow a heap of sugar ants had invaded the container, and I was left with the sweet smell of the little guys on my hands for a while. I shook as many as I could out, and replaced.
Thanks again tob

We came to Wedderburn for the 2 events and stayed a couple of nights to make the most of the weekend caching time.
We found your cache Wedderburn 2012 : River Redgums on 31/05/2014 3:21 pm. This is our find #3766 and find #21 today.
Thanks the old blokes for the cache!

Magnificent river gums, I love the huge trunks, and happy to have my 6th find in the unloved caches series, which alleviates the disappointment of not being able to find the lost by GPS #4 today

01-Oct-13
On the way to tackle the Addams Family series and decided to drop by this one on the way through.

What a great tree. I have to admit, for a while there I wondered if this were to blow over, how much firewood would the Quark family have?

A quick find. I had a feeling I knew where it was when I pulled up, and I was....wrong. But the second place I thought was where it actually was.

We headed off yesterday with a plan to head TOWARDS Horsham, but as our trips are generally slow (based on how many smilies we collect on the way) we made it to Charlton after dark, so this was our stop for the night.

Charlton cleaned up, the question of where to head next? Having attended the Wedderburn event earlier in the year, we knew there were some out of town caches we hadn't attempted, so decision that would would do the Mash & Addams family series.

Greg spotted it quick. TFTC SL

No joy today.
After looking again at the photo supplied by CO, I wonder if we had the right GZ as the tree there is considerably larger/higher than this one.
Trees really mess with aGPS so this was a bit of a blind search anyway. Nevermind.

22-Jun-13
Being such a lovely day, we took off late this afternoon for an hour or so while we were waiting for our pizza dough to rise for dinner to grab a couple caches. This was one of the ones we got to. Arriving at GZ we startled the biggest hare/jack rabbit I have ever seen and he would have made a tasty pie or stew for our family of five easily! What a beauty! Anyway, leaving Dad in the car the kids and I took off across the road and headed straight for the massive tree and other debris laying around as the GPS was sending us there. Not finding much, we looked around and I spied something that had me reminiscing about another one of the Old Blokes caches that was one of our favourites. Sure enough, my 9 year old lifted the lid on this clever little hide.

Giving this one a favourite too, just because a little more thought and work has been put into hiding this one than the usual hides in these sorts of areas/terrains.

SL, left a little bag of swag that we were able to squish in quite easily. TFTC! Smile

10-Jun-13
Found at 10.10am, out for a country drive.
A lovely stand of red gums, We arrived at GZ and the cache location seemed obvious.
So it was proved.

Another great hide by The Old Blokes. Nice tricky hide and typical of your style.
Thanks guys for these caches.

What a magnificent stand of redgums here, they are certainly of the massive varfiety - amazing how they grow with only occasional watering from the creek. I had a good look around for this one as several likely hidey holes were around and I had to check them all. After several minutes of fruitless searching, I had a thought "no, surely they wouldn't do that" and of course they had. Cache in hand, signed and returned. Thanks to the old blokes for another masterful hide.

26-May-13
Someone had asked for a hint for this one at the event yesterday and now I know why we couldn't remember it. GPS wasn't being helpful but lo - there it was. TFTC

Out caching around the Wedderburn area after attending the Wedderburn 2013 Event with Fergzter. This one was a very clever hide that did take a bit to find. TFTC.

After being unsuccessful at a nearby cache we nearly thought we were out of luck again as we scrambled around looking hard. Then I glanced in the right direction and thought.... hang on a sec... and there it was. Nice hide. Well done. TFTC The Old Blokes.

We were desperate for a break from the continual Nano's and Eclipse Tins, so off to Wedderburn where great effort has been taken in the design and placement of caches. Wedderburn used to be in P-P's bailiwick many years ago, so it was great to come back and notice the changes. Our thirteenth of the 2012 series, a baker's dozen rounds it off nicely. These trees are certainly a magnificent sight along many of the river banks, thanks for reminding us to take note.

TNLN . . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt the old blokes.

I've had fun hunting for and finding this cache, It never ceases to amaze me how the CO in the first instance comes up with the idea for placing a cache at this location. After signing the log and then replacing the cache, another find becons me. Thanks the old blokes for the cache.

Our first find for the Wedderburn Caching Event hosted by The Old Blokes a great way for us to start the day! thanks again to the old blokes for what was such a wonderful day!!

03-Jun-12
There was a mini event here today and Team Crackers and I arrived for what for us was a very easy "find" although we were able to appreciate the well done hide when shown.

03-Jun-12
On our way to do the Addams family series we stopped to collect this cache as well. Another good hide which we found quite quickly once the GPS had settled down. Thanks for the cache.

03-Jun-12
Our first find for the Wedderburn Caching Event hosted by 'The Old Blokes' and a grand way amidst the mighty Eucalypts at the location. It always impresses this old Plodder that from such a small seed grows such an astonishing example of life. The Cache was well hidden in 'The Old Blokes' style, as we all looked the wrong way at first before some 'geo-logic' kicked in - albeit slowly. By the example of this cache is one of the strengths of Geocaching - it takes you to places, seemingly nondescript (though nothing nondescript about a River Redgum) and the finding of the cache (though that is fund too especially with a well thought out hide) becomes secondary to the location. With 'The Comrades'. TNLN. Thank you to 'The Old Blokes' for this our first cache of the many for the day but more importantly for its location.

03-Jun-12
Needed help with this. Clever set up again. Thanks

03-Jun-12
Headed out early to tackle this one, on a lovely sunny morning. This one turned out to be as clever as we have come to expect from The Old Blokes hides!

Fully agree with the concept of making us stop and take a proper look at these fantastic trees - beautiful and majestic. TFTC, Old Blokes.

03-Jun-12
We were up here for the Old Blokes “Day out in Wedderburn” event and traveling with Alansee who kindly offered to be chauffer today as we were in Diane’s buzz box which is not suited to rough tracks. This one was possibly the easiest as there was another team there as we arrived and all we had to do was have a chat and sign the log then watch where it was replaced, another great hide in a location we would have missed driving by. These trees are very impressive and some defiantly seen a lot of history in their time.
Thanks again The Old blokes for another great hide in an excellent location. Another favorite from us.

3/06/12 11:10 Find #2178 Smile. My geocaching instinct had me looking in other spots first before this clever cache was found in the last place I looked [:p]

If this cache is an indication of the quality in the area I'm in for a good day [^]

A big weekend away up north west was had which took in just over 100 caches, including 4 First to Finds, about 1000 days towards the Unloved Cache Challenge (GC3KWWQ) and some really fun adventures both solo and with new and old friends. Topped off with a great well attended event cache at Wedderburn.. (with yummy food too) Thanks to all the various cache owners along the way and my apologies upfront for the copy / paste style logging of those 100 odd caches.. Some of the Caches hadn't been found for between 6months and 18months which added greatly to my 15 years required for GC3KWWQ.. Thanks..

Many of the caches were a blur and thus there isn't too much I can add from an individual cache log point of view, my apologies to the cache owners who each have put a lot of effort into their respective hides..

Thanks The Old Blokes for an awsome assortment of new and old caches and a wonderful event.

Found by Roma and Max.
Another FTF but this time although an excellent hide, it was of a type we have become familiar with, and associate with the old blokes, however again executed in a very professional way.
Thanks and cheers,
