New replacement cache and log placed today. This is a very high muggle area, please log "Did Not Finds" so that I can ensure the cache is still present. Enjoy the cache.

Today we had a good drive / wander round the town and picked up several caches - trads, puzzles we had solved and a few multis worked on today too.We had a look at this one and at GZ had a fair idea where to look but came away empty handed Tim and Viv - ddm

Summer Geocaching Road Trip - Day 4 - In and around Gisborne. It's been a while since I've been off on a road trip and this one has been on the cards for quite a while. I plan to visit some parts of the country where I've done very little caching before and hope to complete the qualification for a challenge cache in Nelson. I needed to fill in a multi dot day today and this was a great way to do it. TFTC, Biggles.

08-Jan-23
An unusual type of multi, but once we got to GZ we worked out what to do. TFTC siliry!

08-Jan-23
A late night multi for a dot day while in Gisborne. I was confused about a multi with no waypoints, then thought we’d been muggled when I espied the seated readers in my periphery Quick deduction and find in first spot I looked, for some redemption. Thanks siliry!

01-Jan-23
Plenty of muggles at nearby coffee shop but managed to retrieve without any problems.
TFTC.

#1819. Day 7 of our (GB Leader and I) 12 day Hawkes Bay odyssey to watch grandsons play cricket. Then on Saturday, after grandson #1 finished his tournament, it was off to Gisborne.

First time for me in Gisborne for something like 35 years. Shame my arrival coincided with Cyclone Cody and a tsunami.

This morning, after coffee at #zestisbest, I spotted this multi - I had sat on the seat yesterday without realising its significance. Identified GZ very quickly and soon had the cache in hand. Very clever idea for a cache, giving it a FP! I put the quite tatty but still writable log in a plastic bag to protect it a bit.

Tftc siliry.

It was after dark when we attempted this one and not a muggle was seen. Soon tracked down a likely spot and malinkaly made the find.
Malinkaly and I planned a road trip to go to the MEGA but Covid has postponed the event again. We decided to continue on with our planned journey making adjustments as we go with the ever-changing travel restrictions.
Greetings from Dunedin!
Thanks for the cache, siliry

A plan was hatched recently to hit the Gisborne area this weekend. Nice to get away after the recent lockdown and grab some smiles. Signed logs Team BoP to save room on log sheets.

I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

With (Mr) Davidson clan, Gap (of Fap and Gap), and McJandals. We planned a Gisborne roadtrip in August to get a jump on the Reach the Peak challenge, but Covid-19 lockdowns stuffed up our plans. As soon as levels allowed for it, our outing was back on the table. Today’s one-day mission meant getting up and away by 4AM…

We sat and watched passersby stroll through this interesting setting. We bided our time and watched a well dressed couple poke around in the gardens. Are they caching? It turned out, he had recently sprayed the gardens for weeds and was somewhat dismayed that he’d missed some… There was no mistaking the cache - Thanks siliry and TFTC.

11-Sep-21
enjoyed our walk around area gathering the required information.

Gisborne is so lucky to have these sculptures.

Jude_E, NosyNel and I are continuing on our figure of 8 tour of the North Island collecting the ‘Tour’ caches, plus others, plus seeing the scenery, plus having a good old time. TFTC.

Travelling from Gisborne today to Napier with Nosynel and Ethness. Our goal is to find all the TMGT caches in a big figure 8 across the centre of the North Island. Enjoyed sitting by grandad! Thanks for the hide.

After looking at the hint I worked out what I needed to do. I am on a North Island Figure of Eight tour. For the first 4 days I spend time in the Bay of Plenty with my husband JDScout in Rotorua. Now I am on part one of the eight loop going around the Eastern Cape. This part is being done with my good friends Ethness and Jude_E.
Thanks siliry for creating this hide. It was find 8974 for me.

This was the first one for today.

Cheers for the cache.

30-May-20
Lots of muggles. More than 6 months nobody and I was so lazy to look for it longer. Hint wasn't useful.

Loved the artwork for this cache. Reminds me of all the books I read to my daughters. Enjoyed a lovely breakfast across the road after locating the cache. Thanks very much siliry

Day 5 Gisborne - Napier - Taupo - Rotorua

Before heading Napier. Beautiful quiet morning to walk around the city to avoid many muggles to come. Nice statues. Found it. Thanks siliry for placing this multi cache

Greetings from Melbourne, Australia

11-Aug-19
In Gizzy for the weekend and went caching with a couple of muggles, who actually ended up finding the cache after having breakfast at a nearby cafe.

23-May-19
TFTC plenty of muggles and rubbish good klenup ere leaving

21-Apr-19
Decided to come here early this morning when it would be muggle-free but there quite a few homeless muggles wandering around. Made this way too hard for myself til i read the clue and got that 'a-ha' moment on the second sweep. TFTC This makes a Puzzle cache, a Trad and a Multi for the morning. Now off for brekkie.

14-Apr-19
Thanks I dropped a trackable

19-Feb-19
On a cruise to New Zealand ports, Today we stopped at Gisborne. We caught a shuttle bus into the City centre and had a walk around to find a few caches and have a look at the surrounds. Some really nice Art installations, and an easy find despite muggles everywhere. None were taking any notice of us though and most were off the Cruise ship. TFTC

17-Jan-19
Multis are our new fav type of cache so made sure we did this while we were in town. Location soon figured out and cache discreetly retrieved. Thanks

02-Dec-18
walked past here this morning but too busy. came back in the afternoon during the rain and had the place to myself. quickly found.

02-Dec-18
This had been a planned trip in the company of HKCB to Whangarei but as the weather wasn't the best in the north we thought we would bring this trip forward and head over here to see what we could locate as neither of us had done a whole lot around this area.
Leaving home 7pm Friday evening and returning by midnite Saturday, 954kms travelled and approx. 70 caches located along with about 8 DNF's.
Thanks to all the CO's whom have put out these caches for us and completing the maintenance to keep them going.
The start of a new day and after a few hours sleep it was time to see what we could find with the real challenge being the new virtual as that was a primary goal for the trip. With the light up and no rain the day was looking good for a few caches. Had the place to ourselves and the cafes nearby were only just opening for the day.

Thank you for the placement, thanks for the cache.

01-Dec-18
This weekend had been booked into headed to Whangarei with Cats&Dragons for a bit of caching, but as the weather wasn't looking flash at all, so we decided to head East instead to Gisbourne as we both hadn't done much caching in te area. Leave home about 7pm Friday, and returning home midnight Saturday meant we got a fair bit of caching time in for the limited time we had. All up we found just under 70 caches in total, so a big thanks for all the CO's for placing and maintaining the caches we found on this trip.

Took a few minutes to work out what was involved in the multi, but once that was sussed it was a quick find. Nicely done.

30-Sep-18
One week off during school holiday time, combined with some cheap flights made a great adventure in the HB and Gisborne area, popping into BoP a couple of times also. I had great fun and I am grateful to all CO's who placed the caches for others' entertainment!!
Early Sunday morning find! Great place, thanks for bringing me here. TFTC!!

15-Sep-18
A nice quick find tftc

02-Sep-18
Lovely Sunday morning brunch at a nearby cafe - easy find as no muggles around. Tftc

21-Jul-18
Was in the area to grab a quick breakfast and was pleased to find that this long-disabled multi has finally been re-activated. Finished my breakfast and wandered over to the gz where, despite spilling my coffee, the cache was quickly in hand. TFTC

10-Jul-18
Thanks for enabling this cache again. Have been to look for it before but to note avail, however, tonight we found it straightaway! TFTC

08-Jul-18
Found while out and about on the bikes. Our searching must have looked a little odd as a pair of muggles asked us if we were looking for chewing gum?!? TFTC

05-Jun-18
The very long time frame of the upgrade (rebuild) to the Gisborne City Library has now been completed and it is now safe to be in the area again. New cache container hidden away, awaiting to be found.

07-Mar-18
The rebuilding of the Library by the GDC appears to be nearing completion. Once the library is open to the public, this cache will become active again. Appreciate your patience.

08-Feb-18
Is this being replaced soon? It’s been out of action for over a year

23-Oct-16
Nice idea to show off the sculptures. Pity the actual cache and log seems to be missing

23-Oct-16
Cache will be fully operational very soon thanks.

13-Sep-16
This one sounds like it was amazing ! Great area for tourists and visitors .
Hope it will be replaced soon .
It has been a while ! Thanks .

07-Mar-16
We had stopped by twice yesterday but it was too muggly to do anything more than a cursory look, so were at GZ at about 8:30 this morning for another go. Not many places to hide a key holder and we're sure we searched them all. With just one find since Oct, may be worth an owner check.

28-Jan-16
Found it

14-Jan-16
No joy for us

21-Nov-15
This had us stumped. Will have to come back on our next visit to Gisborne

17-Oct-15
Great clue tftc lovely spot on a hot day

12-Oct-15
Found it with family!

01-Oct-15
Thought we'd see if this was still here and log it for my Cache King. Got to the cache and our pen wouldn't work! Photographed the log (son was thrilled that DragonGem was opposite our last log!)

Cache was a bit damp, so dried it as best we could.

Thanks for the cache.

Smile

01-Oct-15
Came back to log this one under my own name, but Mum's pen was kaput! We took a photo of the log - I will upload it from the phone. I had to wipe out the inside of the cache, because there was water in there.

Nice spot for the cache though!

[^]

How cool is it that Dragon Gem signed on the opposite page!!!

22-Sep-15
A quick find with no muggle issues on this drizzly Tuesday morning before 9am. I love public art!

20-Sep-15
Cache is well hidden and ready to be found.

01-Sep-15
Checked to see if this one was still there and couldn't see it... Had another friend who couldn't find it either. Might want to check that it's still there?

29-Jun-15

18-May-15
At the second attempt of finding this cache, I finally found it, face palming my face, telling myself off for looking in the complete opposite direction. Great cache, log book was dry as a bone !

29-Apr-15
Sneaky hide, would definately recommend seaching at night Smile

11-Apr-15
Had a little look for this, but there were too many muggles on the benches. Will hopefully have another look later on.

22-Jan-15
Couldn't spot it this morning, so returned tonight after we had tea. No muggers around and soon had cache in hand.

19-Jan-15
Happy New Year. Owner checked cache and it was found in good order, ready to be found, happy hunting cheers SiLiRy

14-Jan-15
Found it !

25-Dec-14
After 3 attempts we finally found it Smile tftc

22-Dec-14
We couldn't find it yesterday, which is a bit silly really because on the second visit I found it straight away in the obvious location. This was after shops closed and muggle count in the area was pretty low. As I turned around with cache in hand, I noticed a muggle had walked in on the scene and was staring at me. Bummer, I hope I haven't compromised the hide!

22-Dec-14
Second attempt with fanfan-77. Obviously we were both blind the first time round as it's not that hard. Just got to watch for muggles.

09-Oct-14
Had fun with this one. we sat next to the readers and tried to follow their eyeline. We fondled the hook - just in case. Then, when a nearby muggle was picked up, we headed to GZ and retrieved the cache, signed and returned it. We could have logged it while we were there are the library has 24/7 free wifi Wink

28-Jul-14
don't like the hi muggle areas, feel like a spy or a crook looking around. got some very strange looks. but got it

19-Jul-14
Have been meaning to pick up this one for ages, but every time I remember its high muggle time - but not today. TFTC

28-Jun-14
Couldn't find Sad

10-May-14
Revisited for TB visit when out caching with Nzferret and Lilleah13 on cold afternoon. Recall hunting this one when first placed, still in good order. cheers

10-May-14

26-Jan-14
Found at night with socksonsunday when no one was around. Nice Hide, liked the hint. TFTC

08-Jan-14
Was searching backwards for a while, mixed things up and BOOM quick find..

06-Jan-14
thought this one would be best in the evening...... wrong! Free Wifi meant muggles galore after closing....
Headed back next day, and managed to grab it.

01-Jan-14
So we needed to have a nice, creamy icecream from mr Donald and so close by this multi. I am amazed that it hasn't been found for so long.
I really liked this way of thinking. Cache in good order.

01-Nov-13
#4860. Interesting public art. No muggles after business hours. Missed it on the first pass, widened the search area, and eventually found it in the first spot looked at. TNLNSL. TFTC.

25-Jul-13
I do so love a clean log book!

Thanks for replacing the cache. My trip was a little postponed, but prize safe and sound.

Great artworks, thanks for bringing me here.

+ fav

30-Apr-13
Cache is up and running!!! I have put in a new cache container, log book and muggle card. No space for a pen so please bring your own. Please return the cache exactly as you found it as this is an extremely high muggle area where your actions can be viewed from multiple locations - which is why it is so fun to do! Cache containers are cheap and I am guessing this will not be the last replacement container required at this location. Happy hunting, SiLiRy.

21-Apr-13
Cache currently out of order.
My apologizes everyone, the cache container has been muggled. I will replace the cache container and log very early next week and write a new log when it is all in order. I did see the "DNF" logs that are emailed to owners but as this cache is a tricky one to find so did not think too much of it but I failed to realize that there were six "DNF" in a row! SiLiRy
