Was at the university as a research subject. For my eyeballs to be monitored for 90 mins. Who can say no to that study if it also gives you some geocaching opportunities? Finally I can stroll into the internal GZ.What a find, another library hide! Could use a break when you might need a rest from geocaching on the move . My find count: 2253 Thanks Sensible Shoes for giving this fabulous cache.

I'm back in Sydney for another weekend trip with friends to see Laufey perform, and with the morning to myself, I decided to make the most of it by visiting Lane Cove, picking up some high FP caches and even doing a bit of shopping. This cache had piqued my interest enough to give it a go (once I'd found where to park, of course!)WP1 gave me a bit of trouble but I was eventually able to wander in and through the library to where the cache was hiding in what must be the furthest possible corner! At least it was a simple and pleasant find once I was there - the contents of the cache made for slightly unconventional logbooks so I slipped in a logsheet seeing as though the rest of the placement is holding up fine. Thanks to Sensible Shoes and lasramblas for placing this one here! Smile

The cache was indeed missing but happy to report it mysteriously reappeared today. Perhaps it was just on semester break.

Found WP1 but someone apparently stole the book! Librarian also couldn't find it so we just left disappointed.

A rainy day meant it took us a while to find WP1 (we even peeled inside a drain pipe!). Thankfully locating the GZ was a nice, dry search

We wore our sensible shoes today too.We have had this on a list for a while. Frequent trips to Sydney to see our grandchildren enable us to enjoy caching here.We flew this time, so made use of our opal card and our ast knowledge of the NSW public transport. Our first time on the metro, I thought I was in Singapore. So Mrs Unssy being a librarian always enjoys a library cache. We were hoping that the Robot may have brought the cache to us.Nevertheless the excitement in locating the cache and walking through the library was big.We think a fp is definitely in order. Thanks Sensible shoes for placing and maintaining this cache and for our treasure hunt.

Such fun! Children had a great time searching and were so surprised once cache was discovered!

14-Apr-24
It was only one whole day in Sydney for us; we landed two days ago in the afternoon, and walked from morning till night yesterday exploring the metropolis. After a nice evening and some rest, we woke up today with the intention to start our drive down south. Little did we know that our plans would get quite derailed with a flat tire just as we left Sydney. But anyway, before that happened, we still had a short morning in the city; while Laura went to visit her friend early in the morning, I left our room a little later (after an unfortunately long checkout) and headed to pick up our car. After a bit of a walk, we reunited in town, got our luggage tucked in for the drive, and headed slightly north to an oldie, after which this high-FP cache and its size caught our attention. And it ended up being a great choice. After a short drive, we parked on the campus and headed to the stage. There I spotted what we were looking for pretty quickly, and we headed into the cool building after we saw the strangely non-personal part of the library. There we saw what we missed; an actual library, and a little bit of academia which we missed. Looks like a great campus and a wonderful place to be. At least while visiting, we were happy to roam around for a while and quickly got to the stash. It was quite bittersweet, as after seeing the stash we quickly decided we would leave one of our two TBs which we activated for this trip here. We got open the logbook, stamped in our nick at 1:38 pm, making this our 7139th overall find. We snapped a few more photos of our TB and dropped it here. Thank you Sensible Shoes for placing and maintaining your* Bibliotheca Robotum stash*; we were glad to visit it and spice up our Sunday while down under in ????Australia for our spring break, visiting from slightly-distant ????Myanmar! We snapped a photo and returned the stash as we found it, and appreciate the opportunity for a find and visiting another new location. For my own personal statistics; this is the fifty-ninth of 112 geocaches we visited down under while on spring break, excluding the 56 adventure lab caches we visited and 28 Waymarks visited. It was quite a long and exciting day for us, as we walked 21.17km throughout the city while visiting twenty-five stashes just this one day.

Grabbing a few caches in the area before meeting my son for lunch, after a systematic search at waypoint 1 the needed numbers were found. Then entered the biggest library I have ever seen, it was a quick find thanks to a very well organised library. A very creative cache indeed. Thanks for the cache tnln replaced as found sl

Here for a graduation, tried real quick to find something at wp1 but out of time. Do want to stop to visit with TB.

5-year old GeoKid and I loooooooved this cache! We got lucky finding the disc right away, and it was super cool to find the geocache shortly afterwards. Geokid would like me to mention that he was disappointed there was no toy with in it. So we left one for the next GeoKid. Thank you for this great cache. FP awarded!

W find, really struggled with finding actually locating first waypoint cause was looking in the library but when I orientated myself and went to location on map was pretty easy.

26-Aug-23
I have had this highly favourited cache on my "to-do" list for a long time now! It is actually the 3rd most favourited mystery cache in NSW! In the area today hunting down a bunch of interesting caches, and made sure not to miss this one!

Our day ended at 5pm, giving me an hour of the library's opening time to come and find it, phew!

Took a while to locate WP1. Lots of options for a "disc" to be hiding. It was just a matter of slowly checking each spot thoroughly, until it was eventually located, in a spot I didn't expect too!

Once that was sorted, it was into the library to make the find. Thanks to the easy layout of this library, this ended up being the easiest to locate book I have ever done in any libraries! Usually this is the part I struggle with!

Many thanks for this cache, another FAVOURITE from me

What a cool looking buidling! We hit the university today thinking that Sunday would be a quiet day and it was.

After searching for quite some time for WP1, I resorted to a PAF for help!

Yay! Even with a very specific hint it still took us quite some time to locate the prize. Although we could have been lucky while we were doing our original search but we were just unlucky. Sometimes it's just that way.

We headed for the GZ. Armed with information we again requested some help which we were given gladly. Very nice cache! Very fun. Didn't see the robot in action but we could see what would be the result and we watched the video so that was fun.

Thanks for bringing us here!

Gets another favorite point!

This one was very enjoyable even though it took us ages. Glad we persisted because the prize at the end was very clever. Caching with bdp today. This one gets a favourite point.

Today was a slow start. I stop in the accommodation and help tidy up before caching. I had small list today mainly caches for a challenge I’m working on.
This was my first one on the list.
It took me awhile to understand what I need to do. Finally found the information to find the cache.
Thank you Sensible Shoes and lasramblas for placing the cache and maintaining it. For my enjoyment.

Nyssaflutterby and I had chosen a few caches around this area before heading to one specific cache.
We saw this one on the map and decided it looked great!
I love library caches!
We missed seeing the retrieval system at first so we went back after finding the cache and had a look through the window.
I liked the garden nearby too!
The cache is awesome and definitely deserves a favourite point. Thanks for placing this awesome cache!

Today wombles and I were on a mission to find her 5000th cache at Lane Cove. We just needed a couple more to get her to that magic number. We decided on this one thanks to its high FPs and because who doesn’t love a library cache!?

WP1 we discovered what we needed without a hassle and made our way into the bustling building. Lots of muggles going about their business oblivious to the fact there is an awesome geocache hiding in this library.

We arrived where we needed to be and opened up the funky decoy covering. Love it! You can have all my FPs Great cache!

Thanks for the smiley Sensible Shoes Big Grin

My son is currently studying here at Macquarie University on an overseas programme and as I have arranged to meet up with him today, I was interested to check this cache out.

WP1 was a QEF (the CO kindly checking it was in place after the previous log) and off I went on my mission. I used the tequ at the entrance to locate where I needed to go and made my way to GZ to make the find. Super cache here! Signed log on blank page and replaced as found.

Greetings from the UK, thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for me to find. Have a FP!

I went here today thinking I would just give it a crack. Saw the robot at wp1 and i was stuck for a bit until I spied what I needed. I was actually super shocked with how nice Macquarie uni is. When I went to uni (Newcastle) it was dark and dingy and you were lucky if anything was open after hours and there was barely any art or architectural design and loads of mozzies. I think I may have chosen poorly and should have gone to Macquarie uni.
Anyways I got the clue and ended up making a find by befriending the librarian to get the nudge towards where I needed to go.
A favourite point is due here.

Was nearby this cache this morning. Since I'd had an enquiry from someone who hadn't found WP1, I took a look on the way past and can conform WP1 is still in position.

23-Feb-22
After a dinner and a quickly nearby traditional, me and the missus were heading home, when I thought ‘I’d do a quick check to see what other caches are hidden around’.
Luckily, this was the first one I clicked on - ‘bibliotheca! I love library caches! Ooh and GC of the month too? We have to check it out some time’.

As it was getting dark and late (8.10pm), I wasn’t expecting to find the library would be open - a quick website check proved me wrong, opened to the public 10pm on weekdays!
As we made the short drive over, i thought I’d try figure out the puzzle. Not really sure how to crack it, but previous logs suggested that WP1 was physical, so off we went.

Made the wp1 find pretty quick after reading the hint (maybe it was easier to see in the torchlight in the dark). Ahh! Bingo, we know what to do with this.
We quickly hurried through - it was quite empty inside, with a small number of students working. As we approached the hot spot, we expected to be looking for something Disney themed - it was only after we made the find and left did we realise the meaning of the hint!

Nicely made - and whilst Huey and Louie were unhelpful, Dufresne would be proud.

SL, had a read through some of the log signs of students who accidentally stumbled upon it.

Tftc!

Initially Bibliotheca Robotum left this reader thrilled. The prose is lucid, the characters are finely drawn and the plot is intriguing. But just when I reached the point where I felt could not put the book down, the quality suddenly fell away. To say the book contains a massive plothole is an understatement. The prose suddenly turns into a post-modernist nightmare of incomplete thoughts and fragmentary sentences that left this reader utterly befuddled. The style returns to normal towards the end, but far too late to rescue the story. Perhaps the author was attempting to portray the trauma experienced by the protagonist via a stream of consciousness writing style. If so, the attempt fails completely. I attempted to locate more information about the author, Repertus Fini, but Finally had to admit my Discovery is that they do not appear in any of the usual databases. Thus this appears to be is the first book by Fini, but given the unsteady quality of the work, I fear that it will also go down in history as their Last Book.

Cryptic myth (hint?) for those who don't immediately recognise the code found at WP1:

Guvf yvoenel qbrf abg hfr gur snzbhf flfgrz pb-vairagrq ol gur fpnaqny-cebar Xng Qrpvzny naq Zry Qrjrl. Vg hfrf n flfgrz fcnjarq ol n qvssrerag pbaterff.

I see many finders report disappointment at not seeing the robot move when at WP1. This is normal. I went on a tour of the library soon after it opened, when the librarians were rather unfairly being criticised for locking books away where we couldn't see them. The tour-guide made the point that most of the books in the library that are available for loan hadn't been borrowed in over 5 years, and those were the books being put into the robotic system. So most days nobody requests any books from the robot's lair. In fact, requests for these books were so rare that there was a schedule for a librarian to randomly request a book from the lair, which they then immediately returned, to ensure the robot got regular exercise.

TFTC. That was a fun find. I'm surprised it's over a year since the last find. Cache still in good condition.

As part of the university's COVID-19 response, access to the library is restricted to staff and students only. Once this restriction is lifted, we'll re-enable the cache.

Didn’t get further than WP 1 because the library is currently only accessible to students. Maybe because of Covid.

This has been on the "to do" list for sometime, having it strongly recommended by previous finders. Today, I was visiting the uni for a seminar and decided to give it a go afterwards. I had a muggle friend with me who was keen to find out what my hobby involved.

So after doing some reading in the Macquarie Theatre, we headed to GZ, where I tried the usual caching process of running my fingers under all the ledges I could get my hands on. With no success, I tried a PAF, then my "muggle" comrade says, "I that it? The disc?" Face-slap to Brew, as I had seen that before but made a rookie error and overlooked it. You'd think by now I would know to check that one? Of course that was it!

So with all the details we needed for GZ, we headed over and quietly made our way. Of course, we had the wrong level at first, but soon made it to the prized book. Finally it was CIH and my name was added to the catalogue as I spoke in excited whispers and had a big grin!

A great cache container to wrap up a great cache. My muggle friend was quite impressed! Have another well-deserved FP. TFTC

Wow what a cache. When at GZ we started looking for anything suspicious or that looked like something after about 2 minutes we finally locked on to something we saw so we got it saw what was on it and carefully replaced. Then we thought the library was closed because it was all dark but geoassistant eventually found the entry so we went in looking for the cache but looked on the wrong level where there was no library then we got to the library level and we started our search. After about 7 or 10 minutes we knew we were blooming in the wrong place again! So we asked some staff an they helped us out. We went looking for confused but after about a minute we found it. Wow what a laugh! I have to admit this is my favourite library geocache ever! TFTC definately Fav!

We have spent couple weeks in Sydney and today we decided to go after same favos. This one turned up to be awesome one! I had something in my mind as we headed her and itbwas proven right. It was 7pm already so no trouble finding parking spot. WP1 was a bit challenging but the rest worked out easily. Tftc and favo from me!

This one had been on my to do list for many years and a funeral bought me to the area today. Parking was the first challenge - I've never seen so many cars parked in one place! Minimum cost for parking was $10/hour but it's a small price to pay for being able to approach this in the day. Found the clue at the first WP and looked in the window. Then worked out where to go next. I found out where all those people who drove cars ended up, in the cubi-hell of the library. the place was chocka block full of students with laptops on white tables and cubicles. Not a square to spare. Could it be the free wifi, the air conditioning, the not wanting to face the real world outside? Who knows. As my muggle friend and I walked through the facility having a look around, we noticed many sets of eyes turning to look at us because we weren't the average undergraduate material. I played up to it, giggling as if I knew something they didn't, and I did, where the cache was hidden. This was a fun cache, especially doing it under the eye of so many muggles. Thanks Sensible Shoes and lasramblas for keeping this one going.

Today we headed over to Macquarie Park in pursuit of an EarthCache to visit for International EarthCache Day, and to collect a few other nearby caches whilst in the area. This was the 2nd of 5 finds for the day.

After visiting the nearby EarthCache for International EarthCache Day (today) we next strolled over to the library for this Mystery/Puzzle cache. Arrived at WP1 and took a peak at the "back end" workings of the ASRS then, after discovering some inspiration for our bibliotheca quest, we headed off in pursuit of the final GZ prize.

Worked our way through the deafening silence to final GZ, and made a super quick find thanks to the organised nature of the hide. Signed & stamped the logbook, TNLN, then replaced as found.

Thanks Sensible Shoes & lasramblas for the interesting cache placement, which gets a Favourite point from us.

This is a really interesting hide. I enjoyed the peeking at WP 1 very much. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to see the system in action. We were hoping we could somehow use the system trough the process. Anyhow, it was a really cool cache and interesting library system. TFTC!

Caching with oldmorty around the Lane Cove area when he suggested looking for this cache.
Not sure what to do until we arrived at WP1 and spotted a little something hiding there. Took a photo and wandered inside. Had a bit of a search around but could not find the area we were looking for so asked at the desk. Arrived at GZ and found the cache.
That was fun.
Thanks Sensible Shoes and lasramblas for placing this cache here for us to find. FP from me too.

15-Sep-19
Very clever hide. We stopped by WP1 first and had a look at the robots insides. Nobody seemed to be requesting books from this section so we didn't see it in action, but it's awesome to be able to peer into it! The clue at WP1 was then found and a wonder around the library eventually lead us to our reward. I thought it might have required robotic retrieval, but fortunately this cache didn't require the assistance of our future robotic overlords. TFTC! A favourite from me Smile

OCW frazeydaze doing a few caches around the Lane Cove area. After doing the old Lane Cove cache and getting ourselves a bit muddled with the multi Hernia's Hill we thought it would be fun to check out this cache with so many fav points. It didn't disappoint and after locating the disc we were in the cool of this beautiful library. The cache was located, signed and returned to its rightful location and then we retired for a cool drink in the cafe to have a second attempt at the Heria's Hill calcs which we eventually solved and found later.
TFTC and have another FP for your efforts.

Great cache and location. We needed help to find it.

And here we are. It is 2022, and after moving my life half the world away to Australia, discovering that Geocaching there without my friends was not as fun, generally trying to survive Australian fauna and flora and finding a job, only doing Geocaching on occasion during 2019, and then the pandemic hitting in 2020 and putting almost a complete halt to all traveling and finding, plus finally coming back to Europe to try and redo my life here this year… I have decided to sit down and log online all of the records I had gathered offline during these years. Some are lost forever (don’t trust your phone for years on end with offline logs), but hopefully I will manage to recover enough logs to paint a few broad strokes of what these years were, and the places they took me to.
Apologies in advance to all owners for this (in some cases, very) delayed logging. I can only say that sometimes we are not in the best place, and it takes time to find oneself. Thanks in advance for the hides, the places you took me to, and the stories you shared in the way.

----

Back in Australia, I have to go back to work and end up close to a couple of caches with a lot of time in my hands due to a cancellation. This was something impressive. I had never seen anything like this.

Fave!

Got it!!
After checking with the CO, and searching outside for quite a while, I decided to venture inside when there were only 5 mins to close...
I asked some librarians and after a couple of head scratched one young lady pointed me to the right direction!!

Thanx a lot for the fun

We were in the area today, so we decided to target this cache as it is trick for us to get to. Like others before us, we couldn't find the disc required at WP. We moved on to the library and found a group of friendly librarians who had heard about the cache, but did not know where to locate the cache. Turns out the the librarian who knows all about the cache was on holidays, and a few phone calls needed to be made. We were lucky, and were able to retrieve the cache. Nice cool cache - thanks for placing. SLTNLN. TFTC.

**This was 1 of 10 caches that was found by me on the 13th of 16 caching days here in Australia. Which also was the 50th of 75 days that my travels thru southeast Asia and Oceania would last.**

The outdoor part was found surprisingly quick. But then one of us, me, has exceptional good sight apparently Wink. And the indoor part was also an piece of cake. Mostly thanks to the helpful librarian that knew what we where looking for.
There was also a lot of strange writings on the whiteboards the students where using. It was like looking an D5 mystery cache description for me.

*Together with Ingabo, jsson and Sivun I would spend 16 days in Australia. Our journey started in Melbourne and ended in Sydney. After that I continued to New Zealand while the others headed back towards Melbourne.*
*All in all I did manage to find 263 caches, 9 types, 3 new months and many more statistical fillers.*

We, (jsson, peter-tvm, Sivun and myself) went for a trip to the outshirts of Sidney starting off in Wollongong. We logged as IJPS. A lovely sunshine day with some clouds and a light breeze.
Target for today was some of the old caches and caches with favourite points.
Peter-tvm found quickly what we could not spot in minutes. The rest was a walk in a park, sorry library.
Great idea and the FP is self-evident.
Thanks for placing a cache for me to enjoy and find.

I can see why this has so many fave points...and it's going to get another here. I have the same style cache in the library at my school, where I teach the art of geocaching within the school grounds.
As for this cache. I spent about 20 minutes looking for the "disc" but could not locate anything. I felt a bit weird crouching outside the building, but I did enjoy looking at the innards of that library.
AS previous log mentioned that they had the same issue as me and went inside and found some friendly staff. I think I found the same friendly staff. Both knew of the ache and a hint was given to me. Not an easy hint, but a hint all the same. The very last...
And there it was. Mine is a mint tin in a book called "Caching for Students bu Iyama Muggle."
And there was a trig atop the opposite building...where I had my lectures for linguistics all those years ago. TFTC

What a great idea for a cache and a good execution as well. I had heard of this idea many years ago, but this is actually the first one that I have found. Wp1 took longer then needed, and inside we had some alphabetical problems but all was very enjoyable

Located at 7:28pm. This Mystery is one of those caches I have looked at all the time but never dedicated the time to go for. I logged the Earth Cache nearby in February this year and decided this evening after work was the best time to approach this. I work nearby and the thought of all the traffic home prompted me to stay awhile and log this Mystery. I had studied and subsequently worked at Macquarie back when then old library was still in action and saw the construction of the new library. Quite the feat of engineering. I spent many hours studying in the old library, so many classic tomes there to pore over. As for the cache, I found the required information quite quickly and proceeded inside where after striding through the shelves I soon had CIH. Quite the unique sort of cache, and I can only imagine unsuspecting muggle students surprise if they happened to chance upon this cache . Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!

This was my first of three days in Sydney prior to hopping on a ship bound for Japan. I decided to aim for Australia’s oldest geocache plus a couple more nearby...

This was sort of nearby. And it was a non-traditional library cache...which I can never resist. I headed for the first waypoint and found nothing. I headed inside and did much better...with a lot of help from a duo of friendly librarians. Thanks for a great start to my day.

Found during the FIRST LEGO League Asia Pacific Invitational (international competition) with the Rogue Ev3ngers (incl. mustardkeenas) and our new American friends, Epsom Engineers.

A fantastic cache inside the wonderful library building - many thanks to the librarians who helped us find out way (and perhaps knew what we were looking for Wink).
Enjoyed by the kids and (possibly more so) by the parents!

Signed the log and left some badges.
