This one took a long time and no it's not a box. Due to my lack of coordination in retrieving and replacing record sheets in these containers I just coloured in the edge as my signature with a blue pen. Otherwise the sheet could end up unusable. Tftn thanks for bringing me to a nice spot.

Our 8224th overall find.

On this trip to town I thought I'd try something different and only find caches with 10 or more favorite points. I overcomlicated this one initially and was sitting watching the good looking muggles jog by when I spotted it, even then, it wasn't as simple as that! [:o)]

Thanks Dog-gone for the cache.

04-Feb-14
The wind was blowing very hard as I came out from the train station on an after work visit to your home territory.
Keeping up the stealth as joggers and vehicles past with little breaks between, the clever cache was found. I had to take extra care to make sure the wind didn't blow the log off into the never never. Thanks for bringing me to this wonderful spot, what a treat to live here!
Cheers

Glad i have FAV to give because this cache needs one...

14-Jan-14
Over in the west for orienteering this evening, not sure how smart that is because it's so hot. At least I get to chase the odd cache here and there.
Now that the fence is gone this was a lot easier to find. Found the object pretty quickly, just had to nut it out. Prize in hand I couldn't get the log out and so back to the car for some useful tools. Log signed and back in place.
Thanks for the cache Dog-gone

This one had us tricked. Checked all of the likely spots and nothing showed itself. Then after a random once over before we gave it in, something moved and there it was nicely camouflaged. TNLNSL. TFTC. KemS

Haha, I think Dima was fooled! I was able to pick out the container after a 5 minute search, and then a few minutes later I located the logbook. However it does need a bit of maintenance, the camo is starting to fall off.

Found pieces of container lying in open. No log.. Sad

Find 874 at 20:55. I was out with Burge tonight on a bit of a post August clean-up run. We both had plenty of gaps around the place so we thought it was a good opportunity to clear out as many as we could around Williamstown, South Melbourne and South Yarra. All in all it was a pretty speedy run and I managed to clock up 15 finds. This cache was on our hit list and was my third find for the evening. Finding the cache wasn't an issue but it's a toughie to get the cap off the container. So much so that I dropped it when it eventually came off and then had to spend 5 minutes searching in the dark before I could replace it!

Thanks for the cache, Dog-gone!

05-Sep-13
This one took Gunnie and me way too long to locate. We found a watch battery glued to metal railing and it appeared that this might have been a good, though way too muggly, cache location... but luckily, we did find the cache in the end. Glad I spotted something in a place Gunnie had searched before. Smile Lots of car traffic here, despite the late hour! TFTC. Nice one!

05-Sep-13
Lochb and I walked down the path from the end of the nearby road and arrived at GZ. The hunt was on and we searched a few areas to no avail. I spotted something and commented to Lochb that it looked like part of a container... BUT... I completely missed the cache that was within 6" of what I found... Twisted Off to search elsewhere, we ended back in that spot after a while and Lochb pulled the container from it's lair... OH EM GEE.... I was right there, how did I not see that... Surprised

So, with head hung low, I strolled over to etch my name in the log. Oops, sorry about that I said... Wink

A nice hide but it needs a touch up. The "top" had come away and is sitting near the cache.

Cheers Dog-gone.

27-Aug-13
After trying this once before at 6pm and not getting a break in the muggle traffic I decided to come passed this evening as I was picking up another cache for the August challenge. I was tempted to leave this for another night but I have done the math and I have enough other caches planned to complete the challenge still. This cache was interesting. On my first sweep of the area I didn't see it I don't how I missed it but I did. Starting again at what I thought gz was I spotted the cache straightaway. Very cool concept. Tftc Tnln sl

A quick wander over here from Fort Gellibrand and we set about looking for another tricky cache. We immediately spotted something which looked like a leftover from the Fort Gellibrand hide, so were worried when it turned out to be empty and cast aside. The clue didn't make a huge amount of sense to us but we poked around and very quickly ilovedrwho spotted something and made the hide. The force is strong with this one....

After returning we spotted some discarded metalwork which will make an excellent cache hide, so this was a very worthwhile visit!

TFTC.

The rain was threatening to be significant, so we hoped for a fairly quick stop here! We did get a few strange looks while signing in, fortunately no one was concerned enough to stop and ask if we needed help.

FEEDBACK TO CO:- Not sure that the DR of 1.5 does justice to this cache.

In the west again street orienteering and caching of course.
Had a quick look just on dusk but I suspect that this cache may be behind a construction fence.
I have emailed CO for clarification.

Found @ 11:53pm, find # 1981
Out on a bit of a Friday night run and if there are some Dog-gone caches on the radar, they must be looked at.
I wandered over from the previous cache find to this one and inbetween cars driving past I had a bit of a look around, shortly after I grabbed something that moved, i knew then that I had found the cache so out it came, oh no so fast I haven't quite got it yet and on closer inspection and investigation I was soon signing a very full log, I managed to squeeze my name in.
Once again another top hide.
Thanks to Dog-gone for this cache and all the caching fun.

Doing a walk arounf these dog-gone hides with kmace this afternoon and this was next. The description of the lighthouse was fascinating - especially how it was hit the Cerberus! Anyway, got to GZ and started the hunt and the clever cache was soon in hand, nicely done yet again. Thanks dog-gone and as two_drews noted, the log is very full, I was only able to put my initials right on the end.

02-Feb-13
Found this very clever cache today with Littlemerpip. Actually Littlemerpip discovered it and solved it. We then placed our initials only on the very full log and rehid the cache.

Thanks for the cache and the history Dog-gone - there would have had to have been some explaining to the St Kilda bakery!

Found other interesting bits and bobs that distracted me. I called the other Drew over to help me look when I accidentally put my hand on it. Awesome hide! I'm an admirer of your work Dog-gone.

Great story, location and hide, this ticks all the boxes for me so it gets my cache-of-the-day award, a favorite and a 4/5 score.

Dog gone has again made wonderfull work of what is available. B2 was really impressed yet again with the skill shown here. If it was not for the accuracy of the coordinates this is the sort of treasure that would be hidden forever. It is in the location that should last for many others to experience.

12-Jan-13
I really overthought this one, and contemplated all the ancillary equipment at GZ.
It was only after some wasted minutes that I expanded my thoughts, and found another clever hide here. Thanks again for the history, and another well hidden cache Dog-gone

It was rather busy here today with muggles so with great patience we were able to complete this cache and retrieve the log (hooray!) this area of the park was actually les busy than other areas, where New Years Day celebraters were enjoying the beautiful weather with a late afternoon picnic. Krazy K Krew on a Movember Cache Challenge
Other great spot along this coast, we park up past GZ and when we got out if the car the ice cream can was spotted. With ice creams in hand we headed to GZ, when arrived there was a few muggles close by so we sat down enjoyed our ice creams and watched a ship come in. It just got bigger bigger bigger as it came in the boys loved this, so first if all thanks for bringing us here to this spot. Next was the cache we had the place to ourselves so the search was on. I must say I had the cache in my hand more than once before I realized what I had... Very nice
Log was signed and returned to hiding place. Once again Dog-Gone TFTC Smile

This is a TOP quality hide - it will certainly be hard to beat. Thx DG for the Superb effort you put in your hides. Again it was the Geo- Gf who beat me to the hide. She managed to sniff it out as I focused my attention on another find of sorts.

This was no 1.5/1.5 for me; far too tricky. 3up dropped me at GZ to find the cache while he drove around. He returned and there was no smiley face. So, he found parking and fortunately he proved a lucky charm and I soon had the cache in hand. Very clever twist at the end! Thanks for the cache Dog-gone.

A DNF for me today - there was so much passing traffic, and I felt too suspicious loitering around the gas pipeline, so I gave up after a few minutes. I'll be back! Smile

After the rains and cold wind of the day it was a pleasure to wander down here at sunset before taking my daughter out to dinner. In second year uni, she chose pasta!
Quickly finding the cache I was not disappointed in the craftsmanship . But, once bitten, twice shy, and the log was signed in a forthright manner. A pleasure as always, Dog-gone, to find one of your caches! ( yes, I know, the Parrot. It's on the list. I need to do some Youtubing first.)
Thank you again to bringing me to a beautiful part of Melbourne. Thanks and cheers!

Found 11:55am , find # 1550
This morning I had breakfast with my old work mates, and afterwards spent some time caching in the Williamstown and Altona area.
Since there's no parking here, I parked near the next cache I was going to do and walked back.
I immediately found the decoy cache. Hmmm, strange.
Then I found a button type battery glued to the back of a sign, stranger still.
Finally it all made sense, well, some it made sense, enough of it to enable me to find the real cache.
Can't say too much really except that I'm beginning to see an MO emerge with these Dog-gone cache materials.
Thanks for a neat, tricky cache.
Thanks Dog-gone,

Found @1700 #1919
Was over this side of Melbourne only a few weeks ago and was keen to get back but this time was keen to focus on the region of Altona heading east towards Williamstown along the coast. Was really impressed with the cache quality seen today, with some outstanding work seen. At times it look like it may rain but it held off for most of the day with rain only falling when it was time to head back. A really lovely part of Melbourne which was first for me.

Having found a few Dog-gone caches today I was alot more suspecious and found this one quicker then I think I would of if I hadn't already found some earlier in the day. A nice walkway and peacful area too. Really impressive work on this one. TFTC Dog-gone

Found on a Saturday trip to Williamstown, to be filled with geocaching and photography in the company of S 4 Sammy

Sam made the quick find of a container and proudly exclaimed that she had found it, then she quickly realized she had found a decoy, after thinking about it for a while she went searching again, and I had an idea and I made the actual find

Heading to Werribbe to catch up with friends for dinner and with both team members being able to organise a day off work we decided to make the most of it and head off early and pick up a few caches along the way. This was another very interesting cache page, it must have been quite a lonely job especially if you stuck at it for seventeen years. It seems quite ironic that the one thing that the lighthouse was put there to save turned out to be it's destroyer. There were very few muggles around today and we were able to locate the hide with no problems but it did take us a few minutes to sort out how we were going to sign the log but we are happy to say that our name is now in there.
Thanks again Dog -gone, another favourite from us.

13-Sep-12
Found by Mary & David at 1540. Only a short walk from where we parked in Railway Tce. Spotted something not quite right on arrival, which proved to be the cache. It reminded us a little of another of your caches a few km away. Enjoyed the potted history too. Our thanks to Dog-gone.

#2736
This one took far longer than expected mainly because I'd seen a torn zip lock bag and a few fragments of paper and feared the worse. But the gps kept pointing me away from the area but still no success.
A quick perusal of the logs for clues and I spotted the "magnet" decoy so I knew I was in the right area.

A re-examination of the locale soon highlighted something not quite right and part one was soon in hand, shortly followed by the cunning part two (now the hint made sense)

Signed and replaced I took a wander down to the beach and tried to imagine what the lighthouse would have looked like.

Thanks for the history and thanks for the cunning cache.

I had an excursion to Science works today, this gave me three hours to graba few caches, the hardest part was parking the bus, once I had the bus parked I got my bike out from underneath to do the caches in this area. I enjoyed reading the history on the cache page, i like the twist in this cache.
