Coincidentally when I received the notification that this was being disabled I happened to be on my way to the Cathedral to listen to a recital so I did some surveillance activities.

Definitely some drastic cutting back has occurred here, not sure how much is storm damage and how much human intervention. GZ is now a lot more exposed and needs a good tidy up.

I am familiar with the cache having found it some time ago and couldn't see any sign of it amongst the debris so looks like it is indeed missing.

Followed the GPSr to the coords, right beside what I presume to be the hint object. It looks as though some maintenance has been performed here very recently - there is sawdust visible on the hint item, which would surely be blown away by the wind after a few days in Wellington. Entirely possible that I was at the wrong hint item, but I recommend that the CO takes a look at this one if they are passing by.

No luck for us today, lots of rubbish in the undergrowth sadly. Gentle stream of cars in and out of carpark but generally not too muggle dense. Will have to come back another day.

During our Sabbatical trip we visited Wellington as well and found this one beside our sightseeing tour today. It was another easy grab and log this time ...still we had fantastic weather conditions and a very quiet nice Christmas city walk!

It was past dark by the time I reached this cache. Fortunately I manged to put my hand on the cache almost straight away even though I couldn't see it. The cache was wet it log was only damp and good enough to sign. TFTC.

Found a while a go when out with NZ1 but couldn't retrieve that day due to a market in the carpark.
This mornings rain is keeping most people indoors and carpark empty so took the opportunity to sign the log. Cache in good order. CO - Be aware that garden waste is being dumped in this area so may make it a challenge to find over time. TFTC.

Family fun day in Wellington....a day visit from Christchurch (cheap flights) & the boys first plane ride. We were supposed to come last Monday but the earthquake put pay to that! Rescheduled for today. Not too much time for caching but we were in the area checking out The Beehive...starting to rain, easy enough to swing past for the quick find and sign. Nice one.

Last time we were in New Zealand and spend our holiday on the Northern Island – that was fantastic!
We landed in Wellington and from this great town we went through the island – we were near Mt. Taranaki, in the Tongariro Nationalpark, on Lake Taupo, in two Thermal Areas, in Rotorua, on Coromandel Peninsula, on the Bay of Islands, on the Ninety Mile Beach, in the Sand Dunes, on Cape Reinga and in Auckland.
All the time we visited there the main attractions – but we wanted to do our hobby (geocaching), too.
So we looked for the boxes next to the highways and on all the wonderful places of this very nice Island.
Here we could found the box very well, we say thanks to the owner and thanks for the cache.

An easy find but lots of people around on a Friday lunchtime made it difficult to pick up. Took it away to a quiet spot to write in the log.

A few weeks of waiting for the right moment, an early morning find on the way to work

We had a lovely 3 nights at Napier. All good things must come to an end. So we're heading back to Wellington to catch the morning ferry tomorrow.
We arrive in Wellington at about 5.30. Our motorhome overnight spot was not far from here. There weren't many muggles about so all was good.

I have come over to New Zealand from England because my sister lives here so we came here for a holiday. I had waited for GPS signal. And just outside the bee hive I got signal and I realised there one was nearby after GPS settled down it was way to locate

After a tour through the parliament and a visit of the Wellington Cathedral we could easily spot this cache and log it when nobody was watching. Thank you.

This was hard, a bunch of people were gardening in the area but after a short wait we had it! TFTC

Was on a cruise to visit lovely New Zealand from Brisbane Australia with NED_Q24. We wanted to try and find at least one cache at each port stop in between sightseeing. This is my first trip to New Zealand and I will definitely have to come back and explore in more detail. TFTC.
