Found a few caches today between Paeroa and our overnight stop at Waihi Beach, most of them in and around Waihi. Parked nearby and walked to this one and one other. It was a reasonably quick find. #5895. TFTC.
Wandering around town on foot l checked my mapping app and noticed this cache was just across the road from where I was standing. Only on a short visit from Australia so I hadn't bothered with mobile internet access but luckily the library has free wifi. Checked the cache details and crossed the highway to the park.
Took a couple of minutes before the cache was in hand. Signed the log and as I was getting the log back in the cache a couple who were walking their dog passed by. Now this is going to sound strange bit I am sure I heard one of them say: "something, something at the cache". OK, maybe I was dreaming, maybe I heard wrong. Unsure if I had heard right I just smiled and carried on with putting the cache back.

Day 3 of our holiday and in between Beach Hop activities I am out on some caching adventures with trayc.g TFTC
We have been caching in Whangamata/Whititoa and now we are in Waihi killing another hour or so before we head back to the Beach Hop festivities and dinner. A quick find by GigiEV. TFTC
Todays plan was to come to Waihi do some adventure labs and the walk around the mine collecting any of the other caches we passed and beat our most caches found in one day.
A rather wet morning but we brought out our umbrellas gathered some information for the adventure labs and made some finds.
Stopped off at this nice little park and made a quick find.

Glad to have my hands on this quickly as muggles driving past as all out in the open. nice wee park to visit thx.
Couldn't see any wallnuts today, but I could see a cache looming around here. Quite a nice little pocket-park considering the busy road a few metres away! I got way too down and dirty for this one and spent way too long looking in the wrong spots before eventually realising my mistake and happily picking up the cache. Thanks willbuild... again!
Having a holiday in Waihi Beach with my sister and grandparents, but we were in need of a few groceries, so we popped in to New World in the town and this was the perfect excuse to wander off and find a couple caches It was pitch-black being 7:30pm, and absolutely freezing, but nothing stops me from geocaching. Thanks to willbuild and tryfyn for their hides!

Nice wee park to stop for a rest in the shade. The sign says best viewed at night with the lights but unfortunately its far from night time haha.
Thanks for the cache, we needed pliers to open but it should be looser for the next finder to open.

Found this one quickly, but the top was jammed on the cache, no way I could get it off to sign log. So photo of proof of find
Having been in Hamilton for the night it's now time to make my way (the long way) back towards Wellington. Stopped here for a quick find, safe and dry. TFTC
Sorry for the late log. Stopped here on my way through town to look at the water feature. A cute spot. Quick find. TFTC <3
TFTC found it with my 4 year old on our way back from the beach while we waited for pizza. Neat little cache
Stopped here for a quick look to show the kids how the gold pouring worked. I took the opportunity to find the cache.
Visiting from Auckland, did the rim walk then stopped here. Drove past last night, the water feature is lit very nicely. Today needed a seat after the walk, soon found. Signed and rehid. TFTC
Decided to to stop here as I was in the area. I drive past regularly, but had never noticed to water feature before.. a lovely wee park.
Thanks for the cache.

Mr. Kiwi was on his way home after a business trip in Tauranga. To help while away the time and make sure that he actually had some stops along the way, caching in various towns was called for. Just a quick cache.
Upon coming into Wahi, Mr. Kiwi pulled over and pulled out his phone to find a cache on his route. This one was the once chosen as it wasn't far from where he had pulled over. Off he went and found a park behind the park. He possibly shouldn't have parked there as there was someone waiting for that particular park when he got back, and it was next to the back door of a business.
Anyway, the cache was soon found and the log signed. The cache was then replaced and Mr. Kiwi walked off thinking about where the next cache would be.

On our way north to Whitianga to do the TMGT caches. First stop was Tuapiro to check our caches, then on to Waihi because there are a few new ones around the area. Mrs S found this one while Mr S was parking the camper. Would be great to see at night with the coloured lighting.
Thanks willbuild.

Found it with Katbowersnz. Just before lockdown happened. Who knew eh! Lost the pen early in the piece. She has the photographic evidence
#875 - 26/07/20 (Only logging now in July, We found all of these before lockdown, but completely forgot to log them!)
14/03/20 - On a Mission to log as many caches in Waihi as we can! 1st cache of the day nice and early getting this one, no one around. made it a tad easier to find TFTC

The others were doing the groceries so I quickly ducked off and got this one.

On our way to visit friends in Golden Valley, after collecting supplies, we had a go at this cache. Unfortunately, someone was sitting on the likely spot, so, after they showed no intention of leaving anytime soon, we abandoned the attempt. Had another crack at it just before midnight on our way back, and, with no-one about, it was easily found. The water feature really does look good at night.
Oh my goodness - we found this at dusk. How Beautiful! Gotta award a coveted Favorite Point for choice of location, location, LOCATION! What a stunning fountain!
A beautiful day down here in Waihi, blue sky everywhere and the sun starting to warm the day up. Cache #5 for the morning. I think Banana Pepper should be open now for a coffee
We were in the area over Labour weekend to up our numbers for the year. Caching today with Stik-a-crane, purply, darthcacher1, eir-ot - logs signed as SEAC Labour or similar to save space on the logs (SEAC are a group of cachers from South and East Auckland who often take caching adventures together). Interesting history behind the name of this wee park, and the sculpture here looked glorious in the half light as the sun was going down. A nice quick find here
Down for the day caching the area with a group, consisting of HeMaLuDy, EIR-0T, Darthcacher1, and Purply.
Given we were a group we logged in as SEAC Labour, or SEAC Labour day to save logbook space.
Picking up the last few drive-by caches in the area.
Thanks for bringing us here.

Staying in Waihi for the weekend with Merlot58 and Supernanny, collecting caches for the Mystery at the Museum souvenir. It was getting on for dusk and as we waited for our takeaways we had time to collect a c couple of caches. No problems finding this one and signing ourselves in on the log. We stopped and admired the lit up water feature in the park before heading off.
In Waihi for the weekend with Supernanny and Jag50. Love the nearby water feature, it was just on dusk so was lit up and we spent some time admiring it
We parked nearby and as we arrived the fire siren was going off, volunteer firefighters were arriving at speed and excited members of the public were coming out to watch.
As we walked to GZ the fire engine sped off towards the emergency and peace returned to the area.
We sat down to recover from all the excitement and, of course, to sign the log.
Nice little park, thanks willbuild for bringing us here.

It certainly helps to have a dog when you're fiddling about trying to find a cache in a very public spot! She's only a pup and we're still training her not to eat them though! Just managed to squeeze the date and "RW" on the log, which is full. We pass by here often, as we live in town, so if the CO would like us to replace it for them we'd be happy to do so.
On a road trip north, enjoying the day and pic up some caches. TFTC

I'm from Switzerland and spend 4 months in New Zealand on vacation. Found this cache after a few minutes search, thanks.
