A beautiful spot for a cache and also a great spot for a rest. I had driven over from Wairarapa today to start collecting some Climie caches (as it seems Wellington cachers are making all the FTFs in the Wairarapa this week). I arrived at the car park below just as the rain began to fall. After waiting it out in the brief company of a large Cookie Time biscuit the rain eased and it was time to get out of the car and get started. The brief rain had left the air super muggy and by the time I got to this cache I was sweating buckets, despite not exactly racing up the hill. This cache was very wet inside, but fortunately the log was fine, so signed and returned. Now, back to that climb. TFTC Yeetrees
I came to Tunnel Gully to climb Mt Climie and hunt for some caches. It was my first time up Mt Climie and I had a very successful but tiring day! A quick easy find here. Unfortunately the cache was very wet. I poured a whole lot of water out of the outer container which doesn't seem to be sealing very well. Water had somehow gotten into the inner container as well and the log book was wet and I was unable to sign it. I've added a small strip of waterproof paper to the inner container and signed that instead. Picked up the trackable that was in the cache. TFTC
We did a bit of roaming here before this one just about jumped out and bit us on the foot as we were about to walk past it.
thanks for the placement and the smiley.

Out with Watcache today as we are biking up Mt Climie we stopped for this one on the way up as the Terrain had leveled off
Not an easy find as we didnt expect to see it out in the open

Today I had been invited along to meet up with some fellow Cachers to try to do the Mt Climie trail in Upper Hutt. I had a certain amount of trepidation, as it was supposed to be a fairly decent climb to the summit, and we were not sure whether we would be able to complete it due to both time constraints and the fact that we had Gale Force winds forecast for the afternoon!
So as a group of 4 adults and 2 dogs, off we set. As it turned out, whilst the gale was certainly doing it's best to blow the trees over, the trees were providing us with great cover so that we hardly felt a thing for most of the climb.
Only when we were exposed to the elements, at the higher points of the track, did we have some fun and games with the wind!
The GPS was pointing me to a patch of bush where I guess there was a second track although I can understand why it is not recommended that you bike down it. It took a minute or two of searching through the undergrowth before I stumbled upon the hidden cache. A quick sign of the log, replaced as found, and then back to the upwards slog towards the next cache.
Having just placed my first Cache this week, I have an even greater appreciation of what is required to put caches out in the field for all of us to find, and once placed maintain them. So a huge thanks from me for your efforts in placing this one.

Last one for me today after doing the Climie Loop Track in the rain Luckily it stopped as I came out at the top of the access road so I could do the power trail back down the hill TFTC
So my goal was to get up mt Climie, hubby was just trying to get as far as he could not being a hiker and pushing his bike.
we arrived around lunch time and started the weather was hot with hardly any breeze so shady spots were very welcome by hubby who found the walk hard going, we managed to get roughly 2.4km I think before hubby had, had enough and wanted to head back. So I will be back to finish the rest, thanks for taking the time to place the caches and bring us here. sorry about the copy and post logs

Going for a walk up Mt Climie today. The walk up was relentless but a good track. Worst part was the heat today at 31 degrees and no breeze or cover at the time. This was a quick find. Everything in order. TFTC

19 November 2017 17:02. Tftc, signs don't apply to geocachers surely? Easily located.
My 2017 birthday geocaching adventure! 8.5 hours of walking and geocaching, 21 finds, 2 DNFs, one very tired dog, and one exhausted human. Was pretty good haul for one day. Got all the way to 'It Can Be Done!' - didn't have the appetite to go beyond that. Weather was generally pretty good, although quite changeable. Views from the top were stunning. A great day's geocaching!
Straight forward find. Liked the double container - good way to keep things dry in this environment. TFTC.

Tararua Girl had organised a hike up Mt Climie with the Tararua Tramping Club and invited me along as the "geocaching expert" of the group. By the time I had caught up with the group the cache was already found (apparently it was sitting open exposed - chanced upon by some muggle?). Signed and returned with plenty of cover. TFTC
Ignored the track closed sign and took a few steps down Tane's Track to GZ. The hiding place was easy to find, signed the log and placed it back well covered. As I left I turned back to see half the cache poking out the bottom , maybe the hiding place was a bit shorter than I thought! After some adjustments the cache is safe and sound.
The coords led me directly to a well chosen hide with barely a search let alone a hint required. TFTC on this great track.
Nice quick find and a good chance for a wee rest break at the same time. Very peaceful spot this - thanks for bringing us here.
TFTC - Beautiful day and Mt Climie has always been a place I have wanted to go to. Didnt get all the caches I wanted but had an awesome day
Had the day off work, and decided to go for a walk up Mount Climie - both for a bit of fitness, and also to grab a bunch of caches. Fantastic day for the walk. Quick find. *TFTC Yeetrees #134*
Again found this one with friends, and only logging it digitally now. it was a sunny day that turned cold at the top of climbie. tftc.
A weekend in Wellington and so a walk with Cache.Mike is on the agenda. This means a walk up a big hill for him and plenty of caches for me so this area was a good choice.
We overran this one by just a few metres but CM was soon onto the hide.
Thanks Yeetrees for the cache.

A day walk out with Kiwiexplorer and we found plenty of caches, some of them along the way, some after bush bashing or extrem bush bashing - but those were my favourites of the day! Thanks for all the caches [^] Sorry for the copy / paste logs [:/]

Optimistically, I'd planned on finding pretty much ALL the caches on the Mt Climie route, but I had seriously underestimated the effort required to get up the hill and my muggle companion's tolerance for my indulging my geeky hobby, so, in the end, I found just two caches. This was the first ... nice and easy. Unlike the climb! But I'll be back as I need to get fit ahead of doing the Abel Tasman in October and Mt Climie really is a gut-buster. TFTC!
Collected as part of a whole lot of caches on the way to Mt Climie on a sunny but slightly nippy winter's day.
Thought I'd have a crack at Mt Climie today... Foolish foolish idea! This is where I got to before piking out and turning back! Thanks for the cache and a nice wee marker of my success
Two days ago I attended the very nice CITO on Mana Island Meeting a lot of lovely People. And I recieved the hint to hike at Mt. Climie. Good idea, here I am! Even the weather wasn't good today (a Little bit rainy) it was a very nice (and easy) hike garnished with a lot of nice Caches. I really enjoyed the day, but near the sumnit bad weather appeared with strong wind and cold rain. So I was quite wet when I was back and I missed the Caches in the outback behind the sumnit, because I don't want to go there without any sight. But that's live, I don't care.
It was a great day and many thanks to every owner for all the nice Caches.

Another find out with eidesor today climbing Mt Climie. Perfect day for it; TFTC!
Hi, TFTC! Got into caching whilst visiting friends in NZ, coming from Norway, and has been great so far
Found with NZ1 while out on a morning walk. No problems finding cache as hint very good. GLAD to have this one, TFTC.
We walked up Mt Climie Rd and went down Tanes track. It is a long time since we have been on a "tramping" track with mud, markers, steep descents and tree roots. These days we usually walk on upgraded, metre wide,"Lambton Quay" style tracks.

Took another rest here out of the sun. The way the morning sun came thru the trees it settled right on the cache. It shone and was easily seen. Signed in then off I go up n' up n' up....
Replaced the logbook and placed another container inside to protect the logbook a bit more
Please replace as found and make sure that the lids are close correctly

Cache # 2,688 - a big day out with Crystal Fairy as we climb Mt Climie and beyond. Did this cache along the way. Nice to find a decent sized cache. Dropped in a TB. TFTC!
Decided to climb Mt Climie today with Wandering Dragons. Was an absolutely beautiful day and quite a slog up the mountain. Views from the top were amazing being able to see as far as the South Island, Kapiti Island and even the Wairarapa along with Magnificent views of Upper Hutt. Most of the caches were easy finds, but some took a little longer as the vegetation has grown quite a bit. Thanks for the cache
Knowing the CO's sense of adventure and mischief, and with the abundance of hint objects, I felt sure it would involve a fight through all the supplejack to claim this prize. How wrong I was to misunderestimate the Master [^]. Could have been a much quicker stop than it was. TFTC (I think!)
We were quite glad of a chance for a break here. Time to take off some of those layers of clothes!!!
Found the cache without any problems. Left a pet rock - a crab. TFTC Yeetrees

Opportunity grab on the way to an SLM cache. Bumped into the CO checking this cache also.

#948. Heading up Mt Climie today to finish off the power trail. Well this one was a mystery. If you don't believe in Leprechauns you might after reading this log! Hard to believe what happened here. I approached the GZ and saw the turnoff to Tane's Track heading off downhill. Headed into the bush to search for the cache. A prominent feature by the path looked promising and gave it a thorough search but no luck. Started searching other nearby sites including uncovering a pile of juice containers filled with dark fluid. Decided not to open these up. Kept looking without success. Then I heard a muggle walking up the road and so hid behind the trees and watched him go past uphill. Kept looking for another 5 minutes and decided I had better flag it and get going. As I came out onto the road, there in the middle of the road directly out from the track turnoff was the cache container!!!!! Still had the logbook in it. It wasn't there before I headed into the bush. I only saw the one muggle go past and I didn't see him drop anything off. So how on earth did the cache end up on the road???? Well, I signed the log and placed the container under an old log about 10m down Tane's Track. That seemed closed to the GZ on my GPS. Clearly the cache title is wrong. This cache has been a roaming. TFTC
Found quickly enough with LCBuilder on our way to the top of Mt Climbie, TFTC
A quick find with TregearP doing this Power Trail in what started out in fine weather and finished up with a torrential down pour.

Walked up Mt Climie with tmann421 today. The weather was really hot. Quite a haul up to this first one and a bit of a search until tmann pointed out the obvious hint. Container in good order.

This was to be our third and last cache for the day, walking from home to Tane's Track, up the steep bush track to this cache, then back down the 4WD track to Tunnel Gulley and then the long trek back home. I have passed by the track intersection here only once before during caching days, leaving this cache to look for on a day when we were actually walking on the bush track. That was today. Having easily found 'Muddy Boots' at the other end of the track we proceeded uphill. We soon got our boots muddy. I knew this one was close to the intersection and as I approached could see the cache nestled in what was an obvious location to hide a cache. After signing the log I rehid it with a little more cover than before so it wasn't quite so exposed to anyone heading uphill.
Thanks for the cache Yeetrees and I like the hint for this one .

Out caching with kiwimudgie on an overcast day. The weather cleared enough for us to appreciate the amazing views offered on the climb to the top.
Thanks for the cache Yeetrees

Found with Emvy_us and McTees while on an afternoon walk up the Mt Climie track. TFTC, #6229
An enjoyable walk to Climie today with McTees and Waiiti20. Great views - and some weary crew members at the end! TFTC
Easy cache on my start up the hill. Some 60+ runners were making their way down the hill as I logged the find. Wow! TFTC
#5111. Found on the walk down from Mt Climie. GPS was wandering a lot once off the Mt Climie Track. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Quickly found on the way up the hill for a prolonged day out caching. No problems with the cache or contents, in good condition. TFTC
The track has had some recent maintenance and is fine for walkers, apart from being steep and muddy. TFTC.
Our first find on the climb up Mt Climie. We used the hint as there were lots of possible hiding places and we didn't want to linger too long.
We picked a great day for our walk, mostly sunny for great views but it was not too hot as we toiled uphill. Many thanks to all the cachers who have placed the wealth of caches along the way.

#5134. We took the Mt Climie track route; nice bit of bush. On the way down we took Tanes Track, and found that it was a big neglected, a not so good for walkers (let alone mountain bikers!). TFTC.
Found during a walk to the top of Mt Climie, good day out. Rained at the top, a must for the region. TFTC
Waitangi Day caching. Nothing better. Bagging caches around Rimutaka Tunnel, Gully and Mt Climie.
Enjoyed a great series of caches of which this was one.
Straightforward find, cache in order, log signed; cache safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!
