We are on holidays from Mount Gambier, SA & today we adventured of to do some caches close by. Quick & easy find today. TFTC
Doing part of this power trail on a lovely warm winter's day. No need for a stick when you have a bull bar to stand on. TFTC.
It was time to get on the pushbikes and see how many caches we could find along the bike trail. A nice warm sunny winter's day made for a very pleasant few hours riding along the riverside path.
Thanks Champs2Monkeys.
Thanks Champs2Monkeys.

Another very warm winter day to find a few more caches around townsville.
Today was the day for a bike ride along the RRPT.
I put the bike to extra use and managed to locate it fairly quickly.
Cheers from Wagga Wagga in the Riverina, NSW.

Find #218
So, I decided to go for a drive this weekend.
Headed out from Mackay on Saturday and headed for Clermont.
Not enough so went to Charters Towers and stayed the night.
Done a few caches in Charters and then headed for Townsville.
Stayed the night and headed home on Monday.
Glad it was a long weekend.
I didn't sign the log as I would have looked very strange retrieving and returning the cache.
If the CO wants proof of find, I can describe the location of the cache.

10:39:00 AM. We set out today for numbers. We bought our bikes and it turns out the weather is perfect for a ride and caching. Another quick ride by. Found and signed. Thanks Champs2Monkeys for placing this cache.
Found it but caching alone and could not reach it down. Heaps of traffic too. Will have to sign on a quieter day.
Lucky I am well over 6" tall. I don't need a stick. Nice hide
Today I undertook a personal challenge to find 24 caches in 24 hours in and around the Townsville and Ingham area. On such a lovely spring day I was lucky enough to find not only 24 caches but to explore this lovely part of Australia. I would like to mention the abundant wild life including wallabies, butterflies (too many varieties to mention), dragon flies, crocodiles, kangaroos, some kind of ant and I will call a green ass ant (they seem to swarm all over you and bite, not hard or with any venom but the numbers WOW or should I say WOE), dogs and an interesting creature I will call a “North Queenslander”. Many thanks to you guys sometimes pointing me in the right direction but most of all for being good guys.

Champs2Monkeys are heading south, and as such can not maintain this cache.
^dventurers has kindly offered to maintain this cache on our behalf. C+2M are very appreciative for her help and will maintain a supply of replacement caches and stores.
Those that have contacted us to also offer help, I thank you for the offer, but ^dventurers beat you to it. I passed your names to ^dventurers and she will reach out to you if she needs assistance in maintaining this cache.
To all the Townsville Cachers, thank you for the hunt, and if you’re in the ACT, look us up.
Cheers

Found it straight away, just could not reach it without jumping as high as possible to flick it off and then finding that the log is full. Did not sign as there was just no room. Managed to replace as found.

Found this one earlier in the day but just could not reach, so waited till Geo-daughter finished work and coaxed her into assisting me to grab it....
Out grabbing a few more caches along the Ross River today. At 194cm in height, I had to problems reaching this cache. TFTC C2M. SL {#358}.
TFTC Champs2Monkeys. Found with Bob while out on a Sunday walk along the Ross River. We decided to do a bit of geocaching on the way plus it had been a while since we found any of the local caches. Nice easy finds today SL TN LN and RTC with perfect weather and very few muggles in sight. [^]
North Qld 2013. Day 9 was my first full day in Townsville and today was the day to hit the Ross River Power trail. After fixing my bike up, I set out and visited a large range of caches along the river. It was a good range of caches some easy, some hard. I did not do them all but enjoyed everything I managed. . Thanks.

Our second day out caching with pprass.
We took the bikes to do another section of the RRPT trail.
Lucky we had the bikes with us, so we had something to stand, on to reach this little blighter.
Thanks for the cache, Champs2Monkeys.

Found at 12:25 PM in the company of The Drovers GAFF5. The ride along this stretch was quite interesting with the mountain on the side lit by the sun. Very interesting and pleasant ride. We normally try to work out the names of the caches, but in this instance just could not get it.
Thanks Champs2Monkeys.
Thanks Champs2Monkeys.
When I found this one today it was on the ground at base. Tried to put back, but don't know where it was originally, plus I'm short and geohound was no help, sorry. Might be worth a maintenance visit so it doesn't get muggled....think I know what the champs will be up to this weekend!
If you are short take a taller person with you or park your car at GZ and use the car to reach cache, which is what we did, signed and replaced. TFTC
Thre the older geo ferret (who found it) at the the critter. he grabbed it and landed on all fours. (Works with more than just cats). SL TFTC
Found it easy but there was alot of traffic around, they must of thought I was a bit mad jumping around.

After yesterday's Straya Day event we felt the need to get out and do a few more than the single Townsville cache we have already done.
Electing to leave the gCAV at home we made an early start on the geoTreadlies, but not early enough to beat the humidity!
geoD didn't even need to dismount to make the find. Normally geoP is the one to make the find on these nasty little suckers!

Why should you be scared of the number 7[?] Well Pagan had a monkey on hand but monkeys can make tools too - guess which option this monkey chose . Thanks Champs2Monkeys
It's probably because english is my second language, but I didn't get the cache title at all?
Found it anyway

Decided to carry on to the furthest cache as it looked like the heavens would open
Arrived to GZ and had to use a natural tool to retrieve and replace the cache in its exact spot.
Thanks for the Clever hide if Bear was here it would of made grabbing this cache a lot easier.
Appreciate your RRPT

I was sure I had logged this one! Maybe not...
Being tall helped with this one as I had no tools. I could just grab it! Geo-bro would have had a tough time without some caching kit assistance.

I decided to do a few RRPT's today and parked the car not 10 m from this cache and didnt know it when I parked. TFTC.
We started the RRPT trail with this cache purely because we had parked across the road.
Spot the GZ as we crossed the road and after a bit of a stretch, soon had the cache in hand.
Now, of to the next in the series.

Found with my 2 daughters and future son in law - think we might have a few converts here! Tftc
Came back today to try and finish off the RRPT series of caches.
Found most but one DNF and one that is yet to be searched for still illude me.
I am determined to get this series nailed in the coming weeks.
Another tricky one today given the amount of traffic on the road.
Managed to park 1m from GZ and had to make a leap for the cache in between cars.
Again my pen was not the ideal choice and smudged on the log sheet but my name is there, promise.
Cheers and happy caching.

I was attempting a night time smash of the area while up from Victoria, but was relegated due to time constraints to the park'n'grabs. A moderately successful night, and home in time for the start of the F1 race
Thanks for the caches, and the series that I'd love to finish before I head home.

The lawn mower was exactly at GZ as I walked along so I had to leave this one until my return walk. But then, there were 2 new council worked whipper snipping the posts at GZ! A bit of patience and they slowly worked their way down the road with their backs to me.
I didn't have a handy monkey so I had come armed with a stick. But it turned out I needed an even longer stick! A bit of a search around and I managed to get the cache, sign and return it. I've left the stick lying nearby for anyone who somes by soon

Lucky im tall! A hoon yelled out the window of his car whilst on his mobile phone 'Dont touch that!' I dont think he would know about Geocaching. Quick find.

Normally I wouldn't be equipped for this but it just so happened today I had some additional tools in the car which made retrieval possible if not easy. Even trickier to put it back. Was the afternoon peak but who could care what I was doing?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Our forty- sixth day of our honeymoon to New Zealand and Australia.
This morning we left around 8.30 AM the Alligator Creek Road House rest area for some caching in Townsville Along the way to the power trail we saw the military training area and the copper factory. We parked our camper van at the Loam Island Boat ramp and walked first South. After finding all caches except one, we returned along the road which was much less amusing then the walk along the river side. As we had parked our camper in the middle we continued our walk along the road to the rest of the caches of the RRPT and after finding the last one, we crossed the road to get an ice cream at the fuel station, as it was hot today. After being back at the car we went to the north to do some multi caches and looked at an African festival. After that we visited some solved mysteries and before returning to the Alligator Creek Road House rest area we visited the Coles to do the shopping for the last week. Now we are using the power supply at the rest area for logging our finds. In our geocaching career we never found a cache on June 16, but today we managed to do some.
We found this cache today at 11.25 AM local time.
While walking to ground zero we spotted already the nano cache and with a big jump it was easy for us to get it. While Jo* searched for a branch to put it back, *Ba logged it and after logging we put it back on a high level with the help of the branch, which we took also away.

Diabolical hide, out of reach, but used a stick and that made it easy to retrieve and return into position! TFTC
Guessed the site but no way to reach, recruited eldest geokid to shimmy up the pole to retrieve and replace! Sl tftc
Went back later in the day to collect the prize but alas the insane. cache. posse had struck again. Don't mind being second to them.
a quick lunchtime road trip , no smartphone logs[:(!] yet so we figured this one was still fresh. a quick park and grab was followed by taking the beast for a drive as some council workers appeared in utes nearby. returned cache to it's spot ,same drive-by style.sl.tftc. oh we figured right FTF
Checked out GZ this morning peak hour traffic. Figured where the little sucker is located. Will try for FTF later.
