What a beautiful forest, nothing like back in the Netherlands. James and I were searching for this cache but couldn't find it, probably because of the missing bridge. We gave up eventually and walked back towards the truck and then spotted a box on the picnic table, turned up to be the geocache.
Logged and a bit surprised to find it, we decided to hide it back near the coordinates. A photo will be send to the owner of the GC that shows the hiding spot. Thanks for the cache!

This was a group of caches that we kept putting on a back burner until I felt like doing the walk to get them (me being a basically lazy person). Today we headed out to grab them and fill another spot on our D/T graph.
My second geocache, but first non-premium. I found this with Granny aka Saffron Lady and SHaggis. Very excited. TFTC
With a souvenir up for grabs for finding a puzzle cache, a day on duty on Sunday preventing any potential road trips on that day and there being no local puzzles to solve, or find, on my side of the hill there was likely to be only one outcome; yet another trip over the Whangamoas for a Nelson caching raid. All this was tied up with a weather prediction of better weather in Nelson than Blenheim (for once) so a trip was planned. mrs capperz and nightowl desired some retail therapy with a double tap of Nelson C B D, followed by the now obligatory Richmond Mall visit. All that means is I get to drop them off at each location and cache around the vicinity. Nice.
Probably our last trip over this way for a couple of months with our impending trip overseas now just over 2 weeks away. Excited!
Having collected my girl passengers and deposited them at the Mall, I had 3 hours of caching to be getting on with so a decision to clear out the banks of the Wairoa river followed by a trip up Eves Valley seemed to be just what would fill in the time nicely.
Nice and easy here though cool and damp around after recent rain. Found a bonus pen on the floor at G Z so C I T O'd it

Found with Night-Elle, Log was super wet so we didn't sign, brilliant scenery all round though
Missy 5 yr old got this one quickly. Thanks for the cache in a beautiful hidden forest.
While we were in the area we decided we might as well do this relatively easy one. Did not have the time to do the others in this lovely little reserve. Nice quiet walk to GZ and Mr S made the find. Lots of tui around.
Thanks Sidewaze. One more smilie face on our SI caching trip.

We came here to explore shortly after we arrived in NZ around 5 years back but DOC and the local community have certainly spruced up the area in the meantime making it a nice place to visit.
Off the beaten track a little, there was no one in sight meaning I was able to enjoy the lovely bush walk and bird song, oh and cache finding completely uninterrupted.
I found quickly Bridget and she soon gave up the cache che was hiding.
Thanks for the hide.

I wasn't planning to do any geocaching today, but found myself (totally by chance) coming across this one! I guess that happens sometimes! Great little bush walk. A bit of a hidden gem, if you ask me. tftc
As I was in the area signing off mystery caches it would have been rude not to seek this cache out. Quickly spotted the cache for a rapid signing. TFTC.
We weren't too sure what to expect with the reserve, but it was a very pleasant walk this afternoon. We are glad we did it in the summer as I expect it to be a little more tricky in wetter months.
Interesting the way the loop walk had various exits along the way, so the walk can be as short as 10 minutes max or the 30 minutes for the whole track. Of course, the caches placed along the walk meant we did the whole track.
Cache was a quick find here then off to the next one. TFTC.

#9175. Reception was a bit dodgy, but the GPSr was on the money, and the cache was quickly spotted. Nice hide. TFTC.
Found with Just-Lookin on a short geocaching trip around the top of the South Island.
Appreciate the effort geocache placers have put in to show us the area.
Quickly found here.
SL (LOG WET) Thanks for the fun!

DNF. Had the time after work tonight to try and tidy up a few caches on this area. This was going to be the first find while doing the Reserve trail however spent too long looking and decided to leave the series for another time. Found a nice little pile of stones under the feature that looked hopeful but nothing there.
We got here on our big day out and found the GPS wasn't working so well here but we found the cache from the cache name and a bit of scrambling around. Have never been here before. What a magical spot and we have decided to come back for a family picnic sometime soon. Thanks for another one today Sidewaze!
We loved this nice little reserve and the stroll around. Met a man, with his young son and their dog on the walk. Turns out the boy, is a keen treasure hunter who is fascinated by treasure maps (he makes his own). We told them about caching and how it's top secret - he was beside himself with excitement and asked to join us finding the last cache. His face was a picture ! His Dad liked the idea too so I think you may have two new local cachers.
Thanks to Sidewaze for these great caches.

Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
On a drive from Christchurch to Nelson today, picking up a few caches along the way. After a short walk, the cache was soon found. Looks like a DOC bridge inspector found the cache today too! TFTC!

Found by a very excited 5 year old. Great little bush walk. Lost reception for other caches here. Well be back
Being driven round in the mighty Fiat....what fun. Hardest part of this cache was extracting myself from the car .
Nice one...thanks
Nice one...thanks
Never been up here before and great to see somewhere different. Container was quite exposed but all good. Now nicely tucked away back into it's little hiding place. TFTC!!
lovely sunday afternoon, so took our 3 year old grandson wandering around the valley, beautiful spot tftc
A well named cache:) Always enjoy this wee bush walk; a great spot to run the dog, and it does help if there is a cache to retrieve along the way. TFTC
thanks sidewaze for giving me the excuse to came back to this great reserve. Soon had log in hand. On to the next one.
A nice easy first cash on our eves valley walk, with 2 extra kids/dogs and 1 more adult. They enjoyed the walk and the finding of Caches. Heading towards spot, knew where it would be. Love the title of this Cach.

A nice quick find in an easily accessible area, dogs enjoyed a quick run around - although Buster had us in fits with crawling through the fence! TFTC

6/9 caches found this afternoon. Found by Mast 10 who enjoyed some swaps. TFTC.
Picked this one up while out for a walk. The rest of the party recognised a likely hiding spot immediately and it was a quick find after that. TFTC
Field area rather wet enroute to cache, but track was reasonably dry. A lovely spot indeed.
Having a cleanout of the gps before i head away for work again and found a couple of unlogged caches. tftc
Called by and said hello to Bridget this afternoon. I do enjoy this patch of bush. A fence has appeared since my last visit. Off to do the other two now.

I was expecting the "Bardot" to be there but no luck! Plenty of other birds about.
Went for an extra bit of a walk, as I didn't remember whether I was coming or going.

Not a new spot to us but now finding our way around the tracks here has become easier A quick walk in led us to the right spot and cache spotted after a brief search. Signed log and a frantic cache replacement and check it's cam before the muggles we could hear arived. Thanks for bringing us back here TFTC
A nice walk in late afternoon to GZ - cache was revealed after a short search - Stretch0 took the geocoin and we dropped in three paintball balls that we had picked up at a previous cache done today !!! ( just in case any one was wondering what they are/were lol) thanks for the cache and bringing us to a place we enjoy coming
Nice one! Always pleasant to return to this lovely spot for a short walk. Birdsong loud in the trees too. No problems with the cache. Dropped in a trackable. TFTC, Biggles.
FTF!!! A fun dash with the whole family so thought we may be too late. One car at entrance but obviously not a geocacher. 2nd time we have been under this object as a family last time was during the TES final. We will be back to enjoy the walk to the other caches here on a nicer weather day. TFTC.
have done the caches here before
great bush walks
met man and his son with two beautiful dogs who made a big fuss over us.
thank you for the cache and giving us a fun day.

Unlike the FTFer's, we had no rush with an after lunch visit and the spot was new to us. We have now increased our success rate with Sidewaze FDF's considerably - SoBad would say it was because he was there as well. Lack of stress (we have all the FDF's we need at present) and daylight also helps. And having a very good idea of where the cache would be from the name. The sun was even out for us, but the very recent rain meant enjoying the walk again will wait for another visit. Thanks.
Mr KE took his whole family to find the FTF this morning.
Then later in the day, he took me and his dog to this same location.
Now what am I to make of this???
Quick find, and the TES instructions are still there I see
Thanks for placing the cache.

Somehow a bit slow today to get motivated but a possible FDF and need for fresh air won. Never been up the valley before and what a beautiful reserve! After a false start the cache was soon in hand and log signed. It was decided that wet is wet so couldn't resist the presence of other caches... This reserve is getting more visits for no other reason than that it's there. A real gem. Thanks for leading to this fantastic spot.
A decision to get some fresh air to counteract cabin fever and get a FDF bought us to this spot, a place neither Hazedarus nor I had been to before. In fact I didn't know it existed before I began this great sport! The weather had cleared by the time we got here so what's a few big drops off the trees going to matter in the bigger scheme of things. Cache was soon spotted and signed then the decision made to continue on to the others in this area. Thank you for bringing us to this lovely spot and thank you for the cache.
