Nice easy one for kids to run from the car in the rain to get. Had some other unsuccessful searches so good to get a win. Yay! Lid is missing but log still there
A couple of muggle-free cars parked at GZ. Headed towards GZ when another car pulled up. Raced as fast as I could to claim picnic table! Sat and filled out log, watched by a geo-gull (sure he had seen this done before). Repositioned cache in a less obvious spot (was quite visible on approach). Cheers.
I joined forces with yorkshirekiwi83 for a couple of days caching around the Coromandel Peninsula. After a very early departure from Auckland, we then drove around the Peninsula anticlockwise, calling in at Pauanui, Tairua, Hahei and Cooks Beach, to find caches in those places, before taking the 309 Road to Coromandel, where we stayed the night. Sat at the table and quickly found the cache, then admired the view over the beach. TFTC@

Decided to go away for an early start to the weekend and make a real effort on the Coromandel Peninsula, Vistra was up for the challenge of joining me. There were some kids playing in the playground but they were distracted enough for us to make the find easily enough. TFTC

Not the weather for a picnic today. Loads of muggles stopping briefly but we quickly found and signed and were on our way. NINO TFTC
In 1966 my family took the ferry from Whitianga where we were staying in a rented bach. We walked to Cooks Beach and had a picnic lunch on the beach in front of the cache site. Mum and Dad left us there (in those days it wasn't child abuse to leave your children for a while!) and went to look at the sections for sale on Endeavour Place. By the time we got back to Auckland after our holiday, we owned a section (600 pounds purchase price). The bach came down prefabricated over the Tapu Rd (we believe it was the first to come by road - the materials for others were brought in by barge). Price for the shell only building was $1200. We were waiting in the queue on the day the "new" Kopu-Hikuai Rd was opened, and were one of the first cars to cross the peninsula by that route.
In 1978, my Mum extended it to two bedrooms and an indoor toilet!
My Mum is 86, and doesn't come as much. My siblings and I look after the bach and visit regularly as do our grown up children. In the past few years we have seen the fourth generation of our family enjoying Cooks Beach holidays.
Sitting at your cache site, enjoying the view, brought back a lot of memories of times at my favourite beach.
Thank you very much for the cache

Found on our tiki tour in-between World Cup cricket games. Nice quick find for Mrs Nalawod. When we returned to eat our picnic lunch there were muggles at the table, so we were lucky first time round.

At the last day of our NZ holiday I took a long walk along Cooks beach and enjoyed the warm sand under my feet before returning to cold Germany....
Found a lot of nice seashells and many geocaches! Thanks a lot for this successful last caching-day on the beach!
At the picinc area there were a few people walking around, but nobody noticed me, sitting on the table, taking photos, enjoying the view and signing the logbook!

In the Coromandel for a wedding and decided to collect a few caches in the surrounding beach areas.
A quick find as we headed off down the beach. Had to secure with a muggle sitting right next to us!

Spot was occupied when we arrived, but after another nearby and a short walk along the beach I could see it hanging below on approaching from the beach. It's starting to fall apart and needs some maintenance before it becomes muggle fodder,

Really enjoyed finding this cache! So original! Duct tape might need updating though
There were quite a few people around but still managed an easy find. Thanks very much surf5a
A quick easy find with filz vs pomade, just out of sight of nearby muggles cooking their tea.TFTC
Cache #16 of the day. Parked up nice and close and made our way to GZ. There were lots of muggles very close to where the cache is hiding. We had to act Stealthy, so we didn't get seen retrieving and replacing the cache.
Thanks for the challenge !!

Had to wait out a pile of muggles coming back from the beach before searching. Once they were all gone, we had the cache in hand in seconds. Lovely spot for a picnic. TFTC!
Thought we might combine lunch with geocaching, so we parked at GZ and unfurled the picnic basket. Cache quickly found in between sandwiches. TFTC

Great place for a picnic! Nice stroll from where we are staying. Thanks for the cache.
A big day out geocaching wise today in the Coromandel, a great area (as always) to visit. Many thanks for the hide, another good find for the day.
Down at the Caravan Whangapoua for the weekend. Decided Cooks Beach needed a visit. Nice spot here, we haven't been along this part before. Quick find. SL. TFTC.
A quick find during a day's exploration and cache finding in the area. Signed log, TFTC!
The day after Cyclone Lusi and the weather was not good enough for fishing, so it's a Geocaching day instead. No problems. Head through the hills, via the 309, collect a bit of lovely Coro mud on the Geomobile, and pick up where we left off last time.
No problem with this one, no muggles and in fact Mrs S didn't even get out of the Geomobile so sure was she of Mr S's ability to find.
Thanks surf5a. Another smilie at Cooks. Yay.

Spotted it easily but had a muggle car parked right in front of it so used some distraction and sleight of hand to get the cache, log and put it back while they were completely unaware.
Found it quick but had to be stealthy and use a bit of sleight of hand. TFTC
It was nice to have a solid seat to sit on compared to the bikes.we stopped for a bite to eat. signed the cache then went on to find mum who had driven round from Whitianga.
My son found this one while waiting for me to come back from another cache. Quick find. TFTC - nice spot. Cheers.
#882 - After a ride by boad in Hahei we drived to the cooks beach. We stopped here on the parking area. Out of the car and a quick grab for a chache - that's the way i like it! TFTC.
Rocked up to Cooks beach just for a looksey, and thought "there must be a cache here somewhere", funnily enough there was one right where we were sitting, how funny! tftc
