Nice hide! Blends in well! Loved reading about the history. Thanks for the hide!
First time visiting Old Petrie Town. Just a rainy Saturday so looking forward to coming back to see the markets. TFTC!
Found at 11.20hrs. Not too long before I had this one. Favourite point for this .TFTC SLjg
Found and signed, thank you. Took a while! Checked out majority of hunker before sighting and getting cache.
Nice quiet Saturday morning free from muggles. Lots of poking and prodding but located it in the end. TFTC
A midwinter break in beautiful Queensland.
Day One: Brisbane’s northern edge.
Weather: sensational.
I’m here in Old Petrie mainly for the wherigo and letterbox, but parked so close to this one that I thought it a sign that I should give it a try. Small caches on big machinery is usually an exercise in disappointment for me, but today I came out on top.
Thanks membsec.

I had to come down to Brisbane for an appointment, so I left the Sunny Coast a little early so that I could grab a couple of caches that I needed. This one wasn’t on my list, but it was close by, and so I parked nearby and made my way towards GZ.
Tuesday afternoon it was very quiet here, so there was no problem of nearby muggles. I had a look here and a look there and then I spotted something that wasn’t quite right. The cache was quickly to hand. And one of my favourite cache containers! Thanks for the cache, membsec

First one of these that didn,t need tott! I dont get the T, and everythings rusty, so i,m not sure about the hint
Found it! 30 seconds of searching, the hint was very supportive, girlfriends first real sneaky cache container too which was cool, I've found a couple using similar techniques. Awsome spot and great history of the local area
Found during our first visit to old Petrie Town. An impressive example of 19th century engineering using available materials. Not too difficult to find once the Garmin settled down and I bothered to take notice of it. Added "George M." to the log and replaced. TFTC, membsec.
We were doing the bolt home and saw this one close by the road.

membsec I found your cache Timber Jinker on 29/12/2022, 2:45 pm. This is my find 4595 and find # 8 today. Very sneaky. Took a while to find. Actually saw it at the beginning but didn’t investigate. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Replaced full log. Slowly working our way back to Cairns after attending Qogm 2022. Did your Timber Jinker today. 9 November 2022 3:37 pm Tyfc membsec total caches now 6025 .
Took the geopup for a drive on a beautiful winters day to collect some more smileys. I love caches like this one. After a few mins and resetting what I was looking for, the cache was in hand.
Thanks for the spot to stop and collect another one.

Here on holiday so cache maintenance run in order. Al in orders here and plenty of room on log.
We found this one while doing the AL. We usually don’t do well at these kind of hides but as luck would have it we found this one quickly. All good here. Thanks for the cache membsec

Nice hi took me 2 minutes to find found it with hallis JKB and kris_cs1 also log book is full. thanks
Great hide! Found with HallisJKB and Master57 after looking round the markets. Not sure why it says the log book was replaced because it's completely full of old logs. Just about squeezed our names in it! TFTC!
Hard find, and clever! Took 15 minutes or more to find on first try. FP for you!
Tftc. My muggle friends first find and she found it in under 2 minutes, what the heck!
My second attempt to find this cache and this time I still had to make a PAF call to locate it. Squeezed my name on the log. Sorry but I didn't have a replacement one with me.

Today, I joined karicka in a morning hike in the Dandy Ranges, walking past part of Lake Manchester. It was a nippy morning that got warm, with a number of steep hills walked up and down. After lunch, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to the northern suburbs, where we stopped off at Strathpine, Leis Park, Petrie and Old Petrie Town, and completed the *The North Pine Heritage Trail* Adventure Lab. We ended up running out time exploring Old Petrie Town, so another trip to be scheduled no doubt.
This was our final geocache find of the day, and unfortunately took us a while to find. There appeared to be two groups of Geocachers who visit this one: Those who make a quick find, and those who need to make multiple visits and taking a fair amount of time. We had hoped for the earlier group, but instead, it took us 20 minutes of searching, and needed a PAF in locating. The cache was certainly well hidden and blended into this old relic, but glad to have finally put this find behind us. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks membsec for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

TFTC. We had been here a few days ago. Today while on an Adventure Lab we were close to the posted GZ for this cache. We decided to have another look. One trip around and Linda spotted the clever hide. We obviously were having a bad day last time we were here. Always nice to rectify a blue face.
Obviously we were having a bad cacheing day after missing 2 from 4 on the lake we came to Old Petrie Town. Zero from two here. Missed the wherigo and also this one. Obviously the geocaching eyes and senses left us today.
Tftc membsec, with these types you either get it straight away or they are frustrating.
We were lucky here to make a quick find.

Mr CNQ was doing some recon for a challenge cache and parked near this one. Found a familiar container quite quickly, thanks for cache and history membsec
I was here with Nayfee after completing a CITO nearby. He had already found it previously and while he was trying to remember where it was, I quickly had the odd item out in hand.
After driving the village we stopped here... I was still reading out the history as PirateLinda announced “there it is...” tftc...
What a lovely little spot to explore. After finding the puzzle down a little ways I drove Peppa ALL around the site, reading ALL the signs on ALL the buildings - Peppa knows how much I love old s#,%t. Thanks for bringing us to this spot
We have driven past here more times than we can remember but never stopped in. Today was the day. The markets had finished for the day and most people had cleared out so we were left to look around without interruption. After reading the history info we set out searching for the cache. We soon spotted something that was doing it's best to remain hidden. Got ya. Thanks for hiding this for our enjoyment.
After doing the nearby wherigo I had to find this close to the car. The cache soon revealed itself to me. Clever camo!
Wow , only 1 lap and l had this cache in hand ,it could have been a lot longer . All's good at gz . Thanks membsec

While waiting for our thick shakes at the nearby Emporium, we headed over to this lovely piece of history, inspected it with interest, and quickly noticed something that stood out from the rest. I was actually really grateful that it did because I didn’t want to cause any damage to the timber jinker and being able to spot it meant it was a really safe retrieval. Good to see bits of history like this being preserved.

Before leaving the area, Eskies5 and I decided to make the search for this one. After a short search, Eskies5 called out she had it and we were able to sign or names in the log. TFTC and bringing us to the area membsec
Kestal & I were down from Toowoomba to attend the region's first community celebration event. After completing the wherigo we had a bit of a search for caches that fit the current Wonders of the World souvenir offering and this was one. Oh no...this one had potential for much pain but I took a deep breath and had a think and soon my eyes spotted the obvious. Good one! TFTC membsec.
History nerds here... my current research project is the early development of the Currumbin Valley, down on the Qld/NSW border and close to home. There is tales of early settlers harvesting and selling the worthwhile timbers from their properties as both a way of clearing their blocks in preparation for pastoral and agricultural enterprises (required under the land alienation act) as well as making money for those few years when no money was being made. For us there was some evidence that some property was selected simply for what timber could be extracted, then that property surrendered when anything of value was removed.
I've also got a bit of a thing for Jinkers, so it was good to get up close and personal to this one, although just personal enough to find what we were looking for.
Thanks for the cache.

On a No-Brisbane/Gold Coast-Show Long Weekend adventure with petan. After being kicked out of the museum (because it was closing) we checked out the timber jinker. It was really interesting.
Thank you for the cache.
Thank you for the cache.
Have not attempted this one earlier as I have feared a lengthy search.
With the park closed and the parking almost empty I decided to have a go.
Got down and within seconds I had found the cache.
Happy not to have to send more time here
Thank you for this cache

The oxen carts that come through the city have started to become a problem. Ever since the Gnolls went on strike you need a good solid pair of boots on before you try to cross the street. Otherwise you might find that things ooze.
On our second attempt we found this cache and it took a lot less time than we spent the first time around. Daylight helps with this one. TFTC from the inspectorrexteam.
