From the southernmost Point of the north island to Featherstone that was my way today.
Was a nice driving and I will write if there is a problem.

Travelling down to Wellington via Cape Palliser for the second week of school holidays. Stayed at the Pinnacles campground last night. Quick detour on the way back. No problems finding the cache which was all fine. Lovely sunset. Thanks Skindo for the smiley and bringing us here.
Awesome location! Was looking in the wrong place a few times but upon inspecting some trash did find it! Also love the smiley face! ️ Tftc
Wandering in Wairarapa between Easter and Anzac day. Started at Cape Palliser and ended up in Martinborough. Found several hides along my way. This hide was one of them.
All good here.

we are staying down this corner of the North island for a a week and had to visit this cache at the 'reserve' . the cache was quickly found signed and returned to its hidey hole on our way to lake ferry hotel and the sunset a bit later from along by the hotel .

thank you for this cache .
Unfortunately the hotel closed just as we pulled up to go in for a drink!! However, cache is all good. TFTC
Well I made this one much harder than it needed to be! When we first arrived here, there were a Ute right next to GZ so we waited and eventually left and went to Onoke Spit and wandered around there and worked out the answers to the earthcache. We came back here and there was another car next to GZ! We walked around and then the guy started up the car and then sat there! Eventually I walked around the back of GZ and started to wander in from the beach. That definitely wasn't a good idea. I have never received so many scratches from all of the branches lying around, and I still couldn't find the cache. The car had moved off by then so I came out of the bush, walked along the fenceline and picked up the cache. Should have done that in the first place! TFTC I think....
Over here for some r&r which always includes geocaching.
Grabbed this one on our visit to Lake Ferry and Cape Palliser today.
Great piece of history thanks.
Quick find here - SL and left as found. TFTC.

After staying overnight in the DOC campsite overnight, we explored the Cape Palliser area today and picked up a few caches before heading back to Featherston. Into the return leg at this point, and a quick detour to Lake Ferry. The cache was a quick find. #4012. TFTC.
Interesting to learn a bit about the area. First time here. TFTC, sorry for the late log
With the prospect of a nice long weekend available, I decided to spend a day or two over in the Wairarapa chasing archived Skindo puzzle caches and any other caches I would be passing right by including this one.
This was a nice and straightforward park 'n' grab. I had to wait until some people with horses had vacated GZ, but once they headed to the beach then I could conduct my search in peace.
Once found, I encountered no issues with the cache or the contents, and I was able to swiftly sign the log before replacing everything exactly as found and heading off to set my tent up for the night.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, and Happy New Year to you.

Drove right up to the cache - Yay! I Found one! Nephew has been beating me to the vast majority today .
The plan was to go tramping but the weather report was particularly disappointing. So my sister, my nephew and my self went camping at the Pinnacles instead. Fantastic weekend, great weather, although quite blowy on Sunday. And on our return to Wellington the weather was... particularly disappointing. It was hosing down! I am glad we went for option 2, but I am still in need of tree time.

No luck for me here today as all I found were discarded beer bottles and a healthy population of midgies. I also had an elderly couple drive in, park next to me and just sit for ten minutes as I tried to not look suspicious. They drove off but then returned several minutes later to repeat the process but in a different vehicle. I decided that this was a sign from God to quit and head to the pub for lunch in the sun. Will keep an eye on this one.
Looked at the co-ordinates on a very cold morning. Nothing found but not to say it is missing!
Found on a sunny morning after staying overnight at Lake Ferry Hotel, now on to Cape Palliser for more adventures and more GCs. TFTC
Place is deserted this morning! No trouble finding. Now off to the hotel for elevenses! TFTC
That looks like a good camping spot. It's Canterbury Anniversary weekend so JDScout and I organized cheap flights up to Wellington awhile back. We stayed at a friend's house in Greytown and have based ourselves there. Thanks skindo for placing this geocache 7942 find for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

Quite windy there and therefor bigger waves than normal. A quick find too. TFTC
Found on a geocaching expedition in the Wairarapa with barefootguru, GSEL and Infoferret. QEF. TFTC skindo!
Another road trip to the Wairarapa, this time to pick up caches for the Mystery at the Museum. I headed out to Cape Palliser as I haven't been out this way for a few years - before I started geocaching so there's plenty for me to get.
Pulled over into this park on the way back out of Lake Ferry and was able to park right next to the cache. Signed and replaced. All good here. TFTC

Nice and quick find after lunch at the Hotel and before we headed off to Cp Palliser. Log ok but put it in another container (inside the original cache) to give it extra protection. Thanks for the hide.
Here in the late afternoon and the biting insects ensured we didnt stay long. Nice area. TFTC
I am in love with this lake!! Our first time visiting the area, we stayed the night at the local camp ground. Tftc
Nice place. Opted to stay here for a little bit to each a late lunch and logs todays finds so far

I arrived to find 3 muggles at the nearby picnic table and there was no way I could get the cache without being seen even though I could see it from the car. A good reason to stop for a lunch break and while I was having that they left and I was able to grab it quickly. Thanks skindo

Off on a weekend trip to Wellington area to be at a friends wedding, it would be rude of me not to get a few caches along the way
Checking out where a wedding was about to be held, that I was attending, I thought I'd grab this, before heading along towards the cape, before the wedding actually started.
TFTC skindo, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 9 find(s) of 13 today, making this find #1843

With lucypear on the journey to Cape Palliser.
We saw this from the car so made for a very quick retrieval.. but took so long to put back due to a mix of a motorbike and that stalker couple and their dog. Lucypear mentioned we had seen them the night before getting pizza in martinborough, but ALSO we saw them at a vinyard on the trail on Saturday. Legit stalked.

Spotted this one out in the open whilst we were driving towards it. Had to wait a good 10 mins to return the cache due to a kid circling the area on his quad bike and then a couple walking their dog - coincidentally we had seen the same couple and their dog the night before at a restaurant in Martinborough - are they stalking us?!
Quick find where all good at GZ. Thanks for another smilie

Found while in Martinborough for a weekend of cycling around town on Saturday morning and then driving out to Lake Ferry in the afternoon for some sightseeing. TFTC
Cache # 4,221 - a quick find for me and CelloJoss, although we had to take our time with both retrieval and replacement, as some muggles had driven to the same spot for some sight-seeing. All good with the cache. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Staying in the motor camp next door so popped in to find this cache. Replaced wet log. Beautiful spot to spend time. Enjoyed amazing fish and chips at the nearby hotel.
Quick find on a Sunday caching drive in South Wairarapa, had a lovely lunch at the nearby Ferry Hotel.
On the road for our first venture into the North Island with our little caravan to explore this part of the country. It is not a caching expedition but we do manage to stop for one or two . Our travels brought us to your cache – many thanks, skindo, for bringing us to this spot. We’ve had great fun on the way, and look forward to finding a couple more caches as we travel on our way. TFTC.
During my travel month through New Zealand I could find this Cache.

Was heading north from Palliser and thought I'd make the detour. Glad I did!
On the road to Lake Ferry and then to Cape Pallisser we did some more caches.
And we learned a bit more on the history of this region.

Out for a family drive for a picnic lunch, after skipping stones in the lake checked for local caches... Uh oh, phone battery on less than 10%... got within 130m and the phone died. Cue pacing the distance in the direction we were heading and using a bit of cacher blind luck, the geo-kid soon had his hands on the cache!
#4734. A sunny Saturday and I need to get my cache numbers up for the month. So decided another adventure in the southern Wairarapa was on the cards. So drove over here in the morning and after doing a few at the northern end of the lake, it was time to head south. Time to check out Lake Ferry. After the shelter of the nearby valleys it was pretty exposed and windy by the lake. Nice quick find. The logbook was damp but still able to sign. Put the cache back where found. Thanks for the cache skindo.

On a pilgrimage through some of my childhood memories now showing my children. Spent many glorious hot dry summer holidays here. Cache is a little damp but otherwise okay.
I have a full day meeting in Wellington starting early on Monday morning, so I decided to take a leisurely route to it, via a two day tour of the Wairarapa. Booked me a cute little Airbnb cottage in Masterton and planned a route to an area that I have never been before. Left the Manawatu in the pre-dawn light to make the most of the day and it has been an awesome day, with springlike weather, and full of lighthouses, seals and of course, braces, powerpoles and caches.
Another quick find, although I suspect it was a bit of a fluke that I went straight too it. TFTC

the weather is not great but its good for keeping other people in doors and helping keeping the areas muggle free while we make the finds, thanks for the placement it has been another great out over this way caching.
Today was another nice day for our holiday trip in new zealand were we of course also found some caches along the way.
Today we took a trip around wellington.

Had a great day with great weather geocaching in south Wairarapa. Had 'lunch' at Lake Ferry at 4pm. Nice spot for a cache. Thanks.
Enjoying a pleasant stay here camping overnight. Could drive right up to this one, thanks skindo.
10.40: On the way to Cape Palliser. This cache was the main reason for our short detour to Lake Ferry. Finding it was much easier in the end as we expected during our approach. Lovely place out here!
Weather: sun, fine, windy, 21°C;
Wheelchair: no problem;
State: all good.
Thank you!

Stopped for lunch at the pub before heading North again.

Out with Loth making our way to Cape Palliser. Logged many caches on the way and we hiked through the Putangirua Pinnacle to see the paths of the dead. We also saw seals along the beach and rocks. Tftc!!
