Tftc easy find of the paper in a bag, I had a container in the car so have replaced for the next person.
Container missing, only crappie logbook into crappie plastic bag... Going next... TFTC# 2071 - 25 February 2024 11:30
Trouve ! / Found it ! 4460me cache trouve.Merci skindo pour la cache 4460th cache found.Thank you skindo for the cache
Beautiful spot, came down to climb up to the lighthouse again. Was here a few years ago with my daughter.
Struggled to find, called in Woody. Log saturated, no lid, unable to write in log. Disappointed
Good place to hide a cache to make people aware of threats to dunes. I will spend more time here next visit to look at the biodiversity and compare it with my Petone restored dunes.
Cache container had no lid so inhabited by 3 snails. They were removed and cache placed upside down tight to keep snails out. It needs a replacement container.

From the southernmost Point of the north island to Featherstone that was my way today.
Was a nice driving and I will write if there is a problem.
Thanks
Why alsways me, the lid is brocken and the logbook full.

Travelling down to Wellington via Cape Palliser for the second week of school holidays. Stayed at the Pinnacles campground last night. Quick stop here and log soon signed. Cache lid was missing but otherwise fine. Enjoying the succulents that are presently in flower. Thanks Skindo for the smiley and showing us this covenanted area.
Wandering in Wairarapa between Easter and Anzac day. Started at Cape Palliser and ended up in Martinborough. Found several hides along my way. This hide was one of them.
Handy park and grab.

Fyi if coming back from Ngawi there is a small road to pull up in as we had pulled in a bit too far away. Quick find tftc
It's really good to read the info signs and remind ourselves of how careful we need to be around these areas, Cache is all good despite no lid. TFTC
Quick find on the way back to Wellington. Like others have said the container has no lid but the contents were fine. TFTC!
Over here for some r&r which always includes geocaching.
Grabbed this one on our visit to Lake Ferry and Cape Palliser today.
Quick find here - SL and left as found. TFTC.

After staying in the DOC campsite overnight, we explored the Cape Palliser area today and picked up a few caches before heading back to Featherston. Starting the return journey at this point. A quick find. #4009. TFTC.
Cache # 4,979 - An interesting spot, and a quick find. Yes, lid is gone, but not completely missing - part of the disintegrated lid was seen nearby. Cache is dry, but not sure how long that might last. Hopefully another cacher can bring along a replacement container soon (our car was so jammed with camping supplies we had no room for extra stuff - not even chairs for the campsite!). Did with Astro Hunter and Violet Butterfly. TNLNSL. TFTC!
A quick find with The Wandering Dragons and Violet Butterfly as we headed towards the lighthouse. Thanks!

Did today with The Wandering Dragons and Astro Hunter. A spider crawled out of the cache container scaring me and AH. TWD shrugged and signed the log. Thanks!

Cache is missing the lid, but log very dry (considering all the rain we've had lately. Tftc
Nice trip down to see the light house. Now retracing steps to stay at the pinnacles tonight.
We stayed the night at Ngawi. Today we woke up to beautiful calm conditions. Cache lid gone here but log ok. Thanks for the cache
To day was all but perfect for this area....sun out and very little wind, with a calmish ocean..the cache was a nice easy find and I enjoyed the uniqueness of this placemany thanks Skindo
Quickly found on the way to the lighthouse. The log was dry despite the broken lid. Another beautiful day on this side of the hill - the wind was blowing a gale but that added to the adventure - especially at the top of Cape Palliser lighthouse! TFTC.
Nice easy find on the way back from the lighthouse. The lid to the container is missing, I found parts of it lying nearby.
The plan was to go tramping but the weather report was particularly disappointing. So my sister, my nephew and my self went camping at the Pinnacles instead. Fantastic weekend, great weather, although quite blowy on Sunday. And on our return to Wellington the weather was... particularly disappointing. It was hosing down! I am glad we went for option 2, but I am still in need of tree time.

#1253. After a trip to Cape Palliser lighthouse, back on the road to Lake Ferry and our B&B. Overshot GZ through inattention, but turned around and went back the kilometre to grab this easy, typical skindo cache. Nice easy find, and as been stated, a lid-less container, but all good inside. As CO is no longer in the game, probably the next cacher should replace the cache as he probably won’t.
Tftc anyway.

A very quick find today, we were just signing the log as a car cruised past on the narrow road down to the water, we looked up in time to see a large seal cross in front of the car just enough so that it couldn't pass, before taking all the time in the world it needed to wander down to the water while the car could do nothing but crawl along behind it, very funny. Apologies, as I was replacing this one my finger went right through the brittle lid and broke it.
Heading to Wellington on a small road trip. Detour around to Cape Paliser to see the sights. TFTC
Our first find for today - going to Lake Ferry for a gentle morning, and coffee. Hopefully the Pinnacles later. Cache in the proper place!! TFTC
Having walked near the dunes and seen some of these plants yesterday it was lovely to read the informative signboard to learn about some of the exotic named plants. I particularly like the name Spinifex. TFTC
Three years ago, we intended to come and admire the cape and the sea lions. Unfortunately the weather was really bad and we stopped at Putangirua Pinnacles.
Today, the weather is beautiful and we will enjoy it all day long
We leave the cape to head back to our motel
In passing some stops and some caches on the road.
The weather is always very nice.

Thanks skindo for the geocache [^]

On our way back we stopped for logging this geocache.

Another road trip to the Wairarapa, this time to pick up caches for the Mystery at the Museum. I headed out to Cape Palliser as I haven't been out this way for a few years - before I started geocaching so there's plenty for me to get.
Pulled over and found the cache right away in a classic skindo hiding spot. All good here. TFTC

An interesting idea, put in place with DOC's support but not handing the sie over to DOC. Cache located in a common *skindo* location. TFTC
MEGA TRIP 2018.
As usual with the annual MEGA event, we partook in our annual MEGA Trip. However this year was a little different from others, with much more sleep and a little less time caching than usual, but just as much fun being had along the way.
The general goal for the trip was to focus on all the new Virtual caches published over the last year, visiting Cape Palliser (for the Southern most cache in the NI), and Castle Point, along with spending time at the MEGA Event. With this in mind hiring a campervan from Hamilton and seemed like the best way to tackle this goal, plus sleeping in a car with four people, would just be too cramped!
The trip was a great success, and our goals were achieved. A big thanks to all CO's for there hides.
LEG 3: Mega, Cape Palliser and Castle Point: Todays plan was to spend some time this morning at the Mega Event before heading off to Cape Palliser and then working our way North to Castle Point. Two places that have been on the to visit list for a while now.
On the way back from visiting Cape Palliser Lighthouse, so decided to find the caches along the road. A quick find here.

Well it's the WENZ Mega Weekend and a plan was hatched to motorhome (as we thought it would make a difference from sleeping in a car which is our normal accommodation method) down here in the company of HKCB, 11HPG11 & Alpenmilch80 and head for a few caches along the way.
As time was of the essence and we had planned to spend bugger all time at the actual mega but rather head for specific caches that we would otherwise not collect.
The record keeping for this trip was a total of 1750kms, (fuel = $450) and less than 100 caches, plenty of Beer & Wine and I still call it a complete success as we got what we came for.
Following about an hour at the WENZ Mega we headed for Cape Palliser (as this was a targeted area) before heading north again. What an amazing drive down here and a variety of sceanery along the coast. This was truly a highlight for us and many photos were taken.
We cached our way back up towards the Waiarapa and onwards to Castlepoint
thanks for the placement

During lunch time on Friday I flew into Wellington from Auckland to meet up with some crazy Hamilton’s (11HPG11, Cats&Dragons & HKCB) to spend some time at the 2018 WENZ Mega and then driving the huge campervan back to the Tron.
After the night spend with a hearty meal and good drinks we refreshed ourselves before moving in the direction of the mega. Afterwards we left the Hut to drive out to Cape Palliser. This find was collected on our way back. TFTC

It's Mega time! This year we decided to hire a motorhome and travel down in relative luxury, very different to the last few years. Our team this year consisted of Cats&Dragons, HKCB and later on Alpenmilch80, and myself, logs were signed as MEGAHOAC. We went on a bit of a whirlwind trip round the lower half of the north island, chasing virtuals, earthcaches and anything a little bit different.
Making our way back toward civilization with lots of cache stops and lots of photos taken. Thanks for showing us this spot.

Off on a weekend trip to Wellington area to be at a friends wedding, it would be rude of me not to get a few caches along the way
Off to Lake Ferry for a wedding, and I was early... and there are caches in the area... better get some of them! Never been down this area before, so it was nice to collect this. Seem to be following an earlier trip of kyb3rs! Shame I didn't get much chance to catch up with him on this visit.
TFTC skindo, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 12 find(s) of 13 today, making this find #1846

Fast find on the way home to Welly after a great day exploring Lake Ferry and Cape Palliser
Out enjoying a gorgeous sunny day driving in the Wairarapa. All safe and dry here. TFTC
After having lunch back at the camp ground where we are staying, we 3 westies are off for further adventures. Pulled into here for a quick find and rusty did the signing on this one. Now on our way to White Rocks.
On a 3 day caching adventure with a group of Westies: rustynz, rebel98 and gorby
Making our way round the coast after having some lunch. A quick stop, and the log was being signed. Thanks for the history of the area and the hides.

On the road for our first venture into the North Island with our little caravan to explore this part of the country. It is not a caching expedition but we do manage to stop for one or two . Our travels brought us to your cache – many thanks, skindo, for bringing us to this spot. We’ve had great fun on the way, and look forward to finding a couple more caches as we travel on our way. TFTC.
After staying the night at a windy campsite last night we set off quite early this morning hoping to pick up one or two more caches but somehow this was the only one before we left this lovely area. Quick find-thanks.
An easy find. Some small animal (a rat, possibly) dashed out from near the cache as I rummaged for it.

On the road to Lake Ferry and then to Cape Pallisser we did some more caches.
And we learned a bit more on the history of this region.

#4745. A sunny Saturday and I need to get my cache numbers up for the month. So decided another adventure in the southern Wairarapa was on the cards. So drove over here in the morning and after doing a few at the northern end of the lake, it was time to head south. Heading towards Cape Palliser now. Its still nice and sunny but the wind has really picked up. Parked nearby and walked over for a quick find. Signed and replaced the cache back where found. Thanks for the cache skindo. Interesting work going on here to protect the dunes.
I have a full day meeting in Wellington starting early on Monday morning, so I decided to take a leisurely route to it, via a two day tour of the Wairarapa. Booked me a cute little Airbnb cottage in Masterton and planned a route to an area that I have never been before. Left the Manawatu in the pre-dawn light to make the most of the day and it has been an awesome day, with springlike weather, and full of lighthouses, seals and of course, braces, powerpoles and caches.
Another quick find here and I'm able to head towards the next one. TFTC

This took a few minutes since we were looking "offline" with no info except a bouncing signal. Eventually I spotted it. Gorgeous area! Thanks!
