After a few DNF I dropped by and confirmed that it is missing in action.

I should have another up and running soon.

12-Aug-14
Just a note to let you know that a new net was installed this morning so you may have to disable the cache until the park work has been finished & then check if the cache is still there.

12-Aug-14
Workmen everywhere in the park. We wandered in through the side gate to have a look at the difficulty level for us old codgers & were pounced on by the supervisor asking how we got in. Apparently a new net has been installed this morning so CO may have to do a check on the cache after the work has finished.

23-Jul-14
I came here after dark and had the place to myself I spent about an hour searching every part of the top of structure I could reach. I was very thorough, but could not find the cache.

20-Jul-14
Try as we might we were unable to locate this one.

13-Jul-14
Looked for about half an hour in the early morning with no muggles but still no luck

12-Jul-14
This was fantastic. Came by here yesterday with the kids but so many muggles didn't even attempt it. Came back early this morning before anyone else and found the cache. Followed suggestion of bringing cache back to ground so had another go on the slide to return cache. Miss junior geocache aged 2 had a go on the slide by herself on the second trip... She loved it. A favourite from us.

22-Jun-14
A busy day at the park today. Managed to find a quiet moment though. TFTC!

17-May-14
Didn't find it tonight. Searched for about 15 minutes.

27-Mar-14
At 6am the gates were locked, so I climbed over, at least there were no muggles! I managed to get to the top, I searched carefully as everything was wet from the overnight rain, no cache could I find though.

The slide down was interesting with a torch in the dark.

22-Mar-14
Took the grand kids away for the weekend and were told about this park. Went to have a look and of course had to get if any geos around. What's that at the top of that,so up I went with the kids retrieved and signed and down the slide we went. That was fun so up again and down again. TFTC and what a great park.

No luck here for the Booos today but we did have fun thanks

22-Feb-14
Got the geokid to grab it while playing. TFTC. It was a bit wet but did my best signing it.

16-Feb-14
We dropped our kids at the indoor skatepark and decided to spend a few hours caching. In the rain! We thought this one might be a good one to do in the rain because there would be less people about. We were wrong! Climbed up anyways and soon had the CIH. Not sure where we found it was the original hiding spot as it can be seen from afar, plus the person to sign the log before us signed with a not so nice "cache name". Still, we replaced as found. Was a fun one and we have awarded a fav point. Thanks Smile

10-Feb-14
Unable to find this one even with 5 people searching. Had fun climbing anyway.

25-Jan-14
Dropped by and everything is in good order. Ready for longweekend fun.

24-Jan-14
It seems any night could be as bad as others. Waited a while in the car until it sounded safe.
2310 GAFF4, and I don't think I actually checked there before on other attempts.

On our way to new posting and having a quick catch up which means a chance for an awesome spot of geocaching - my mentor Nicholas would be proud! Very Happy

19-Dec-13
Took my hostkids to the playground on the first day of summer holidays and realized there was a cache here. What a fun playground, loved it! Got up to the top and the kids helped me search. Searched for a while, told the kids where they should look and all of a sudden the 8 year old screams "I have it". What a great place to put a cache on. Heaps of mugglers though so glad I had the kids with me as an excuse to get up there Wink could easily write my name down since there were no other kids up there at that point.
Tftc Smile

04-Dec-13
Fun climb and find while at the 1st South Wallsend scouts party. TFTC

01-Dec-13
At least I had an hiur without any muggle distractions. But still no cache. TFTC It is quite an awesome structure.

28-Nov-13
Was having a play with the son in this park after finding GC47XZK Near The Trees.
After a while a few teens came in and one of them had a harness and 3 short ropes with carabiners.
He proceeded to do a roped solo climb around the slide structure and net.
Most of the small number of families in the park left promptly.
On his way up the second time I asked him if he saw the geocache while he was up there.
He said no, but he clearly didn't know what I was talking about.
Listening to his conversations, sounds like he'd done this a fair number of times before...

27-Sep-13
Wow - what an awesome park! Credit to Gourmet for making the find in challenging school holiday bustle and with the extra degree of difficulty by wearing a skirt! TFTC. A favourite point from us for being one of geogirl's bestest playgrounds.

22-Sep-13
I was a bit sceptical if I'd find this, what with the dnfs before me. We were in town for a family get together so had the relevant "cover". Heading over from our picnic with a huge gang, I noticed something before we even got of the ground. BINGO, the rest of the gang said I was a geonerd for finding it from so far our. Sure enough, even though there was a million and one muggles I was soon signing the log. No one any wiser.
Everything was in good nick, no complaints here.
Cheers from Browngang

19-Aug-13
Had a good search but no luck today

17-Aug-13
Didnt despite having a good look. Worried it might have been muggled.

24-Jul-13
Couldn't even look for it at 0100 (yep, 1 am) as there was a small group (muggles?) half way up the tower, with one playing a guitar! Go figure

16-Jul-13
Tried for this one tonight after an earlier recon had too many muggles of all ages. Tonight was no better and after a ten minute torchless tussle in the tangle I gave it up because 3 teenagers began an ascent. They hadn't noticed me in the dark so there was screams all round as I slid down the abyss like tunnel.
First fav I've ever given for a DNF if the option was available.
What a great hunt Smile

Found whilst taking the kids down the slide. Its a lot less suspicious with little ones with you. The log was very hard to in, not sure why but got there in the end. Popular place for the kids.

Found this a few days ago with cccritter7. It did look a bit suspicious, but our efforts were thankfully rewarded. And we were additionally rewarded with the ride down in the slide. Beware that we had trouble writing in the log, so there are a few scribbles in it, with the faint imprint of our names.

Thanks for the cache Danwashere.

04-Jul-13
Rode to this one and climbed up the playground this morning with few muggles about. Soon enough had the cache in hand! What a great little hide in an awesome location. Luckily i still sort of fit into the "kid" category so I didn't look to suspicious. Signed log quickly with Patches. TFTC Danwashere.

18-Jun-13
Tried for this one very briefly but had to give up due to small muggles. I looked from the steel side and in the "tunnel" but didn't get over to the net. This is an amazing place, I'm going to be back and bring some small decoys with me...

Thanks anyway danwashere.

09-Jun-13
New cache container installed. I couldn't afford to keep replacing the unique cache so Ive changed the hide. Its only one foot from its previous location. Ive updated the hint to reflect this.

07-Jun-13
Seems as though someone is onto this one. Dont know how as its not the easiest cache to get to. I have another container at home and will install it this long weekend.

30-Mar-13
spent a while looking for this one with no luck today not a great fan of heights but with team senz in tow for moral support managed to get past that part. oh well must come back soon and look again

11-Mar-13
This was a great cache idea. We loved the challange. Togethter with Betty and Dino we climbed the structure (while the others were doing a run). I did the owner of the last bit. Searched once around before I found it. Nervous about dropping. Today was pretty empty here so we had the top to ourself and could sign up here. Then down through the pipe. Dino was very brave climing all the way up here almost by himself. Thanks for a great cache idea danwashere. Dino will give this a FAV point for sure.

11-Mar-13
This was awesome fun I will remeber this for a while my father Fred Flintstones did the final reaching. I didn't go down the slide Sad. But this was really fun and I will give this on both our names a real big FAV point TFTC danwashere.

Didn't have a pen with me, but have a photo of the find I can email.

Back in place. Pending what happens over the next few weeks, I may have to provide a more explicit description to ensure that no-one fumbles and drops it.

16-Jan-13
Just finished the new cache container and will install it soon. Ive changed the listing to members only. Im hoping that this may assist in the cache surviving longer next time.........

06-Jan-13
It appears as though it has been muggled. Ill need to come up with a less expensive container.........

02-Jan-13
Looking around the net around up the top for a while. Didn't find it Sad

01-Jan-13
I like the name of your cache ??

23-Dec-12
Looked all over for it tonight with one other and didn't find it.
Bugger.
Better luck next time I hope.
If nothing else had a fun climb.

22-Dec-12
Red Face Embarrassment! I 'swung' by this one on my way to Sydney today to hopefully get a x 30 cache day. I thought I had been looking for THIS one a few weeks ago on my way home Gosford (to Newcastle/ Taree) with the older son. But only realised later that I had mislabeled a cache on the GPSr, so was actually looking for Bucket of Fun that night Red Face
Today at 1700 there were far TOO MANY muggles, what with holidays and all.
May try another day, now I know where it is Wink

22-Dec-12
So fun to go climbing!! Good thing we r big kids anyway Smile great place for a cash! TFTC!!

20-Dec-12

11-Dec-12
[Found whilst having a christmas party here. Great park, not so great weather though. Would've loved something as fancy as this when I was youger, great spot! Found with hinto22. TFTC.] It may also be advisable to bring tweezers to extract the log!

08-Dec-12
Took two visits to find this one. It was a great excuse to have a go on the slide. Found with Kano555

28-Nov-12
Found it on the second visit during the failing light, searched last in the dark rain without avail. Found with WebbyHRT

26-Nov-12
Was a bit wary of this one but as it was Monday morning I thought I'd check it out. Climbed to the top, looked into the net and felt a bit funny about taking my 100kg body inside. Just then this teensy little girl and her mum crawled up inside the net, I explained what I was doing (in case she thought I was some kinda pervert!) and she assured me it would be safe for me inside the net (jeez I'm brave!). After they took off down the slide, I gingerly crawled into "Thunderdome" and quickly found the beast! Wasn't gonna risk the slide so back down the outside, at the bottom my GPSr was missing from my back pocket, back up halfway again to retrieve it. Gets a favorite point just 'cause I was really, really brave! TFTC danwashere!!

22-Nov-12
Awesome! Arrived early to avoid the mini muggles but not early enough for the cleaning muggles. Wasn't too sure about exiting after the find but the cleaner with the blower who appeared just after we returned the cache assured us he used it every day ... okay then, race ya! Our only problem --getting the log out as our caching gear was back in the carpark, but our reshaped keyring did the job. TFTC danwashere.

27-Oct-12
Dropped by with visiting sister. Everything is looking good. Waterproof log may not be my smartest move.

26-Oct-12
Good job bro!

24-Oct-12
Such a fun find , did this with the best friend who hadn't been to this amazing park. TFTC

03-Oct-12
Reperio at 0800.

Have been by this one on less than four occasions, but each time there was someone playing in or around GZ. This morning I came by to try my luck again, and while there were a couple of groundskeepers hovering around, they were well enough away to head up and grab the cache. Climbed my way to the top, and soon spotted the likely cache. Quickly signed the log and them like all big kids, went down the spiral slide...which in itself was seriously good fun. Not a fan of playground caches as they usually draw to much suspicion searching around...especially if you're by yourself...but if you had to choose just one...then this would be it. Will be definitely bringing the little one here time and time again. Now it's off to the big kids play center...the gym Smile

Gratias danwashere.

I was worried that something had happened to the cache as I havent received any logs for a while. Dropped in tonight and took a little time to find it as someone had moved the cache to the other side of the post out of direct site. Moved it back so to make it a little easier for everyone.

10-Sep-12
Mega Fun is right! Our 5th cache and was snapped up by Geokid Will. Loved the design!

26-Aug-12
A lot of kids today playing around, took the opportunity to climb to this cache as there was about 4 adults up there with the kids. Easy find while balancing in the nets. This park is Awsome! I'll defiantly come back. the laminated paper was hard to write on, but scratched it in.

Our second find. Thanks.

12-Aug-12
Yer it was easy to find.. A bit harder for the adults and tall people but it was fun looking for it... This was my first

12-Aug-12
Taking the opportunity of having a couple of little TheMonks in tow due to baby-sitting diuties, we ventured out into horrid weather to retrieve this cache.
Little Miss Monk had a go at searching for this on her own, while I directed from terra firma. But she couldn't locate it, although she tried hard. Nothing else for it, but I'm going to have to go up. I don't like heights at the best of times, but only a net underneath isn't comforting. But it seems to be solid and well constructed, so off we go.
I climbed the tower with the little bloke as my decoy, and after a quick search, found the cache. I opened it and then promptly dropped it!!!! Luckily the bits all rolled onto the rubber matting and I made a quick grab before it all went down and who knows where!! Lucky!!!!
And then the pen wouldn't write very well on the plastic paper log, but I wasn't going down and then up again, because it was here that I noticed that one of the bolts holding the net to the support had come undone. If one is undone, how many more I can't see???? How solid and well constucted is at after all?????
Anyway, wrote on the log as well as I could, and dived in the tube slide with the little Monk and we were out of there.

[:o] The kids are happy that we didn't find it and have to come back. We had to abandone the search due to a Muggle Birthday party using the area.

04-Aug-12
Found on a picnic day with the family.

Little Miss Rat and Baby Rat went for a climb first, then came and got me to help, then I just had to go up a few more times and slide back downBig Grin.

Great bit of camo (form and colour), well thought out.

Thanks for the hunt.

27-Jul-12
OMG THAT WAS AWESO.... I mean nice cache. Bit to childish...... GREATEST CACHE EVER!!!!!

24-Jul-12
Mega fun on the wet slippery dip really enjoyed the hunt and climb for the prize no one here on a rainy day a lot quicker getting back down than up Thanks danwashere for the hide Smile

15-Jul-12
Sent the 12 year old up for this one, very busy here and she had no luck unfortunately. Definitely one for a quiet time!!

12-Jul-12
Loved the camo, sent geokids up to find and replace. Wet day so no muggles about.

11-Jul-12
Knowing that we are moving to Perth within the week Daz simply had to find this one before we leave. After having dinner nearby with the extended family it was agreed that a spot of night caching was in order. Approaching GZ we were suprised to find some underaged smokers sitting along the pathway. They seemed disinterested in us and after a couple mins of climbing the cache was in hand. Shortly after gleefully signing the log we took a rather dark tunnel trip back down. This cache truly was mega fun! A favourite point from us. Found with Mr CDM261. TFTC!

11-Jul-12
After attending a 50th birthday celebration for one of my brothers at Warners Bay, mr dazndky and I decided to do a little night geocaching and nab this one.
We've wondered around this park on a number of occasions and when we saw a cache published here a little while ago we decided it was one we had to bag.
Night caching is so much fun ... running around in the dark with only a couple of phones for torches and climbing on giant playground equipment.
We climbed the heights and soon had the cache in hand. Signed the log and replaced the cache.
This place is definately made for smaller people ... banging our heads once or twice confirmed this.
We slid down the giant slide in the dark to make our exit.
I don't think the couple of young people who were smoking near by in the dark were to worried about a couple of older blokes charging past in the dark and "playing" on the kiddies playground.
Will add this one to my favourites.

Dropped by and installed a new camo nano. This should make it easier to find if you know what to look for - also less likely to be muggled. I hope you like it.

04-Jul-12
Had the day of and took the geotoddler for a quick check on this cache. The nano had been reinstated out of sight. Moved it back so that cachers can get a small glance without giving away its location to muggles.

Love having a cache that is so much fun to maintain.

03-Jul-12
Went up the tower and had a brief look. Couldnt find anything. Re-read the clue and went back up. This time i had a more thorough look. Still no luck. Sad

24-Jun-12
Found today by the Crew Cap'n - given that the crew in attendance were either too short and/or too afeared of heights to make the ascent!

17-Jun-12
Had been to this big slide before a cache had even been placed here. Thanks for a great hide and i wish i had a membership to favourite it so just be in mind that it is a favourite point from me. Had to feel around until i felt a nano. I believe that i found this cache by luck as i was about to give up on this. TFTC and i really enjoyed it. Smile

I agree - Mega Fun!!

I usuallly dislike playground caches, but this is definitely a beauty. Dressed in business attire I arrived here late this afternooon. Although there were some muggles about they were mainly adolescents and not bothered by me at all. I proceeded to thread my 194cm, ageing frame up the tower and came to the top. Had a quick look around and realised I had to enter the cage. This was going to be tricky as it looked like it was suited to 6 year olds.
I wormed my way through and was able to stand up and search. Using the hint I had cih quickly, but then cam the nervous part. I can fully understand what happened to Cashman and dreaded dropping any or all of the cache elements. I gingerly extracted the log, secured the cache parts, signed log and re-asssmebled everything without any spills.
After replacing the log,I had a decision to make, slide and possibly ruin a new pair of trousers or thread myself bacck down the tower. I chose the safer option, but would have loved the slide - maybe next time I am in WB.

A wonderful and imaginitive example of using a playground sensibly. Gets a favourite from me.

What a saga this one turned out to be.

Geo-daughter and I decided to grab this in the pouring rain as there are few times that the place is not overrun with muggles.

We climbed to the top in the rain and by this stage was getting fairly wet. Geo-daughter then climbed across and was looking for the cache. She was unable to locate it so I went across and helped with the search. I reached around and found it just enough to knock it off. The cache fell and bounced off something on the way down and disappeared into the abyss.

I then climbed down, looking on each level whilst geo-daughter took the slide. Geo-daughter then climbed back up searching all the way. We then searched for about 30 minutes before geo-daughter came up with the cache half buried in the sand. It was at this stage we realised that we had left the pen in the car. We walked back to the car and as I opened the cache I dropped one half in the car. We then logged the cache and went back and replaced it before sliding back to earth.

We then arrived back at the car to see a tiny magnet lying in the car. It was at this stage that I realised the magnet had fallen out when i dropped it in the car. So it was back to the top for one more time to retrieve the cache replace the magnet and finally put it back for good.

We then slid back down before heading home soaking wet. A lot harder than it needed to be.

Thanks dan

We had come past at lunch time today for a look hoping that there wouldn't be too many people - man we were wrong! There was a line up of people all the way up the tower and there was a line up at the bottom! We continued caching and returned in the dark. It took a few minutes of looking before making the find. We decided not to go down the slide as we encountered some teenage muggles who said the slide was wet. TFTC.

2TF. Just like the man said - MEGA FUN. I wish we had playgounds like this when I was a kid. Arrived at GZ only to find Team Unibolt signing as FTF. Waited for him to climb down and had a chat. Then I climbed up and soon had the cache. While signing the log I was hoping the wind didn't blow it away. No mini muggles up here today - too cold and windy. Took the quick way back to earth via the fun, and dark, corkscrew slide. Good one Danwashere.

Headed out to grab this one and upon arrival there was no one else in site. Made the climb and found the cache fairly quickly. I got so engrossed in signing the log and re hiding the cache, I didn't notice that Colleda had arrived at the GZ, it wasn't until I had made the decent and was walking away that I had a chance to finally meet Colleda, always nice to meet locals for the first time. Although the hide was fairly standard the location was not, and it was definitely a fun cache to complete. thanks danwashere, and you earn a favorite point for the smile you put on my face on arrival at the GZ. TFTC.
